We ordered 3 rolls which included the CEO roll, Trump roll, and Mt Rainier. Took 30 minutes for the sushi to come out considering that there were only 2 other people there. Service was good though very friendly. Sushi was good, definitely hits the spot. Would come again to try their happy hour which they have 25% of all rolls and 50% off appetizers. read more

We're regulars here and always enjoy coming in for a few rolls! They offer AYCE at both the sushi bar and the dine-in area, which makes it a fun experience every time. Because of the convenient location, this has become our weekly sushi spot -- they already know our order by heart! I can usually only manage three rolls (unlike my other half, who can easily do six or more ), but it's always a great time. We were in the area and I had read some mentions in other reviews about AYCE sushi so thought we"d give them a try. Unfortunately the AYCE is only at the bar seating and there was a 30 minute wait and we had driven almost 2 hours and didn't want to wait. The service was excellent! The restaurant was clean and bright and the food was great! We ordered the shisito peppers and cucumber salad to start really enjoyed the peppers, the cucumber salad was really tasty but portion was tiny, we ordered 4 rolls Spicy Tuna, Salmon skin, Trunp, and Mr. Charlie my favorite was the spicy tuna and the salmon skin, the Mr Charlie was good also but the Trump had an off taste to me like the fuel from the torch they used, but that one was actually my wife's favorite. This being a neighborhood restaurant I really try to keep my $$ local. Been here several times, nothing special, just ok. Was really ticked off today when I ordered pick-up. I ordered several items one being the Teriyaki steak. Walked up and picked it up then walked home. Getting home I realized they had given me teriyaki chicken instead of the steak, Not what I wanted. At all. My choices were to walk it back up and wait another 35 mins for the correct order that I paid for (and tipped prematurely on) Spoke to the hostess who handed me off to her manager, who would only take the steak off and added the chicken price. Now being someone who has worked over 25 years in the restaurant business, when you make a mistake, you fix it and you don't charge for it. I felt like they should just have taken it off the bill instead of charging me for something I did not want or order. The other option was to walk back and wait while my family ate their dinner. First time back after the Pandemic was last week. They have a happy hour special $27 (?) for 3 rolls starting at 2pm. I was excited for the deal. However, there isn't much diversity with any of the sushi rolls. 90% has spicy crab mixture, tempura crumbs, fried tempura, teriyaki sauce or cream cheese! I like my sushi fresh on top of a roll and it's hard to find here. The one I did get with Tuna on top was very thin. The 3 rolls I got tasted the same after the 3rd piece. So if you come for AYCE or sushi rolls, beware they all taste the same. So the good news is I went again to give them another chance. The restaurant itself is clean and nice. I walked in at 11am. No one greeted me but the sushi chefs were busy prepping. My hopes were not set high this time but I gave it a go. This time ordering a Salmon Bento (sauce on side) and a Phoenix roll. Pros: FOOD WAS COOKED FRESH. APPS WERE HOT. Calamari was so tender and had a thin crisp batter. All tentacles! Amazing. This calamari was one of the best I've had in a while. Not frozen not all rings. Not hard and chewy. Salmon was moist and perfectly flaky. Tempura was great. Con: Can't differentiate between rolls. All ingredients the same. Not very tasty. The Phoenix roll SOUNDED good on paper but I didn't taste any of the ingredients listed, nothing exciting there. We decided to give Trappers a try because we had a 20% off coupon. My partner really liked his chicken teriyaki, so he was happy, but they forgot our edamame and when it finally came out it was not cooked very well and was very cold. I had a vegetable roll which was fine, but the sushi rice could have been cooked with some more flavor. The miso was very tasty and they have a decent happy hour. She comes back, doesn't greet us and let us know that there are no more tables and that it will be 10-15 minute wait. The kicker: the hostess was a black woman and the couple that came in after us were black. The clear racism against us as a Hispanic couple was astounding. Really good sushi! This place had some mixed reviews, but we decided to give it a shot because the other one of us had eaten there before. I am certainly glad we did! The roles were imaginative, flavorful, and appropriately filling. Our server was quite nice and did a great job. I did not like the hot tea and that would be my literally only complaint about this place. The server got me something else to drink and I was sad. We had the Vader roll, the Andromeda, the Buddah and we had gyoza. I didn't have a single complaint! Good sushi is easy to come by in the area, but this was certainly quite excellent and if I lived here, I would do it again. How I haven't written a review for this location is beyond me because we've either dined in or ordered takeout at least 10 times over the last year. Before yall come for me, I know. I KNOW that Trapper's isn't the most authentic sushi spot there's ever been. Let's move past that and just appreciate that it's a yummy spot that is historically very consistent! Our go-to apps are the miso soup and seaweed salad. Both always hit the spot. My sushi order very rarely changes either - I get the Captain Crunch and the Skywalker. The Skywalker is my FAVORITE roll of all time from here. The torched spicy tuna has such an amazing smoky flavor and is always soooo delicious! I also am a fan of the Trapper. It's described as spicy scallops but I wouldn't say spicy... Just tastes really good! Our most recent dine in led us to do the Trapper Yacht Party which comes with four set rolls, and two orders of gyoza, for a steal at $50. They also have a $90 option with other rolls. It was so good and was quite the date lunch spread. They can never make me hate you, Trapper's!! My son has been asking for a sushi date lately so we will be back soon. read more

I like trappers but they need to stream line their process, it takes for ever to get one roll and they only do one at a time. Most other AYCE sushi has a screen you can put your order in and can order up to like 15 items. If they changed that one thing I would give it a 5. It's also pretty hot or miss on if you get a good sushi maker, I mean they all do well at their job but there is one person who seems to always be in a sour mood. I really enjoyed this place. I am not a huge sushi critic, though not having eaten a lot of sushi in my life I tend to go for the safer options. The all you can eat dinner was a lot of fun and had me trying stuff out of my comfort zone. Overall, I genuinely enjoyed most of what I got here and my friend and I would swap a piece or two of each roll too. The cucumber salad was a little subpar and I wasn't a huge fan of the Mr Charlie, but overall would definitely get everything else again. This location seems to prioritize providing the absolute minimum in quality while simultaneously delivering poor customer service at premium prices. - Appetizers were good (highly recommend Trapper Bites) but be prepared to not receive your full order without reminding staff that you are still waiting for your other appetizers - We placed an order for 2 nigiri (salmon and tuna), a sashimi plate, and two rolls (Samantha and Mariner) at the same time as our appetizers. The customers seated after us next to our table received their order before ours. - When we finally received our sushi order the quality of the food was severely degraded. No wasabi or ginger were provided, no soy sauce dipping dishes were provided, the sashimi tasted old, the rolls were simply not that good. - We requested wasabi, ginger, and soy sauce dishes and was literally provided a large bowl of ginger and what looked like an ice cream scoop of wasabi on top of the ginger. - We finally received our last appetizer order after we finished our entire meal.
