This place caught my eye as I walked by: Tibetan/Indian/Chinese mixed menu. Do they have Tibetan mamosas on menu? Yes!!! I'm in!!! I love mamosas and still look for ones to rival the ones i used to get at a little place in Madison Wisconsin in the 80's. Ordered a plate of vege ones (8 pieces for $11) and one of the Indian vegetarian dishes of paneer cheese & peas in tomato sauce. The mamosas were fab!!! Right below those ones from Madison so long ago! Melt in your mouth perfection, wonderful taste and traditional tomato cream dipping sauce to top with. The main dish was excellent too and came with white basmati rice light & fluffy. Will have to try others Simple decor & about 8 tables. Tibetan music on. Relaxing. The service was super friendly. This was a cute lil find for us around union square and will be our go-to for food in this area! The food is delicious, authentic, healthy and oh so fresh. We got the momos and chowmein- both were yummy and some of the best we've had. Chowmein especially was better than what I can find in India - they added extra veggies for us at no cost. It was clear they were made with fresh ingredients and from scratch. The owners and staff are very friendly and accommodating. First things first - yes I recommend. Now for the colour commentary: I literally just picked up food from this place about 40min ago, went back to my office, and proceeded to have my lunch. I ordered [1] chicken momos; [2] vegetable momos; [3] lamb biryani. I was going to eat some and save the rest for dinner with my fiancee. I have walked by this place several times as my office is nearby - never tried. Decided yesterday during a walk by to give it a chance. Glad I did. Chicken momos had soft but pliable skins and a nice portion of chicken. Vegetable momos were likewise soft with pliable skin with a decent helping of a seasoned vegetable mix. The lamb biryani was a pop of colour immediately on opening, followed by a pleasing sweet and spiced aroma. Flavour was very much to my liking - slightly spicy, lamb meat tender, and rice-flavours strong but not overpowering, with a touch of sweet. The server who brought my food handed me three samosa which I did not order. He wanted me to try them and thanked me for choosing this restaurant for my lunch. Friendly. If you are in San Francisco, the food here is a must have! This was my first time dining in at this restaurant and everything about this place was phenomenal. The quality of the food was definitely a 10 out of 10. Our food came out hot and was nothing but flavorful! I ordered the Samosa Chaat, Butter Chicken with Garlic Naan, Rice, and a Mango Lassi. The owner there was the sweetest! He gave us free Chai and Gulab Jamun, which both tasted very good. He made sure that we were well taken care of and was very attentive to our requests. My 3rd time and unfortunately each time I enjoyed less. I always have had their reasonable during the week lunch special. Today the usual terrific curry chicken sauce was still good but lighter. I came in with a large party after the large Chinese anew Years celebration. The place was totally packed and it was clear that the staff was completely overwhelmed, but they tried their absolute best to attend to all the customers. Everyone at our table was extremely satisfied with the food we ordered. This included butter chicken, goat curry , chicken momos, garlic naan, and chow mein. Everything about Trisara was great! The food was stellar! I usually avoid Indian restaurants because the food often doesn't agree with me. This place was a definite exception. My friends had the chicken/vegi tika masala, and I had the chicken vindaloo (extra spicy). The food was well prepared, and tasted amazing. The server was super attentive and friendly, and checked in several times to make sure everything was ok (It took a couple of cold beers to navigate the heat of the vindaloo). They have a lunch special, and are open for dinner as well: an anomaly for the area. The interior and ambiance were inviting and chill. They also have Chinese dishes on the menu, and I look forward to trying them as well. Since this is in my neighborhood, I will definitely be going back. read more
