The experience was GREAT!!!!!! I am definitely going back just wish we knew to make reservations. From the site we were under the impression it was first come first serve. But the staff was very nice And accommodating.

The employees are super nice and very helpful. We love to go here. Me and my dad go here every year. We bring our own kayaks and we get a season pass. We've never had a bad experience here. We especially love the dog days.

Went with a group of 4 teenagers, none of whom had ever kayaked or canoed. I called ahead of time & the person who answered was very polite and professional. When we arrived, every staff member we encountered was helpful and patient, despite the craziness of the kids. The guy running the shed where we picked up the paddles and jackets was so nice! When we arrived at the end, the van was there waiting and the guy picking us up was nice as well. Definitely recommend!

Not too bad of a place. I didn't have any issues with the staff. The water was pretty low so we had to get out a couple times and push. This is out of their control, obviously. There are NO mile markers on the river.

The staff is so helpful and friendly. We've been 3 times and had the same level of service. I had my little one with me, my hands where full with her paddle, life jacket and lunch. The driver carried my kayak to the water's edge. The was so thoughtful and made such a difference. Thank you

I'm not a hiker, but I found the trail to be a somewhat easy hike for a senior and the walkways and guardrails were well-maintained. There are lots of benches to sit on to take in nature, darling native plants, and plenty of interesting facts to read about along the trail. We saw photos and explanations of how the Little Miami River was used to power grist and cotton mills, paper factories, and breweries. In the information building, we were greeted by the very friendly ranger, who gave us a botanical identification brochure (it would have been very useful during the hike) and introduced us to the turtles in their enclosure. The preserve was quiet, and we enjoyed ourselves so much. This is just the start of our adventure of the Clifton Gorge, and there are so many more activities to explore. We hope to be back during another season when the water in the gorge is flowing more rapidly.

The little Miami river runs through it. We hiked a loop. Starting by at the North Rim trail by the nature center and taking it to its end, which actually is in the John Bryan state park. We then looped over to the John Rich trail and hiked back. The total hike approximately 4.3 miles. But of course, there are multiple trails and options for length of hike. What made this hike absolutely beautiful was the deep gorge and valley into the river. The northern rim is on top of the gorge and the John Rich trail follows at the base of the gorge alongthe river. There are stunning views from the top of the gorge looking down, as well as numerous places with bolts for rock climbing. It is heavily wooded and provides for nice shade in the warm weather months. Along the lower trail you can experience river up close. The views are stunning. We saw a large Great Blue Heron on the bank looking eagerly for its next meal. The heavily wooded area provides for a wealth of plant life including beautiful ferns and in the sunny spots, wildflowers. There are picnic areas located along the trails as well as benches and overlooks. There are no entrance fees.

So we went to BrewDog for lunch and then headed over to the park and took a walk in the Tall Pines area, and it did not disappoint! I only wish the Tall Pines were even more plentiful. (They are a good little chunk of the trail in the middle but not the entire trail is full of them but don't let that stop you!) They are beautiful and such a marvel. I could have just laid down and stared at them. The trail was flat and easy and was the perfect length for a nice afternoon walk. I'll definitely be back to stare at those tall trees some more :)

I like to hike on snowy days when the sun's out and over the weekend I took advantage of the prime weather conditions and made my way out there. There's a sign out front letting you know to turn and there's a relatively small parking lot to leave your car. The start of the trails were easy to find thanks to the signage and after getting my bearings I headed out. The trail turns and weaves for a couple miles making a few loops. It was pretty simple to navigate which was awesome. And while the parking lot was full, I didn't run into too many people. I love that! I enjoyed every minute of my time out there. If you're like me and in need of a little time to disconnect from the world, come here. Of course, the entire place was extremely photogenic, the tall pines area being the most instagram worthy. I could have laid down right in the middle of it and just enjoyed the sound of the birds, the wind, and the feeling of the warm sunshine on my face. The only thing is the only area I found to sit down was on the other side of the park. It would have been nice to see a few more benches scattered about. Come here. Soak up nature. The peace and quiet. Unwind and settle your brain. You're welcome.
