Worst experience at a gunshop I've ever had the sales associate did not know what target loads are and he gave me the wrong brand as I wanted Winchester heavy loads not estate and there was no milspec 00 buckshot. Also I asked to look at handguns for a new shooter and when I was looking at it he told me nothing and when I said I was 20 he just snatched it and said you can't look at it. Wtf rude and that's a great way for me not to come buy any firearm from these guys. I've been to a few outfits similar to Triple A's and have received nothing close to what they have offered from the minute of walking through their doors. This was my first online purchase, postal service lost track of my gun for 8 days, when I notified TripleA that the tracking scans had stopped 6 days earlier, they were like a bulldog, on it immediately and fiercely. I have bought a number of guns from Triple A's Sporting Goods, and while their prices are a little high, most of their staff is friendly and knowledgeable and I drive a long ways out of my way to deal with them. However, they one member of their staff who is arrogant and treats loyal customers like they are really stupid and helping them is a real burden. Everybody has a bad day and deserves a pass occasionally, but this has happened three different times and it is enough to make me take my business elsewhere. read more

I might have given a 2 if it weren't for the fact that gun store staff tend not to be the friendliest so on this I had to grave on the curve... Positives: Tons of selection, decent prices, diverse and knowledgeable staff to meet your needs... Cons: Ok... I bought my first rifle from the store, probably could have gotten for $200 less from them (definitely could have gotten somewhere else for at least $200 - $300 less) but wasn't worried as I have heard you get better prices the more you buy and have / had planned on buying more guns from this shop. I then picked up a cleaning kit and came to found out that I needed more items (patches, an actual bore brush, etc) when I arrived home but the staff did not feel the need to mention this even though I just recently put down around $2000 on the rifle, ammo, and accessories... I appreciate that the gentlemen didn't try to up-sell me on anything but he could have at least let me know that I would need other items or suggested a more practical kit... On another occasion I inquired about a certain type of accessory, upon this conversation I was suggested to get such and such accessory instead. I have went back twice to inquire about the recommended product and on the first occasion was told to come back another time, the second time I went I was told they don't have it and was made to feel like I was being demanding... On this same visit I was also contemplating purchasing a gsg-5 and when I inquired about it I was talking with the staff member. In the middle of one of my questions that my purchase was dependent upon the staff member all of a sudden acted like I wasn't there, started talking to another customer and never returned to finish answering my question. Needless to say I left without the item I was recommended by a staff member and without purchasing the gsg-5. I don't expect gun store staff to have the same customer service level as say a 5 star hotel banquet / catering department but I am now on the edge with this treatment. The owner whose name is Aris (sp?) seems to be the nicest guy there who will more often than not take his time to meet your needs, but every once in a while he seems to be on a man period... The area isn't the greatest but if you grew up in Vallejo or anything like it you will not be worried and feel right at home... Bottom line, for me this place (right now) is kind of like the Soup Nazi establishment on Seinfeld, there's simply nothing better read more

Literally the absolute worst gun shop I have ever been into. I came in to do a private party transfer per the other party's request since it was close to him and he was a single father who works 60 hours a week (I love an hour away), and as I patiently waited for someone to help me, I witnessed a first time AR builder buying parts for his rifle and one of the employees actually gave him good advice on which parts to buy. I thought to myself, "wow, that's actually good customer service!" But then when it was finally my turn things started to go south extremely quickly. After I told the employee that I was there for a private party transfer he explained to me that their backroom was full and that all PPT guns had to sit on the shelf with their other guns. I said that's fine as it didn't really matter to me. As we started the paperwork, the employee asked if we had cash for this as they do not take credit card on private party transfers. I unfortunately did not at the time and had to run to the ATM after they refused to take card even if I agreed to buy something while at the store. Still not really a big deal (the employee explained that was their new policy as they've had someone file a chargeback on the transfer - though after this experience I probably see why) So once we continue the paperwork, the employee states that my rifle with a bullet button needed a fixed 10 round mag inside it otherwise it is an assault weapon because someone could make it into one. I calmly disagreed and said he is wrong and that it is simply an incomplete firearm. I said however, that is still ok and I'd be happy to buy a ten round magazine from them as t is "their shop and their rules". The employee looked at me and said "you know, you can go somewhere else and do this, we're actually doing you guys a favor by doing this" I calmly explained that they are actually required by law to do transfers but that's ok and we don't need to insult one another. The employee looked at me and said, "let me go check to see if we can still do this transaction" he walked to the back and came it, handed me my paperwork and said that they were unable to do this transaction. I asked if he was sure as they were required. Y law to do it and if they didn't I would call the ATF and file a complaint. The employee went back one more time and came out and asked me to exit the premises while having his hand over his sidearm. I said "no problem" and as I was walking out the employee told the person I was transferring the firearm to, "sorry, but your buddy doesn't know when to shut his mouth." I went to another gun shop about 5 miles away, and they were courteous and friendly, and when I told them the story, they also said I should file a complaint with the DOJ and ATF, they also said I didn't need a 10 round magazine. I was so pleased at the next shop I ended up buying something I didn't need just to support a great store. If you are tired of gun shop employee attitude, I would stay as far away from this place as possible as they believe they are doing the customer a favor by performing transfers. When I first moved to Vallejo I had little hope of finding any firearms and accessories dealer of the caliber of a AAA. After finding the address online and doing a drive by I was not initially at all impressed. Standing outside the door for the first time I can say my thoughts were also not positive. ALL OF My NEGATIVITY CHANGED MMEDIATELY ONCE inside the store and being quickly greeted and assisted by any one of the polite, friendly and human acting people who work there. I had become very sadly accustomed to the miserable and teeth grinding anger of trying to buy from Canyon so this made finding AAA all that much more satisfying. I would and will gladly travel once I do move as you stick with a store that treats you this well. And not one of them has made a nasty about my asking the same type naïve questions most all semi-novices do when they are starting out in the sport. Now I am forced to hop in the auto with the woof and make a trip to purchase a Savage Model 94. I love 22's and with the price of all ammo along with scarcity I am having a lot of fun with the two 22 pistols I have and this will round out the 22's, Any suggestions please feel free.BUT FIRST make that trip to AAA. read more

I came here to do a PPT (Private Party Transfer) - many gun shops grumble or make it difficult to do a PPT because they don't make any money (even though it's a requirement for their Federal Firearms License) but the man who helped us with the transfer was friendly and able to help us right when we walked in even though the store was pretty busy. read more

You either sell your products at retail... Below retail.... Or above retail (which is a great way to go out of business). My notes were direct and to the point like my questions. If you knew I was traveling 80 miles don't you think in the theme of customer service your policy should be to let the client know what to expect as a price? This used to be my first place i would stop by whenever i wanted to purchase a firearm but recently the experience i had was very unwelcoming and feel like they didn't want my business at all. I walk up to the store and before i could even ring the doorbell one of the employees comes out the door but opening it up barely enough to let himself slip through and shut the door behind him like he didnt want us to go inside almost as if he was blocking the door with his body. He asks "What are you looking for? I reply that i was searching for a fin grip for an ar and he said he doesnt have any and proceeded to ask what else i wanted as if i was wasting the mans time and he had something else better to do. I was actually wanting to purchase a firearm that day and wanted to see what they had but the overall attitude i was getting from the employee just made me turn around and go to another shop. This is a great spot to purchase and learn about guns. The staff are very friendly for a gun store and they are all pretty knowledgable about what they are selling. This is a plus for anyone in sales...know your product. They are also great at asking you questions to help determine what you are looking for if you're not absolutely sure. I went in there acting like I didn't know anything about guns and I literally asked a million questions because I wanted to gauge their customer service. The guy NEVER got tired of talking about my questions and he NEVER tried to sell me a gun. I'm a first time gun buyer and this was the 3rd store I stopped at intent on buying a Glock 17. At the first two stores, I encountered what I expected of a gun shop: impatience and rude attitudes. My 3rd and final stop was at Triple A's. At the first two shops, I was ignored until I sought help. When I was (begrudgingly) helped I felt awkward and shy about asking questions about the gun. I served in the military and handled more than 1 m9 but at the first shop, the guy was trying to convince me to buy the m9 even though I didn't want an m9 and made that very clear... I'm not interested in a weapon that is so easy to engage the safety while racking, that soldiers often inadvertently engage the safety while clearing jams and don't realize it until they take the time to reacquire and squeeze the trigger... don't get me started Anyway, this shop ruined it for any gun shop I visit in the future because I was greeted when I walked in the door, the employees were all smiles, joking around, yet maintaining a safe and professional environment when it came down to brass tacks. The employees were so intent on making sure that I was being helped that 3 different employees asked me if somebody was helping me while I was waiting for my salesman to process my DROS paperwork. Everything was explained clearly, the salesman offered to demonstrate field stripping the gun even though I didn't ask, offered to show me other models, didn't try to sell me on a different gun (though he did offer to sell me a rifle in addition to the handgun lol). He didn't try to convince me to buy any unnecessary accessories or modifications, and he even shook my hand when the sale was completed like people used to do in the good old days... I will definitely make this my default shop for future purchases... oh and like many have said... the eye candy on display is absolutely gorgeous read more

If I could give them less than 1star I would! These so called men are very rude & disrespectful. As a first time gun buyer, i brought a friend to help me choose a gun. The big guy, Hermon, acted as if he was a bouncer at a club, not a professional salesman at a gun store. I had an appointment and at first, they gave me a difficult time about bringing him with me. So, I was willing to walk away, but they allowed me to bring my friend in with me. The whole time they seem to have a lot of ego and more concerned with my other friend waiting outside, then educating me on their weapons. They also told my friend that they were not selling ammo today, when he asked to purchase some. This is my first time in any gun store and I was very uncomfortable around the men working in this establishment, too busy trying to flex their egos. It was very unprofessional, the way they talked to my friend and dismissed my concerns. I just didn't feel safe with these men. The only good thing is that they had what I needed. Triple A Sporting Goods needs to teach Hermon how to treat ALL potential customers or they may start losing a lot of business. Customers are there to potentially spend their hard earned money at your store, don't treat them like they are beneath you! Hermon needs to learn respect and customer service skills. read more

As someone who was tripped up from buying anything due to a clerical error up in Sacramento made by a nameless burecrat that had my entire house ransacked and me in the jail system over a paper work goof a 1970s misdemeanor turned overnight into a felony 30 years later, Aris was just excellent in helping me get some paperwork sorted out. This place is the best place to purchase a firearms or gun supplies. All the seasoned employees are more than knowledgeable but better yet, they all are willing to assist you and answer any question you have. Other gun stores (place in Martinez, Pleasant Hill, and Vacaville), are rude, impatient, and only seem to help people they know. Not here. Triple A is the complete opposite. Their prices are better than any of the neighboring dealers and they are very responsible. More than anything, their selection and inventory is very impressive. If you are in a time crunch, here is a summary: Triple A provides a fantastically comfortable and friendly buying/browsing experience; their inventory is extensive. My experience: When I was 21 years old, I decided to purchase my first handgun; additionally, I did not come from a gun-culture family and didn't have the benefit of having previously gleaned proper gun shopping etiquette. Regardless, I knew to act respectful, respectable, and calm. Furthermore, as an engineering student, I wanted to handle a bunch of pistols before I purchased one; I wanted to feel how they worked and explore the mechanical brilliance (or lack there of) of each weapon that caught my eye. I quickly found that some shops had staff that were so off-putting, passively hostile, and negligent to my business and self-admittedly novice status that they would simple stop paying attention to me at their respective counters. One shop in the east bay gave up on me after asking to hold my second weapon in 15 minutes; this same shop then told me that the SA 1911 Operator that I wanted was, "an ugly piece of shit," adding that they subsequently don't carry it. Another shop literally zip tied every action shut on their semi-autos and only had 30 guns behind the counter; this was equally disheartening for different reasons. Enter Triple A: I was referred by a friend to this little shop in Vallejo, where the service was purportedly better. At this point, I'd love to take you step by step through how friendly, attentive, un-pushy, and helpful the staff was that first day, but you can infer it for yourself. The salesman didn't even care when I wanted to take a week to make my decision before purchasing, after letting me hold 20 guns. Indeed, one week later I returned and purchased my first firearm, an H&K USP .45 Compact. That was the moment when I fell in love with a gun shop. I have been a shooter and firearms enthusiast for many years now; Triple A has moved several times...and so have I. Their staff has grown and changed, their inventory has gone from impressive to massive, and their customer service is still the best I've encountered.
