We originally planned to stop by the bar at Tre Dita for just one drink before heading to another restaurant for dinner. The moment we stepped off the elevator onto the restaurant level from our room at the St. Regis, though, we knew our plans were about to change. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was incredible. The place was buzzing with people, the energy was lively, and the space is absolutely beautiful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We managed to grab two seats at the bar and were greeted almost immediately by the attentive bartenders. I ordered the Hugo Spritz, and my husband had a Negroni. We honestly weren't planning on staying long, so I didn't even bother taking photos at first. Then we ordered the braised short rib meatballs... and that was the turning point. They were hands down one of the best appetizers we've had. In fact, I might go back today just for those meatballs! After that, we decided to stay for dinner. We shared the New York strip and the tagliatelle al ragù. The pasta was absolutely phenomenal--rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The steak was good, though not quite as memorable as everything else, but honestly, we didn't care. Between the amazing food, the cocktails, the lively atmosphere, and the gorgeous setting, the entire experience was fantastic. If you're staying at the St. Regis or just looking for a great night out in Chicago, I highly recommend grabbing a seat at the bar at Tre Dita. It ended up being one of our favorite dining experiences of the trip.

Came here to celebrate my husband's birthday, and overall I'd give it 3 stars. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself is beautiful and has a great atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was packed on the night we visited, which speaks to its popularity.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was excellent throughout the evening friendly, attentive, and accommodating. To start, we ordered the focaccia bread and burrata salad. Both were delicious. The focaccia was easily one of my favorite parts of the meal, especially with the generous amount of Parmesan on top. The burrata was fresh and flavorful, although I do wish it came with some toasted bread or crostini to complement it. For dinner, we ordered two 8 oz filets, the ricotta ravioli, cacio e pepe, and lamb chops. The steaks were cooked beautifully juicy, tender, and exactly the temperature we requested. However, I felt like nearly everything was heavily salted. The pasta dishes and steaks all seemed to have an excessive amount of salt, which overpowered some of the flavors. The cacio e pepe was also a surprisingly small portion for the price. The lamb chops were probably my least favorite dish of the evening. The sauce itself was tasty, but the lamb lacked flavor and just didn't stand out the way I expected it to. For dessert, we ordered the Devil's Food Cake. It was enjoyable, but I'd recommend asking about the dessert ingredients beforehand, as some options contain alcohol. The staff was accommodating and able to make modifications when possible. A couple things were disappointing for a birthday celebration. We adjusted our reservation a few hours beforehand and arrived around 9:30 PM, but weren't seated until nearly 9:55 PM. I understand they were busy, but it was still a bit frustrating. I was also surprised there wasn't any acknowledgment of the birthday no candle or small celebratory touch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, the service and ambiance were the highlights of the experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] While there were some dishes I enjoyed, the food felt overpriced for what we received, especially considering the portion sizes and heavy seasoning. I'd consider returning for the atmosphere and appetizers, but I don't think it lived up to the expectations of a special occasion dinner.

This is my new favorite Italian restaurant! The texture of the pastas were all amazing. We started off with a few mocktails. I liked both La Pernaccia and Garibaldi-ish, but La Pernaccia was on the sour side so I liked Garibaldi-ish better. The meatballs was brisket texture, it was good. We had the patate fritte as well and I loved this side dish. I can probably finish it on my own... We got 3 pastas. First we had the papardelle al cinghiale and it had wild boar. It was good. Second we had the strozzapreti alla vaccinara and that was with oxtail. This was my favorite pasta!!!! The pasta was a little chewy (which I enjoyed) and it is not too salty or anything. I will definitely get this again. Lastly we had rigatoni con guanciale e pomodorini and it was good too. It was a little more salty tho. Would be amazing if it isn't as salty. The tomatoes were very juicy. Then we had dessert which I did not include in photos. We had the tre dita gatto which was like a choco cake and it's got some dark cherries on the side. It adds a nice touch. The chocolate itself would've been too sweet, but with cherries it was amazing. I'm not a big sweets person normally but I really enjoyed this cake. It was suppppper smooth. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was nice and the view was beautiful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server was very attentive as well. This is my new favorite spot and I can't wait to try other dishes!

Revisited for Mother's Day weekend this year and it did not disappoint! If youre having trouble finding a reservation, I recently learned you can snag an easy one in the main room if you have a Mastercard. Just type in Google "Tre Dita Mastercard" and it should pop up - super easy! Ordered the GAMBERI IN SALSA VERDE since I saw a bunch of people love that and it was also recommended by the waiter. Really good - idk how they made that green sauce, but I was drinking it by the spoon haha. Wish I would've ordered the bread to soak it all up. We also ordered the PICI CACIO E PEPE, STROZZAPRETI ALLA VACCINARA and GNUDI DI SPINACI pastas. All were amazing! You can tell the pasta is handmade and it is thick and has such a lovely chew to it. Seriously tastes like elevated homemade pasta. The oxtail rage one had to be my favorite, but the cacio e pepe was a very close second. Last but definitely not least, for dessert we ordered the TRE DITA GATTÒ & highly recommended by the waiter DOLCE AL PISTACCHIO. Honestly, I had seen so much rave on the chocolate cake online I was so excited for that one, BUT that Pistachio CAAAAAKKKE. O.M.G. That one blew me away. With all the Dubai chocolate pistachio cream hype, I was expecting a sugar bomb, but this was nothing like that. This cake was sooooo good and very subtly sweet. It had such a rich nutty flavor to it - easily my favorite dish of the night! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The service was amazing, we were seated by the window with a beautiful view of the city. We arrived before sunset and left at dark - it was so beautiful to see the vibes change in real time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Once again, if you're looking to go out for a special occasion, this is the spot!

Tre Dita is a beautiful restaurant with delicious food! The interior is very elegant and makes the meal all the more enjoyable. The staff are all amazing and great! To start, we ordered the Flori de Fiori di Zucca ($26), Schiacciata Bianca ($11), Polpette di Brasato ($26), and Burrata e Crudo ($34). I forgot that the Flori had ricotta inside so that was a surprise when I bit into it. Our waiter cuts the burrata and pours the oil on top. The burrata was delicious and great to share. The focaccia was very light and delicious as well. No need for butter on the bread. The Polpette was good but nothing amazing. I would say that I would skip the Polpette and Flori next time. For the pastas, we ordered the Linguine al Limone ($29), Trofie al Pesto ($42), and the Strozzapreti alla Vaccinara ($34). All the pastas were delicious! We loved them all. I would say that they are on the smaller side and I was still hungry after eating our apps and pastas. Fortunately we also had a couple steaks coming which filled me up. For the steaks we ordered the King River Ribeye (wagyu) ($220) and the Costata Alla Fiorentina ($240). The Australian Wagyu was my favorite. It melts in your mouth and was amazing. It made the other ribeye just taste not as good. The other ribeye was delicious, but didn't compare to the wagyu. Even though we were full, we still ordered a couple of dessert. We ordered the Dolce al Pistacchio ($21) and the Tiramisu Classico ($19). Both were delicious and very beautiful. The Tiramisu caught all of our eyes as the top showed the firehorse as it is the year of the firehorse. It was fun as the top you get to crack open for the tiramisu. We enjoyed our dinner very much and everything was delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant as it is great for a lovely dinner with great food.

Visited Tre Dita for Valentine's Day and everything was beautiful...from the view and decor to the overall ambience. The food was delicious; I had the pappardelle al cinghiale and really enjoyed it, and the wine was great as well. Our service was really good and made the experience even better. My boyfriend was obsessed with the bread (he ordered 3 loaves lol). My only wish is that adding protein to the pasta dishes was an option. Overall, a great experience and I'd definitely go back!

A few days ago, I went with my family for dinner at Tre Dita to celebrate a birthday. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was just as nice as you'd expect, with a great view that unfortunately isn't as great for photo lighting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The waiting area as you enter is gorgeous, with beautiful gold lighting and elegant marble floors. There was even a velvet rope separating the dining area from the waiting area![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] To start, we ordered a schiacciata bianca, which was super soft, airy, and just the right amount of salty. My family was very tempted to order another! It was filling without being too heavy, and it made the wait time seem short. For reference, we waited around 5-10 minutes for the bread and another 10 minutes for the rest of the food. I ordered the rigatoncini all' arrabbiata. Overall it was alright, and the pasta itself was good. However, there was a large portion of what looked like pure oil sitting at the bottom of the dish, and the dish came with too much cheese that made it hard to appreciate the pasta. I'd recommend asking for lighter sauce and cheese on the side. Also, the pasta wasn't as spicy as I hoped (or expected, from the literal pepper on the top), so you might want to ask for pepper flakes on the side as well. My sister ordered the linguine al limone, and I stole a few bites (but forgot to take a picture...). This dish was incredible! The pasta was chewy and delicious, and the sauce had a lemon flavor that made every bite taste fresh and light. This lighter sauce definitely brought out the handmade pasta's quality better than my dish. Lastly, we ordered a New York strip for the table. The spices in the meat's crust were excellent, but the dish cooled very quickly because it was sliced, and it got hard to eat the last few bites. The service throughout the night was lovely, and our waitress gave my mom a free small dessert with a cute candle! We ended the evening satisfied. I took off one star for the subpar pasta I ordered, but otherwise, this restaurant was the perfect way to celebrate my mom's birthday.

The perfect location for a celebration or special occasion! Amazing interior, skyline views, outstanding food and service! Elevated Italian that still feels comfortable. Pro Tip: reservations are hard to come by but grab a seat at the bar for food and drinks!

(Kari's Rating 9.25/10) Came with a friend without a reservation on a Tuesday evening at 4 PM for an early dinner. Even though we didn't have a reservation, we were seated right away in a small corner spot. We got a small spot in the corner and it was so beautiful with the sun setting. We were seated in our server Mark greeted us right away. He was having critically knowledgeable about the drink menu, and I ordered the L'Inizio. They gave us a little shot of vermouth as a palate cleanser. Mark told us that the food would just come out as it was ready. We ordered the deep-fried gnocchi, the Burrata salad, the tomato focaccia and for our mains we ordered a New York strip and the parpardalle a ragu. You can definitely tell the pasta was homemade, and the sauce was very light. The New York strip was delicious and cooked perfectly as I always get it medium rare-more on rare side. It was a lot of food as always and I had plenty of leftovers to take home. I was between the double chocolate cake and the pistachio, but I decided to go a limb and get the pistachio cake to go. I was pleasantly surprised how delicious the pistachio dessert was and I definitely continue thinking about it. Would come back for the vibes and the server as Mark was incredibly personable!

The food was good, but the attention to detail was very disappointing. We came here to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday, and I handed birthday candles to the host to give to our server. Unfortunately, the server completely forgot about them. It wasn't a busy night--it was a weekday--so that made it even more disappointing. For the prices they charge, I expected much better service and attention. I can see why most of their awards are for their architecture and not quality.

Me and my boyfriend came here for our 2 year anniversary this past weekend. I had heard of the restaurant on social media and we decided to try it out. We got there late for our reservation, but they were still able to seat us. It may have been because we went in the afternoon around 5pm since reservations are pretty hard to get here. We had to try both steak and pasta, which were probably the best we've had! It was so delicious, but my favorite was their asparagus side! I believe they have seasonal or temporary asparagus dishes at the moment, so I would definitely give it a try! Upscale, elegance and very diligent service match perfectly with the handcrafted menu that knocks it out of the park. YUM!! The bread is the best bread I've ever had I think. I could eat the whole loaf myself. Gnocchi was lovely for the app. Pasta wise, I enjoyed the arrabbiata a lot more than the linguini because I felt flavor fatigue faster with the linguini. That being said, they were both so delicious in their own right. Tiramisu was fantastic! Our server, Josiah, was super accommodating and helped recommend the dishes as well! The restaurant was packed as expected for a Sunday night so it was still a little wait even though we had a reservation. The views of the city from the big windows are spectacular. I'd love to visit again sometime!

I had an absolute awesome experience at Tre Dita. Vibe , food and service was a 10/10. Located in the St Regis hotel, Tre Rita is an upscale Italian restaurant offering the best views of Chicago accompanied by fantastic Tuscan inspired food . We had the house baked focaccia, Gamberi in Salsa Verde ( Shrimp), traditional Tuscan hand made pasta, Filleti Di Manzo ( Steak) , Patate Fritte ( Potatoes), and Espresso Gelati . Each dish was freshly prepared and tasted delicious. The steak is creekstone so people looking for Halal options can check it out. I was blown away by the decor and the high ceiling. The floor to ceiling glass windows offer a beautiful view of Chicago while dining. read more

I can't name a better place to spend my birthday dinner. I can't get enough of Tre Dita. Love this place so much I settled for a 5:45pm reservation. No early bird special ;) First time have a table in the dining room. It's much easier to get a reservation at Bar Tre Dita. Both sides feel intimate so can't go wrong with either side. My goal is to try all the menu items. I was so bummed that the best thing on the menu was seasonal and wasn't available. I hope they bring back their pesto pasta. Pretty please. read more

This place was so good... It's located in the St Regis building on the 2nd floor. The focaccia blanca was so good. It was probably the best I've ever had. The bread was so light and fluffy, and the light olive oil and rosemary, as well as the flaky salt were incredible. I also got the anchovies. They came with super light and crispy bread slices to put the anchovies on. The anchovies were in a parsley with oil and the saltiness was really nice. And the oil was really infused with parsley/herbs. The anchovies had a really nice texture too. I enjoyed the rigatoni dish wish guanciale. The handmade pasta had the perfect consistency, and the guanciale is good. Highlight was the bursting tomatoes. Dessert gave a complimentary chocolate mousse kinda thing. It was coffee and good too there was caramel. The bottom for the glass container had a sticky dollop of maybe sugar water to prevent sliding. That's attention to detail! Service was highly knowledgeable, and the ambiance was fancy. The only thing is many people arrived at 2pm, and we were slightly delayed in seating. Put this place on your list when visiting chicago. Tre dita has a beautiful view and def gives speakeasy vibes. The drinks are strong and the shrimp and gnocchi bites were delicious. If you are looking for a place to grab apps and drinks with friends I highly recommend. Also grabbing a reservation is key however they do have seats at the bar. The service is great and the staff was attentive and provided recommendations that did not feel like they were selecting the highest price item. I will be back! read more

I loved this place. This place reminded me of being in nyc with the ambiance and the views. Our server was so kind and professional. We ordered SCHIACCIATA BIANCA, FIORI DI ZUCCA, LINGUINE AL LIMONE, PICI CACIO E PEPE and they provided a small bite of dessert. I would probably skip the fiori de zucca all together but everything else was amazing. I want to go back and try more pasta dishes. We also had a glass of wine and tried two cocktails. My friends and I stayed up until 11:59pm, 7 days in advance, to score this reservation-- with a level of dedication that can only be applied to events in the realm of Eras Tour tickets. TL;DR: it was worth it. Stunning ambiance, gorgeous views from the St. Regis Hotel. We were told that we could have a sommelier come to the table and help us out, but we chose to trust the advice of our amazing server David-- and he did not steer us wrong all night! Loved the moscato he helped us pick out. 12/10 for service and humor. Complimentary delicious shot as soon as we sat down, which was delicious. The schiacciata bianca (focaccia bread) was light and fluffy, the type to melt in your mouth. MUST try. The bruschetta classica was fine-- very good, but not groundbreaking. Rigatoncini all'arrabiatta was a pretty classic dish with the perfect amount of spice. I wish I had tried one of the more unique options (and as a vegetarian, I was happy to see plenty). To be fair, David did recommend a couple others like the gnudi di spinaci, so I'll have to come back to try it. Obviously this place is pretty pricey, but it's worth it for a lovely fine dining experience. Perfect spot for a celebration or a special night out. read more

The ambiance is completely a 5 star experience. Romantic, Elegant and Upscale. The drinks were delicious. The waitress knocked over a drink and it completely splattered all over me. She removed the drink from the bill but offered NOTHING but napkins for my wet clothing. Two stars removed for this lack of service. I was completely disappointed and mortified. A complimentary round or a second drink removed would have been best. The starters were delicious! The squash blossoms and meatballs were amazing. The meatball is not what you expect. They literally taste like fried pot roast. Seriously a must try. Two stars also removed for the pasta dishes. The spaghetti was probably the best out of the 3 we tried. DO NOT GET THE LASAGNA. This dish was awful. End of story: come for the vibes, the drinks and antipasto and enjoy your evening. LOL read more

This is the second time I've been to this restaurant. We went earlier this year a few months after they had opened, waiting for them to work the kinks out, and we're impressed with everything. First of all the room is stunning. The floor ceiling soaring windows and view is one of the best in Chicago. Everything we had to eat from the Panzanella salad, to the 64 ounce ribeye was excellent. Our waiter was one we remembered from RPM Seafood. Unfortunately, I can't say the same thing about this visit. Again, the Panella salad was great, stuffed Squash Blossoms. We're very good and the oxtail pasta was excellent. The things We were not happy with were the Cacio de Pepe and the Bone in ribeye. The pasta is normally a spaghetti type of pasta and this used a thicker pasta that we did not care for. As To the steak, it did not have the flavor we expected, and the meat was very tough. Additionally, we asked for it to be prepared, medium, and it came out more a medium rare. My last comment is regarding the service. Our server failed on many points items that were supposed to be delivered to the table when we sat down, never arrived., Drinks took exceedingly long, we had to request additional cocktails as he never asked us if we wanted something. Overall, it is just not the service I would expect from this level of Restaurant. read more

"Review is solely for a cocktail" With that tiny tidbit aside for $24 this was a bitter mess & caused me to not pursue this place any further. I tend to go to these Uber popular & Uber expensive places & trust my first impression. My experience here was divine! I highly recommend making a reservation during the firework show. Our waiter was kind and gave advice on what to order and even gave us a bit of information about the restaurant which I always appreciate. The food we had was amazing, and I will be coming back to order pasta as I felt too stuffed from what I had ordered to try it when I went! The one star rating is due to how we were greeted by the three hosts when we walked in the restaurant. Not a smile or a pleasant word. We were a party of four for dinner, told to wait a few minutes. So we took a few steps into the bar area to look at it, and then one of the male hosts rudely told us, " the bar is at capacity " and we could Not look around! To my eye the bar was only fifty percent full. There were many open bar stools and empty tables. The host hurried us out of the bar area and back to the waiting area. Very disappointing. Once seated, the dining experience was outstanding! The woman who took our drink and food order was delightful! It is a shame that our first impression of this restaurant was such a negative one, however that is what the four of us will remember of our evening at Tre Dita. read more

Tre Dita was an immaculate experience from start to finish. Immediately upon arrival you are greeted with top tier hospitality and the feeling that a really good meal is inevitable. The set up is all around impressive but it was the service and quality of the food that made this such a memorable experience. We visited for our 4 year anniversary and were seated near the kitchen. This made for a very immersive experience that elevated the dining. When you are seated, you are brought a complimentary shot which was a nice touch. Hottest new restaurant in Chicago located on the 2nd floor at the St. Regis. Visually this place is stunning. We were only able to grab table in bar area, but I snuck over to the main dining area and wow is it beautiful. Would be the most beautiful spot for date or proposal! This place was hopping on a Friday evening. Like I mentioned, we sat in bar area, which they do offer full dining menu there. Drinks were excellent, I had the Tre which was perfect. Other drinks we loved included the espresso martini and we also had the Som help us select a bottle of wine for dinner. In regards to food, we shared several pasta dishes. We started with the burrata and panzanella, both delicious. Pastas included the pappardelle with duck, spaghetti and clams and the cacio e Pepe. All truly excellent. Pastas are made in house! Dined here for my birthday and was able to snag a reservation in the dining room. The entire place is quite gorgeous and the view is beautiful! Overall everything was super flavorful and perfectly cooked, you really can taste the quality of the fresh pasta and our server was very kind and knowledgeable and accommodating due to allergies and was quick to tell us what we were able to order or not or if they're able to change things up! Would definitely return to try the other pastas! We started with the gnocchi fritti and the panzanella salad. Both were great, just wish that the gnocchi had a little more sauce. Also ordered the ribeye cap which was cooked perfectly and had a great crust! We ordered the rigatoni and the ravioli and we enjoyed the rigatoni the most. Phenomenal food and phenomenal service! This is one of the best meals I've ever had in Chicago! Be ready to spend a pretty penny and get your reservations in advance!! They book up fast, but it's because they are SO GOOD. They were packed on a Thursday night but the ambiance still felt cozy and alive. Every single thing we ordered was outstanding. Completely infatuated with this restaurant. Beautiful ambiance and view from where we were seated, pasta was delicious and fresh, lamb chops were cooked to perfection, and drinks were amazing. Too bad there is not a zero rating. I called them to schedule a dinner for 9 people. Looked through their menu to see what was the best fit. Wanted to go with their $135/person share menu. I received 4 different responses from their managers. Very positive feedback from all except the last one (finalizing the process). This is her answer: "Hello ****, We could absolutely help with this but we would likely want to look at elevating the menu as the minimum spend is $7500. For a group of 9, we would be looking at a per person spend of $833 prior to any taxes, gratuity, etc. Is this something that could work for you? I have now been here twice, once in the bar table seating and once in the dining room seating. Both room have great views of the lake and city. The cocktails are good though quite expensive. The food is phenomenal. I have tried the bruschetta classica, fiori di zucca, gnocchi fritti, alici marinate, linguine al limone, and trofie al pesto. Both pastas were some of the best I've had in the city. Fiori di zucca is a must to try at least once and if you love anchovies, definitely get the alici marinate. Tre Dita is a beautiful restaurant in the St. Regis, which focuses on design and decor that is meant to exude ambiance. While only located on the second floor, it also offers great views of the downtown skyline. The service is also top notch, from the experienced bar staff to the knowledgeable servers. As for the food, it was solid, but in a city full of great Italian restaurants, it didn't have the wow factor to put it ahead of the pack. A solid four stars for sure. We ordered some appetizers (anchovies and burrata with prosciutto) and pastas (tagliatelle, rigatoni and pappaardelle). All the pastas were executed well and tasted like great handmade pasta should. Only complaint was the rigatoni was overly salty likely because of the guanciale, but otherwise the pastas were fresh and had good flavor. The portions are generous and designed for sharing. The price point was high but consistent for this class of restaurant. Expect to pay almost $40 for a pasta and about double that for a protein. While we wanted to try to veal chop, I thought $84 was pretty high so we didn't order it. Cocktails are also not cheap, as we got two martinis made with Titos and they were $24 each. The server noted the burrata didn't come with any bread but offered to bring some toasts with it, which we saw was a $6 charge on the bill. They really push people to order their focaccia but we didn't want to be stuffed since we were having pasta, but I'm sure it's good since a lot of tables were ordering it. read more

I made reservations for my birthday at Bar Tre Dita. You still have access to the full menu but different ambiance and view outside. It's still really beautiful. Started off with the focaccia and it was a 10/10. Very fluffy, light, soft, and honestly some of the best focaccia I've ever tasted. The highlight! The people sitting next to me asked me if o was a good critic! Haha - best compliment ever! But disappointment of a restaurant.

So let me just jump right in on the ribs. They were ABSOLUTELY no where to being on a top 10 list of ribs so not sure where or who gave them the title of (best) but it definitely falls in the category of false advertisement. They were pretty tough and flavor was average at best. The chicken was moist and pretty good as were all the sides. The best part for me was the apple pie. Definitely changed my mood after the disappointment of the ribs. I'm not condemning this place but I can't recommend it either based on the misleading rib statement so proceed with caution!

Okay... Tre Dita absolutely lived up to the hype. The first thing you see when you walk in is this little pasta lab where they're literally making the pasta fresh by hand... so before you even sit down you already know you're in for something good. We started with the panzanella salad with burrata... SO good. Fresh, flavorful, and the burrata was perfect. Adam also had the blue prawns (I'm allergic), and he would not stop talking about how good they were. He said the lemon sauce was incredible and that they were cooked perfectly. For pasta we went all in ofc... we had the Linguine al Limone, the Pici Cacio e Pepe, and the oxtail ragù pasta. Every. Single. One. was delicious. The lemon linguine was probably my favorite... sooo light, fresh, and refreshing without being heavy. The cacio e pepe was one of those dishes where they just nail the classic. And the oxtail ragù... WOW. Oxtail is honestly hard to do well, and they absolutely killed it. The flavor was incredible. Dessert was amazing too. They brought us a pistachio cake that was delicious... and then surprised us with this little chocolate espresso dessert in a tiny glass that was honestly the perfect ending. BUT... the real reason I'm writing this review is because of our server, Gabriel D. Since I have a shellfish allergy, he did an amazing job making sure everything I ordered was safe. He was knowledgeable, attentive, and made me feel completely comfortable eating there. That kind of attention to detail really means a lot when you have food allergies. And then.. halfway through dinner my dress decided it no longer wanted to participate.The zipper completely busted open on the side and I was MORTIFIED. I'm sitting there trying to discreetly hold my dress together with a napkin while internally panicking lol. I finally told Gabriel what happened, and he couldn't have handled it any better. He immediately showed me a more private area instead of having me walk through a crowded restaurant, and he even had one of the female staff members waiting to help escort me over. It was such a thoughtful, classy thing to do. What could've been one of the most embarrassing moments ever actually turned into something we were laughing about because everyone was so kind. Great food is one thing... but people remember how you make them feel. Gabriel D. went above and beyond, and because of him, I'll forever remember Tre Dita for the AMAZING food... and for surviving my dress' very public resignation. We'll absolutely be back. read more

We went to Tre Dita Saturday October 5th. Their website doesn't mention that although the restaurant is open until 1 am they stop serving food at 11 pm. We arrived at 10:55 pm but had to wait in 10 minutes for the male host to seat 2 groups before us. Although he was not rude he had a cold attitude. When it was our turn he informed me that the restaurant only was doing drink service. He said food stopped at 11 pm. I remarked it was 11:07pm at that point & he said their was nothing he could do. He then made me fell rushed to make a decision. Did I still want a table or not because there were other people waiting to be seated. My girlfriend really wanted to try Tre Dita because of it's hype. So we had them seat us. It took only 5 minutes to get water which is normal. It took 20 minutes for our waiter to come to our table. Our waiter was very rude to us. It took another 20 minutes for us to receive our drinks. My girlfriend Espresso martini was good my daiquiri was terrible. We never saw our waiter again for at least 15 minutes so I drank it anyway. From the moment we sat down all the tables around us were getting served food. I asked our waiter could we get any food. He was rude & said no. Our drinks & the drinks at the tables around us were all served barley half full. Which is a pet peeve of mine. The place was clean & beautiful but the service was poor. My girlfriend really wants to try the food & asked if we could give it another try so we can taste the food. I love my girlfriend & want to make her happy. Our 4 year anniversary is coming up soon so I will give Tre Dita another try. Hopefully we will have a better experience. read more

Tre Dita, Chicago's newest Italian spot in the St. Regis building, is the new hype restaurant in the city, and it definitely lives up to the hype! We tried almost all the vegetarian options, and everything was exceptional. For starters, we had the Schiacciata Bianca focaccia, which was super flavorful, fresh, and fluffy. The small plates included bruschetta, fiori di zucca, and gnocchi fritti. They were indeed small, but all three were delicious. My favorites were the gnocchi fritti and the bruschetta. Moving on to the main dishes, the cacio e pepe was the chef's special and was really good, though nothing too extraordinary. The gnudi di spinaci, a ravioli/gnocchi kind of dish, was filled with spinach, ricotta, mushrooms, and Parmesan cheese. It was super flavorful and really good! My favorite pasta was the rigatoni al arrabbiata, which was cheesy, spicy, and just plain delicious. If you like spicy food, I definitely recommend it! The pesto pasta was my least favorite of the pastas but still really good. For dessert, the tiramisu was delicious, and the pear gelato, while not my favorite, was enjoyed by everyone else. The views are amazing, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering a stunning view of the city. It's definitely on the pricier side, but I highly recommend it. Portions are on the smaller side, so consider over-ordering or sharing multiple dishes. It's hard to get a reservation, but they usually have same-day reservations available for late in the evening.
