All the food was so good and probably the best naan I've had in SF. The food and service was top notch and would definitely visit again. Looks like it is mom and pop run, and the food served in plastic containers / utensils. Better quality in the Tenderloin; virtually anywhere. Chicken momos were fine, nothing special, naan tough and without proper salt in the dough, so also flavorless. Can't believe this place gets 80 5 star reviews. While the staff at the counter are nice I was Hopeful to find something close to home, but I'll be going back to the tenderloin for Indian food. read more

Trisara has great customer service and delicious food. Come here for really well seasoned Indian food. I am dead on the inside, so it takes a good amount of seasoning to make me feel anything. Their Lamb Vindaloo (level 4) made me so happy. It was absolutely delicious, tender chunks of lamb seasoned to perfection in the riches spicy vibdaloo sauce! I paired this with Buttered Nann and samosas. It was one of the best meals I have had on Kearny! It is priced for the area, however you ar getting really good quality food and great flavors! Do recommend as a sit down mean, but if you are an absolute hermit goblin, their to-go containers are sturdy and portions are still really good. Buen provecho! You walk into an unassuming and very clean dining area and the fragrance tells you that this is going to be good. I ordered vegetable pakoras to start and they were hot and crispy with mint sauce. Very nice. Although mango was the only lassi on the menu, they were very happy to make me a salted one. I had the aloo cauli entree and decided on medium plus. It had quite a bite, so choose your level wisely. There could have been a bit more potato and cauliflower but the generous portion of basmati rice filled me up and cooled it down. The star of the show was my butter naan. It is the best naan I have ever eaten. I bought two more orders to take home! The bathroom is roomy and clean. The proprietors are very warm and friendly. The place is on two levels and there was a large party upstairs so service was a little slow, but super warm and friendly. We ordered butter naan and veggie momos for the table and they were tasty. I had goat curry out of curiosity and it was yummy - a good enough portion after appetizers that I could take home leftovers. I asked for medium spicy and it was just right, for me, anyway. Went here on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch and the food was really good and the service was even better. The owner/server did everything. He explained to us the 5 different levels of spiciness so we went with level 3 which was medium. The food ended up not being spicy at all so he brought us hot sauce on the side and even offered to take the food back to make it more spicy. We didn't want to be a bother and just kept the hot sauce on the side to mix in with our dishes and it was the perfect spiciness. We ordered butter chicken, salmon tikka masala, spinach paneer, vegetable korma, chicken momo and papadum, garlic and butter naan. All the dishes were delicious but garlic naan was definitely a favorite of ours. We needed to pack up quite a bit of food and the owner was so nice even bought us foil for the naan. I was visiting from Los Angeles and looking for someplace local. This was a wonderful experience in every category - it was cozy and the staff were friendly, and all the food was delicious. We tried the goat curry, the salmon tikka masala, and the masala tea and all of them were super flavorful and extremely well balanced. The flavors here were excellent and I would recommend it if you don't have nut allergies. However, as someone with allergies, I had a bad reaction here despite clarifying with the waiter beforehand that our dishes did not contain nuts. After taking a few bites of the lamb korma and momos, I started to feel an allergic reaction coming on. My friend let the waiter know that I was having an allergic reaction and asked once again if any of our dishes contained nuts. The waiter stated again that there were no nuts. I'm upset that they chose not to acknowledge that I was having a reaction. In the future, I hope that the team at Trisara can be more conscientious about warning customers with allergies that contamination likely occurs, and/or implement better policies in the kitchen to separate allergens including peanuts and tree nuts. For reference, I do not have a severe nut allergy and I am usually fine even if the restaurant prepares dishes containing nuts, so long as I don't order it. read more

The Rasmalai stole the show so it is a must order for dessert. This place is one of the best restaurants along the Kearny Street corridor. And they do take out. I don't think the office workers in the area realize what a great Nepalese restaurant this is.
