The hamachi and albacore slices were very irregular in cut and barely covered the small rice; fish looked almost like scrap pieces, poor taste and texture like old thawed frozen; unappetizing LOW QUALITY preparations

First time back after the Pandemic was last week. They have a happy hour special $27 (?) for 3 rolls starting at 2pm. I was excited for the deal. However, there isn't much diversity with any of the sushi rolls. 90% has spicy crab mixture, tempura crumbs, fried tempura, teriyaki sauce or cream cheese! I like my sushi fresh on top of a roll and it's hard to find here. The one I did get with Tuna on top was very thin. The 3 rolls I got tasted the same after the 3rd piece. So if you come for AYCE or sushi rolls, beware they all taste the same. So the good news is I went again to give them another chance. The restaurant itself is clean and nice. I walked in at 11am. No one greeted me but the sushi chefs were busy prepping. My hopes were not set high this time but I gave it a go. This time ordering a Salmon Bento (sauce on side) and a Phoenix roll. Pros: FOOD WAS COOKED FRESH. APPS WERE HOT. Calamari was so tender and had a thin crisp batter. All tentacles! Amazing. This calamari was one of the best I've had in a while. Not frozen not all rings. Not hard and chewy. Salmon was moist and perfectly flaky. Tempura was great. Con: Can't differentiate between rolls. All ingredients the same. Not very tasty. The Phoenix roll SOUNDED good on paper but I didn't taste any of the ingredients listed, nothing exciting there. Takeaway is I would come again for lunch and order the calamari a bento and stick to ordering one roll. If you order one roll you've tasted it all.

We decided to give Trappers a try because we had a 20% off coupon. My partner really liked his chicken teriyaki, so he was happy, but they forgot our edamame and when it finally came out it was not cooked very well and was very cold. I had a vegetable roll which was fine, but the sushi rice could have been cooked with some more flavor. The miso was very tasty and they have a decent happy hour. I did not feel like it was traditional Japanese, but I might stop by for the happy hour again.

Review: I called the next day and the manger made it right. He was very kind and was a big help. only thing good was the miso soup. ordered chicken teriyaki and this is what it looked like. The hell is this?!?! Never have I ever seen children teriyaki like this. And it wasn't even good. So disappointed and will not be going back.

We didn't know the place closed in less than 30 mins but the workers were still delighted to make our food so well and had good service. We got 5 rolls and they were all amazing. Also, the edamame was a very reasonable price. I will be going back.

Food pretty good. Skywalker not as good as usual but okay. Service though, not good. Specifically Christina C. Told her up front about an allergy and should said she added a note. Second round though, didn't tell the chef and waited until I was just about to dig in before telling me that it contained what I couldn't eat. Then blamed me for not saying who it was for... even though I ordered it? Didn't remake it or take it off the bill. I let it slide that she ignored us most of the night and didn't refill drinks, but that was too much!

Trump roll came with no sauce. I couldn't even eat it and it was so expensive. Now I don't get lunch.

We had their pearls on the beach sushi roll which was pretty good. The sushi was fresh and I enjoyed the sauce that came with it. The service was okay. The food took some time to make. The server lost my credit card and I was the one that had to bring it up for them to find it so that was disappointing. The ambiance is nice. The non-hibachi area has a nice setting with nice flowers and lighting on the ceiling. However, during busy hours, it can be pretty loud due to the hibachi area.

However, my son really wanted to take us on a "date". I'm glad we agreed because the chef was funny and entertaining which kept the kids engaged. The food was priced accordingly for the portion we got. One meal can easily feed 2. My only feedback is that the soy sauce makes the food salty and one note. Great if you love teriyaki. Kids loved it of course. I appreciated the cook on my filet mignon and the chef obliged my request to skip adding the sauce on my salmon. My Mom had Mahi Mahi and I would order that next time. Each grill has 8 seats. Since we were a party of 5 and we came mid afternoon on a Saturday, we didn't have to share the space. I've tried the regular menu a long time ago and I can't recall if it was a good meal. Seems like there are a lot of recent reviews of the sushi being bad. Hopefully the owners will take the feedback into account because I really wanted to go back to try the sushi!

After finishing, my biggest takeaway was: how has this place managed to stay open for so long? Environment: The place is clean, and both the sushi counter and the freshness of the ingredients are evident to the eye. The chefs' uniforms are also very neat. Taste: Sorry, it's hard to put into words! I ordered the lunch combo. The server asked how I wanted my beef done, and I said medium rare would be fine. But the beef was really tough! The tempura was okay. My friend had the pork cutlet rice bowl--the cutlet wasn't crispy, and the sauce was poured directly on top instead of being served on the side as we requested. So neither of us finished our food and we left. Fun fact: Tempura, though it's deep-fried, actually has the second-lowest calorie count among all Japanese dishes. So what's the lowest? Sorry, I forgot. A long time ago, Japan was considered the end of the continent, so many things that made their way there were seen as reaching the ultimate destination. As a result, the Japanese would thoroughly study everything that came--whether it was swords, food, tea ceremony, etc.--which eventually gave rise to what we now call craftsmanship or the spirit of mastery.

The ambiance also wasn't enjoyable. The restaurant felt very dark and cramped, and the way the tables were arranged made the space feel crowded and uncomfortable rather than inviting. What's even more disappointing is how this business appears to respond to criticism. Looking through other negative reviews, there seems to be a recurring pattern of dismissing reviewers' experiences as false or claiming they were never customers rather than considering that someone may have genuinely had a negative experience. Their response to my review only reinforced the customer service issue I was describing. Instead of asking what happened or attempting to understand the situation, they immediately accused me of being untruthful. How a business responds to criticism says a lot about its approach to customer service. Unfortunately, between the service we received, the uncomfortable atmosphere, and the dismissive response afterward, I would not recommend Nari Sushi & Steak.
