I asked for balayage and this is what I got. No blending of any kind. I basically got cheap highlights. You talk to Phuong, but his other assistant does all the bleaching and then he does the color. I am not sure if there was any communication between him and his assistant about what I wanted. Very poor job. On top of that they use very poor quality things and color seeped through my shirt and ruined my shirt. The towel they wrapped my neck with looked like a rag with a bunch of holes. When I went to my appointment, the shop's owner, Phuong, cut my hair. About 30 minutes after, the police showed up. I went in for a cut, wash, and blowout with curls, but the entire experience was extremely disappointing. Phuong rushed through the appointment and was very rough, yanking my hair throughout. While blow-drying, he wasn't paying attention and burned my scalp, and despite me asking him to be gentler, he repeatedly brushed against my face. During the haircut, he initially showed me that he would only trim about half an inch, which I agreed to, but then proceeded to cut off about an inch and a half. By the end, I told my friend how dissatisfied I was with the service. When she brought this up to him, he became aggressive. As I went to pay, he smacked me and started yelling, insisting I was lying and that he was highly experienced. read more

The experience was very rushed and Phuong was answering phone calls during my cut. The cut was 10 mins max. I'm not sure if he was rushing because he had another client after me ( my appointment time was at 5PM and the next client was at 5:15PM). The rushed feeling wouldn't be a problem for me if I didn't get a haircut that was different than what I asked for. I showed Phuong a couple of pictures for reference. I stated that I didn't want something very short and just wanted the sides tapered down to something similar shown in the pics and for the neckline to be tapered down to the skin. What I ended up getting was good on the top but with bad taper on the sides and a very visible hard line. I came here because of the good reviews and because my current barber was booked but would most likely not come again. When walking in TRND Salon you are greeted and asked if you have an appointment. I recommend an appointment beforehand when I entered there was 3 people. Waiting and I was able to be helped first because of the appointment. When I got there the street was empty and parking was readily available. My barber was Jose he did an awesome job he was efficient and finished in about 40 minutes. I highly recommend them. In total the haircut was $35 without tip. read more

Great haircuts, great service, good honest people! You have to appreciate barbers for having patience with children. My oldest son is hypersensitive and NEVER sits still for haircuts. Despite the struggle, the guys were very calm and attentive. My second son also could not sit still the whole haircut, but he did pretty well and was able to follow along with the barber. He did a great job fixing his hair... saved us from a botched haircut! Both boys left loving their haircuts. They could not stop smiling when they looked in the mirror and volunteered to take photos. When I moved to San Jose I was looking for a great haircut which as we can all appreciate how hard it can be to find. One day while I was out for a run I passed TRND and decided to give them a try. After my run I headed over to TRND and got my haircut by Phuong. Phuong does an amazing job of cutting hair and I have been back ever since. From the moment I walk in, Phuong and the rest of the staff at TRND make me feel welcome. He always remembers how I like I hair my cut and the only thing I have to say if I was to go short or keep a bit of length. Other than that he knows how I like my sides faded and my hair styled!
