Crab roll with tuna snd avocado (lacked any real taste)

Was doing some shopping in the Southcenter area and was looking for a quick lunch spot far away from the food court in the mall. We recalled that there was a conveyor belt sushi place that we used to take the kids to called Sushi Land. The sushi restaurant was still there but now named Sushi Omiya. The interior seating looked exactly as we remembered of years before but that is most likely due to a limitation of the conveyor belt with different colored plates, each a different price ranging from $2 to $5. You can grab as much as you like but be warned that you pull it - you buy it. Ok now let's talk quality. What can you really expect the quality of sushi to be when it circles nearly the entire place on the conveyor belt and continues on the belt until someone grabs each plate? Round and round she goes. Is it fresh? Nobody knows. You really take your chances at a place like this. It is quick. There's no waiting for your order to be taken and served. You can start eating the moment you're seated. So if you just want to fill your belly quickly with something other that a tasteless McBurger then maybe this is a spot for you. I had four different plates of sushi and left full but mostly full regret. This visit was a good reminder to stick to sushi restaurants that care about quality and freshness that'll not only fill your stomach but also be much more satisfying. Will probably never return

I eat here all the time, mostly for lunch. So finally a review! Lol. This day was a lunch day, ordered to go. They typically have your food ready within 10 minutes. Ordering by phone is quick and easy and they are always friendly over the phone and in person. The food never disappoints. Times I've sat in and ate have always been pleasant. Plenty of seating, although it can get busy here and you may have to wait to be seated. I love you can grab what you want from the belt that goes around with the food and you can special request items too. All in all, a great sushi place. My favorite local place in the area.

Not completely sure the name of this roll but it had mango and crab.

I've been here twice now and am impressed with the quality and variety of the rolls. Service is fast and no frills - they get you down and eating right away. There's a good variety of rolls on the belt - less nigiri; but I think that's a good thing because everything seems fresh and not sitting out forever. The rolls do tend to have a lot of sauce on them which are on the sweet/mayo side of things. The real good stuff is ordered through the QR code. This time I had tempura asparagus rolls, fried oysters, and seared salmon. All were really delicious, especially the fried oysters with the panko crusted outside contrasting with the perfectly cooked oyster. Two was enough, so I appreciated the portion size. Prices seem a bit more reasonable than other conveyor belt places, and I was in and out quickly which is what I wanted.

Lunch date with the hubby means one thing sushi time! We stopped by Sushi Omiya, one of our go-to spots when we're craving sushi but don't want to spend too much. I love that you can pick whatever catches your eye off the conveyor belt and order extra items through the app super convenient (and slightly dangerous when you're starving ). The service was okay and the ambiance was relaxed, not too busy, which made it easy to enjoy our meal. The food was decent nothing super fancy, but fresh and satisfying for a casual sushi fix. Just be warned... when your eyes are bigger than your stomach, those cute little plates add up fast! Overall, Sushi Omiya is a solid choice for an easy, affordable sushi craving and always hits the spot when we want something quick and tasty.

We went here because we were CRAVING sushi. The line to get in was pretty long, but we got in within 30 minutes or so. The sushi was really good, I feel like the rolls we got that night wasn't up to par as it usually is. The service was okay. Although, I feel like the sushi chefs were staring at us everytime we ordered so it felt kind of awkward lol.

I thought this place was a bomb fantastic, fast service, quality of food was actually way better than I expected with thickness of their sushi. Price is quite reasonably. You are not at a high end sushi place. Quality and quantity of the food as well as choice of rolls were great.

Started off strong with the uni shot, which was really good, and the sashimi fresh, clean, and exactly what you want from a sushi spot. We also ordered the mushroom and pumpkin salad with spinach, which tasted great, but at $20, it felt a bit overpriced for what it was. The rolls, unfortunately, didn't live up to how they looked. Presentation was definitely there, but the flavor just didn't hit. On top of that, they were falling apart pretty easily when picked up with chopsticks, which made them a little frustrating to eat. Service was solid overall staff was attentive despite how busy it was but they did miss our hamachi kama, which was a bit of a letdown. A couple things to note: this place is cash only, and it gets very busy, so expect a bit of a wait. That said, the vibe is nice, and the design of the space is something I actually liked. Would I come back? Probably for sashimi and appetizers but I might skip the rolls next time.

Besides, family was coming in at SeaTac and we recently moved back to the Renton/Kent/Tukwila area so with the use of GPS, they'd be able to find the restaurant. We met together at the same time. The restaurant has changed considerably. Previously the menu included Korean dishes, but with new management, Korean fare was removed from the menu, much to our surprise. The Kalbi/Bulgogi was excellent and we would order a Bento-style box meal which included the Korean specialties. Though somewhat disappointed, the new menu provided so many new sushi choices, we were distracted from the missing preparations. The Sushi/Sashimi platter was our first order, to give us more time to peruse the great looking menu. Our initial order arrived which appeared so enticing with the fresh (raw) portions of buttery salmon, tuna, Ahi, Nigiri and a California Roll. Excellent! Then came the Sweet Dreams & Sounder rolls and Ikura (2-pieces) and a Special Agent roll. Least I forget to mention Asahi bottled beer (regular & non-alcoholic) to round off the meal. Due to not having the Korean ingredients, only four stars this time. The ambiance of the restaurant seems to have changed over the years. There were perhaps 10-12 other diners whereas during our previous visits the restaurant would be crowded and bustling with a cacophony of voices discussing menu choices. It was 5:00PM on a Saturday evening and crowds were usually expected. Service was excellent, the waiter was patient and provided lots of information about the new ownership & menu. The sashimi was fresh & tasty and sushi rolls were expertly prepared. Sushi Today continues to be highly recommended if you're in the Renton area.
