The barbers are very skilled, especially my hair designer Mint. He knows how to cut Asian hairstyles without making it look weird or out of place. He has cut both long and short styles for me and they all look very nice. Sometimes you might have to wait awhile but to me it's very much worth it. Making an appointment ahead would be very helpful. The guy who called himself 'Little V' has been heavily promoting himself on Xiaohongshu. I was drawn in by the hair photos he posted and decided to make an appointment with him. I explained what I wanted for my hair, and he assured me he had done similar styles many times before. However, it turned out he had to perm my hair multiple times to achieve the curls, and eventually, he admitted he had never done a perm like mine before. The result was a disaster. Not only did I not get the hairstyle I wanted, but my hair was also severely damaged. Later, I discovered that he had been using photos from other stylists, misleading people into thinking the work was his. I can no longer trust him or this salon. read more

It seems they've used photos of stylish haircuts from elsewhere in their promotional posts, leading you to believe you'll achieve similar results. Believe me, you most likely won't. The service quality and service attitude was a disaster. "Get a wig on if you are not satisfied with my work...... " They are poorly experienced and don't even know the basic manner. Personally I would not recommend anyone to come here for haircut, unless you insist to cut your hair in a smoky environment with cigarette ends all over the place. read more

I've been with Chris since 2009.... yeah talk about following him to every salon he has worked at (now owns) Yay! Congrats!! Anyways, back to the salon review. Decor: Super nice decor, they just opened about two weeks ago. White walls, black chairs- a feeling of an high-end hair salon in the middle of freaking Chinatown!! There are lightbulbs that hang from a wooden beam plus a wooden staircase ... just had a nice feel. :) I'm sure the decor is still in it's infancy stage as they just opened two weeks ago. There is only one hair washing station but sufficient because they are super efficient. Parking: there's street parking (don't even bother). There's a parking garage called Portsmouth Square. Go there ! :) Service: Efficient, HOWEVER, with that being said it is still an Asian hair salon. This means that they will take multiple clients at a time. Example: one customer will sit there while the color sets in and the hair stylist will move onto another customer's haircut... etc. If you are use to only you being the center of attention for the entire duration of your hair care then this is NOT the place for you... The hair assistant is sub par but... again standard for the Asian hair salon. read more

I have been coming to Mr. Mien, the owner of the salon for the last 3 years. I saw a girl who had a great haircut and asked her where she had it done and she pointed me to Mr. Mien. I have been with him ever since. They just moved to Fremont and I am following him wherever he sets up shop. I have had very expensive haircuts at over $200 before and they pale to his. If you want the best haircut and the most creative coloring, he is the guy. Good haircuts are most difficult to find and he's technique is excellent. His layering is precise and aesthetically, he gets it. I get compliments on my hair all the time. If you have thick Asian hair, he will make you beautiful. My daughter who has Caucasian thick curly hair had hers cut by another stylist at trio cut and she was happy as well. read more

Terrible service, will not recommend to any one, the phone line is not available at all for reservations, however when I come to the store it's is open .I come and ask why, they did not even directly answer me until I asked twice. And then they said, they work for their the shop owner and it is not their responsibility to take care of this. They seems to very inpatient and said and even ask why I did not tell them which specific barber I want for my hair cut. I don't think customer are responsible for remembering the barbers name, The shop is dirty as you can see in the photo the hair in the corner of the table has not been cleaned for a long time. Don't go there! Mint was my hair stylist but he never listened to the client. He has his own way for the hair style even it is not the customer want! I specifically told him that I did NOT want to have side being too short and only leave the top very long and that was exactly what he had given me. I had Daniel give me a haircut recently and he did a satisfactory job. I generally am very picky about how people cut my hair and honestly , I would say that I am not an easy customer because I want my hair cut a specific way. Daniel did a great job listening to what I wanted done and executing it perfectly. His attention to detail and his consistent and professionalism shone through. This I feel is a reflection of the establishment as well and I would highly recommend coming here to get your haircut. Their prices are also very reasonable considering the time and attention they give to each haircut. This place is so modern and sleek. The staff are also friendly and professional. Can't beat a place with great ambiance and good prices! It's my husband and my first time coming to this new location and we got lucky with Andyson. He cut both our hairs and was very attentive to what we both wanted and made sure to ask for our opinion throughout the cut which was very much appreciated. He was very skilled and didn't rush even though there were many customers waiting. My haircut turned out better than I had thought it would! Most of all, I'm SO impressed with Andyson's blowout skills (I have very fine, thin hair) and I've had many many good and bad experiences in the past. I got my hair permed straight and colored. Loved the color and the settlers who did my hair was really good. I'm most likely to go back again even though it's a bit far. The price is definitely a little high but totally worth it for the price and how it comes out to look. I was afraid to dye it red because I might have to bleach my hair but I didn't have to get my hair bleached which was awesome. btw the stylist is named Jerry. This is the worst salon of all that I have ever been to. Wanted a wave perm and he gave me a total different perm that looks so bad. I paid $ 260 for the bad perm and the next day I have to pay $50 more for someone else to cut it because I couldn't bare with myself looking so terrible. read more

They will always recommend you to do the most expensive service with so called professional recommendations, and they won't tell you the details, neither price details or technical details. Last time when I went there, the owner said I should dye my hair in dark green, I thought it was regular dying, but then he bleached my hair without telling me. I realized that after they had already done half bleaching my hair. It does lots of harm to my hair, and they are in very bad condition now! Not to mention bleaching hair at their place is very expensive, and he won't tell you the price before they literally did something on your hair. I will never come back again! read more

They ask which color you prefer for the hair , and I said purple ,they told me let them do some special decide on it and came out with no purple at all and it's dark brown and super light yellow highlights on it . First time came here based on a friend recommendation. Hugo cut my hair. You have to wait for your turn. I have no appointment, just walked in after work. Hugo was cutting a woman hair then 2 guys in front of me. Despite of language barrier, Hugo understood what I wanted. He speaks a little English. The place is hip in the middle of Chinatown. I have a long hair, Hugo took his time to cut it and make sure it is perfect. The price is higher than other places in Chinatown but totally worth it. Horrible place and Horrible so-called hair stylist Mint!!! I had super long hairs and I asked for volumes but he thinned out my hairs into thousands of little pieces which he called layers. He did this with his ridiculous confidence and argued that "layers"could make my hairs look more...Well!the result is a big NO NO!!! I went home and washed my hair hope it would look better, but still NO NO! Now my hair looks super frizzy and point to different directions. The highest layer even reached the top of my ears! See how much hair he thinned out!! He is so not professional but he thinks he is the best one...I have no ideas where he get these weird confidence from! Ok I really need to spend another 50 bucks to let others fix my poor hair because I couldn't bare with myself looking sooooo ugly! Girls! please avoid this place! Avoid Mint!
