We've been here a few times and there's usually 1-3 parties ahead of us. The inside is pretty large, so you can tell it's popular. The staff is courteous and efficient with no overt niceties. The booth are quite ample, too. This is a great place to come when you want conventional conveyor belt style sushi with no frills or unique twists to it. Was doing some shopping in the Southcenter area and was looking for a quick lunch spot far away from the food court in the mall. We recalled that there was a conveyor belt sushi place that we used to take the kids to called Sushi Land. The sushi restaurant was still there but now named Sushi Omiya. The interior seating looked exactly as we remembered of years before but that is most likely due to a limitation of the conveyor belt with different colored plates, each a different price ranging from $2 to $5. You can grab as much as you like but be warned that you pull it - you buy it. Ok now let's talk quality. What can you really expect the quality of sushi to be when it circles nearly the entire place on the conveyor belt and continues on the belt until someone grabs each plate? Round and round she goes. Is it fresh? Nobody knows. You really take your chances at a place like this. It is quick. There's no waiting for your order to be taken and served. You can start eating the moment you're seated. So if you just want to fill your belly quickly with something other that a tasteless McBurger then maybe this is a spot for you. I had four different plates of sushi and left full but mostly full regret. This visit was a good reminder to stick to sushi restaurants that care about quality and freshness that'll not only fill your stomach but also be much more satisfying. I eat here all the time, mostly for lunch. So finally a review! Lol. This day was a lunch day, ordered to go. They typically have your food ready within 10 minutes. Ordering by phone is quick and easy and they are always friendly over the phone and in person. The food never disappoints. Times I've sat in and ate have always been pleasant. Plenty of seating, although it can get busy here and you may have to wait to be seated. I love you can grab what you want from the belt that goes around with the food and you can special request items too. All in all, a great sushi place. My favorite local place in the area. read more

I've been here twice now and am impressed with the quality and variety of the rolls. Service is fast and no frills - they get you down and eating right away. There's a good variety of rolls on the belt - less nigiri; but I think that's a good thing because everything seems fresh and not sitting out forever. The rolls do tend to have a lot of sauce on them which are on the sweet/mayo side of things. The real good stuff is ordered through the QR code. This time I had tempura asparagus rolls, fried oysters, and seared salmon. All were really delicious, especially the fried oysters with the panko crusted outside contrasting with the perfectly cooked oyster. Two was enough, so I appreciated the portion size. Prices seem a bit more reasonable than other conveyor belt places, and I was in and out quickly which is what I wanted. read more

We missed the average cheap sushi that the closure of Marinopolis left. When we saw that another sushi restaurant took over, we had to try. The wait was just as long and we were finally seated after 45 minutes. The broken booth seat in the waiting area was still there. The food was surprising and we were excited to enjoy a meal that was above average. Even the wall art was the same. There is a weird smell in the restaurant that should make you sick but once you start eating younger use to it. For a sushi fix and if you are paying for everyone else in your party, this is a solid choice. read more

We went here because we were CRAVING sushi. The line to get in was pretty long, but we got in within 30 minutes or so. The sushi was really good, I feel like the rolls we got that night wasn't up to par as it usually is. The service was okay. I've actually never been here (sorry, can't speak to ambiance) but Sushi Omiya is my go to delivery sushi place, and it's always delicious. Some of my favorite items are the tuna and seared salmon sashimi, which are always fresh and tender. I also love the Lion King Roll and the Crazy Salmon Roll. Came in for sushi on a Saturday afternoon, were seated immediately, and immediately started eating haha. The pros of conveyor belt food. The sushi itself was not bad. I mainly eat nigiris, so I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the fish. Salmon and escolar were both rich and fresh and h enjoyed those the most. Spicy tuna was also good. Scallops were okay, not the worst I've had, but also not one of the better ones. Ordering online is super fast, the sushi chefs hand you the dishes directly which was good. Overall, this was okay! There's definitely more roll variety here than nigiri and I'm more of a nigiri girl. The pricing is pretty fair, and service is fast. I visited this afternoon (12/28) at 4:30 PM and, unfortunately, had a very poor experience with our server (male with glasses). While the food was quite good, the service was unprofessional and dismissive. Instead of coming to our table, the server shouted drink orders at us from across the room at the cash register. When we requested a highchair, he responded with a dismissive "I know, I know," but never actually brought it. He never checked back on us once during the meal. They get three stars because their service is lacking. Staff is not attentive; they will direct me to a seat but rarely ask whether I want a beverage or water. Not very welcoming or friendly either. Sushi omiya has always been one of our favorites for cheaper and easy sushi. We love the conveyer belt style to try new things and the QR code menu to order more personalized food to our liking. The food always tastes great, but we have noticed that the equipment around the conveyer belt is quite dirty. There is lots of dust and build up. Came here on a Friday night with my family of 5 and waited for about maybe 30-45 minutes for a table? For a conveyor belt sushi place, my husband and I agreed that the sushi quality was good! The salmon nigiri cost about 3.50 for 2 pcs and tasted pretty fresh (even though I had low expectation because of the color). All the sushi rolls was pretty decent and tasted good. I love that this place was kid friendly and my kids had sushi roll options that they were able to eat . The service was kinda mediocre. The stuff that we ordered on the menu didn't come out til we were almost halfway done with our meal. The price was pretty good! We spent about 70 dollars for a family of five with drinks for almost everybody. If you are looking for a conveyor belt sushi place . This place is probably on the top of my list . read more

Great sushi and friendly service! Usually conveyer belt places have pretty so-so or slow service but I was really impressed by the workers here. We were sat in the far corner next to the kitchen so I thought it'd be hard to get someone's attention but thankfully they came around quite often. Sushi tasted fresh and loved the variety! We picked some dishes off of the conveyer belt to start then ordered takoyaki and tempura udon off of their paper sheet. Ended up spending under $40 for 2 people and we left very full.
