A nice large neighborhood coffee shop. I tried the banana pudding latte, and just as the barista indicated it was not too overly sweet -- just right. Thanks for the suggestion! They have really fun coffee flavors and a good selection of pastries. There is also plenty of seating indoors. Will definitely be back.

PARKING: Parking is hit and miss. The lot is small and it is quite busy but there is street parking too. SEATING: Lots of seating! Nice and open! But it seems to be that people like to study here which is nice so that's super cool. The decor is so cute. Very whimsical and welcoming! SERVICE: Really friendly! All the baristas were awesome and were extremely helpful! The coffee came out very quickly too, I was surprised at this because I didn't expect it to be mine, haha. FOOD: Omg this coffee is INSANELY GOOD. I would come back everyday to try all the flavors of coffee. The strawberry shortcake latte is just the right amount of sweetness and the coffee is so smooth and delicious. Just 10 out of 10!! OVERALL: I already know this place is one that I will visit often and happily. I love to see local business thriving!!

Probably the best Spanish latte I've ever had We were unfamiliar with the area and were looking for a local coffee shop when we drove by and saw a line of about 15 people out front, that immediately convinced us to stop. The café itself is so cool and thoughtfully designed. Apparently it's a renovated old coffee bean shop, and they did such a beautiful job bringing it back to life while keeping its charm. The baristas were genuinely so friendly and upbeat. They take your order and then focus solely on making your drink, which gives the whole experience such a nice level of care and attention. Absolutely loved this spot and will definitely be making the trip back to Whittier just for it. Parking in the back is plenty

I really loved how they changed coffee bean into this gem! The vibe is completely different, it's calm and relaxing, a great place to do homework or work or just to hangout with friends! Coffee was great! It wasn't too sweet and didn't taste burnt. Service was very fast and they were busy as well. I'll be back

Tranquilo Coffee is a great new addition to Whittier. The space is beautiful, with vibrant decor and eye-catching tile work that makes it feel warm and inviting. I ordered the seasonal Strawberry Shortcake Cold Brew and loved it. It still tasted like coffee, but the strawberry flavor came through perfectly. I was looking for something a little sweeter than my usual order, and this was a fun, unique treat without being over the top. Friendly staff and a great first experience. I'll definitely be back.

Coffee has such a great vibe. It's busy but not overwhelming, and the service was still quick. The staff was super sweet and really took time to answer our questions and explain different drinks in detail. We tried a cold brew with their house syrup and cold foam, perfect balance, not overly sweet at all. My friend mentioned she should've added cold foam, and the barista kindly added it on complimentary, which was such a thoughtful touch. Overall, everything was delicious and well-made, and the experience felt really welcoming. This spot used to be Coffee Bean, which I loved growing up, so I was a little sad when it closed but I'm honestly really happy this is what replaced it. Definitely recommend.

I had a lovely experience at Tranquilo Coffee (Whittier). I ordered the ZuZu Cloud Top ($7). It's creamy cold brew coffee that's sweetened with house-made syrup, and it's topped with fluffy foam & sprinkled espresso powder. TASTY! This coffee tasted bright, chill, and silky. After 40 minutes, the clean coffee's strength suddenly hit me. I felt happy. I arrived at Tranquilo Coffee (Whittier) on Friday (around 9:15AM). Parking is available and free; however, it's very competitive. There's a very competitive, busy customer parking lot. And there's street parking. Customers order at the counter. There was ALWAYS a line! POPULAR!! When I'd left, the line started to stretch outside the doorway. It took about five minutes to reach the counter; however, my drink was completed in 32 seconds!!! FAST! Staff is polite and composed. As mentioned, I ordered the ZuZu Cloud Top ($7). This coffee is not bitter nor overly sweet; rather, it's very smooth and clean. Immediately, I thought of bright & refreshing flavors as I sipped. The hype for this location is genuine!! The coffee has utility and flavor. On ambiance, Tranquilo Coffee (Whittier) is very clean. Despite the eye-sore orange chairs, the ceiling is very pretty. There's many college students studying with laptops at this spot. I counted about two electrical outlets by the tables; however, the long counter has extra electrical outlets embedded in its underside. In addition, Tranquilo Coffee (Whittier) has about nine tables and one very long table counter. There's two gender neutral restrooms with number codes. And I appreciated the upbeat music. This location felt comfortable and new. Overall, I had a pleasant experience at Tranquilo Coffee (Whittier). I felt awake and happy after sipping. If searching for a great coffee option in Whittier, I can happily recommend. 4.9 out of 5

Enjoyed it all! My first visit. A new coffee shop in an area with many. This place is located where Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf was for years. The decor: a minimalist, tasteful, calm aesthetic, industrial, clean, and simple vibe. Not cozy, but an inviting space to sit for conversation or solitude to work or read. Plants added a touch of green and sense of life and growth. The music was soft and perfect for background ambience. There was a variety of coffee drinks, other drinks, and some food available. I noticed different brewing machines, which was interesting and will appeal to more serious coffee drinkers. I liked the tile design and color, a bright blue at the counter and a dusty teal in the spacious, clean restrooms. There is a separate room that would work nicely for a small group or meeting. I hope they permit reservations for it in the future. The woman who took my order and the woman who made my latte were charming and friendly, doing their work efficiently with a pleasant attitude. That helped me feel the welcome and caring that will set this place apart. I had a great first experience and a grand first impression.

Tranquilo Coffee took over the old Coffee Bean location and the nostalgia alone made me excited to visit. I used to come here all the time in college to study, so when Coffee Bean closed I couldn't wait to see what would move in -- and honestly, I love what they've done with the space. The old setup felt darker and heavier with all the wood tones, but Tranquilo completely opened it up. The bright whites with the blue and orange accents make it feel so much bigger, lighter, and more inviting. It's the kind of coffee shop you actually want to sit in for a while -- whether that's catching up with a friend, studying, or getting some work done. And the coffee? Even better. I'm obsessed. I've already been three times. The first time I got the Spanish latte. I usually stay away from sweeter coffee drinks, but this one was so balanced and not overly sweet at all. The last two visits I ordered the Zuzu Cloud Top -- a cold brew mixed with your choice of whole milk or oat milk, topped with their cold foam and espresso powder. So creamy, so smooth, so good. Definitely recommend. Safe to say this has quickly become one of my new favorite coffee spots in the area.

My first specialty drink at Tranquilo

I was in Whittier on business and had a few minutes to spare, so I decided to see if I could finally find a really good coffee shop in Uptown. I've been in the area many times, but had never found a place that really met my standards for a great specialty coffee. I checked Yelp and found Tranquilo Coffee. The reviews were excellent, so I decided to give it a try. When I arrived, there was a huge line. My first thought was, if this many people are willing to wait, it must be pretty good! While standing in line, I started talking with the guy in front of me, who was also there for the first time. After we both got our drinks, we compared notes -- and agreed that the coffee was fantastic and Tranquilo had just become our new go-to spot whenever we're in Whittier. Great specialty coffee, clearly a loyal following, and absolutely worth the wait. I'll definitely be back!

Went on a Saturday around 11am and boy was it busy! Waited like 20+ minutes in line but luckily my drinks came out fast! We got the Zuzu cloud top and hibiscus lemonade. We loved the zuzu cloud top it was the perfect amount of sweetness and you can still taste the coffee. The hibiscus lemonade was not great at all. That's a skip for sure! I think it's kinda pricey for what you get. Other than that it was a great experience. I would be coming back again.

After my Pilates class I had to stop by because I was curious where people were getting their coffee from. When I went, they still had their soft opening hours and I would say there were 6 people ahead of me. Which doesn't seem like much, but the line was out the door, and progressively got longer as time went on. I really enjoyed the space, and even thought I waited maybe 15 minutes to order, my drink and pastry were out in a jiffy! You can't go wrong with their honey oat latte with a chocolate croissant. It definitely revived me after having done a hit Pilates class.

I think that the banana matcha was really delicious! It was well balanced with the banana and the matcha wasn't too sweet and wasn't too bitter. I think that it was one of the best matchas!

LFTD recently made an announcement that they are being evicted by their landlord and will close…read moredown this brick-and-mortar location by the end of this year (December 29th, 2025). A week before the announcement was made, I came here to try their famous blue tortilla breakfast burrito. [Parking]: There's a free public parking structure located one block away from the coffee shop (6738 Comstock Ave, Whittier, CA 90601). [Atmosphere]: Super crowded on Sunday & I was not able to find a place to sit. I ultimately ordered my breakfast burrito to-go. They also have a section of cafe that sell vintage clothing. [Menu]: For the signature breakfast burrito, they actually have 6 options - classic breakfast burritos (bacon - $16.50), Prime Steak (grass-fed prime steak $20.50), the Ultimate Burrito (grass-fed prime steak + avocado + bacon), Chilaquiles ($15.50), Chorizo ($16.00), and Vegan ($16.00). They also sell their cold brew cafe de olla in giant plastic bags that look like IV drip bags at the refrigerated section. [Ordering]: Customers can order at the cashier counter or order via kiosk (they use Toast). I reviewed their breakfast burrito options at 12 PM and they ran out of classic breakfast burrito. I ended up with prime steak breakfast burrito instead. Unfortunately I waited 45 minutes before they had my order ready and I could tell other customers were not too patient with their orders as they kept walking up to the pick-up counter & checked the ordering status. *** Prime Steak Breakfast Burrito (grass fed prime steak, scrambled egg, Monterey Jack cheese, crema, pico de gallo, tri-colored peppers, hash browns - $20.50): Unlike other breakfast burrito I have had at other places, this breakfast burrito had blue tortilla. The portion was a bit smaller than I expected, but chewy steak + crispy hash browns + roasted peppers + red salsa = one delicious and s-tier tasting breakfast burrito. *** While LFTD serves one of the best 5-star worthy breakfast burritos I have ever had in LA + Orange County, I have to take off a star due to extremely long wait time on food order. Please do yourself a favor and place an online order at least 30 minutes ahead of time if you want to try their breakfast burritos ( https://www.toasttab.com/local/order/lift-6701-greenleaf-ave ).

A Welcome Addition to West Whittier…read more I visit this Philz Coffee location whenever I'm back in town visiting family, and it has consistently been a great experience. The staff are always friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable, and they're especially helpful when I have questions about the menu. I don't actually purchase coffee that often. When I do, it's usually either Philz or a local mom-and-pop coffee shop/hole-in-the-wall. So whenever I walk into a Philz, there's usually something new for me to try or ask about. On my most recent visit, I also realized I had somehow created two Philz accounts. After placing my order, I asked the cashier if they could be merged, and they kindly provided me with the appropriate customer service email rather than leaving me to figure it out myself. I also asked about their cold brew. I ordered my usual Honey Haze, but I wanted to treat my grandmother to a coffee as well. She loves coffee and drinks it black -- usually a medium roast that she brews in a big batch at home. The cashier recommended the Mission Cold Brew, so I decided to give it a try for her. I delivered it to my grandmother later that day, knowing she would probably save it for the next morning since caffeine too late in the day can interfere with her sleep. I followed up with her the next day, and she loved it! That recommendation definitely earned some points with both of us. The Whittier location is consistently clean, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and I appreciate having Philz as another coffee option in West Whittier and The Groves Whittier. It's always nice when a new addition to the neighborhood actually feels like a welcome one.

I'm an unsweetened iced cold brew/Americano gal with a new obsession for espresso tonics so rarely find myself at a Philz. When I received my order, I was kindly educated on different coffees Philz offers by Yamile! She was so knowledgeable about everything and my cold brew was delicious. I was having a weird day so the positive encounter helped alleviate some of my anxiety. Thank you ladies!
