    Peanut butter cup

We came here twice for the olive oil cake. It is simple, elegant, and a generous slice that two can share. Both of our servers gushed about it when we ordered it and that always makes me feel good, like I aced a restaurant pop quiz. Service is warm and quick, the servers check in frequently but are not obtrusive. The restaurant can get a bit loud, you may need to shout to your companion. We tried: Winter chicory salad - they will split this onto 2 plates if you ask. Well balanced salad and a good portion size. BLT soup - tomato soup with croutons and bacon. Soup was bacon infused which I could actually taste, this was good. Mussels with wine and nudja butter - gnudja is a spicy Italian soft salami. This is red but not spicy at all. I couldn't really taste the gnudja to be honest but the mussels and bread were cooked well. Market fish - this was salmon on the night we went. The salmon was cooked well and moist. Risotto with leeks - large portion, rice was soft just a bit beyond al dente, a comforting dish Peanut butter cup - exactly what it sounds like, a big peanut butter cup. Shell is hard, there is no cake or ice cream with this. It tasted like Reese's but after one bite I was good to go. Olive oil cake with whipped cream - the real star of the show! Lots of soft lightly sweetened whipped cream and the cranberry compote cuts through the richness. We considered ordering another to take out. Street parking is easy near the restaurant.

For our first night in Jackson, we were just going to be casual, no reservations anywhere (plus we didn't want to make any in case our flight was delayed or something) but our ride share driver warned us not to trust websites because people forget about them and aren't worried about us tourists during off season when they are on the beach with a cold beer in their hands. I didn't believe him, I trusted a website and I was wrong. I left my list of places to eat in the hotel room so I tried to go by memory. The second place was also closed... Luckily, Trio was one restaurant I did extensive research on and actually wanted to go to, so we popped inside to see if they'd seat us without a reservation. Hooray! They did. We got the table with the extra chairs by the drafty door, but at that point, I just wanted a cocktail and some food and I wasn't being picky about anything. Our server was super nice and very, very on point. She made sure to check on us and gave us great recommendations. She knew we weren't locals but she let us spin the "off season, locals discount wheel" anyway. This was a great memory for us because we happened to win a big prize, one free entrée. Now you're wondering well that's cool but it can't be that great of a prize. Oh, it was. We shared the bison steak special that was priced at $90 so we basically got our meal 50% off. I felt so guilty and the smile on our servers face when she says "ohhh.... that's a good one..." was priceless. They did make sure to add an off season 20% tip guarantee on the bill, pre discount, which made me feel better. The place is lovely, with art on the walls for sale. I like the open kitchen and watching everyone enjoy themselves, employees and guests alike. The food here is phenomenal. Both of our appetizers were fantastic. I am going to start to add corn to my burrata salads now too. We got two styles of potatoes and neither of them disappointed. Our bison special was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. I wanted to gnaw on the bone. Their chimichurri is excellent. The cocktails were good but not the best of the trip.

This restaurant is located by public parking so the walk isn't too long. We arrived on a Thursday around 6:30 and had a choice to sit either inside or outside. We opted for inside since it was a little warm. Our server greeted us immediately and was very knowledgeable about the menu and wines available. I ordered the Caesar salad and margherita pizza. The salad was perfectly dressed and the pizza had a great flavor. Service was spot on and friendly and it was perfect for our first night in Jackson.

During our vacation in Jackson we dined at Trio based on the reviews. Lots of 5 stars which they totally deserve!! The ambiance is energetic yet cozy. Our server, Amber was outstanding. She gave great recommendations, always came at the right time to meet our needs and so friendly! We started with the shishito peppers and carrots in a sauce. They were the best!! My husband ordered the Fresh Pea Risotto and added shrimp. It was so perfect, everything so fresh and hot. The peas tasted as if they were picked from the garden just before we were served. He is still talking about that dish a month later. I ordered the house special that day which was bone in rib eye with chimichurri sauce along with the most delicious fingerling potatoes. The steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly!!! The fingering potatoes were crisp and hot. It truley was the best meals we have ever had! I seriously don't know why anyone would give a negative review to this establishment.‍Thank you to the chefs and staff at Trio for providing us with such a great meal and experience! We appreciate all that you do! I'd seriously vacation in Jackson again just to eat here again!

A yummy spot to dine and a sister restaurant to Local. Service was spot on! Their Manhattan cocktail was great and a perfect wind down to the day. We also enjoyed the starters of Marinated Olives with chili & orange peel, and their Wood Fired Bread service with basil infused olive oil and Nduja butter. Their Arugula Salad was light, fresh and very much enjoyed. I paired this with a bowl of their delicious BLT soup which is a creative blend of bacon infused tomato soup with arugula pesto, bacon lardons and garlic croutons. The Marguerite Pizza with pepperoni was slightly undercooked in the wood fire oven according to Hubs, but it was eaten! We will return!

Highly recommend, must stop if you're on the hunt for an upscale meal. Order the focaccia, you won't be disappointed. The small comes in 4 pieces with a butter spread and a basil infused oil. We ordered the wild game pasta and the snap pea risotto. Both had super great flavors. We wrapped it all up with a piece of the olive oil cake with whipped cream and macerated strawberry's. I could've done without the strawberry's but the whipped cream and cake were super delicious.

Incredible. Delicious. Innovative. Loved every bite. THE BREAD was to die for. Whatever the butter and infused olive oil was, top notch. We got pasta and a buffalo ribeye. Both were delightful. The service was great, kind and attentive. Super cute ambiance, very modern. Would love to come back to try more any day.

We had a reservation and were seated under a vent that had cold air blowing on us (it was 15 degrees outside). I brought it up to the server and they admitted that the vent on the roof was above that table and they can't get bldg management to close it. I find it odd to not just rearrange tables instead of attempting to seat patrons in and uncomfortable position. My boyfriend did ask the host if we could move tables and they did move us. Our new sever was very nice. They did have a runner sending out appetizers and we didn't have any plates or silverware but our server did notice right away and brought us sets. She was on top of it. The shishitos themselves were good but I don't think the lemon and labneh were a good addition. The pizzas were pretty good. I enjoyed the potato pizza. The portion was generous for the cost. Menu was interesting but not sure this would be on the top of the list for a future trip.

Wood Fired Bread (Large, $14, one piece eaten!)

Trio offers a unique take on popular modern dining, in a cozy hall smack in the middle of Jackson. Low lights and bright wood walls with high windows capture the setting sunlight in warm, rich colors. It's quite busy and a little tight, so make sure you get a reservation if possible. Our experience started out great, as our server was polite and very helpful with menu questions. We started with the Wood Fired Bread ($14, large), which was an absolutely delightful helping of four fluffy, flavorful foccacia wedges. We couldn't get enough of the basil-infused olive oil and honey-whipped ricotta that it came with! The tap list was nice, with a handful of local options from $7-8. Would be nice to have a dark beer besides Guinness, especially since local brewers do some lovely stouts and black lagers. I would have had a second (finished my pint before food arrived) but the server never even asked. Next, the SRF Beef Carpaccio ($23) was another shared dish, but this one didn't quite land. The beef slices themselves were rich and tasty, but quickly overwhelmed by the heavy-handed horseradish aioli. All together, all I could taste was horseradish after a couple seconds. The only real upside was the house made potato chips, these were FIRE. Honestly, throw some furikake on these sell them on their own! Unfortunately, our experience went downhill from here. Our party of four placed a relatively simple order: Person 1: Risotto (Note for later, I deliberately pointed at the Main, as I knew there was a side) Person 2: Seared Scallops ($22, MP) Person 3: Market Fish (Alaskan Halibut) ($45, MP) Person 4: Side of Potatoes and Side of Risotto ($12 each) After the expected wait, we were brought the scallops, fish, and three sides: potatoes, risotto, and mushrooms. Hmm, maybe the mushrooms were a mistake and they were bringing our risotto entree? We decided to be a little patient and wait. Our friend found that the Halibut was near raw in the middle, but we weren't sure if that was intentional since we're from Hawaii and eat quite a bit of seared Ahi that's intentionally raw in the middle. We called the server back, who said "Oh we can have them cook it more for you if you'd like." I made it a point to ask, "Sorry, is this how it's supposed to be served?" She thought for a second and replied "I don't think so." I also asked about the missing risotto and she said oh, sorry, I thought you ordered the mushrooms, I'll have them put in another order of risotto! When she returned with a side of risotto instead of an entree, we decided it wasn't worth complaining about again. There was really no way to confuse our order as I had pointed at the menu and the server had nodded in acknowledgement. The scallops were pricey ($22 for two), and again, notably undercooked inside. The sear was delicious, but it seems like whoever is doing seafood doesn't quite have a grip on their overall heating technique. The risotto side ($12) was undercooked, crunchier than a proper al dente. We thought it was too heavy on the cheese, but that's a personal preference. Our friend let us sample their risotto in case ours was just a rushed job, but honestly, the texture was the same. I just can't recommend this dish. Our friends did enjoy the Halibut and fingerling potatoes. There were so many promising elements that were just unfortunately marred by poor quality control and questionable service. With so many other options in Jackson, it's important to strive for perfection. I added a star back for the server recognizing our subpar experience and going out of her way to comp one of the risotto sides. I can only hope that by seeing the issues, they can continue to work to do better for their customers.

I think i found the best restaurant in Jackson. Wow! What a hip spot with amazing decor, awesome vibe and a superb dinner menu. Our server William (shoutout) was very attentive and accommodating. We started with a round of drinks. I enjoyed a Hey Zeus and my wife had a Petro Club. I loved my beer. Served with a slice of lime it was light and refreshing. For an appetizer, we split a Cesar salad minus anchovies. It was served with a mixture of green leaves and a light dressing. For entrees, we chose the Pan Seared Alaskan Halibut (OMG) over a cauliflower purée and a Heirloom tomato and pepperoni pizza as my kiddo was with us. The Halibut was most likely the best I've ever had and I've enjoyed my fair share. What made the dish was the cauliflower purée and a chili drizzle. I'll be thinking about that for a while. Not to be forgotten, the pizza was very good, too. Thin crust and flavorful. Tonight we also enjoyed dessert. We shared the peanut butter cup. Amazing! Not super sweet, which we appreciated. The salt on top, coupled with the chocolate and whipped peanut butter, made the dish. Shoutout to the chef and staff. Just super job all around!

    Drink menu- N/A Grapefruit Mule
    Danielle T.

I thoroughly regret dining at Trio as it was not worth the potentially damaging health risks to myself and my baby. The halibut special and pork chop were excellent. The two star is for being served an alcoholic drink when I ordered a mocktail, which is listed on their menu as a "Grapefruit Mule", an N/A option (the only mule on their entire drink menu). When my husband got the bill it stated Tito's grapefruit mule. The waitress proceeded to tell us there was a new mule on the menu (there is only 1-picture attached) with alcohol (not true). It sounds like after talking to the manager people have ordered the N/A version with alcohol so they have adjusted their POS system as such. This is a warning for anyone who can't drink alcohol and visits Trio, for me it's because I'm pregnant. I expressed my concerns to the manager so I'm hopeful that their staff is better educated or there will be menu changes to address this dangerous issue.

The so called General Tso steak sauce was like a thimbleful smear and completely irrelevant. BBQ Ramen seasoning? Not even enough to get a taste profile of it. The trout with a green curry sauce was good but again, ummmm.... Trout has a subtle flavor. Green curry coconut sauce, and stuffed with another type of Asian something something....might as just as well better to use a neutral tasting fish like a better quality tilapia imho. Let trout taste like trout. Use a different, neutral tasting fish for these kinds of sauces and fillings. Well at least it wasn't covered with a garnish of micro greens lol. Just a little cilantro heh heh heh. I mean don't get me wrong. Both entrees were okay. But a waste of quality fish when a less costly fish would have been fine what with all those other flavors. And the foam and powder embellishments on the steak were barely noticeable. The whole menu reads like a community college cooking school graduate little bit of this little bit of that. When I get home I'm going to have fun writing the different components of all the menu items on index cards, shuffle, and see what combinations come up each time. And I love the idea of a General Tso steak sauce and want to try creating one. And using a packet of Ramen seasoning instead of Cajun seasoning sounds like a fun thing to try. I just won't do it on a fifty dollar piece of meat. If you are counting calories you skip the gross doughnut hole dessert. Dense ball of dough. Gummy. Like they used a cake doughnut recipe instead of a yeast doughnut or beignet recipe. But if not counting calories , go for it. It's fun to try the sauces, even if not that great a doughnut. Great, festive, lively ambiance . Super friendly staff and service.

Unfortunately, the bar was painfully slow. Our first round of drinks took about 15 minutes, and the second took closer to 30 minutes after ordering. We eventually had to check in to make sure they were even coming. The food was fine, but not something we'd come back for. The elk pasta lacked the depth and richness you expect from a bolognese. The trout--poblano stuffed and curry-prepared--was an interesting idea, but the curry completely overpowered the fish, making the dish feel unbalanced. We had curry-dusted trout at The Blue Lion earlier in the week that was far better. (One of the best trout meals I've ever had.)

We were surprised on a Saturday afternoon that the place had 3 couples only for lunch. The bar is the center of the restaurant and it is beautifully done. The flavor was good for the French onion soup while temperature was luke warm at best. This soup is usually super hot unless they melted the cheese with a torch. The po-boy sandwich had nice fluffy bread, a flavorless catfish filet but delicious fries. If the remoulade had not been present, it would of been tasteless. I had higher food expectations with the beautiful restaurant design but the food is no where close to matching the bar. A real disappointment. Excellent American restaurant with great food and service (I wouldn't say it's a must-try because…read moreof the great American restaurants around the area). Street parking only, but it was relatively easy to find Food- 5 stars Food was pretty good and well done. We ordered the rabbit rillettes, Dutch Crunch Bread, asparagus soup, and SRG Steak Tartare Pizza for our appetizers. Everything was good but the pizza was a bit on the saltier side. Their breads were delicious though For the entrees, we ordered the prime new York steak, morel mushroom tagliatelle, duck breast, roasted carrots, and braised greens. Nothing really stood out, but everything was delicious For the desserts, we ordered the earl grey semifreddo and charred cinnamon cheesecake which were both pretty good Service- 5 stars Food came out quickly and the servers were really attentive. Bottom Line Excellent American restaurant located in downtown Jackson Hole. Everything was solid and you're likely going to have a great meal, but it does have a lot of competition in the area, so don't fret too much if you're not able to get a reservation

They make you give your credit card to hold your reservation and charge you if you don't show up . That is absurd . It was a waste of our time and money. I don't recommend going here . I wish we went anywhere else .

The bar seating was available and allowed us to watch the kitchen staff hustling. Once seated, we waited for Beste to take our order, about 10 minutes. She was MIA most of the evening. Our evening started with the braised beef bao bun with carrot, kimchi, sesame seeds, kimchi aioli, and pickled onions. The flavor was good but it was grossly over-sauced and extremely messy. The bao bun was delivered broken in half. The lemongrass flavored pork dumplings were accompanied with onions, radishes and fermented black bean chili crisp. The dumplings were boiled and had no crispness from being pan seared which left a doughy taste. Our favorite was the Caeser salad with gem lettuce, tahini Caesar, aged parm and nori dusted rice crisp. A truly crisp bite with little taste crunches from the nori and tasty tahini Caesar. Homerun! Our final dish was the shrimp toast with kimchi aioli, pickled jalapeno, toasted sesame seeds on a milk bread slice. There was no shrimp taste and was told it was a "thin" shrimp mousse spread covered by other ingredients. I would bet there is less than a teaspoon of mousse on 4 pieces of toast. I have several issues with tonight's dining experience. A waitress, Beste was MIA, left empty plates piled up with limited room at the bar, did not change out plates coated with kimchi sauce between services, and a short attitude when we asked about "where is the shrimp". I hope the restaurant can correct these issues or find help that truly cares. Hospitality means pay attention and "Anticipate" the patrons need prior to them realizing it. This also falls on management who needs to guide and set a culture that employees can emulate. SHOW THEM THE LIGHT!
