Upon arrival, the hostess wished me "happy birthday," but that was the only mention of it for the remainder of my visit. The menu includes raw bar items, hot shellfish appetizers, salads, bowls and wraps. However, their main feature is the "Naked Fish." This allows you to choose the type of fish, its preparation, and an accompanying sauce. I chose the branzino, grilled, and with salsa verde. The presentation was absolutely beautiful! The sear on the fish skin was perfectly crisp, the julienned vegetables were well-seasoned, and the sauce had a nice spiciness. Paired with a crisp white wine, it was a delicious dinner! The service was "adequate." The staff who brought bread and my meal to the table were friendlier and more attentive than my server. Perhaps she had too many tables to attend to, but she never asked me how my meal was, and only inquired if I wanted another glass of wine when I was ready for the check. Overall, I was very happy with my meal. However, I expected a little more attentiveness from my server, and perhaps an offer of something special for my birthday.

Finding the entrance was a little confusing at first, and parking took a minute to figure out, but I eventually learned you can park for free at the Village next door, which made things much easier. Once I arrived, I was immediately greeted and shown to the outdoor seating area. Walking through the restaurant, I was impressed by how beautiful the property is. It is incredibly spacious, sits right on the water, and even has an additional outdoor area next door where you can relax away from the restaurant. The views alone make this place worth visiting. Our server, Freddy, was fantastic. He was friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain the menu, answer questions, and offer recommendations, which made the experience even better. Now onto the food. To start, we shared the Breakfast Pizza, topped with smoked bacon, crispy potatoes, roasted garlic, mozzarella, two eggs, and fresh cracked black pepper. It was a fun twist on brunch and had great flavor. We also ordered the Shrimp and Grits, made with cheddar grits, wild caught shrimp, a poached egg, and chimichurri. Rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. The Crispy Chicken Sandwich looked outstanding. Made with organic Murray's chicken, hot honey, coleslaw, and dill pickles, it came with fries and disappeared quickly. For my entrée, I ordered the Steak and Eggs, featuring grilled hanger steak, two eggs, breakfast potatoes, and chimichurri. The steak had excellent flavor, although I ordered it medium and it came out closer to well done. It was my only real issue with the meal. We also tried a couple of cocktails. The Orange Crush was refreshing and perfect for brunch, while the bourbon, Aperol, peach, Earl Grey, and lemon cocktail was smooth, balanced, and equally enjoyable. Dessert was the perfect ending. The Take 5 Sundae with peanut butter crunch, pretzels, whipped cream, vanilla bean caramel, chocolate ice cream, and hot fudge was absolutely delicious. We also had the Tres Leches, topped with strawberries and vanilla whipped cream, which was light, moist, and a great way to finish the meal. Overall, everything we ordered was delicious. Aside from the slightly confusing entrance, parking, and my overcooked steak, the entire experience was outstanding. The waterfront setting, excellent service, beautiful atmosphere, and quality food make this one of the best brunch spots in Stamford. I will definitely be back. Next time I already have my eye on the Banana Buttermilk Bread, Village Breakfast, Braised Short Rib Hash, Wheel House Burger, Margherita Pizza, Smoked Salmon Pizza, and the Crispy Chicken Sandwich for myself. It didn't seem too busy that evening, so we were a bit surprised. We stayed in the dining room on this trip, but hope to come back for a nice evening when the outside patio area is available.

They're always supportive of the community, as a whole restaurant, happy to collaborate with efforts of the different communities of the city. Alexis is such a lovely server and we were so grateful to have her join us during our last visit. She surprised me with a scoop of ice cream for my birthday! None of us said anything, she just overheard someone discretely say "happy birthday". If you're visiting in the summer, go for the Lobster Roll (Connecticut style is cooked with butter). A good portion, at a fair price! The Guinness is always a great pour. Meatball hoagie, another choice that won't disappoint. I would have gladly answered the two ADA-approved questions, but no one even bothered to ask. My dog gave two small barks after the staff became rude and confrontational. To this, the waiter said he was "not acting like a service animal". This was a really sad experience for me. I hope management receives proper training so that no one else with a disability is treated this way.

I couldn't finish my dish, and had to get pizza afterwards because of how disappointing it was. My friends dish was better, but he likened it to something you could get at a mom and pop diner for a fraction of the price. I didn't want to complain or send it back especially because the waitstaff are just really doing their best. So we paid, tipped, thanked them, left, and will not be returning. I hate to be a complete snob - but if a restaurant is going to put in this much effort to aura farm a certain aesthetic, the food should at least compare. Ok, a little late, but I just wanted a hamburger. More than half of the tables were filled. All of the seats at the counter were filled. People were eating. All good signs. The waiter said, "We're closed," and immediately turned his back to me. Not "Sorry, we're closed." Just "We're closed," and I got his back. I looked around the room at all the people eating and said to one of the other waitstaff, "You're closed?" She looked embarrassed and said, "Well, the kitchen is closed...." She seemed to understand that her colleague's behavior was inappropriate in a retail eating establishment. He shouldn't leave this job to be a greeter at Walmart. He would be bad at that. I nodded and walked out. I'm having Japanese food across the street. I really didn't want Japanese food for dinner, but the food is always good at Hama and the hospitality is always superior.
