We originally planned to stop by the bar at Tre Dita for just one drink before heading to another restaurant for dinner. The moment we stepped off the elevator onto the restaurant level from our room at the St. Regis, though, we knew our plans were about to change. The atmosphere was incredible. The place was buzzing with people, the energy was lively, and the space is absolutely beautiful. We managed to grab two seats at the bar and were greeted almost immediately by the attentive bartenders. I ordered the Hugo Spritz, and my husband had a Negroni. We honestly weren't planning on staying long, so I didn't even bother taking photos at first. Then we ordered the braised short rib meatballs... and that was the turning point. They were hands down one of the best appetizers we've had. In fact, I might go back today just for those meatballs! After that, we decided to stay for dinner. We shared the New York strip and the tagliatelle al ragù. The pasta was absolutely phenomenal--rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The steak was good, though not quite as memorable as everything else, but honestly, we didn't care. Between the amazing food, the cocktails, the lively atmosphere, and the gorgeous setting, the entire experience was fantastic. If you're staying at the St. Regis or just looking for a great night out in Chicago, I highly recommend grabbing a seat at the bar at Tre Dita. It ended up being one of our favorite dining experiences of the trip.

Came here to celebrate my husband's birthday, and overall I'd give it 3 stars. The restaurant itself is beautiful and has a great atmosphere. It was packed on the night we visited, which speaks to its popularity. Service was excellent throughout the evening friendly, attentive, and accommodating. To start, we ordered the focaccia bread and burrata salad. Both were delicious. The focaccia was easily one of my favorite parts of the meal, especially with the generous amount of Parmesan on top. The burrata was fresh and flavorful, although I do wish it came with some toasted bread or crostini to complement it. For dinner, we ordered two 8 oz filets, the ricotta ravioli, cacio e pepe, and lamb chops. The steaks were cooked beautifully juicy, tender, and exactly the temperature we requested. However, I felt like nearly everything was heavily salted. The pasta dishes and steaks all seemed to have an excessive amount of salt, which overpowered some of the flavors. The cacio e pepe was also a surprisingly small portion for the price. The lamb chops were probably my least favorite dish of the evening. The sauce itself was tasty, but the lamb lacked flavor and just didn't stand out the way I expected it to. For dessert, we ordered the Devil's Food Cake. It was enjoyable, but I'd recommend asking about the dessert ingredients beforehand, as some options contain alcohol. The staff was accommodating and able to make modifications when possible. A couple things were disappointing for a birthday celebration. We adjusted our reservation a few hours beforehand and arrived around 9:30 PM, but weren't seated until nearly 9:55 PM. I understand they were busy, but it was still a bit frustrating. I was also surprised there wasn't any acknowledgment of the birthday no candle or small celebratory touch. Overall, the service and ambiance were the highlights of the experience. While there were some dishes I enjoyed, the food felt overpriced for what we received, especially considering the portion sizes and heavy seasoning. I'd consider returning for the atmosphere and appetizers, but I don't think it lived up to the expectations of a special occasion dinner.

This is my new favorite Italian restaurant! The texture of the pastas were all amazing. We started off with a few mocktails. I liked both La Pernaccia and Garibaldi-ish, but La Pernaccia was on the sour side so I liked Garibaldi-ish better. The meatballs was brisket texture, it was good. We had the patate fritte as well and I loved this side dish. I can probably finish it on my own... We got 3 pastas. First we had the papardelle al cinghiale and it had wild boar. It was good. Second we had the strozzapreti alla vaccinara and that was with oxtail. This was my favorite pasta!!!! The pasta was a little chewy (which I enjoyed) and it is not too salty or anything. I will definitely get this again. Lastly we had rigatoni con guanciale e pomodorini and it was good too. It was a little more salty tho. Would be amazing if it isn't as salty. The tomatoes were very juicy. Then we had dessert which I did not include in photos. We had the tre dita gatto which was like a choco cake and it's got some dark cherries on the side. It adds a nice touch. The chocolate itself would've been too sweet, but with cherries it was amazing. I'm not a big sweets person normally but I really enjoyed this cake. It was suppppper smooth. The atmosphere was nice and the view was beautiful. Our server was very attentive as well. This is my new favorite spot and I can't wait to try other dishes!

Revisited for Mother's Day weekend this year and it did not disappoint! If youre having trouble finding a reservation, I recently learned you can snag an easy one in the main room if you have a Mastercard. Just type in Google "Tre Dita Mastercard" and it should pop up - super easy! Ordered the GAMBERI IN SALSA VERDE since I saw a bunch of people love that and it was also recommended by the waiter. Really good - idk how they made that green sauce, but I was drinking it by the spoon haha. Wish I would've ordered the bread to soak it all up. We also ordered the PICI CACIO E PEPE, STROZZAPRETI ALLA VACCINARA and GNUDI DI SPINACI pastas. All were amazing! You can tell the pasta is handmade and it is thick and has such a lovely chew to it. Seriously tastes like elevated homemade pasta. The oxtail rage one had to be my favorite, but the cacio e pepe was a very close second. Last but definitely not least, for dessert we ordered the TRE DITA GATTÒ & highly recommended by the waiter DOLCE AL PISTACCHIO. Honestly, I had seen so much rave on the chocolate cake online I was so excited for that one, BUT that Pistachio CAAAAAKKKE. O.M.G. That one blew me away. With all the Dubai chocolate pistachio cream hype, I was expecting a sugar bomb, but this was nothing like that. This cake was sooooo good and very subtly sweet. It had such a rich nutty flavor to it - easily my favorite dish of the night! The service was amazing, we were seated by the window with a beautiful view of the city. We arrived before sunset and left at dark - it was so beautiful to see the vibes change in real time. Once again, if you're looking to go out for a special occasion, this is the spot!

Tre Dita is a beautiful restaurant with delicious food! The interior is very elegant and makes the meal all the more enjoyable. The staff are all amazing and great! To start, we ordered the Flori de Fiori di Zucca ($26), Schiacciata Bianca ($11), Polpette di Brasato ($26), and Burrata e Crudo ($34). I forgot that the Flori had ricotta inside so that was a surprise when I bit into it. Our waiter cuts the burrata and pours the oil on top. The burrata was delicious and great to share. The focaccia was very light and delicious as well. No need for butter on the bread. The Polpette was good but nothing amazing. I would say that I would skip the Polpette and Flori next time. For the pastas, we ordered the Linguine al Limone ($29), Trofie al Pesto ($42), and the Strozzapreti alla Vaccinara ($34). All the pastas were delicious! We loved them all. I would say that they are on the smaller side and I was still hungry after eating our apps and pastas. Fortunately we also had a couple steaks coming which filled me up. For the steaks we ordered the King River Ribeye (wagyu) ($220) and the Costata Alla Fiorentina ($240). The Australian Wagyu was my favorite. It melts in your mouth and was amazing. It made the other ribeye just taste not as good. The other ribeye was delicious, but didn't compare to the wagyu. Even though we were full, we still ordered a couple of dessert. We ordered the Dolce al Pistacchio ($21) and the Tiramisu Classico ($19). Both were delicious and very beautiful. The Tiramisu caught all of our eyes as the top showed the firehorse as it is the year of the firehorse. It was fun as the top you get to crack open for the tiramisu. We enjoyed our dinner very much and everything was delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant as it is great for a lovely dinner with great food.

Visited Tre Dita for Valentine's Day and everything was beautiful...from the view and decor to the overall ambience. The food was delicious; I had the pappardelle al cinghiale and really enjoyed it, and the wine was great as well. Our service was really good and made the experience even better. My boyfriend was obsessed with the bread (he ordered 3 loaves lol). My only wish is that adding protein to the pasta dishes was an option. Overall, a great experience and I'd definitely go back!

A few days ago, I went with my family for dinner at Tre Dita to celebrate a birthday. The ambiance was just as nice as you'd expect, with a great view that unfortunately isn't as great for photo lighting. The waiting area as you enter is gorgeous, with beautiful gold lighting and elegant marble floors. There was even a velvet rope separating the dining area from the waiting area! To start, we ordered a schiacciata bianca, which was super soft, airy, and just the right amount of salty. My family was very tempted to order another! It was filling without being too heavy, and it made the wait time seem short. For reference, we waited around 5-10 minutes for the bread and another 10 minutes for the rest of the food. I ordered the rigatoncini all' arrabbiata. Overall it was alright, and the pasta itself was good. However, there was a large portion of what looked like pure oil sitting at the bottom of the dish, and the dish came with too much cheese that made it hard to appreciate the pasta. I'd recommend asking for lighter sauce and cheese on the side. Also, the pasta wasn't as spicy as I hoped (or expected, from the literal pepper on the top), so you might want to ask for pepper flakes on the side as well. My sister ordered the linguine al limone, and I stole a few bites (but forgot to take a picture...). This dish was incredible! The pasta was chewy and delicious, and the sauce had a lemon flavor that made every bite taste fresh and light. This lighter sauce definitely brought out the handmade pasta's quality better than my dish. Lastly, we ordered a New York strip for the table. The spices in the meat's crust were excellent, but the dish cooled very quickly because it was sliced, and it got hard to eat the last few bites. The service throughout the night was lovely, and our waitress gave my mom a free small dessert with a cute candle! We ended the evening satisfied. I took off one star for the subpar pasta I ordered, but otherwise, this restaurant was the perfect way to celebrate my mom's birthday.

The perfect location for a celebration or special occasion! Amazing interior, skyline views, outstanding food and service! Elevated Italian that still feels comfortable. Pro Tip: reservations are hard to come by but grab a seat at the bar for food and drinks!

(Kari's Rating 9.25/10) Came with a friend without a reservation on a Tuesday evening at 4 PM for an early dinner. Even though we didn't have a reservation, we were seated right away in a small corner spot. We got a small spot in the corner and it was so beautiful with the sun setting. We were seated in our server Mark greeted us right away. He was having critically knowledgeable about the drink menu, and I ordered the L'Inizio. They gave us a little shot of vermouth as a palate cleanser. Mark told us that the food would just come out as it was ready. We ordered the deep-fried gnocchi, the Burrata salad, the tomato focaccia and for our mains we ordered a New York strip and the parpardalle a ragu. You can definitely tell the pasta was homemade, and the sauce was very light. The New York strip was delicious and cooked perfectly as I always get it medium rare-more on rare side. It was a lot of food as always and I had plenty of leftovers to take home. I was between the double chocolate cake and the pistachio, but I decided to go a limb and get the pistachio cake to go. I was pleasantly surprised how delicious the pistachio dessert was and I definitely continue thinking about it. Would come back for the vibes and the server as Mark was incredibly personable!

The food was good, but the attention to detail was very disappointing. We came here to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday, and I handed birthday candles to the host to give to our server. Unfortunately, the server completely forgot about them. It wasn't a busy night--it was a weekday--so that made it even more disappointing. For the prices they charge, I expected much better service and attention. I can see why most of their awards are for their architecture and not quality.

Me and my boyfriend came here for our 2 year anniversary this past weekend. I had heard of the restaurant on social media and we decided to try it out. We got there late for our reservation, but they were still able to seat us. It may have been because we went in the afternoon around 5pm since reservations are pretty hard to get here. We had to try both steak and pasta, which were probably the best we've had! It was so delicious, but my favorite was their asparagus side! I believe they have seasonal or temporary asparagus dishes at the moment, so I would definitely give it a try! The interior is beautiful and upscale, so definitely come here for special occasions or celebrations. I'm hoping to get lucky and have a later reservation in the future so I can enjoy it one more time!

Upscale, elegance and very diligent service match perfectly with the handcrafted menu that knocks it out of the park. The restaurant has exceptional views over the Chicago river, and even better hospitality. It's a bit pricey, but you can tell that they make every dollar worth it. I'm excited to return soon. My recommendation is to get as many different pastas as possible.

YUM!! The bread is the best bread I've ever had I think. I could eat the whole loaf myself. Gnocchi was lovely for the app. Pasta wise, I enjoyed the arrabbiata a lot more than the linguini because I felt flavor fatigue faster with the linguini. That being said, they were both so delicious in their own right. Tiramisu was fantastic! Our server, Josiah, was super accommodating and helped recommend the dishes as well! The restaurant was packed as expected for a Sunday night so it was still a little wait even though we had a reservation. The views of the city from the big windows are spectacular. I'd love to visit again sometime!

$400+ dinner for two, including drinks. Nothing special,…read morelike we hoped. Pretty much standard steakhouse fare ... maybe a little less tasty than some of the other top-ranked steakhouses I've been to. I'd put it on par with Smith & Wollensky or Capital Grille, which is to say better than average and overpriced. To start off, the wicked stepsister hosts, who look about 20 years old, at the front seem to take joy in making you wait, even if you have a reservation and laugh in your face when you ask to sit in a certain area. There is nothing cool about dealing with a 20 year old on a power trip when paying almost half a grand for dinner for two. The real hero of this establishment should be their lighting designer ... I would venture to say that the dimly-lit yet perfect feeling vibe of the restaurant is what sets it apart. If not for the design of the restaurant, it would be just another steakhouse. The waiters are as pretentious as the hostesses. You know you you walk into a Restoration Hardware store and someone making minimum wage gives you, 'mansion attitude'? That's everyone we encountered at Bacette's ... insufferable snobs. We started out with cocktails, which were well made. Nowhere were the prices but expect a cocktail to set you back $25. The steaks are around $80 - $120. We both had the bone-in filet mignon, which was $89 at the time of the review. I guess it's supposedly a rare cut of meat ... although when I asked our butcher about it being rare, he chuckled and said, 'whatever sells steaks, I guess'. The filet was good ... again, nothing amazing ... on par with a chain like Capital Grille. I ordered mine medium rare and it came medium and a bit under seasoned. Each steak comes with a side of Bearnaise sauce, which honestly was the best part of the meal. Rarely would I consider ruining a $89 steak by dipping it in sauce ... but it kind of needed the extra kick. We got asparagus and the truffle Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was better than the steak, however, we were expecting the normal overflowing sides, which are usually too much for two people to finish. The Mac and cheese was pretty small and we felt like it was more like a single side ... especially given that the filet (minus the bone) was probably around 8 ounces. Asparagus was just your average asparagus. We had the chocolate pie and ice cream for dessert. The chocolate cake was almost like an entire slice of cake frosting with a scoop of dense whipped cream on top. Way too sweet and we barely ate half amongst the both of us. The ice cream was nothing special. We didn't realize you could not have a reservation and sit at the bar. Honestly, we were placed downstairs at a table ... and felt like we were sitting in a basement. It was not as nice as the upper restaurant and they refused to move us when we asked them if we could sit upstairs in the better part. She gleefully said it would be a two hour wait to change tables. If we knew we could have just snagged an empty bar seat upstairs, we'd have done that because it's better than the basement. Although, we saw some near arguments as people rushed in to get a bar stool in front of people who were waiting a long time. And, it's a little awkward to eat with vultures standing behind you waiting to jump into your seat, I'd imagine. So maybe make sure that you request to be seated upstairs and see if the mean girls hostess will accommodate the request. Overall, Chicago has so many good steakhouses, the fact that this one ranked so highly mystifies me. I've been to several better than this which were not even ranked. The atmosphere is cool ... everything else is average ... except for the attitudes which are below average.

Very vibrant and really friendly people all around. Piano bar vibes with the live playing at your request. Bartenders are attentive and try to get to everyone quickly. Just to give you a sense of how friendly this place is, I accidentally knocked over my glass of wine while reaching for the bill. Caught it though...phew. But not before I spilled it all over the back of the woman sitting next to me, the man to the right of me, and of course all over myself! Within two seconds, a waitress came over with napkins to help clean up the mess, the guy sitting next to me got on the floor and wiped it all up, and the woman whom I spilled the drink all over was like "Don't even worry about! At least you caught the wine glass!" Wow! I was stunned at how cool everyone was, and it set the tone for the evening. We finally got our table and split the Gipson's ribeye, lobster, sweet potato and brussel sprouts. Seriously one of the best steakhouse meals I've ever had. The negative: for a restaurant where you going to spend over $100 a person, we had to ask twice for water refills, in fact one time we asked the manager and he had to track down our servers. The seating is just ok, it's pretty loud as your on top of each other really. The steak was above average but not great. They seems to char the outside see pictures and it was fairly bland, got the filet. Salad was drowned with dressing and had virtually nothing other than 2 average cheap grape tomatoes. The sides were just ok. I wanted to be blown away as Chicago is "known" for their steaks, the waiter even said they had their own rating. Meh... After eating twice in Vegas this month and getting wagyu I guess I'm spoiled. Go once to get the experience.

The only drawback is the prices. We're not rich, but we love a great experience. We understand that an experience like that comes with a price, so we'll be back as much as we can.

First off, what you're getting for your money just doesn't gel…read more I dont mind paying an exuberant amount for food if the food matches the price but sadly it doesn't here.... The good: Salad was amazing with bits of nicely cooked pork belly mixed in and the salad dressing is to die for Focaccia bread was very good but nothing special but the bone tarrow butter was fantastic and carried this bread. Brussel sprouts were flavorful but greasy and overcooked... Beef cheek ragu noodle dish was heavy yet tasty.. Rib eye steak done medium rare was fatty and very very chewy so this was a complete fail, but seasoned very well...extra 10 bucks for some dipping sauce for the steak but worth getting to elevate the steak...Definitely don't do any steak under medium here... Lemon sorbet was the true winner of the night...Delicious without being too tart..... Overall like I said, not worth the $250 price tag before tip...._

I was visiting from out of town and was not familiar with the parking around the area. I asked one of the staff members and immediately they reassured me that the side street would raking was totally fine to park just so long as it wasn't the front of the building where you have to pay. The food started with a complementary potato soup which was flavorful and lovely. We got a round of drinks and one of our party didn't care for her drink and it was replaced no question. We had the flat iron steak, the chicken, and the salmon and each entree was wonderful. The proteins were all very tender and juicy. I was also very pleased with the salad that came first which was lightly dressed and very seasonal. We finished our dining experience with a slice of cheesecake. It was a nice cap to the end of a wonderful meal. I would recommend this restaurant for any occasion - I would love to come back and try some of the other items on their menu.

**Hidden gem!!!**…read more Penumbra is SUPER sexy and low-key elite. This is one of those spots that will make you look like a total restaurant pro if you take someone there or recommend it. The ambiance is intimate, romantic, and just feels exclusive without trying too hard. I took my girl there for her birthday and she absolutely loved it -- which is always the real test. We had the ribeye and the Rotini Bianco, and both were excellent. The ribeye was cooked perfectly, tender and flavorful. The Rotini Bianco was rich, creamy, and done just right. Every dish felt intentional and well executed. Don't hesitate to book. If you're trying to impress or celebrate something special, this is the move.

Perilla is a tastefully decorated restaurant, both loungey and rich, but still makes you feel like the joint is all for you. You know, 5 star service is such a lost art, it makes you forget how much you miss it when all of a sudden it happens to be right in front of you. Ricardo, our bartender, what a gem. Forget about the perfectly made drinks that were served to us. Ricardo made us feel right at home with his kind disposition and friendly demeanor. But it doesn't just stop at Ricardo. Everyone was absolutely fantastic. We could have been served 7-11 sushi at this point and I still would have left 5 stars. Food time. The kimchi pork dumplings were an absolute flavor bomb and that parmesan broth gave the dumplings a little extra kick that took it to the next level. Plus, I love when the dumpling wrapper has a little chew to it and isn't this soft mush that dissolves in your mouth. The beef fat frites were a nice treat as well. They were not extra or over the top in anyway. But you can tell when something is done well and correctly, just like these fries were. The Premium Steakhouse Set, in my opinion, is all two people need to enjoy this very special experience. All the accompanying condiments were exceptional on their own and could have functioned as their own course. The Japchae glass noodles were a stunner. The real sleeper was the chopped lettuce greens tossed in their chili vinaigrette. Could have eaten 20 bowls of those lettuce greens. Sadly, I forgot the name of our server who cooked and cut our meat for us. She really added to the experience. She expertly prepared our food while maintaining a fun and pleasant conversation with us. The meat itself, my goodness, tender, smoky, quality-forward, and perfect served with the condiments. What a spectacular meal and overall experience.

We went during happy hour, selection of food and drink items were good and the price is right too! We ordered a bunch stuff to try: * Raw oysters - good, nothing to rave about * Argentinian shrimp - the shrimp were small and looked kinda depressing, flavor was decent though * Bossam - this was probably the lowlight for me, traditional bossam is pork belly, it is just not the same without the fat, pork collar does not cut it! * Short rib skewer- flavorful, cooked just right, delicious * Garlic chive pancake - this was my favorite, full of scallions, nice crunch on the sides and soft in the middle * Chilled soda noodle and kimchi - not traditional cold noodles, but it was tasty * Crudo - it was a TINY piece, certainly not worth the price even though it tasted fine, this was not a happy menu item * Basque cheesecake - wanted the Perilla sundae but was sold out, so settled for the cheesecake, it was just fine Staff were all very friendly and helpful. It was a nice experience overall. For happy hour, I would come back!
