I love coming to Trapper's for their AYCE dinner sushi menu! It is about $90 for two people, but very worth it if you can clear about 3 plates of 10 pieces. I always get salmon nigiri and the seared salmon nigiri, they never fail me. My only downside is if you're choosing AYCE then you must sit at the high top seating which can be uncomfortable, but it makes sense. Highly recommend this business! read more

Birthday Lunch 3/4 wanted AYCE so we had to sit at the sushi bar. Server literally ignored me (except to tell me I couldn't eat off my parties plates....duh!) When she finally took my order - it took 10 minutes to get my app AND 40+ minutes to get my 1 roll! The rest of my party was literally ready to leave by the time I got it. Sushi Chef Sophia? was amazing with my family, made them great rolls & even did her special "seared salmon" for them. It was the children's father bday & he loved it! She even made a super cute (& delicious) mochi plate with whip & brought it around for him with four! spoons..... When I got bill , I saw that they charged a 3% service fee and a 3% credit card transaction fee!! Build it into your cost!!I don't wanna see it if you have your price a dollar an item more. I'm not gonna notice it but when you make me pay a percentage, it just pisses me off. So I'm sure our server thought that I was just gonna pay for my two items and that the rest of it would be all on another ticket and she would get a big tip from them even though she did very little for them - It was the sushi chef who did almost everything.. let me tell you our server pissed off the wrong person because I paid the check. I had a wonderful first experience at Trapper's. Adrianna was my server, and oh wow this girl is GOOD! She recommended the Red Raspberry Lemon Drop (YUM!) and when I mentioned I couldn't find my favorite sushi roll (Philadelphia) she kindly explained that at Trapper's it's called the New York roll, and pointed to it on the menu. Adrianna was super kind and sweet during the whole experience, and even made sure my water cup never reached the half way point, but made sure to give me space to breathe and enjoy my food. The ONLY reason this place isn't getting 5 stars, is when the host tried to sit me, she couldn't find any menus and when she went to ask the manager where she could get more, the manager replied with: "and why is this my problem?" Ordered the cucumber salad, the Vader and the Mariner. Was disappointed in all three. The rolls were mushy and fell apart easy and the vader had a really larger amount of scallops on it and was unfresh. Sone scallops even hard. The order was a take out. Service was quick but not special. The restaurant looked fine inside from what I could see. Added later. I am upset to say that I had a stomach ache all evening and a hard time sleeping because of it. The food did not agree with me. Craving some sushi while at southcenter mall so I stopped at Trappers for take out. The restaurant itself was not busy but service was slow. As I waited for my to-go order I seen the host ask dine in guests to wait in the lobby to be seated "about ten mins" which is the same amount of time I was told for my order to be ready and it took at least 25 minutes. Tables were already bussed so the only thing I could see was them notifying the server that there was a new table to serve in their area. I got the trappers roll, some scallops were overcooked but you can't really mess up fried shrimp rolled into rice so my sushi was good. There is a 2% service fee added to your bill that seems sneaky and the service evening dining out was not great nor worth the price imo. read more

Everything we ordered was good with a sidenote that the $18 Vadder roll rice was gummy/pasty I think due to it being battered deep-fried (I'm not certain on their process just the end result left gummy rice). Our favorite was the Mochi flight $9.50 & calamari (although my daughter was surprised the calamari was the entire mini octopus). The hostess was good, the wait staff service was okay. Very poor service and missing rolls in the order. We placed an order to pickup for at 6:15 requesting food to be ready at 7:00. My daughter after arriving at airport stopped by early to pickup the food and was told it would be ready in 10 minutes at 7:00. They waited in a nearly empty restaurant for another 30 minutes. They finally received the food at 7:30. However, one of the rolls for my wife a vegetarian was missing. I called to complain and was put on hold for 5 minutes before I gave up. The food here is good and the prices are affordable. They have many fried roll options and lots of rolls with scallops on them which was awesome! They have weekly deals and some include all-day all you can eat lunch or dinner on certain days. Although the AYCE option is nice, I've noticed they started putting a lot more rice when I would go in for AYCE and sometimes for regular dining as well which is disappointing. We ordered soft shell crab, calamari, and edamame for appetizers (half off for happy hour!) For the rolls, there was a 3 long rolls for $33 happy hour deal - we ordered Skywalker, Rainbow, Phoenix, TIS the salmon, Thrill, and Magnificent. All of the rolls were delicious and we ended up ordering three more after our initial order. It did take a little bit for the rolls to come out after the appetizers. Was very excited to eat at Trapper's this time around cause I never knew they opened one up right at the mall. A very good location for this place to attract customers. Got in before the dinner rush and managed to get a seat at the bar for AYCE sushi. Now I zero frills from this place and intend to enjoy it for what it is which is mediocre sushi at best. The best deals are to definitely get the rolls because you'll be filling yourself up with rice if you just get nigiri. Also this is usually the best opportunity to try out as many of their rolls as you can because they are quite pricey on the regular menu. Didn't want to take a photo of all the rolls I got cause not all of them are as impressive looking. So I only snapped a few. Honestly, did not hate this place at all compared to the Kent location. I enjoyed this spot quite a bit. Sushi chefs are trained well enough to roll them right. Definitely tip them in the jars for their work. They be cranking them bad boys out real fast and be attending to you as best as they can. Friendly people too. read more

I was originally planning to try Miyabi Sushi at Parkway Square Shopping Center, but when I went, I was told that takeout orders had to be done online. I was aware of a Trapper's Sushi because I had visited a couple other restaurants at Westfield Southcenter, and so I chose to order from this sushi restaurant on the south side of Southcenter instead of Miyabi. I arrived after 7:30 PM on a Wednesday, and there was a girl manning the front desk. I asked for a takeout menu, and she said it was just the normal menu as she handed it to me. I headed over to the corner of the waiting area, which could seat plenty of people if the restaurant were full. I wasn't exactly sure what to get, but there was one that immediately caught my eye: Samantha. I'm friends with a handful of Samanthas on Yelp, but $2 from every Samantha roll purchased benefits an organization called Valley Girls & Guys. This organization's mission is to provide "personalized blankets of comfort & hope to any and all that are fighting ANY type of cancer" (from their website at https://valleygirlsandguys.org/). Sushi AND a donation to help in the fight against cancer? Why not?! I wanted to try a few other rolls besides the Samantha, but it took me a while to decide which ones to get! After a couple of minutes, I went back up to the hostess to ask her how to tell if the sushi comes with raw or cooked fish. She mentioned that I could request to have all the sushi with cooked fish, which I'd prefer over raw because in the event that I couldn't finish my meal in one sitting, I could save the rest for the next day. A quick Google search told me that cooked sushi can last 2-3 times longer than raw sushi, so I was glad to hear cooked fish could be done for all the rolls. After several minutes, I decided to go for the Andromeda Roll, Tis the Salmon roll, and, of course, the California Roll! I also wanted to go for the Smoked Salmon Nigiri, but when I placed my order with the cashier, she told me that cooked fish would have been $1 extra per roll. What?! Why didn't she tell me this the first time?? Not only that, but I also found out there was a 2% restaurant service charge as well as a Washington State bag fee of 32 cents. As a result, I chose to forgo the nigiri and settled for the four rolls I originally picked. Before I placed my order, the cashier asked me for my phone number, which I presumed at the time was so she could text me when my order was ready, but when I asked her after paying, she said that she could give me a call when my order was ready. I was told about 25 minutes, so I decided to take a walk around Westfield Southcenter during the wait. After about 20 minutes of walking around the Tukwila mall, I returned to Trapper's Sushi, and she told me they were still cooking the fish for my sushi. She estimated another 10 minutes of waiting. Since it was raining kind of hard outside, I was good with waiting inside. It was really only 5 minutes more before she came to me with a takeout bag. So the 25 minute wait was actually spot on! I asked if she included chopsticks in my order, and she said they were included alongside sashimi, wasabi, and soy sauce. When I returned to my hotel room, I was surprised to see that all four sushi rolls were in one large takeout box! I was expecting each roll to be in its own box so I'd know which roll was which. Since I picked four rolls, it was kind of hard to tell which roll was assigned to which corner of my takeout box. I didn't even bother to associate each roll with the names; I just wanted to enjoy the sushi after a long day of work. All of the rolls tasted fresh and delicious, especially with the 12 packets of soy sauce they gave me. They also gave me two small cups of wasabi and sashimi. I also saw four pairs of chopsticks in my takeout bag! If you were going to give me that many chopsticks, why not give me that many boxes too? Personally, I would have preferred four small boxes because I was hoping to eat some and take the rest to work the next day. However, since they only gave me one large bulky box that would have been much harder to carry around, I simply finished all 4 rolls in one sitting. Not something I would recommend doing, but at least I didn't feel bloated and de-energized that evening. In spite of the various grievances I spelled out from the additional upcharges/fees to the use of one larger takeout box vs. four smaller takeout boxes and even asking for my phone number when I didn't feel it was absolutely necessary, I'm still giving four stars because I would recommend trying their sushi if you have a craving for it. They have such a wide variety of rolls, and they even offer Teriyaki and Sushi entrees! Surely, there will be something for you! It's not the best sushi you'll ever have, but it's a good choice if you're famished after a long shopping trip at Southcenter! read more

Came here for all you can eat lunch sushi. The service was attentative, but a little slow due to the ratio of staff to the number of customers. This restaurant focuses on rolls and has a large range of filling, fried, sauced rolls. They do serve nigiri, but it is not part of the lunch ayce option (it is part of the more expensive ayce option that our party did not opt into), so I cannot speak to it. However, the list of nigiri options were pretty slim. Overall, if you are a sushi connoisseur I don't think this restaurant will satisfy your cravings, but if you are looking for somewhere to get a filling lunch that has sushi flavors, then this place is a viable option in the Westlake Mall. read more

Definitely come right when they open (or a little before) to make sure to snag a spot at the sushi bar to do the ayce because that's the only place in the restaurant you can do it. We came in a little later that morning, so we had to wait a bit to get two spots at the sushi bar. I had no idea that the rolls you order for ayce are basically the same size rolls as if you were to order a regular roll. I was VERY full trying to get in four rolls for the price of $24.95. I made sure to get my money worth. You do have the option during lunch time to choose between the lunch and dinner ayce menu though. However, whichever one you choose you have to stick to. So I'm sitting here in my hotel at the double tree wondering what I want to eat and I have this craving for AYCE sushi... I check out local spots close to me and find this place on the map that's literally walking distance from the hotel. I was with 2 co workers so we decided to go around 3pm when dinner started. The wait was about 15-20 min long because AYCE is at the bar and not in the normal seating area. We get to our seats (which I don't mind because I love sitting at the bar at sushi spots) and we start to order... the Chef behind the counter was wearing a red jacket and I have to say I am VERY VERY VERY VERY impressed with his work ethic. Just the simple fact that he was not only making orders for other tables (while waitresses and hosts came up and asked a bunch of questions) he was there taking OUR order.. I mean mind blown at the fact that all three of us ordered multiple different things and he remembered the order while doing others at the same time and yes without writing anything down. Very impressed and happy with the service Now let's talk about the food... AMAZING ! I'm from California and we have our good spots to go to I know I have my fav's but this place had really good sushi just the menu alone was a lot. You have both sides of the menu to choose from and it's GREAT flavor. Those are the pros now let me tell you some cons I noticed... The hosts seemed so overwhelmed by people asking about wait times and they didn't seem to have that organized that great when it comes to all you can eat. And as much as I appreciated the chef behind the bar (although he had a line of maybe 5 other guys working next to him) they seem to be VERY overwhelmed and understaffed for those guys behind the counter making the magic. There was a point I asked for an order and waited almost 20 min to get my order. Now I thought he forgot about it because he never wrote anything down and you don't write anything down. He didn't forget ! But it came very late and I noticed he was backed up with other orders. Every time I'm in Seattle, I always have to stop by here for one of my meals. On this trip I went twice in a row. The sushi here is great and the rolls are creative and tasty. The sushi team behind the bar (Adam, Tom, Joey, Shiva) were (and always have been) great! They are entertaining, as well as a master of their craft. My server was Chelly today and she was the best. Very attentive and always made sure my drink was filled. I always go for the AYCE promotion and it's well worth the cost. Can't wait to come back! read more
