Tran Kitchen is one of the better Vietnamese food options in the area, and I'm giving it 4 stars for the exceptional service, clean restaurant, convenient location, and ample parking. The food is good for the local clientele, so expect flavors that are a bit milder and more approachable. Authentic Vietnamese cuisine can be bold and complex, which may not appeal to everyone who is new to it. The egg rolls were a standout. They were seasoned well and won me over from the very first bite. We ordered several classics: Pho Dac Biet, Bo Kho, and Bun Bo Hue. The beef broth was well prepared, but all three soups tasted very similar to me. While that worked well for the pho, it was somewhat disappointing for the Bo Kho and Bun Bo Hue, which traditionally have their own distinct flavor profiles and seasonings. The dishes seemed tailored more toward American palates, and I found myself adding extra saté while still craving more lemongrass and traditional mam-based seasoning. The Bun Bo Hue, in particular, would benefit from optional authentic additions such as pork blood, cha hue, and pork shoulder. I spoke with the owner about this, and he agreed that offering these ingredients upon request could be a great option. I believe this would attract more Asian customers looking for a more authentic experience. There is a sizable Asian community in the area, and many of us are often hesitant to try new Asian restaurants because authenticity can vary widely. That said, if you're new to Vietnamese food, Tran Kitchen is definitely worth a visit. They offer all the classic favorites, the service is excellent, and you won't have to travel far to enjoy a solid Vietnamese meal.

Went to try this spot for dinner last night, and I was super impressed. I got beef and meatball pho, and chicken spring rolls. The service was super attentive, not what I would expect from a pho shop for sure. The broth was delicious and the portions were huge. I've never had chicken spring rolls before, so I thought I'd try it and I'm pretty sure they cooked it fresh. Like cooked the chicken and then rolled the rolls. It was substantial and I probably could have had that as a meal by itself. Really great place, I highly recommend and I will go back.

Very good will be back! The hospitality was great they were checking up making sure service and food was good. The place felt clean and has a good ambiance. The pho and wings were very good. The food felt home cooked and not processed. I really enjoyed my pho. This place is really new so I took a chance and happy I went. I was very impressed in the quality of food and the attentive service.

New place in Folsom and we were not disappointed! Everything was fantastic. Food came out quickly and fresh. Their fried egg rolls are the best in town, and I've had others at many Vietnamese places. Nice friendly service. We will be back and highly recommend trying them out.

We visited the restaurant during Grand opening for lunch. It was packed and it took a while to get our food. The service was friendly and they checked several time on us and to refill the water. We visited again the following week for a to-go order. The restaurant wasn't busy but we still had to wait quite a while for our food. - H4. Bo Kho with bun: the soup broth was good (tomatoey with a hint of sweetness). The beef pieces were tender and they were lots of pieces. The bun was super good: crunchy on the outside yet soft inside. It was the perfect combo to dipped into the broth. - P2. Pho Tai Bo Vien: the portion was generous. The broth wasn't too fatty and tasted clean yet savory. The noodle was cooked perfectly and they were quite generous for the meatball & sliced steak. - S1. Bahn Mi Thit Nuong chicken: it was okay. It didn't have the pate as in other Bahn mi places. However, the pickled vegetables were crunchy and fresh. The chicken pieces were tender and flavorful. - R2. Com Thit Nuong chicken: the portion was good. The chicken was juicy and flavorful but I wish it was more charred.

This place exceeded my expectations! If im being honest, nothing in the food scene of folsom has really wowed me except this place. I ordered the spicy lemongrass chicken plate and my fiance got their signature pho . The pho broth was amazing- one of the best ive had. I really liked that i could taste the the star anise-it wasnt too potent or anything but had a nice aroma and made this broth more unique from others because normally I can barely taste it. My chicken was still the highlight though. It wasnt spicy at all though but still juicy tender and delicious. I would def get both dishes again- the shrimp spring rolls were a good appetizer but nothing special. Service was very nice and they came and checked on us a few times. In terms of the Ambiance its not too busy at all and I like thats they have videos of diff viet dishes playing in the background lol

Tried this location out during their opening and on a rainy day. Soup broth was clean and bean sprouts/basil were fresh. The broth did not seem very hot, it comes in a large bowl. I could only eat half and brought the other half home. The noodles are plentiful and seemed slightly under cooked but later softened in the broth. The service was attentive. Glad to have a new Vietnamese option in Folsom.

So glad I saw the posting about the soft opening for a new Vietnamese restaurant in town. Typically I'll wait a few months before trying a new business to give them an opportunity to iron out any start-up hiccups, but a piping hot bowl of noodle soup sounded like the perfect comfort food for the evening. I was thankful for our server's recommendation. My go-to when frequenting other pho restaurants is usually chicken pho, but I ordered the Bo Kho (House special beef stew served with noodles) which was packed with flavor and a generous portion of noodles to satisfy this foodie's craving for Asian cuisine. My friend ordered the Bun Bo Hue (Spicy lemongrass beef noodle soup) and enjoyed her meal as well. The service was prompt and our server, Henry was attentive. We wish this new local business much success and looking forward to future visits so we can slowly make our way through the rest of the menu! Tran Kitchen is located at: 424 E Bidwell Street Folsom, CA 95630

Food is the most authentic Vietnamese I've had in this area! Folsom NEEDED Tran's! Pho broth is so rich and flavorful and light but with such depth. Fish sauce chicken wings were divine, crispy yet sweet and clean fish sauce tang. Pork banh mi and pork and shrimp fresh spring rolls deserve honorable mention but the wings and pho!

Great new Vietnamese spot in Folsom. Solid Pho and excellent Bo Kho. Easily the best pho place in a town with limited choices for decent Vietnamese. Pho was on the sweeter side, but solid. Good cuts of beef in the soup. Was a bit stingy with the bean sprouts, but was only second day open when we went so I'm sure minor things like this will improve. The Bo Kho was the highlight. Very flavorful broth, tender meat and the banh mi bread it came with was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft inside. We also tried the chicken pho, it was the weakest part of the meal. Not bad, just C level. Service was good and owner stopped by the table to make sure everything was good and offered the kids free ice cream since it was their soft opening. We'll definitely come back when looking for Vietnamese and in the area.

With Saigon Alley & Pho n' Roll closing on us, I was excited to see a new pho restaurant in town! I was very impressed with their excellent customer service. The staff are very kind, patient and helpful. We ordered pho ga for our kids and they loved it. The broth was amazing! You don't need to add a thing. Bo kho was also so flavorful and delicious. The place is a bit on the smaller side but it's a decent size. The bathroom was nice and clean as well. I also love the decor they have- flowers and pics of Vietnam. This will be our regular pho spot from now on.

Hi Fabi, you can go with the pork and shrimp spring rolls, beef stew served with pho noodles, the shaken beef rice plate (ask for no soy sauce, use vegan oyster sauce instead), or the grilled shrimps vermicelli bowl.

Service was ok. Remodeled to a modern ambience which I thought was simple and nice compared to other pho establishments. We started with Goi Nem Nuong (grilled pork spring rolls) - this was actually really good and served warm. We also grabbed the salt and pepper calamari. Batter was crispy, calamari was chewy but was a tad oily. Flavor was there. Pho N Roll noodles came up short. We order (2) special Pho (Dac Biet) and BBH in large size. Ordered a small Pho Tai Gan for our little one. While there was ample noodles and broth in portions, the flavor was lacking. Pho and BBH were both on the bland side. BBH was not spicy or savory. Most noodle options have 4 sizes (XS, S, L and XL) however the specials only have 3 leaving out XS which makes sense. Conveniently located with ample parking as it shares a center with ranch 99, Starbucks, etc. They have a really large menu! While we may not have loved the pho, there are so many other rice dishes to try! Until next time.

This takes me to their Folsom location which opened its doors back in late-2021. Situated in a decent sized outdoor strip mall with a mix of boutiques and retail business, this Huong Lan is located directly off of East Bidwell St and adjacent to Wales Dr. Parking is fairly easy to find on any given day and they have very reasonable hours of operation being open weekdays from 10am-9pm and weekends from 10am-8pm. Since I live in the suburbs, this location is actually easier for me and is very convenient for those that live in Folsom, El Dorado Hills, Orangevale, Citrus Heights, Fair Oaks, and other neighboring communities. One really unique thing about this location is that they have a drive-thru for those that don't wish to exit their vehicles. However, if you're not in a rush, I do recommend dining inside as the interior dining area is quite open, inviting, and spacious. And one really positive thing about this location is that they are not nearly as busy as their other locations. More often than not, I am waiting in line (sometimes up to 30 minutes) just to place an order at the South Sacramento location. I also noticed how much of a variety this location offers including 15 different Bánh Mì variations, Phở, noodle soups, Vermicelli bows, rice plates, and a nice assortment of appetizers. They also carry several types of pearl teas, milk teas, and boba drinks. At this location, I literally entered the restaurant, walked up to the front counter, and placed my order. I ended up coming here during the afternoon on Saturday 5/30/2026 at around 2:00pm. My Bánh Mì sandwich of choice was their B7 "Grilled Pork" aka "Bánh Mì Thịt Nướng" and was priced at $9.25 (after tax). After making my payment, I sat down and within 5 minutes, my sandwich was brought out to me. I am going to be honest with everything, the bread was soft while the veggies (cilantro, cucumber, pickled carrots, and daikon) were all laid out very proportionally. But what this Bánh Mì was seriously lacking was the grilled pork! I love a good Bánh Mì sandwich but just ONE strip of pork? C'mon guys, I've been to your other locations and they have been very generous with the proteins. However, everything tasted great and I will still give this place an above average rating based on the service, location, ambiance, quality/freshness of food, and overall experience. I also wanted to add that the inside was very clean and sanitary while the public restroom was spotless. When you factor in a very spacious interior with a convenient drive-thru at the exterior and a pleasant dining experience in a quiet part of town, I am giving the Folsom "Huong Lan" location a respectable and above average four stars.

There were plenty of empty, clean booths - it was NOT busy. Any one of them would've been fine. The menus were dirty and sticky too. I let it go, figured I'd just wash my hands after ordering. We ordered the crispy pork sausage spring rolls, one order of pork egg rolls ($12, per the menu), two Thai teas, and two lemongrass vermicelli. Then I went to the restroom - toilet paper all over the floor, sink area filthy. The waiter brought out two orders of egg rolls - he'd misheard me and didn't even know the price - but he owned it and took the extra back. No harm there. The food was a letdown. The lemongrass vermicelli was a mountain of noodles, an OK amount of bland chicken, and barely any vegetables. No texture, no flavor, no spice. This was not Vietnamese cooking - it was lazy. I wouldn't order it again. So I tried to salvage it and asked for some extra veggies to fix the texture. Here's the problem. The dish already comes with salad mix - it says so on their own menu. Nobody told me extra veggies would cost anything. We got the bill, it wasn't on there, and then the waitress came back, said "I'm just going to update the check real quick," and added a $2.50 "extra veggies" charge after the fact. Now look at their menu (photo attached). They have a whole "Additional Add-ons" section, and the ONLY veggie add-on listed is garnish/beansprouts at $0.50 to $1 - not $2.50. So they charged me up to five times the only veggie price they actually print, for something they never disclosed. And on the receipt it's typed in lowercase as "extra veggie" while every real menu item is capitalized - you can tell it was punched in by hand. I asked the waiter to take it off since nobody told me it'd be a charge. He refused. I asked to talk up front so I wouldn't bother other tables, and asked for a manager - out came the owner, the same woman who'd sat me at the filthy booth. I asked her to remove the $2.50. She refused, said people ask for extras all day so they have to charge, and that she considered this a "side salad" - even though there's no side salad at that price on the menu. I said, "That's fine, but you have to disclose it first." She told me it was on the menu. It is not (see the photo). I told her no restaurant in Little Saigon charges for a few extra veggies without telling you up front. She refused again. I paid, told her I'd leave a bad review and no tip and wouldn't be back - all over $2.50 she could've just removed. She asked what the review would even be about. I listed it: the dirty table, dirty menus, dirty bathroom, the undisclosed charge, and her refusal to reason with a customer making a fair point. She went quiet. As I walked back to grab my things, she kept talking, but the music was so loud I genuinely couldn't hear her, so I said "Sorry, I can't hear you over the music." That's when her husband SCREAMED across the entire restaurant: "GET OUT RIGHT NOW!" I said, "I'm already leaving, and I won't be back." And he screamed, "WE DON'T NEED PEOPLE LIKE YOU HERE!" People like me? I was respectful and calm the whole time. I never cursed, never raised my voice, I just pointed out facts. So what did he mean? Because I pushed back on an undisclosed charge? Because my partner and I are LGBTQ+ and sat next to each other? Because I'm Black? I have no idea why he said it, but if you're Black or LGBTQ, I'd think twice... Either way, screaming that across a full dining room, at a customer who simply said he wouldn't return, is unhinged. No competent owner does that. Here's the kicker: Pho Momma's 2025 Michelin recognition is a Bib Gourmand - which is specifically the award for good value. A restaurant honored for value nickel-and-dimed me $2.50 for veggies they never disclosed, then had its owner scream me out the door. Is that what Michelin recognition looks like? Absolutely not. If you're Black or LGBTQ, I'd genuinely reconsider eating here and save yourself the possible discrimination. Go to Pho Xe Lua, Pho Saigon, or honestly any other pho spot in town.
