Reasonable prices, relaxing atmosphere! My mother and I went in without appointments for a mani/pedi and a wax. They fit us in with ease. My mom's manicure ($12) was lovely. Her nails were yellowish, and they had them looking absolutely incredible in about 30mns. My pedicure ($25) was fantastic- really comfortable massage chair and loads of gossipy magazines to read through. After, I got a brow and lip wax ($15 total!! so cheap!). I was worried at first because the waxer didn't ask any questions about my brows before she went in for it, but she did a LOVELY job. i will definitely return! i loved my pedicure and wax here! only improvement i'd say is maybe a little chattier staff but it didn't damper my experience. i will def def def be back! read more

Yay for Yelpers! I took the suggestion on getting Trinity for the eyebrow wax, and I'm super happy. Her fingers move quickly and surely, and she really seems to know what she's doing. It WAS kinda odd that we didn't really talk about what I wanted first, so when I brought it up afterwards, she simply said that she could judge my personality from when I first walked in. Works for me! And I think my skin's a bit sensitive. It swelled a bit above both eyebrows toward the center, so I put some aloe vera on it. Thank God I didn't have many plans for the rest of the day! I came here for my first eyebrow wax ever and was very pleased! I have very difficult eyebrows, she admitted it to me herself, and I was really hoping that a wax would make them look more tamed and even, and they did! The wax was very painless and very fast even with my difficult eyebrows, but she did such a great job and put a cream (aloe, I think) that got rid of the redness and puffiness instantly. Me and my friend were probably out of there in twenty minutes. Go here for eyebrows! She's very knowledgeable, so you'll be in good hands! The atmosphere of this place is great too! Great place for eyebrow shaping! I've gone to many different places (waxing/threading) and was never really completely satisfied with my eyebrows. Finally, I read about Trinity on Yelp and decided to give it a go. I normally don't like waxing, but it wasn't as painful as I thought it would be. Trinity did a great job with my eyebrows. She first took her time to study them before actually working on them. She said because I am Asian, a more definite arch would bring out my eyes. I actually went here a while back (try half a year ago) and got my eyebrows waxed by Trinity. She was amazing. I have been always slightly paranoid about getting my eyebrows waxed because most people try to make my eyebrows super pointy, and I really don't like that. I'm also scared about losing my eyebrow hair (all my mom's friends keep telling me that if you get getting your eyebrows plucked the hairs just won't grow back). This place is my go-to place for pedicures and eyebrow waxing. There is no other person to do your eyebrows than Trinity - I leave it up to her ever time and she never disappoints! They are not pushy, and it is not your typical run-of-the-mill place. It is new, clean and organized. The massage chairs are great while you are getting your pedicure, and for the best part (the foot and leg massage), they do it the best. Furthermore, they must not use a lot of the same chemicals as other places do because I didn't get a headache from being in there for a long time like I do with other places. The only thing that I would have to say is that parking can be extremely troublesome on Mass Ave. Either get there at off time and pay the meter, or ride public transport. It is right by the T and about a 5 min walking distance from Porter. Also, just as an FYI, they take credit card, but you can't put the tip on the card. The tip is cash only. read more

Best eyelash extensions in Boston! Especially for an enhanced natural look for Asian eyes. They make your eyes look bigger and brighter. And the lashes they use are nice and soft and don't irritate my eyes. Pricing is comparable to other eyelash extension salons around Boston, but the extensions here last for at least month. I get them refilled approx. every three weeks. I've never gotten my nails done here so I can't speak to that. Seems like there are some pretty mixed reviews for pedicures here. read more

This is not an intimate, pampering type of place. And I like that about it. Get in, get pretty, get on with your day. The staff are friendly and courteous. They do very good mani-pedis at a price that I think is very good for the neighborhood. They do book ahead, but they have enough staff that you can usually drop in and be helped within 10 minutes. Have Trinity do your eyebrows. She is the best I've ever seen, regardless of price. It was a co-workers birthday, so we rounded up a few of us and decided to treat ourselves with a pedicure. We made an appointment for a party of 4 for about 1:30. Yes, it was slightly our fault that we did not actually show up to the salon until about 1:45 but the woman told us to come in ANYTIME AFTER 1:30. Granted this salon which deems itself a 'spa', though I did not really see any indication of a spa, save for the fact that they did waxing and seemed to have a room or two for 'massages'. We were told to pick out our colors. So yes I understand I was about 15 minutes late, but lady C'MON my toes are going to be this shade of color for a few weeks. Standing next to me as am I deciding to pick whether or not I should go with a hot pink or dark purple and repeatedly telling me 'I NEED TO TAKE YOU NOW' is not really going to 1. Make this process any quicker, cause I will take my time 2. Make me give you a good review on yelp. Anyways I picked out my color and they began work on us. It is quite a busy salon-right between Harvard and Porter squares, which attracts many locals I would assume as well as students and people passing by. I would definitely make an appointment. At $25 for a pedicure I would say the price is right for the location. I would consider going back, but I just don't like to be rushed!! Especially when deciding the shade of my polish. read more

I thought that the place was nice inside. The pedicure chairs are very comfortable. The prices were a little high, but expected for the area. I gave it three stars mainly because I felt that you were just a number. The pedicures were very short. It's the shortest pedicure I've ever gotten and probably the most basic. At first I thought maybe the girl I got rushed with mine, but the lady next to me was done in about the same amount of time. I'm from Virginia so maybe we get spoiled.... I came here based on yelp reviews. I started my new job today and I needed to get my nails and eyebrows done ASAP. So I went yesterday morning in the pouring rain. (no umbrella). I have no idea why we did not bring one. This place is a few minutes from Porter Square. The place looks brand new, I got my nails done with no wait at all. I had to wait for Trinity she was doing eyelash extensions. The eyebrow station is on the other side of where they do nails. Trinity told it to me straight. She said your eyebrows are not even and they are not the right shape. She really listened to what you wanted. I did not want them too thin. She recommended I grow them in a bit to get the best shape for my face. I will def switch from where I usually get my eyebrows done to this place. It is cheaper and if you do not mind getting your eyebrows done in front of others than what are you waiting for?? Trinity was great. I will be back. read more

Just got back from getting a spa pedicure with a pal at Beauty Spa. Our overall experience led us to agree that we are "definitely coming back!" The welcome was swift and warm. The service was attentive, comprehensive and skilled. The tools, chairs and interior were new, clean and appealing (the chair had the most user-friendly, option-rich remote control I've ever seen in a salon), and the decor even leaned moderately into the realm of "urban oasis." Jackie, my technician heard me talking about food and we ended up having a fantastic conversation about tasty spots to check out all around the Boston area. Girl knows her stuff. After the service, and three or four passes under the drying lamps, my pal and I were treated to what I would call a "walk-about winter wrap" in which your freshly painted toe nails are coated with some cuticle oil, your tootsies are wrapped in a light layer of plastic, you slip on your shoes & socks and they send you back out into the snowy streets. About an hour later I unwrapped my feet to find ten perfectly smooth and happy toenails. read more

Good: inexpensive, friendly, clean, fast Bad: Crappiest manicure I've ever had- started peeling by the next morning. Girl helping, although sweet, was extremely inattentive- I have freaky foot calluses that I had to point out, and they still were barely touched, and a decent number of ragged nails left at the end. Well... I've gone to Trinity's twice now, and both times Hellen really struggled to do my lashes, so much so that she called Trinity in to help. Both times Hellen ended up tugging on my lashes or getting them painfully stuck under the pads that are placed under your eyes. The second time I went, Hellen also dropped things near my head and even took a phone call when she was getting my lash lift started and I ended up laying there for a while so she could finish her call. When I first laid down she also forgot to turn on music, so it was awkwardly quiet until Trinity came in and turned it on. In the end the lash lift looks good, but it was uncomfortable and took longer than expected. In addition to this, during the process she started giving me what I guess was a head and neck massage, but I honestly found it kind of painful- it made the skin on my forehead feel irritated and when she was rubbing my temples it made the lash lift pads move a bit, which also tugged on my lashes. What made it worse is that I have curly hair so the rubbing she did on my head really messed up my hair and gave me knots. Hellen was nice, but I would not recommend going to her for a lash lift. read more

I found a lot of the poorer reviews of this place kind of snotty. I am not sure what other people are accustomed to, but I had a really nice time here. I got a french pedicure and, taking everyone's advice, I also went to Trinity to get my eyebrows done. For a while now I've only had them threaded, but her reviews were so great that I went back. And boy am I glad. She's amazing, it doesn't hurt (she uses cream wax) even half as much as regular wax (the yellow stuff) and it's faster than threading, so it's easier than that as well. The woman has magic hands and she is very tactful and very pleasant -- she has very light hands, it doesn't feel like a hippo's sitting on your face while she works. The pedi was also nice -- however, because I was freaked out by people complaining of infections, I decided to cut my nails before going. They thought I was a little weird, but this way I don't have to worry about my toe's health and my nails look great. They did the white strip, then a base, then color, then top and it looks great and seems like it will last quite a while. My friend and I decided to make this a once a month place from now on. It's well priced and just affordable enough to do it about once a month. I finally found a place in Cambridge that lives up to the standards of places I've been to in Los Angeles. YAY! I needed a good place for pedicure and eye brow, and I chose this place through Yelp. I called and took an appointment. I arrived there and had to wait less than 5 minutes. The pedicure was just fantastic. I could finally relax and even reading my book while waiting with my feet in the water. The girls that took care of me was very gentle with the pedicure tools and massage. I ask for a French polish on my nail and I had no problems for the drying. I've been here twice for a gel manicure and once for a pedicure, and each experience has been great. Every time I go to pay, it's always way less than I was expecting, and all the technicians are very kind. The place is clean, centrally located near restaurants and bars, and each time I end up with the best gel manicure ever. The first time I visited, I had a formal event and wanted gold gels, and the technician actually made them in front of me, mixing this fine (beautiful!) gold glitter into the clear gel stuff. I had a fantastic experience at beauty spa yesterday! The location is really nicely decorated and professional. I went to have a gel manicure fixed (done at a place in Davis) that was peeling and chipping after only SEVEN days. This was my first visit and I saw Momo, who did an absolutely beautiful job on my manicure. She explained why the old gel manicure wasn't done properly, and explained everything she was doing. She also noticed my nails were a bit thin and suggested a more gentle shellac. She took so much time filing, removing cuticles/hangnails that the other lady didn't even bother with... Momo took so much care to make sure the gel was applied properly and carefully so it would last as long as possible. She also checked in numerous times to make sure the cuticle trimming wasn't hurting me. I'm definitely going back! Also, if you pay for the gel manicure with cash, it's $30 as opposed to $33, if I'm remembering correctly. On my way out, I asked if Trinity was available to speak about eyebrow waxing and tinting. I'd read so many excellent reviews about Trinity's work here on Yelp, so Trinity just took me into her office and did me up. She explained (just as thoroughly as Momo) what to do to improve growing out my eyebrows. The tinting looks amazing, like there's brow makeup on but a bit more subtle. I just wish it lasted longer! It was only $10, but with shaping it was $27. I'm absolutely going back to this place, I had a really fun visit and everyone at beauty spa is so good at what they do. read more

I went here with a friend a few weeks ago. I'm very happy with my nails but was less satisfied with my end payment. My friend booked us a manicure but I got there early and asked if they could fit me in for a pedicure as well. They were amazing and did. They made sure my nails looked amazing. However when I went to pay I was shocked to see I was charged both separately and it didn't become a mani pedi and just paid the difference for the gel polish. I loved my Manicurist and would highly recommend her, But was taken a back at the fact it wasn't charged as a mani pedi but two individual treatments. I feel like I could have rated Beauty Spa 5 stars, if not for my rough heels! My toes look really great, and the color is nice. My eyebrows were waxed well. It's just...when I leave a pedicure, I want to feel like I'm walking on clouds and ... hmmm, I don't. Sad!!!! However, the facility is really wonderful, clean and well-decorated and the massage chairs are very nice. They have a good selection of colors and everyone is really friendly and accommodating. I had picked out a nail color and while the manicurist was poking at them, she said, "why don't you use this color instead--it'll look better." She was right! I love Beauty Spa. I go here once every two weeks, usually for a manicure (i have acrylic nails), pedicure, or eyebrow wax. I go to Jimmy to get my nails done, and he does a fabulous job! He is chatty and funny once he is comfortable with you, and he always takes his time and makes my nails look perfect. And he draws the cutest little designs on my toes, too ;) Plus he'll tell me if the color I chose will come out ugly. And I appreciate that kind of honesty. I've had my eyebrows waxed here a few times as well, I think by Trinity. She is quick and it's pretty painless, and does a great job shaping... she even pointed out some of my faux pas in plucking my own for years and reshaped... now they look great! The physical space is clean and bright, they have a great selection of polishes and many chairs, and they don't talk about you the entire time you're sitting there (like many other nail salons I've been to).
