Definitely a cute, trendy place to get a cup of coffee. I love that they have oat milk!

Their adult grilled cheese is small, but tasty with bacon, arugula, and apple complementing the cheese. Their French press coffee was good, but did have a lot of residue in the bottom of the cup - which might be expected for French press. They are well equipped for individuals who want to plug in with power points at nearly every seat indoors. They could do with a little more sound dampening items in the open area indoors. They had a nice covered outdoors area with one place to plug in. If it rained at an angle you would get wet likely except for at one table. They do not have outdoor cushions. The positioning of the outdoors area does not get a lot of road noise and they do not have the music piped outside which is nice - in case you need an area that is a little bit quieter to take a conference call. They had a small case with baked goods and sell only their own coffee roasts. They do have Nitro brew. read more

I usually get the same thing every time I come here, but it always tastes good. The mocha is my favorite but during the holidays I branch out a bit. I have had the single origin espresso, drip coffee, chai and a pour over. Not all on the same visit. All were very good, but my favorite so far is the pour over. Great coffee and espresso. Servers and staff are friendly, eager to serve and knowledgeable. Entire place is spotlessly clean. Tried the panini sandwiches today. I would give them 3.5 stars. But good while I'm sitting here working using their wifi. I will be back! read more

Be warned -- getting a latte at Trio will make you never want a latte anywhere else ever again. They're that good. I've tried them twice with flavored syrups, and much prefer them without. They also have gluten-free treats that are much better than typical GF fare. The lemon pound cake is my wife's favorite. read more

This was a few weeks ago, so perhaps things have improved. On the off chance they've not, allow me to elaborate. Too many people behind be counter chatting. Had to get someone's attention to take my order (a simple cappuccino. Nothing fancy). It took 15min to come out, and was barely luke-warm. Not sure if they waited to make and forgot about me, or forgot about the drink and hurriedly threw it together, but either way, I was not impressed. I tried their coffee due to the high star rating I saw on Yelp. I would have to say I was not too impressed. The barista was nice, and the presentation was great. But the coffee taste needs a little step-up. Considering the high price, I would expect a coffee flavor to be a bit stronger. I will stick with the Starbuck. read more

It is hard to find an elite brewing coffee spot around Dallas, having said that, Trio has certainly captured that description. The atmosphere is a really great combo of artisan wood, bulb lights, recliners and tables. There are multiple sitting bars. they don't push you out the door which is nice. I believe they serve beans from oak cliff coffee roasters and coava (portland)...both high grade! Coffee aside, atmosphere is 5 stars. A place of rest in my book. :) read more

I have tried Trio several times and I can't say enough good things about this coffee shop. The coffee is some of the best in the area, the baristas are friendly, well trained and extremely knowledgeable and the owners make you feel like you are part of the family. They do a great job of rotating roasters in that are local, as well as featuring leading roasters from around the country. Trio has really raised the quality of the coffee culture in the area. I was very impressed! I've been maybe 5-6 times in the last 2 weeks and I always get the cappuccino and it has yet to let me down. Also, I highly recommend the maple and bacon scone. Usually i hate scones but another user said that the were more like a biscuit and he was right. I love biscuits and this was one of the best biscuits I've ever had!...now if you're a scone snob you may hate it. The only downside is that it's kinda small and there's never a place to sit. I would love to linger and enjoy my coffee before jumping back on the road but i usually just get it to-go. read more

Best caramel macchiato latte ever! Breakfast tacos and salsa were a hit! Blueberry scone was fresh and hit the spot. Espresso shot served with sparkling water along side was unique to us but probably a norm since we don't know much about espresso. Wait staff offered tips on what was good. Overall: some of the best coffee I've ever had in my life. Give it a try you won't be disappointed. I consider myself a coffee connoisseur and search out new coffee spots all the time. I was curious to try a craft coffee shop as there aren't many in DFW. One of the great things about this place is the simplicity of the menu which is the way to do it. Too often coffee shops try to do too much and miss out on the basics of making coffee. Coffee: so far I've had the cappuccino, pour over, and the Mocah. The Mocah is by far my favorite. They use top quality beans and top quality organic chocolate. The most interesting thing they do is tailor the bean to the type of method. Ie the bean used for a French press is different than a bean used for a pour over. This is done to bring the most out of the bean. Atmosphere: it's a craft coffee shop it's what you would expect. My favorite coffee shop. The drinks taste excellent, and the baked desserts are amazing. It's a great place to hang out/study but it can get quite loud at some points in the afternoon; however, it's never took away from the experience and I can still study. Nice interior, comfortable homelike ambience, kind staff. Fave drinks: good old iced coffee (super rich taste and keeps me awake),chai tea latte (great when you feel under the weather, cinnamon galore), and Good Morning Vietnam (Vietnamese coffee, so good). I frequently visited the old location because I like to support independent coffee shops but no longer. In all honesty the high reviews are really overrated, especially because the customer service can be a big hit or miss. For the over priced coffee, the lack of accommodating space, and terrible hours I don't see why the owner thinks his stores such a gift to the Flower Mound community when in reality, he has business only because there is a lack of competition in the area. The coffee also tends be on the burnt side and leaves the mouth dry, which I have never experienced in other coffee shops (This is coming from an avid coffee drinker). Overall, if you just want a place to spend time or have decent coffee, it would be more beneficial to drive a little longer and go to the Starbucks, Edison Coffee, etc. where you know the space will be bigger, customer service more friendly, and the coffee less burnt. read more

I'm a HUGE fan of supporting local business. Coffee is a pleasure for me beyond the caffeine kick. I've been into Trio several times, spoken with the owners, and enjoyed plenty of their crafts. I would have nothing but goodness to speak of, BUT my last experience in Trio was certainly my last. I'm a full time student, and a full time nanny. So when I find time to study I usually do so at a location like a coffee house. Although there is a Starbucks on every corner, local coffee shops deserve more attention. A few months back I took my laptop and notebook into Trio, had a seat at the bar and did the usually, study. After an hour or so of being there, the crowd clear out, I continued to keep my nose in my book, and soon was approached by an employee. He asked if I intended to get something to drink, and I said "no thank you, I'm fine". He proceeded to tell me "our policy is that you have to buy a drink if your going to stay here". As shocked (and pissed) as I was that I was being told to leave, I pulled out my wallet and purchased an $3.00 iced coffee. Once they crafted my drink, I didn't bother to pick it up from the counter, hoping my irritation was obvious. The most uncomfortable part of this last experience, was the fact that I am a supportive customer, choosing your local shop, bringing you business, and building a bond with your coffee house. And you have basically asked me to join the Starbucks crowd. Thank you Trio, for your unpleasant policies that have guided me back to your monstrous competitor. read more
