This was my first actual appointment with Jade, although I had already gone in for a consultation beforehand--and that consultation alone already made a strong impression and helped me feel comfortable trusting her with my hair. During the consultation, Jade took her time in a way that immediately stood out. She didn't rush through anything or treat it like a quick overview. Instead, she really listened to what I wanted, asked thoughtful questions, and carefully looked at my hair's current condition and history. What I appreciated most was how honest she was while still being kind--she didn't just tell me what I wanted to hear, she explained what would actually work best for my hair in terms of color results, maintenance, and overall health. She walked me through different possibilities and made sure I understood the reasoning behind her recommendations. By the end of that consultation, I already felt like she had a clear, personalized plan for me, which made me feel confident going into the actual appointment. When I came in for the service, Jade picked up right where we left off. She revisited everything we discussed during the consultation and made sure we were still aligned before starting. I really appreciated that she didn't assume anything--she checked in with me, confirmed the details, and made me feel involved in the process from the very beginning. Throughout the appointment, she was extremely communicative in a calm, natural way. She explained each step as she went--whether she was applying color, adjusting tones, sectioning, or cutting--and always made sure I understood what she was doing and why. It made the entire experience feel very transparent and reassuring. Instead of sitting in silence wondering what was happening, I felt included and informed the whole time. Her attention to detail was one of the most impressive parts. She didn't rush at any stage, even when it took extra time to refine things. With the haircut, she carefully shaped and rechecked sections to make sure everything flowed properly and suited my face shape. With the color, she was very intentional about tone balance and blending, making sure it looked natural, even, and well-integrated rather than patchy or overdone. Even after the main work was done, she continued making small refinements--adjusting little details that most people might not notice but that make a big difference in the final result. What made the experience feel even more special was the way Jade carries herself with genuine warmth. Even though this was my first full appointment with her, she made the environment feel very comfortable and welcoming. It never felt clinical or transactional--it felt personal in a really natural way, like she genuinely cared about how I felt during the process and how I would feel leaving. And at the end of the appointment, when everything was finished and I was fully styled, she gave me a hug. It wasn't rushed or awkward--it felt very genuine and kind, like a small but meaningful moment of connection after the service. That hug honestly made the whole experience feel even more personal and memorable. It gave a sense of warmth and care that went beyond just doing my hair well--it felt like she truly values the people she works with. Leaving the salon, I felt really happy with my hair, but also genuinely taken care of as a person. Even though this was just my first appointment, it already felt like I had found someone I could trust long-term with my hair. Jade combines technical skill, communication, attention to detail, and genuine kindness in a way that made the entire experience stand out.

Maddy is the best! She always listens to exactly what I want and makes my hair look incredible every time. She's super talented and so easy to talk to, which makes the whole experience even better. Tribe Salon has such a great vibe and Maddy really knows how to make you feel taken care of.

hair was completely uneven and choppy, not really sure how I was allowed to leave the salon looking like this, really can't believe I didn't get a refund either

Amy is a gem! For years, it had been hit or miss with different stylists at Tribe. Amy's so meticulous with her cut and much more refined with her techniques, not choppy or overly texturized like Kat who I was told "cuts exactly like Amy." No, not true! I told Kat to only cut 1/2 inch! She razor slashed into my hair and cut more than 1 1/2 inch! (See photo.) On the other hand, Amy listened, spent nearly 35 minutes on my hair, working in segments, but has now left Tribe and is moving back to Vacaville. The owner, Josie, did a great job the first time I went but the second cut was not the same. I don't know what happened? She went with a dry cut, did maybe 10 minutes of work, got someone else to finish off and moved on to do someone else's hair. Amy was the one who corrected the cut 2 months later and I looked and felt amazing! I want to stay with Tribe but wishing I can find someone with Amy's experience, superb cutting skills and scrupulous work ethics.

I went here for a haircut the other day and loved it. It's huge inside with high ceilings and two large rooms for the stylists plus the wash area. There also looked to be a staff lounge area and a lecture type area too but not positive on that. Regardless, it was bright and open. Staff were very friendly. There was a nice seating area too. They have a great website to select a stylist and learn more about them. I'd go back again.

I called to make an appointment (twice) and they wouldn't book me an appointment because when I gave them my name the computer said "see stylist" but I don't have a hairdresser there. Danielle literally said to me "go somewhere else" * yes my name is Skye MacLachlan but I didn't have back to back appointments in march. I used to see Audrey before she moved and then I saw someone different the last time I was there. I had a lovey time chatting with the assistant and I complemented the hairdresser when she was done. I don't remember who it was I've only seen them once. She gave me purple peekaboo highlights and I loved it. I even left a generous tip. I work in the service industry and would die before being a rude customer. I was either confused with someone else or you are lying to save face. PS. This is the first yelp review I've ever made. I usually don't bother with stuff like this but I was completely shocked with how I was treated (as a returning customer!!!) read more

When Kat first did my hair it looked great. Two and half weeks later I've got orange and yellow instead of platinum blonde. I paid $250 for a great haircut and terrible color. I've never had this happen before and I feel that I didn't get what I wanted. Kat made a comment about how she hadn't heard from a previous client and she knew it was nothing she had done- which in that case was true but in my case yes it is something you did and I refuse to go back and have my hair screwed up again. I'm so disappointed and now to go to another hairstylist to fix the color. I'm sorry I ever decided to go to tribe salon and even more upset at paying $250 for a terrible color. My advice would be to think twice before going to tribe salon as your hair may look great in the beginning but it won't look great two weeks later. read more

I went to Gabby at Tribe Salon for the first time a few weeks ago. When I asked for highlights I ended up with bleach blonde streaks in my medium brown hair. I specifically told her during the rinse that I hadn't died my hair in about 10 years and was terrified of the bleached look, which is when she just went quiet and said..."oh". I knew I was in trouble. It looks absolutely terrible and I will never go to this place again. I wouldn't trust them to fix it. read more

amazing job! everyone that i met was soo sweet, kind, and understanding. i came in with really messed up hair with box dye residue and bleach damage, but they took the time to analyze my hair and make a plan, and i walked out with hair that they wanted to put on their instagram lol!! she also gave my hair a trim, which i was scared for because i don't have much length but she promised she wouldn't cut too much, and she cut it in a way that i can't even tell any is gone, but my dead ends are gone! wonderful experience, highley recommend. i had Kat for my color correction and cut, if you call ask for her ! also i think her name was ella helped with my blowdry and wash and she was super sweet and great too! read more

I came to Tribe for my stylist, Ross, who I've been with for several years now. He has taken my hair, which was a hassle and a sore spot for me, to something that makes me feel pretty. He really listens to what I want and explains his process before he cuts so we are on the same page. When he is with a client, he really attends to them. Tribe Salon as a whole is a really wonderful place. The ambiance is fun and chill at the same time, the front desk girls are sweet, and the stylists all seem very kind. If you're new to the area or looking for a new stylist, I recommend Ross Robinson and Tribe Salon! read more

I was in a pinch. It was Memorial Day and my only day off since being offered a promotion at work. My hair was red.....very red and my gray roots were starting to show. I needed a more professional look for my new job but want to get away from coloring every 6-8 weeks to cover gray and figure it's about time to try and embrace the gray. I called every salon that showed "open" online and they were all booked for the day. I was at the point I was going to attempt it myself when Josie from Tribe called me back and said Gabby had a cancellation. I live in downtown Reno, had no idea where I was going or how far off an Uber ride it was going to be and I didn't care. I needed to get this red out and I was putting all my trust in them. I got there and Gabby met me at the door, her and Josie looked at my very red hair and formulated a plan. Both of them began working on my hair and after only approximately 2 hours my hair looked AMAZING! I absolutely love it and have already gotten so many compliments on it. My hair was dry and lifeless after two months of no haircut and California salons being closed due to COVID-19 pandemic shutdown mandate. Fortunately I was in town for the weekend and Josie was able to fit me into her staff's schedule with Bianca. The moment you walk into Tribe you feel at home. It's warm, comfortable and inviting . The staff is very friendly and professional. I had my hair done by Josie today and I love it! I was impressed by how detailed and thorough my consultation was . She genuinely cared about my hair concerns and came up with great solutions. After reading online reviews of Tribe, I took a chance and booked a slot with Kate, and Tribe accommodated me right away. I am so happy with my experience at Tribe Salon and with my new go-to stylist Darlene that I literally am writing this review the night of getting my hair done! Darlene took me on as a new client wanting a perm. You can tell she really cares about her clients because she was realistic about the process and if my hair type was going to take it. I was so nervous about the result because it's obviously PERMANENT but I am so thankful I found her because she nailed the hair vibes I was going for! I never had a hairdresser who I always went to because I couldn't find one I liked & I hate small talk. I would only get my hair cut when I absolutely had to. But, I found Meko at Tribe, and I've been happy (with much better hair) ever since! She is so nice, and she really knows her stuff! Our appointments always feel like they fly by in a good way. I went to Tribe Salon two times and got my hair done by the fabulous Madi! Both times were life changing! Tribe Salon has such a warm and welcoming environment! Everyone is very friendly and I really feel comfortable there! The first time I went, I knew I wanted to get some blonde in my hair but wasn't sure how it'd turn out! Madi was extremely helpful and friendly! She asked me a few questions and we figured out what would be best for my hair! She was extremely professional and made the entire experience fun! The results were amazing! The second time I went I wanted to take a risk and do more blonde! Boy did she deliver! The results were jaw dropping! I have never looked so good in my life! The blonde was blended beautifully and she really went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with it! The only way I knew about it was through a friend asking me to pick up moisturizer for her while she was down. I've thanked my friend, of course, because even upon walking into the shop, the smell tells you you're in a place that values quality ingredients. I wish the owner would make a Pantry Products candle that smells just like the shop. I'd buy it in bulk. Because I have dry skin, I'm careful about products with oil because they tend to sit on my skin instead of moisturizing it. Therefore, I've hesitatingly used products with oils, but the Pantry has changed my mind. The serum is my favorite product, hands down--not only does it smell wonderful (to the point where I've had people ask me what I'm wearing) but it also moisturizes my skin beautifully, and I can't stop touching my face because it feels so soft. It's a relief, too, to know that these products aren't harmful to my body or the environment, something that's become even more important to me since reading an article about the cancer-causing chemicals in talc. I also use the face cleanser, with jojoba oil, and it's moved to the top of my cleansers, since my skin feels a lot less dry when using it. I also like the customer service, which is informative and friendly without being pushy. The people working at the store know their stuff and have effectively steered me toward the right products. Finally, check out the Instagram feed if you haven't already: the owner is highly engaging without being overly performative, and her aesthetic reflects the shop and the products. My only quibble--and I feel terrible writing this because I love this shop and love to support small businesses, having worked for one myself--is that a batch of my moisturizer never seemed to work for me, as it was broken no matter how many times I tried to stir it. When I went in to get more serum, I mentioned that the moisturizer hadn't worked well for me/was way too oily. The person behind the counter said she wished I'd brought it in to replace it as long as I hadn't used it all and that they'd had a problem with a certain batch number. She mentioned, too, that another person brought her empty tin in after trying to use this faulty moisturizer, but it couldn't be replaced because she'd used it all. This seemed kind of curious to me: why not just replace it then? I mean, I understand people can be sketchy at times, but it was obvious I and the other customer weren't being that way. In a previous business I'd worked for, we would have replaced that, no questions asked. This also would have encouraged me to try the moisturizer again. I'd encourage the company to replace known faulty products, even if the user had mistakenly used all of it up. Overall, though? If you love skincare products like I do, you *must* try this place. Don't wait for a friend to tell you about it. Don't think that, Oh, maybe some day I'll go there. No. Go. Small businesses are an important pillar of our community, but even more, your skin will look, feel, and smell wonderful, and you won't be putting a bunch of nasty chemicals in your skin and body. So glad I discovered this place!

A little, but its not bad at all, she even uses a numbing cream after the first pass so you don't feel a thing after that. Is it expensive? Considering that you are permanently tattooing your face, NO! You get what you pay for, and Amber provides the after care AND a touch up appointment, so I find her to be extremely affordable! I save so much money and time not buying eyebrow pencils and filling in my brows, that alone is priceless. PLUS, the result is so natural!! How long is the healing time? About a month, but honestly after they peel the first time (about 5 days after your appointment) they look perfect (you don't even realize you still have some time to heal). I love my eyebrows and if you don't love yours, book an appointment today (Amber is the best in Reno and her schedule fills up fast!!) I already booked my touch up for 2022! The Pharmacy window is only open 9:00am to 8pm with a half hour closure for lunch. The rest of the store still cares a huge collection of stuff. Items that apparently are "shoplifting magnets" ie most beauty products are now in locked shelves. ATMOSPHERE There seem to be fewer "dodgy" patrons than in the past. Shelves are better displayed and don't seem as cramed. It is clean and well lit. SERVICE: Still pretty slow, and staff has been drastically reduced. I have had no problems with either the pharmacy or the front checkout, it just takes a while. On the plus side, staff are friendly and professional. My insurance no longer covers prescriptions from Walgreens. I just learned that Walgreens is not affiliated with the large third-party Pharmacy Benefit Manager. So the convenience and location have been major factors in me continuing to shop here.

They closed for lunch early. They've got a close time from 130 to 2. I showed up 10 minutes before 130 and they already have their sign out of their closed for lunch. I've sat in line at 5:45 PM on a Saturday and because the car in front of me took so long I got up to the window at 6:01 and the guy close the drive-through and boarded it up right in front of me and didn't acknowledge me at all because they close at six. Picking up here is the most inconvenient place for even the easiest consistent prescriptions. Go anywhere else but here unless you don't have a job and you stay at home wife if you have time to drive to the pharmacy four times to pick up your prescription and enjoy being spoken to condescendingly every time you go.

Tribe Salon is such a feel-good environment every single time I walk in. From the moment you arrive, Dani at the front desk is so personable and genuinely helpful she sets the tone for the whole experience. The salon décor is super cozy, and not only are the stylists amazing, but the other clients are friendly too. I always end up having fun, meaningful conversations with new people it truly feels like a community, not just a salon. I've gone to several different stylists at Tribe and they absolutely nails it every time. My blonde balayage with face-framing "money pieces," long layers, and overall cut are always on point. My hair feels silky smooth when I leave, and beyond her talent, she's just a joy to be around warm, pleasant, and so skilled. I also love that Tribe Salon takes great care of their employees. The rep from Tribe returned my call almost immediately & it seemed as if I was being interviewed & was asked to text her a picture. Honestly I can appreciate this type of care as she was able to pair me up with the most qualified stylist, & at the last minute, like 3/4 days that I needed to have my hair cut. I was not familiar with the location of the shop & thinking I would be late I called her & she was able to direct me with no problems & contacted they stylist that I was on my way. I am writing to formally request a full refund for a highly unsatisfactory service received at your salon. On February 14th, I had an appointment with Jessica for a root touch-up and highlights. The service resulted in my hair remaining brown, without highlights, and becoming severely brittle. Subsequent attempts to rectify the issue were unsuccessful; Jessica failed to attend a scheduled follow-up, and a toner applied by Gloria did not address the lack of highlights. Due to the unacceptable outcome and the necessity of seeking professional correction elsewhere for the damage and desired style, I canceled a further appointment. I request a complete refund for the service, including the cash tip provided. I was previously informed that my refund request would be escalated to the owner, but I have yet to receive a response. I came to Meko with chemically damaged, flat and neglected hair. I'm a natural mousy brown with fine hair, so it was difficult for me to find a regimen and product that provided volume while also maintaining health and moisture. With Meko's knowledge of hair products, dyes, conditioners, and cutting, she was able to build my hair back to it's best potential! Just had a visit with Bianca. Awesome hair stylist. She took the time to understand what cut/style and end goal is after my hair grows out more. She gave me exactly what I wanted. She's very pleasant and easy to talk to, also focused at task at hand and I will definitely be going back to see her again. Monique is one of the best stylists I have been to in the past 15 yrs. I wear my hair very very short and spikey and it has been difficult to find someone to cut my hair exactly the way I want it. I called Tribe and Moniques asked to see a picture of the style I wanted. She said she wouldn't even touch my hair until we were both comfortable with her doing my hair. New to the area, I was looking for a stylist to do a cut, single color, highlights and then fantasy colors on top of that. It's a time intensive process and finding a stylist who is both patient and efficient to get the job done can be a challenge. Amy at Tribe Salon fit the bill. The salon is all good vibes and it is beautiful also. Sydney has done my hair and she did a neat and pretty job. She's really friendly and makes you feel welcomed. Just got a haircut and balayage with Monique. She fit me in on short notice, and rocked the cut and color! She understood EXACTLY what I was looking for, and did an amazing job. I love my stylist, Darlene Imiola, she is fantastic. I'd follow her anywhere. She recently move to Tribe and I like her new location...low key vibe, just a nice atmosphere to be pampered in. I always leave feeling like a "new" person when I have Darlene cut & style my hair. read more
