I recently started having issues with my Mini Cooper. Every time I got gas, it had a hard start,…read moreand it kept getting worse until one day it actually shut off. This was just a couple hundred miles before my warranty expired, so I knew I needed to get it looked at immediately. I found Sun Auto Service through my CarMax warranty as a preferred vendor. The reviews were solid, so I chose them. The main person I worked with was Cody, and he was excellent. As a woman, it can be difficult to find an auto shop where you do not feel talked down to or pressured into unnecessary repairs. That was not my experience here at all. Cody was transparent and straightforward. He clearly explained what needed attention now versus what could wait a few months. No pressure, no condescension. They had my car for about two weeks, which I understand is normal given how many variables can cause starting issues like that. I explained that my warranty was about to expire and asked them to be thorough. They absolutely were. They identified nearly $3,000 worth of repairs, all of which were covered under warranty. They handled the entire claims process. I never had to contact the warranty company once. I simply paid my deductible and was on my way. Everything felt professional, organized, and above board. It has been about two weeks since I picked up my car and it is running perfectly. I would absolutely return if I ever needed service again. Highly recommend Sun Auto, and especially Cody.

Overpriced, incompetent, liars! They left my vehicle in worse condition than when I brought it in…read more If I could leave 0 stars I would. I brought my Honda CRX in to have it serviced as I was having issues with my distributor. I told them this when I brought it in but it still took them two days to diagnose the issue, they also convinced me that I needed a new brake master cylinder despite my brakes working fine when I brought it in, I authorized this repair which was a big mistake, as when I got my car back the brakes no longer functioned, causing me to almost crash and injure myself. The car was in their own words "scary to drive". Why they returned it to me in this unsafe condition I have no idea. They tried to say the car was like that when I brought it in despite this being my daily driver. After bringing the vehicle back to fix their shoddy work, they then claimed that I needed a new brake booster which they said would be another $900, even though this part only cost about $100. I took it in to another auto shop for a second opinion, only to find out that my brake booster was completely fine, and the unsafe braking condition was due to the defective brake master cylinder that they installed. After the other shop replaced the defective brake master cylinder installed by Sun Auto, for a much cheaper price, safe braking function was restored to the vehicle. They wanted to charge me more money for a part that did not need to be replaced and refused to fix their mistakes. Here is a video of the brake master cylinder that they installed leaking brake fluid, and letter of second opinion showing that the unsafe braking condition was solely caused by the defective part that they installed. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs.

Mackin's Auto Body - My car after!

I chose this auto body shop based on strong reviews. While the quality of the repair itself was…read moregood, the overall experience was challenging due to pricing, communication, and scheduling issues. Communication was responsive at first but declined significantly after the car was dropped off. Texts and emails about the repair timeline and rental car coordination often went unanswered, and my name was repeatedly misspelled despite being originally correct in their system. I was explicitly texted that my car would be ready by 4:00 PM on the scheduled pickup day, and the rental car company was notified as well. When I followed up later that afternoon due to no confirmation, staff appeared confused that I believed the car was ready, despite the prior message and the rental company being informed. I did not receive clarification until right before close, when I was told the car was not ready due to a missing mud flap. This message arrived to me on a day they closed at noon, which prevented pickup Friday and now created an issue for pickup altogether for me since I was leaving town Sunday and they aren't open weekends. I was told Monday the vehicle could not be held, and my boyfriend went out of his way to retrieve it. Approximately 2.5 hours after the car was picked up, I received a message stating that the remaining parts (mud flap and step pad) were available, which was confusing given that the vehicle had just been released and the urgency of pick up while I was out of town. The final cost exceeded $5,000, which felt excessive compared to the insurance estimate of $1,029, even accounting for differences. They did offer to complete the remaining work at my house, which I appreciated, but scheduling proved difficult due to delayed responses. Communication only resumed once I agreed to bring the vehicle back in myself. Positives: the repair looks good, the car was cleaned and waxed, and the automated phone system was convenient for scheduling. Overall, while the workmanship was solid, the high cost, inconsistent communication, and scheduling issues made this a frustrating experience. I would not return.

I spoke with…read moreTony, the manager, who made it clear he had no interest in helping the moment I mentioned a promotional coupon sent directly by Firestone. I rearranged my schedule to honor my appointment time, only to be told it would take up to 2 hours for a simple oil change--a service that typically takes no more than 30 minutes. What's the point of having an appointment if you're going to be stuck waiting hours? When I attempted to reschedule, I was offered only a 7:30 AM weekday slot the following week--with the same unreasonable 2-hour estimate. Since the coupon expires within a week, I asked if Firestone would honor it during a more reasonable time slot. Tony flatly said no. Making basic services unnecessarily difficult and inconvenient simply because a customer has a coupon--one Firestone themselves issued--is a terrible business practice. This kind of treatment shows a complete lack of respect for customers' time and trust. I won't be returning--and I'd advise others to think twice before doing business with a company that operates this way.
