I called ahead and requested to pay over the phone since I was walking my reactive puppy to pick up my vehicle but he refused stating that they are all "dog people." Dude was printing up a receipt and attempted to up charge me $7. He acted surprised as if the something was accidently added to my bill. Being a single female I felt taken advantage of. I try giving people the benefit of the doubt, especially since covid, but this guy surely was a scammer. All this bs at the counter while my puppy barked and lunged at all the "dog-people" there. Super awkward and untrustworthy experience. Would not recommend to anyone.

I explained to them in detail what i had done, and what parts i had replaced. Their idea was to replace the same part i did instead of diagnosing the entire sysytem to pinpoint the problem as a shop should...so they call me up the day before pick up to inform me that the problem isnt the part i replaced (big suprise) and low and behold they want another 1400 to crack into the actual problem, and that i just basically paid them 1300 to babysit my daughters car for a week. Instead of diagnosing the system they just threw parts at it...not a good look fellas...so when i get her car back i will go over the lil "easter eggs" i hid to see if it was put back together correctly (i know it wasnt) becuase there should be supplements...my advice is pay those techs better so corners dont need to be cut...and yall wont get put on blast for this type of work...

I said I wanted them to figure out the battery issue & I wanted an oil change. Well they tried to sell me a brand new Napa battery for $220 and when I balked, they got weird. I said I wasn't going to have the car much longer so why would I want to spend that kind of money on a battery. I said I'd get a battery & bring it there for them to install. they said okay. I took them the battery & expected the oil change to be done & I could take my car. Wrong! They had still not done the oil change & their reason was that they couldn't do it if the car had a dead battery. I thought since they were an auto repair shop that they could figure out how to do an oil change on a car that needed a battery, like use a battery that they keep on hand just for this reason. But no I had to leave my car over the weekend. when it still wasn't ready on Mon evening I was pissed. I said just install the battery, forget the oil change. they'd had my car for 3 days & done nothing, then they charged me $60 to install the battery, saying that they really should have charged me the full diagnostic charge which is $120.00. Wow what a ripoff place!

He could have easily told me that my car had 27 issues that popped up on his diagnostic run and urged me to repair all of them. Instead, he completely reset the light, told me my car was safe to drive for the next few days and to pop back in when the light came back on so that he could find the main issue and just fix that. Like who does that?? The guys that change my oil are always trying to get me to fix extra things but here at Tran's? Didn't happen. He even told me he didn't have time to deal with extras because he had so many cars in his yard to take care of, so he's only taking care of the main issue. The owner was extremely nice too. He didn't charge me for the diagnostic but told me what he believes is the issue and gave me an estimate on the spot. But of course, we won't know for sure until my light pops back up and he's able to dive deeper into my (car) problems. Would definitely recommend Tran's to anyone!
