I've been to another Jose Andres restaurant so I knew I was in for something special and this did not disappoint. We had a 7pm show to catch so we did a 5:15 reservation with the theater tasting menu and timing could not be better. The food was so unique and well presented. The olives were a little weird but I appreciate the creativity and will try anything once! The chicken croquettes were the star and we could have eaten 10 more! The steak was cooked to perfection and the sauce plus the coffee "air" make for a perfect flavor combination without overpowering the steak itself. We also added the chocolate souffle and it was everything I could hope for.

We each got the Bazaar Meat Experience and it did not disappoint! Started with caviar cones- little cones with black caviar and a creamy filling, spot on! Next came the olives and olive sphere on a spoon. Very green olive forward. Then the caprese salad, charred cherry tomatoes, liquid mozzarella and pesto- so tasty, especially if you like pesto (which we do). OK, halfway there. Classic tartare, which Donna was very leery about, but it was an excellent mix of sirloin, mustard sauce, egg yolk, a touch of anchovy and shiso tempura. How about some Spanish octopus? Turned out to be a highlight, boiled and grilled with small potatoes on a great mojo icon sauce. Now for the steak- black angus ribeye served with buttered potato puree. My only quibble was here- a bit too salty for me, but just right for Donna. I forgot the piquillo peppers at the start. A nicely done little pickled peppers. And lastly, dessert. Honey cake with yogurt, grapes and chestnut ice cream. We were both full but had to eat this! Great finish with the server torching Happy Anniversary on our plate. The service was impeccable, courses came quickly, but not too. Had a nice chat with the sommelier. All in all, a memorable meal and experience.

This place 1000% made up for a terrible dining experience. TL/DR everything was amazing and staff went above and beyond for the group I was with. We got a 7 course pre fix with wine pairing. Small and shareable plates. Waygu was too good to pass up. Highly recommend and they accommodated for my allergy.

My husband and I treated ourselves for our anniversary and we were not disappointed. They started us with an amuse-bouche and glass of cava while we made food decisions. We went wth the meat experience and I can't say anything disappointed but my favorites were the not your everyday caprese salad and the Spanish Octopus. The steak was very good and they had a wonderful dessert surprise for us. It is a very large room so it became loud at times but did not detract from dinner. I would highly recommend.

Big fans of bar mar so finally got around to trying its meat forward sister restaurant during RW. Ambiance was fun, good energy in the crowd. Service was a little clunky but it's RW so gave them grace. - coffee rub hangar steak - both came out medium rare even though hubby ordered it blue but was still very tender, good flavor and love the cobble rub crust. The foam was fun but didn't last long - potato puree - definitely half butter at least but so good - piquillo peppers - good counter flavor to richness of steak and potatoes - caprese salad - great pop of flavor - ham and cheese - nice flavor and good crisp to it - chicken croquettes - not as good as we remember as this is also in menu downstairs at bar mar - salmon and lox cones were ok, very dairy fwd Old fashioned were nice and strong. Christos the manager was super friendly, showed us around when he showed us to our table and stopped by to check on our table. Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

I am a huge fan of Jose Andres and his vision. We were looking forward to our reservations. Service was good. Our waiter was great. So was the personal touch by the manager to inquire regarding our experience. The decor is beautiful and lovely for a romantic dinner date or group for any celebrations. We chose the prix fix menu. And added W9 and W11 Japanese Waygu. All the appetizers and small plates were excellent - caviar, olives, pesto caprese salad, steak tartare, and octopus. So that just built our expectation for the meats. The mains frankly were a bit disappointing. Good but not great. The wagyu were good cuts but the temperature just wasn't right - medium rare. It came out a bit cold. They did try to correct the issue but still wasn't to our taste. Not expecting it to be Japan perfect but disappointing nevertheless. For the main meat, great flavoring and temperature but we didn't like the cut too much. The dessert was good. A bit more texture/crunch would be great addition.

The Bazaar by José Andrés in Chicago is absolutely superb! Tucked away on the second floor of 120 N. Wacker Drive, this restaurant sits inside a sleek 52-story office tower right in the heart of the Loop, overlooking the beautiful riverfront. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by dramatic crimson chandeliers that look like volcanic flames--bold, fiery, and totally unforgettable. We were seated in a cozy booth piled with comfortable pillows that made the whole space feel both luxurious and welcoming. Then came the menu... and let me tell you, this thing was thick--like opening a novel dedicated entirely to the art of meat. Every page celebrated beef in inventive, mouthwatering ways, from classic ribeye to buttery, melt-in-your-mouth wagyu. Before we even ordered, they welcomed us with a glass of cava, a Spanish sparkling wine that perfectly prepped the palate. We started with their thick-cut patatas bravas--crispy, flavorful, and honestly good enough to be a meal on their own. For our entrée, we didn't waste any time. We went straight for the Bone-In Strip Loin, Washugyu/Angus, 18 oz. Absolutely phenomenal--juicy, rich, and full of robust flavor. We shared a trio of sides: roasted carrots so tender they almost melted like potatoes, vibrant green asparagus, and their buttery potato purée that felt like velvet on the tongue. And of course... dessert. I ordered the chocolate soufflé and wow--pure decadence. Warm, airy, rich, and irresistibly inviting. A perfect, succulent finish to an already incredible experience. If you're looking for a place that treats meat like an art form while giving you a dramatic, fun, and unforgettable dining atmosphere, The Bazaar is the spot. Can't wait to come back!

Bazaar Meat and Bar Mar are co-located in the same building. However, Bazaar Meat is closed on Sundays. Reservations are made through OpenTable, with tasting menu and prix fix options being highlighted over the standard a la carte option. First, how do you get in? There are at least two ways: 1. Enter through the entrance of Bar Mar, and hang a left so that you curl around to the lobby area of the building in front of the elevators. Take the elevator up to Bazaar Meat. 2. Enter through Bar Mar. Go to the blue staircase, which is slightly past the seafood bar, on the left. Walk up the flights of stairs to the Bazaar Meat level (2nd floor). The reverse method also makes a great exit strategy. Someone will greet you and then lead you to your table. As you walk in, you'll pass by their meat aging racks. Their dining room after sunset is mostly a dark, dim brown with indirect lighting. We were seated by a window. The restaurant appeared to be packed, but soon we were greeted by a staff member offering some type of complimentary wine already poured in two glasses. Since none at our table were planning to consume alcohol, we declined, so they offered and brought us a non-alcoholic beverage instead. Downstairs at Bar Mar, portions are generous. Does the same hold for Bazaar Meat? We ordered under the assumption of yes. However, that is an incorrect assumption to make as detailed below. Part of the menu between Bar Mar and Bazaar Meat overlap. We opted to order items not in common. First, two complimentary bites were presented. One was the stuffed olive. The other was a savory baked bite. Next came the set of olives, a total of 5. The first two bites were novel enough before the effect wore off. Jose's Taco came next, and while the flavor was fine, the quantity was disappointing: a slice of their jamón ibérico de bellota atop a roasted piece of seaweed, topped with some caviar. We opted for Pluma Ibérica de Bellota Pork, which was by far the highlight of the dinner. It was topped with chimichurri and a dollop of mojo verde on the side. The pork itself needed no accompaniment. The Coffee-Rubbed Hangar Steak was decidedly less impressive. It came with passionfruit sauce, not even a whole pearl onion, and three clumps of what must have been their "coffee air" foam. Unfortunately, the preparation resulting in a boring flavor for a hanger steak. The restaurant also offers Wagyu and roasted Suckling Pig. I suspect next time I would target the Suckling Pig. We finished off with a baby gem lettuce salad (Ensalada de "Cogollos") which contained 14 gem lettuce leaves and 14 halves of grape tomatoes along with piparra peppers, and green onion shavings. Finally for dessert we opted for the Tarta de Queso. It certainly tasted like cheesecake, though the texture difference between the interior and exterior was not as different as described. It was mostly solid with a tiny center portion that was "soft". After finishing the meal, you'll be given a parting gift at the front: some cheese and caramel corn. This was a nice gesture, and we decided to have it as a snack while walking through Lincoln Park the next day. Service-wise, the staff were all organized, warm, friendly, and attentive. Unfortunately, the quality of service doesn't make up for the preparation of food. Certainly the pork was a standout for me, but everything else had a low flavor to cost ratio. This was a slight disappointment to me when compared to Bar Mar downstairs. I suspect the next time I visit a Bazaar location, the way to go will be much more pork heavy.

What amazing ambiance! The river views are stunning! Service was prompt. Our waiter was condescending and perfunctory, likely because we were an older couple, we did not get the attention the younger couples around us were getting. We hardly saw the waiter. The food was outstanding! We loved the appetizers! The onion soup was the perfect starter. You must try the Philly cheesesteak appetizer( sounds crazy) but it was delicious! Our steaks were cooked exactly as we requested. I found mine salty, but it was dry aged beef so I should have expected it. I loved the intermezzo. The chocolate soufflé and the cheesecake ended the night on an up note! I will definitely be back.

My husband and I decided to treat ourselves to a date night at a steakhouse and happened upon Bazaar Meat and I'm so glad we did. From the start we had excellent service and you could tell that our waiter really enjoyed all the food and loved his job. The energy shined through in his service and made the experience top-notch. We started with the Philly cheesesteak, the croquettes, and the patatas bravas. All of them were excellent, but definitely think the Philly cheesesteak was the best out of the three. Then we decided to split a 14 ounce filet which was delicious, with the peppers and mushrooms. Finally, we topped it off with their chocolate soufflé which comes with banana ice cream. It was really good and the banana ice cream was very fresh and tasty. We'll definitely be putting this on my list to come back to when we come back to Chicago.

So I go to a Chicago steakhouse and order... Poké bowl? What the hell is wrong with me? OK, that list is pretty damn long... Nonetheless... Back to Chicago for work, check dinner places near the downtown JW Marriott, and Jose Andre's restaurant shows up. Why not? I walk over (dear God, I used to live in Wisconsin, but I moved to the West Coast decades ago. It is so dark and cold and blustery in Chicago!! Shiver.). Anyway, very nice place, sat at the bar for a drink or two, ordered the Poké bowl. It was really good! They probably sell one Poké bowl for every 417 steaks, but I can live with that...that's kind of the fish-to-steak ratio I live with as well. Back to steak tomorrow.

Came here for Restaurant Week--this is my second visit. I love the experience and the food. The presentation and flavors are always top-notch. You'll never be disappointed. Highly recommend this place to friends and family.

A friend, a self-proclaimed "foodie," invited a group of us to join him at Bazaar Meat to experience as much food and drink as possible. We all found it a very enjoyable experience. I appreciated the focus they place on both their food and their service. We started with wine and cocktails. I found their cocktails to be very well crafted and complex in flavor, even more so on subsequent sips. Because of the "Spanish flair" (my term) here, plates will be brought out as ready. This is interesting compared to more traditional steak houses, where they diligently try to bring all your entrees out at the same time. Since they pride themselves on the quality of their service and food, I'm going to dig a little deeper in things I felt deviated from that - but to me they were more like dings, and things that made me chuckle. I did work several years at a steakhouse which had a focus on service, and I spotted a couple of faux pas one server committed as we proceeded from appetizers to entrees. What amused me was that a minute later, another server, who was checking our table, made a big deal of correcting this. Also, even though meats are sliced into medallions and served family style, several of our entrees were initially delivered to the wrong people (but still easily shared). The cuts of meat were all prepared to order. I found the cuts requested medium were more flavorful than those requested medium rare. My side of Brussels Sprouts had a very interesting presentation - topped with a lime foam - which contributed more to appearance than flavor. Most sprouts rely on some carmelization for flavor - these had the flavor without relying on that. Dessert was equally impressive, my Basque cheesecake had high levels of both taste and presentation flair. I am glad to have had the dining experience here. While I would come back if invited by friends, there was nothing about the experience that screamed to me that I MUST come back.

Can I use a gibsons gift card?

Yes, it can be used at Bazaar Meat Chicago as listed on Gibsons website

    Good for kids?

Not really child friendly. Teenagers should be fine.

Trying to decide if it's worth it to Uber to the restaurant from the hotel or just drive and valet, so how much is valet?

That all depends on the location of your hotel. It's always better to Uber tho especially if you'll be drinking

Does anyone know if they offer free valet?

    No. Paid valet only.

What is the connection to Gibsons? I see their name in multiple spots on the menu.

Chicago's Bazaar Meats is a joint venture Between Jose' Andres and Chicago's Lombardo Family (Gibsons). Not sure of the details.

Long Review: Met a friend for dinner while in Chicago and he said Gibson's was a must. We went on a Thursday night and the place was absolutely packed. Just to give you a sense of how friendly this place is, I accidentally knocked over my glass of wine while reaching for the bill. Caught it though...phew. But not before I spilled it all over the back of the woman sitting next to me, the man to the right of me, and of course all over myself! Within two seconds, a waitress came over with napkins to help clean up the mess, the guy sitting next to me got on the floor and wiped it all up, and the woman whom I spilled the drink all over was like "Don't even worry about! At least you caught the wine glass!" Wow! I was stunned at how cool everyone was, and it set the tone for the evening. The ambiance is intimate, romantic, and just feels exclusive without trying too hard. I took my girl there for her birthday and she absolutely loved it -- which is always the real test. We had the ribeye and the Rotini Bianco, and both were excellent. The ribeye was cooked perfectly, tender and flavorful. The Rotini Bianco was rich, creamy, and done just right. Every dish felt intentional and well executed. Don't hesitate to book. If you're trying to impress or celebrate something special, this is the move.

Perilla is a tastefully decorated restaurant, both loungey and rich, but still makes you feel like the joint is all for you. You know, 5 star service is such a lost art, it makes you forget how much you miss it when all of a sudden it happens to be right in front of you. Ricardo, our bartender, what a gem. Forget about the perfectly made drinks that were served to us. Ricardo made us feel right at home with his kind disposition and friendly demeanor. But it doesn't just stop at Ricardo. Everyone was absolutely fantastic. We could have been served 7-11 sushi at this point and I still would have left 5 stars. Food time. The kimchi pork dumplings were an absolute flavor bomb and that parmesan broth gave the dumplings a little extra kick that took it to the next level. Plus, I love when the dumpling wrapper has a little chew to it and isn't this soft mush that dissolves in your mouth. The beef fat frites were a nice treat as well. They were not extra or over the top in anyway. But you can tell when something is done well and correctly, just like these fries were. The Premium Steakhouse Set, in my opinion, is all two people need to enjoy this very special experience. All the accompanying condiments were exceptional on their own and could have functioned as their own course. The Japchae glass noodles were a stunner. The real sleeper was the chopped lettuce greens tossed in their chili vinaigrette. Could have eaten 20 bowls of those lettuce greens. Sadly, I forgot the name of our server who cooked and cut our meat for us. She really added to the experience. She expertly prepared our food while maintaining a fun and pleasant conversation with us. The meat itself, my goodness, tender, smoky, quality-forward, and perfect served with the condiments. What a spectacular meal and overall experience.

I was staying at the hotel and encouraged to check out the restaurant so came downstairs to reach out to the host about a reservation. They told me they were fully committed the whole night, I said okay is there a waitlist, she looked at me unsure. I explained further if there is a cancellation would love to be notified and she wrote my name down. I went back to the lobby, looked on OpenTable and I saw multiple reservations. I went back to the hostess showing the 8:15 resy I got and she said it wasn't accurate and if someone booked it and came they would refuse them (what???!! There's a cancellation fee as well). I asked about the 8:45 and her coworker said that IS available. I was confused, because a minute ago she said they were fully commited. Which I said back, she said there is actually an 8:45 (okay so you lied). I asked if we could put our name down for that and did. After that extremely strange interaction, which I was not used to after eating at many higher end restaurants we sat down at 8:45. We ended up getting a mix of small plates. The waiter was clearly trying to sell us their expensive courses for his tip though he was very sweet... which he may not have realized we had an expense budget for work and we were trying not pass that. He emphasized the small plates were small and not enough food which we fell for and got more and had way too much food and passed our expense budget due to it. The food is great, it's the service that has work to do especially for such a high price tag. Get the chicken for sure. Dumplings you can pass on. The broccolini (not pictured) is great as well. Amazing sauce. As the food is good I would not come here again due to the service as their are other restaurants that are more buttoned up than this.

The wood shelving, classic decor, and lively atmosphere made it feel timeless. The service was easily one of the best parts of the experience. Since it was our first visit, David walked us through the restaurant's history, constantly refilled waters, and somehow managed to clear plates within seconds of us finishing. They also made us an anniversary card, gave us complimentary sparkling water, and surprised us with a slice of key lime pie. The hospitality was incredible and made us feel genuinely celebrated. The stone crab was super fresh and the mustard sauce was the perfect pairing. The crab bisque was rich and creamy. The filet was cooked perfectly with a great sear, while the stuffed lobster tail was warm, flavorful, and topped with a parmesan crust. The lobster roll was solid with a perfectly toasted brioche bun. The sweet corn was sweet, buttery, and smoky. For dessert, the blueberry pie was so comforting. The filling had a chewy texture, wasn't overly sweet, and the crust was perfectly crisp. The key lime pie was a nice surprise from the restaurant and had a great graham cracker crust. Overall, every dish was delicious and executed well but nothing really wowed me flavor wise. If you love classic steakhouse food and seafood, this is the spot. The service alone makes it a fantastic spot for celebrations. Thank you David & Joe's Seafood for the incredible night.

People like him have almost a "super‑recognizer" ability: they store faces, mannerisms, and micro‑details the way others remember song lyrics. It's rare, and when you encounter it, it feels almost uncanny in the best way. And the fact that he consistently recognizes you over the years tells you it's not luck. It's intentional, it's skill, and it's part of why the place feels special before you even sit down. Pair that with a meal that exceeded expectations -- that's the kind of night that reminds you why you've been a loyal patron for so long. Great food is memorable, but great hospitality is what makes a restaurant feel like a second home.

I had seen it previously advertised on TikTok and decided it looked like a nice, upscale dining experience and the perfect mimosa-filled brunch opportunity. Upon coming in at 11 when the location opened, I was already impressed by the beautiful cafe inspired French interior. The warm lighting and refined Parisian details were so beautiful and elegant, and I especially loved the look of the bar, which is a central statement of this restaurant. I chose the French toast breakfast and my boyfriend got the steak and eggs, and we both had mimosas as well! My French toast was light, fluffy, and delicious, definitely a solid choice. My boyfriend was super impressed by the steak and eggs and said it was the best breakfast he had our entire trip! The food itself was great and I would love to come back and try their dinner menu at some point. The service, however, is what truly stood out to me in our experience. Our servers were very helpful, knowledgeable about the menu, and speedy. We truly felt taken care of. Fernando was the sweetest and most welcoming, and he immediately made my boyfriend and I feel so welcomed and at home in Chicago. We greatly enjoyed our conversation with him and he even gifted me a coffee table book detailing the history and menu of La Grande Boucherie, which was so kind and such an amazing gesture. Fernando set our experience apart from any other dining experience in Chicago and he made this meal one of our favorites!

We ordered the $195.00 seafood tower, only to find that it barely included any seafood, 1/2 of a lobster, 4 shrimp and about a dozen oysters. I understand that Chicago is not a coastal city, but to not even include an entire lobster for a tower that cost $195.00?! Yikes! The drinks are also very expensive, and we found the steaks to be tough and dry. The Niçoise salad was awful, and not at all what we expected. It was drowning in dressing and the combination of anchovies and tuna did not work. It was also quite obvious that the tuna was not seared properly. I did think the roast chicken was good, and the fries were by far the best part of the meal. We went to several fine restaurants over the past few days to celebrate a milestone birthday, and La Grande Boucherie was the absolute worst in terms of value and quality of food. They were also the only establishment that didn't give the celebrant a small desert with a candle to mark the occasion. Just disappointing all around.

Ambiance and decor is top notch! This is SUCH a pretty spot! Very IG-worthy, with different details and moods on different walls. The bar was especially stunning. Service was impeccable. From the minute we walked in, the host and manager were friendly and personable. Our server was the right amount of conversational to make it feel personal but not overwhelmingly so. He was also very knowledgeable about the menu and had great recs. When I asked about "Sophia style" he had great descriptions and recommended it as his personal go-to. The bus staff was also incredibly attentive and wiped down the table between courses (a detail of fine dining that I think makes a huge difference!) Now the FOOD! Wow the truffle fries were some of the best fries I've ever had in my life. Weird item to lock in on, I know, but a good fry tells you everything else will be amazing too. It was crispy on the outside and the perfect pillowy texture on the inside. The steaks and bacon were incredible. It was cooked exactly as I like (I like mine medium well and run into a lot of places undercooking it. I know, it's unpopular but I am also paying for what I want. So I appreciate the perfection from Sophia on this one!) and I really enjoyed it Sophia Style. I love that all steaks already come with the house steak sauce and steak salt at bare minimum.
