I will say that "Huong Lan" has consistently been one of my main go-to spots for their Vietnamese Bánh Mì sandwiches ever since I started going to their South Sacramento (65th St/Stockton Blvd) location back in the early-2000s. This takes me to their Folsom location which opened its doors back in late-2021. Situated in a decent sized outdoor strip mall with a mix of boutiques and retail business, this Huong Lan is located directly off of East Bidwell St and adjacent to Wales Dr. Parking is fairly easy to find on any given day and they have very reasonable hours of operation being open weekdays from 10am-9pm and weekends from 10am-8pm. Since I live in the suburbs, this location is actually easier for me and is very convenient for those that live in Folsom, El Dorado Hills, Orangevale, Citrus Heights, Fair Oaks, and other neighboring communities. One really unique thing about this location is that they have a drive-thru for those that don't wish to exit their vehicles. However, if you're not in a rush, I do recommend dining inside as the interior dining area is quite open, inviting, and spacious. And one really positive thing about this location is that they are not nearly as busy as their other locations. More often than not, I am waiting in line (sometimes up to 30 minutes) just to place an order at the South Sacramento location. I also noticed how much of a variety this location offers including 15 different Bánh Mì variations, Phở, noodle soups, Vermicelli bows, rice plates, and a nice assortment of appetizers. They also carry several types of pearl teas, milk teas, and boba drinks. At this location, I literally entered the restaurant, walked up to the front counter, and placed my order. I ended up coming here during the afternoon on Saturday 5/30/2026 at around 2:00pm. My Bánh Mì sandwich of choice was their B7 "Grilled Pork" aka "Bánh Mì Thịt Nướng" and was priced at $9.25 (after tax). After making my payment, I sat down and within 5 minutes, my sandwich was brought out to me. I am going to be honest with everything, the bread was soft while the veggies (cilantro, cucumber, pickled carrots, and daikon) were all laid out very proportionally. But what this Bánh Mì was seriously lacking was the grilled pork! I love a good Bánh Mì sandwich but just ONE strip of pork? C'mon guys, I've been to your other locations and they have been very generous with the proteins. However, everything tasted great and I will still give this place an above average rating based on the service, location, ambiance, quality/freshness of food, and overall experience. I also wanted to add that the inside was very clean and sanitary while the public restroom was spotless. When you factor in a very spacious interior with a convenient drive-thru at the exterior and a pleasant dining experience in a quiet part of town, I am giving the Folsom "Huong Lan" location a respectable and above average four stars. read more

11/16/25 More like a 3.5 overall. We've had tried eggrolls from here (missed taking a pic). They offer 2 sizes that are not similar in wrapper and i think we liked the smaller one vs large as it was crispier. Sandwich (banh mi #1 classic) was ok. It had a bit too much pate for the hubs. Huong Lan was my favorite growing up, and this location tastes exactly like how I remember it. The one off 65th just isn't the same anymore, so finding this spot made me genuinely happy. Made a pit stop here to get some sandwiches to go. Ordered the grilled pork and the banh mi dac biet. Not too much people around 2pm so in/out in about 10 mins. There are a lot of clean tables and seating for those who dine in though The banh mi had fresh herbs and veggies but I wish there were more cucumbers and pickled veggies. The sandwich was also a little more flat than I wanted but I liked that the bread was toasted to the right crunch. Stopped into Folsom's Huong Lan Sandwiches for a quick bite. I'm familiar with the chain and have been to the one in South Sac once before. Shared an order of the A21 pork and shrimp spring rolls goi cuon ($7.25), and my main was the B7 Grilled Pork banh mi thit nuong (everything on it), $8.25. You could get either the Vietnamese veggies/fixins or a more basic lettuce and tomato dealio. Self serve water and plastic utensils, sauces and napkins provided at the table. Aside from appetizers and banh mi sandwiches, they also have pho, noodle soups, beef stews, vermicelli bowls, rice plates, pearl tea drinks and other beverages like coffee, fresh coconut juice, shakes, etc. The baguette bread on the sandwich was fresh and soft. The jalapenos weren't too spicy, although I could have done without the onion. Didn't seem like a ton of meat in the sando but then again they do carve out the bread so it might've been down inside. The spring rolls were good, as was the peanut dipping sauce. They did have a few grab and go cold drinks such as canned young coconut juice, and I noticed one plastic cup (lidded) of a sweet tapioca/sago & corn pudding, and some bread by the register for purchase too. While the one off 65th does have more other options, I still appreciate that they have a location out in Folsom where there aren't as many *good* Viet spots. In need of a potluck dish for 120 people (ended up being more!) in Lake Tahoe...in three hours for 4th of July! Passing through Folsom, I called Huong Lan hoping they could put together a party tray of some sort for me to pick up pronto! Yes! I got 75 large eggrolls at $1.45/ea with all the fixings (lettuce, cucumber, pickled carrot and daikon, nuoc cham) in twenty minutes. They don't do party trays exactly, they charge by the roll. But they'll assemble it in a party tray to go. There is a discount if you pay cash. Didn't have that much on me, but I will remember for next time! I wanted something healthy so I decided to drop by Huong Lan in Folsom since I was in the area. I've been to the location in Sacramento but not Folsom. You order at the counter and the food will be deliver to the table. I ordered the pork chop, egg cake, shredded pork with rice. When I got to the table I was surprised that there weren't any pickled jalapeños. And when my food came out my rice was mushy! My dish was practically ruined. The service was okay. I love having a Huong Lan in Folsom! When I was in my teens and twenties I would make the trek to 65th and Stockton just for a sandwich and now I can just drive up the street! It's the same great viet sandwich as the original location- same bread, same veggies, same meats. No sacrifice of quality in any way. I always get the #12 - my fave! However, there was an unexpected wait, and with other errands to run, I decided to skip it. I remembered there's a Huong Lan in Folsom, so I made my way there instead. Unlike the Huong Lan on Stockton Blvd, which has goods to browse and purchase, this location is more minimalist. It feels more like an express storefront than a full dining experience. There are no seats for customers who order, so I ended up sitting at an open table just to avoid being in the way. I ordered two BBQ Pork Banh Mi sandwiches and shrimp spring rolls. The spring rolls were huge, and the sauce was decent--though I had to spice it up at home. The banh mi, however, was underwhelming. It lacked flavor, with the pickled veggies overpowering everything else. It was very different than the typical huong lan locations. This is more like a restaurant set up with tons of parking outside and seating inside. The restaurant is clean and neat and the food options are kept to the minimum which I wasn't overwhelmed with the amount I can purchase. They specialize in sandwiches so I came for the grill pork. I also ordered an avocado smoothie with less sugar. Bc we came so late, I wasn't able to see other options they have but what can be made in the kitchen like rice plates, soup and drinks. Yup, my #1 favorite banh mi bread that I've had at a banh mi shop is right here (even better than at the OG location in South Sac). Hefty baguette that is crispy on the outside (and not roof-of-mouth-destroying crunchy) and light and fluffy on the inside. Best of both worlds texture-wise. As for banh mi filling, tasty stuff (I had the BBQ pork one) though a bit skimpy. Wasn't really a fan of the pork ball spring rolls (nem nuong cuon) here as the pork balls were dry and had a slight unpleasant grit to them. Iced milk coffee (Vietnamese style) tasted instant or it just had a bunch of additives. Not remarkably strong either. Polite staff. Interior seating available. Wasn't busy when I visited on a Saturday. Located in a plaza that is far less hectic compared to the one that has the OG location lol so if Folsom isn't too far of a drive for you I suggest heading over here for your banh mi cravings. read more

I was sad when these people closed their Rancho Cordova store. Now, if I want one of their sandwiches, I have to go to either here or south Sac. There was a good amount of fillings, and everything tasted great. The sandwich was big, and the price was very reasonable.. I've never had a bad banh mi from these people. A point gets subtracted for the dessert I had. It was a tapioca with corn. I've had a coconut pudding with corn dessert elsewhere, and it was very good. The problem with this one, was that there was just. *WAAAAAY* too much corn. I could barely taste the tapioca, all I could pretty much taste was the corn. I was definitely not a fan.
