Let me start by saying that i was beyond impressed with everyone in the store I called and spoke to a gentleman by the name of Jerry He let me know that the bike seat I needed was in fact in the store. Then when I got there another customer service representative helped me with the fitting and adjusting of the bike I believe his name was Uly unless I'm spelling it wrong Whatever he was very informative and helpful It was for my daughter who is petite in body structure So it took a few tries It was almost 6:00 I told him we could come back or even leave the bike with him. The store is PACKED with triathlon gear from fitness to nutrition. Cool items and a huge array of brands. Will and Marcus immediately greeted me. Saw a peek of their bike service/repair facility too. During a training ride, the back sprocket on my bike took a dump on me, the gears became jumbled, and my crank seized. Less than ideal, at least it did not result in any type of crash. Only one place to go with my Felt, back home to the Triathlon Lab for a tune-up. The mechanic, Carlos did a great job. I almost forgot what it was like to have the shifter feel the click of a gear shift, or to have taut brakes. My bike again has that that 'like new' feel. My experience was professional and thorough, all for under $40 - with my 10% off Yelp check-in discount. I make a decent drive to come to this location, that's my endorsement. read more

Tri Lab is awesome! Nice selection of athletic clothes, lots of beautiful bikes and solutions to get you through any triathlon. I went there during their Memorial Day sale when they offered a generous discount on all bikes and gear. They let me test ride a 2016 Felt IA 16 bicycle. The bike looked gorgeous and the ride felt super stable and stiff, I feel so tempted break my bank account. But the little voice in my head kept telling me, "No David! You don't need it!" They are the drop off place for Tri Bike Transport, a service that ships your bike to certain Ironman brand events in the United States. I primarily came here to talk with staff about using this service. Unfortunately Tri Bike Transport is prohibitively expensive. Total cost to transport my bike would have been $450 roundtrip. $350 base fee, plus $25 fee for my disc wheel and $75 for a padded wheel bag. read more

This is the best place around for bike stuff! Bikes for sale. The most gear of anyplace in SoCal I have been. Ridiculously great mechanics and general staff. They all know everything basically and give good advice. Got clothes here which is huge for us odd shaped people who have to try on or hold stuff up to judge. They even have shoes and cleats. I learned more from my recent self repair disaster when I brought it in, than all of my visits to other shops (save The Bike Shop Palms and The Bicycle Whisper) combined lifetime. I drive 10 miles to get there. Very close to the highway too. read more

I needed to get a triathlon wetsuit last minute, and came by because Tri Zone's store is almost bare - where TriLab has tons of items in their stores! Overall, I went here twice, because many of the wetsuits didn't' fit me well, and Ian helped me and he is very helpful and knowledgeable. He isn't someone who is trying to just 'sell' you the wetsuit. Even when his colleague came by and said 'I think this is the best fit!' Ian will say, 'no, no, I'm still not happy with it.' So he really does make sure that the fit will be perfect or get really close to it. He tells you about the armpit area, how it should fit, the zipper/back area, how it should look/feel/etc. I asked for the wetsuit brand/type so maybe I can look elsewhere, which Ian helped looking for the suits as well. **If you're trying on wetsuits - I wore my tri suit under and then tried on the wetsuits - go get the best fit. So try to take yours or whatever you will be wearing underneath your wetsuit during the race. And prepare to sweat.......They have fans + water, but you'll get hot! I think someone else mentioned too just be a bit cautious if you are a girl when you're trying on wetsuits, just take a friend with you, I tended to stay over their hours and I was alone... And I love this place and Ian is awesome, but 4 stars because I get some weird vibe from other workers... Back to Ian, he is so helpful that sometimes he's helping everyone to the best of his abilities! So just make sure that you have some time to spend at TriLab to get all the right info/fit/etc! They also have a 15 day policy that even if you try on your wetsuit and don't like it - you can bring it back. I definitely recommend this place for future triathlon gear and definitely look for Ian! read more

Took my bike in to adjust my brakes. A month later my brake stopped working. Brought it back and the guy told me that my bike is fine with just the front brake. No need to fix the rear brake and they were too busy to deal with their poor job. He told me that my bike was cheap and the brake can't be fixed and to deal with it. Really???? I took it to Hermosa Cyclery and they fixed it in 2 hrs. No problem. Super polite. Go elsewhere. These guys don't want your business. read more

I am a newbie with bikes and I came here from a Yelp review. When I walked in the place was amazing. It's clean and how the layout is, it doesn't feel cluttered. The staff is super knowledgeable about everything that has to do with a bike. When he was explaining things to me he didn't make me feel stupid when I asked him a million questions. He was patient with me and accommodating. I also brought the bike I had and they looked over my bike for me and made sure it was good for riding. My experience of Triathlon Lab is a testament to the power of blogs and Web 2.0. I just completed my first season of triathlon, racing 5 events including Boise 70.3 and Santa Barbara Long Course. I started blogging at the beginning of the year, discussing my immersion in the field including training, product comparison, and my own personal growth. The triathlon community in Southern California is large for such an iconoclastic sport, but it's still a tight-knit community of intelligent, opinionated people. Which is why it felt out of place that I had several bad experiences my first several times shopping at Triathlon Lab. I felt brushed off, ignored, and not taken seriously. Eventually I took it personally and blogged about my negative experiences. It came as quite a surprise that one of the owners personally reached out to me via Facebook (linked from my blog page), apologized for the way I was treated, and asked more details about my experience so she could address it as a customer service opportunity with her staff. I sent her a detailed report of my visits and spending experience, contrasted this to my positive experiences at Triathlete Zombies in Santa Monica, and thanked her for reaching out. That began a dialogue that has resulted in my purchase of a new 2008 Cervelo P3C triathlon bike. For those who don't know, when you buy a bike you're buying the shop as much as the bike itself. A good shop will do a proper fit, and then a follow-up fit to make sure the bike is right. Also, there is maintenance, tune-ups, and the never ending list of STUFF that gets added to the bike over time. The way the owner reached out, accepted responsibility, and then made up for the initial negative experience was enough to encourage me to forge this new relationship. The store is well stocked with a wide variety of gear, clothing, and staff. They have a considerably large bike shop and a solid spread of brands from entry-level and road all the way to pro level. I suggest talking to different staff members and finding someone you get along with and then coming back to them. Going in alone and browsing might not yield immediate gregariousness, but asking questions and getting to know the staff will make your experience better. read more

The Triathlon Lab is a hidden little gem in the South Bay. I am gearing up for a Triathlon in San Diego later this year and stopped in today to check out their new bicycles. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the Triathlon Lab offers a package deal which consists of a bicycle, wetsuit, helmet, backpack, running gear and several other bells and whistles for a mere $995.00. This store isn't cheap but if you are serious about testing yourself, testing your endurance and testing your internal kill switch (you know that little voice in your head that tells you to stop) then you must check out the Triathlon Lab. Not only does the Triathlon Lab provide everything from your basic models to your elite bicycles they also offer wetsuits, running gear, helmets, shoes, locking peddles and heck they even sell beach cruiser. You could drive by this place and never know it was there so be on the lookout. The Triathlon Lab offers 'free' parking just adjacent to their front doors (private lot). The staff here is top notch and willing to help and answer any question you may have regarding their equipment. I even posed a question to one of the employees on duty and they told me where I could find a cheaper product and you do not find that level of service just anywhere. I will be back in a couple of weeks and I will be purchasing the 'package' deal. read more

I came in on a Sunday afternoon hoping to find someone who I could talk to about triathlon gear. To no avail I was stuck to explore the store on my own with not one person coming to ask if I needed help.... I have an upcoming race for the LA tri and I wanted to get either a tri suit or some tri pants. I was barely was able to get some service and thats because I literally had to chase some guy down. When I asked about products that I were interested in I got very quick responses which honestly didn't help much. The worker with red hair who was wearing a hat when I came seemed like a very diligent worker. He was the most available so I was able to slip a question or two on him. The other workers don't seem like they do much. I literally saw two people in the back by the changing room the whole time I was at the store. They just helped a guy with a wet suit fitting question and that seemed like that's all they did. read more

Triathlons are a sport entirely different than the individual sports of swimming, biking or running. This is why it requires completely different gear. If you try to swim in bicycle shorts you will be biking and running with a diaper behind you. If you get a bicycle made for commuting or cruising, it's not going to be great for tris. If you Ride a bike in a speedo, you'll get honked at more than the guys who wear biker shorts. This store is worth coming across town to get your swag. They have stuff priced from entry level (excellent prices and deals here as compared to other bike stores), as well as very high quality professional gear. The service was great! I felt like I had a personal shopping assistant. So much better than I expected after reading about one of the other tri-stores in the area. Got weirded out by the reviews of creepy staff members, supported by TriLab's own delight for pictures of horny women on bikes (I personnally never get that turned on when I hop on my bike) So I brought **two** friends with me, hoping for the best, and started my journey toward Redondo Beach. Well Yelpers, it was worth the treck. It took Marcus a minute to figure out the wetsuit I needed, another one to find my size, and it fitted perfectly. He was funny and supportive while I was sharing my novice triathlete anxieties. The place is big, and you'll find pretty much all you need to really get in on... at race time. read more

Not worth going to if there is an alternative close. The mechanics are okay, at best. If it's busy, you get completely ignored until you basically call out their name. They do a pretty half assed job, and charge way more than they should. I got a full revamp for a race. This was 1 month ago, and had to take it to another bike shop 3 different times to fix the things that they totally messed up. I almost crashed because they didn't tighten my handle bars to the stem (who wouldn't do that?) All in all, i would say skip this shop if possible. 2 stars is generous for these guys. read more

"There's "great reward" in being a loyal Tri-Lab customer!!!" This morning I popped into the Redondo shop to have them swap cassettes from one set of wheels to another. Unlike most bike shops where I would have had to leave the wheels and pick them in a day or so (and not been able to train on either of my bikes).. my awesome friends at Tri-Lab busted out the tools and in a flash completed the task. I asked how much do I owe you, and with a smile.. they said no charge! (Try that at Helen's, not a chance!) Later that afternoon I had to bring my Cervelo back in cause I couldn't get the rear derailleur adjusted just right, again they busted at the tools made the adjustments needed and again no charge! * The amazing service and awesome staff is why Tri-Lab is my Tri/Bike shop, I wouldn't even think about going any where else!! Everyone in this store is a joke- from the owner to the manger to the sales guy. Asked to see some pedals and then asked to see a different pair and he says but you asked for those. This went back and forth like 3 times before I had to explain to him I wanted to see the other ones as well. The manager is just outright rude- yeah you Roberto. As a former manager at The Home Depot I couldn't believe his lack of respect for a paying customer right in front of the owner on top of that. Needless to say I immediately asked for a refund. These guys have absolutely no customer service skills whatsoever. I should've just made the drive to South Bay Cycle. That's the place you want to go- they totally get it. read more

I recently started competing in triathlons a few months ago, and the Staff at the Redondo TriLab have been there for me every step of the way. I would especially like to thank Nery at the Redondo Trilab location, who is the head of the bike dept. Nery has not only worked on my bike several times, but he has been extremely patient and generous with his time when it comes to helping a beginner triathlete.. I came in the day before the Long Beach Triathlon a few weeks ago, and Nery not only did an impromptu demo for several of us on "How to Change A Flat", but also answered any questions we had. Subsequently, we all purchased quite a few items for our bikes, which Nery also helped attach for us. What a great guy! After going to a few other local shops and having terrible experiences, I will only see Nery for my bike, and will refer him to friends, as well. Another great guy at Redondo who I wanted to mention was Bodie. Bodie is not only a very positive and helpful Staff member, but he truly cares about the sport and is extremely helpful with purchases. Staff here is rude. One of them couldn't be bothered when I asked him about wide saddle options for my 15 pound cervelo r5. He actually suggested that I put a heavy serfas saddle (the kind you would put on a cruiser) on a bike that I race with and that is right at the UCI minimum for weight. Ridiculous suggestion. I arrived to Triathlon Lab on a Saturday at about 3:00 p.m. and as soon as we arrived Ian Gonzalez approached us and asked if we had any questions. We mentioned that we were interested in having a road bike fitted for me. Although they don't do fittings on the weekends Ian made the exception and I was extremely appreciative as we traveled from the Valley just for this reason! Ian began by putting my road bike on the trainer and began asking me questions regarding future goals and assessing my current knowledge in cycling. He helped me with selecting the proper shoes (which were available at a great price!) and had me jump on the bike where he began his meticulous fitting. Ian's patience and knowledge was GREATLY appreciated as I am completely new to the sport. I would highly recommend Triathlon Lab to friends and family! Nothing but good things to say about these guys. Ive been riding for a while, trail, mountain a little road and I finally decided to get a newer road bike. Ive been to many stores that carry the brands that im partial to and I settled on Tri-Lab. I do alot of window shopping and browsing before a big purchase and Ive must of went in at least 3 times to browse and ask questions. I did my research and had it narrowed down to a few models. Every time I was greeted and treated well and all the guys had no problems answering my questions ranging from just basic talk to technical. When I was ready to purchase I was presented with a excellent deal and a test ride. I was properly fitted and the owner and his crew gave me a plethora of helpful advice and tips pertinent to my purchase.
