Before you can even get to the food, John, our server already set the mood for the evening. He was knowledgeable, gave great recommendations and made the perfect level of small talk to make the evening fun. On to the food - we had to try the bruschetta and my teenager wasn't going to let us leave without trying the meatballs. Both were exceptional. I had the eggplant parmigiana, my husband had the chicken marsala and our son, pepperoni pizza. Everything came out over time, not rushed as John carefully planned out when each ticket item should hit our table. The flavors and temperature of each dish were spot on. It was busy, but at a great pace where you felt like you could take your time. We will definitely be back and highly recommend you give it a try - and ask for John while you are at it. So the restaurant has been open several weeks now and I have purposefully not gone to allow to work out any brand new kinks. I also recognize that it can take a few months for a restaurant to create a groove and fix the petty things. When I entered the restaurant, there was a lady standing there and a couple entered right before me. The single lady told them to go ahead as she was waiting for someone. There was not truly a hostess stand or sign to wait yo be seated so I think the couple was perplexed as to what to do. Over comes a young man that I first thought maybe was a bus person. He then looked confused as to where to seat the couple even though there were several empty tables. Then it was might turn and as all restaurants do when I say for one, they try to direct me to sit at the bar. I kindly said no thank you, I prefer a table so away we went. The restaurant was not overly busy, there were about three people at the bar, a large table of eight and a couple other tables with patrons. I finally was greeted by a very kind gentleman and by then I knew I wanted a glass of Pinot Grigio and a glass of water with lemon. After several minutes of adequate timing, he brings me the wine but no water. I kindly remind him of the water and he saydbgecwill be right back and brings me the water. Again, I can sense "new server". It was time to order so being a sever many times before and restaurant management, I told him I would like toasted ravioli and specifically indicated to him that I wanted to make sure they come out before my dinner as they are listed as an appetizer and were ordered as such. I then ordered my dinner of chicken piccata. That dish is my rating for a good Italian restaurant. All seemed well and off he went. After a few minutes, he brings me the salad and garlic knots. I remind him about the raviolis and he assured me they were coming. I sat my salad to the side as I wanted to enjoy the appetizer first. In the meantime, this place is over staffed for sure. There are two dudes that were not needed if the servers were taught how to properly pre-bus a table and then boom new placemats and rolled silverware and itscresdy for the next guest. One of these gentlemen came over to take my salad and I said no, I am waiting for my appetizer. After several minutes, here comes my server with my dinner. I said, so still no raviolis? And also reminded him that was why I indicated I wanted them before my meal so I asked him to remove them from my bill as I no longer wanted them. I continued on eating my salad which I must say was delicious and their homemade Italian Dressing was one if the best I have had to be honest. The garlic knots, though flavorful were quite overcooked and sort of on the crunchy side as you can tell in the picture. The Chicken Piccata looked inviting although this was the first time I have ever had plain chicken breast with no lightly golden crust to soak up the sauce. None the less, the chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauce with the mushrooms and capers was quite tasty and had nice lemony flavor. After the meal was complete and waiting for the check, he finally brings me a piece of cheesecake on the house for the error with the raviolis. This was a very nice gesture and very much appreciated. He continued to apologize and I told him, it's all good as long as we learn from the mistakes. He did indicate it was his third day. I truly hope, the management is providing adequate training to their servers to reflect the kind of service they want their guests to receive. I paid the bill and left a nice tip for the server as I don't feel it is right to penalize a server at a new restaurant. The overall experience outside of the ravioli mishap was a four out of five stars. With the mishap, three out if four. I will definitely be back and hope to become a regular. We stopped in yesterday without a reservation because the restaurant does not have a website, only a Facebook page with very limited information. When searching online, there was little to no information available indicating reservations were necessary. Upon arrival, we were initially told the wait would be 30-45 minutes and were asked to wait at the bar. A few minutes later, the hostess informed us that we would have the next available table. However, shortly after that, she returned and told us the wait would now be well over an hour. I spoke with the owner regarding the situation, but she appeared completely indifferent to our concerns. I have never experienced such poor communication and lack of customer service from both staff and ownership. It was an extremely disappointing experience. read more

Food is good. We've gotten take out several times (Manicotti, Chicken Salenro and lasagna). Salenro didn't have much flavor. The rest have been great ( including the cannoli and fried ravioli appetizer). Staff is prompt and friendly. My only complaint was ordering a house salad (large) and it was rather pathetic for the price $8.50. It was a handful of lettuce with 6 red onion pieces, 1 slice of cucumber and 2 tiny tomato slices. It came with two small containers of Italian dressing. For 8 bucks you could have thrown in a couple more cucumber slices or more onion. We'll be back but skipping the skimpy house salad ( stay with the mini side salad that comes with the dinner- same amount of toppings and no extra cost)- just slightly less lettuce). read more

We went there with a group of 24, and although they are not large, they were able to handle this group with grace - John is a magician! We've been back at least 4-5 times since (for happy hour (Rachel does a great job) and Pizza; and a full dinner w/friends) and have NEVER been disappointed. Their food is consistently great with reasonable pricing. My favorites, the Veal Marsala, Eggplant Parmigiana, and the Lasagna. I went here this past Friday for my birthday. I always have lasagna and their offering was delicious and the portion size was more than fair. Service was outstanding! The waitstaff was very attentive and kind. The seating for dining is small but how I would keep it also. A packed house always looks better than empty chairs. My only negative was the wait time for a table. We were told 25-30 minutes and it was 45. People that came after us were seated ahead of us and when I questioned it, I was told they had a reservation. I tried making a reservation but their webpage rejects anything less than a party of 6. I was so excited about this new Bistro in my local area, took my wife out on a Wednesday night diner. I figured that I would start with a basic dinner of spaghetti and meatballs, my wife chose to eat Fettachini Alfredo. The meal came with side salad, one coke, one water and one slice of cheesecake. I noticed that the majority of the customers were older, which made sense due to the proximity to an elderly care community. The food was sooooo bland, I could not taste any spices in any of the food... maybe the restaurant did this purposefully to support the elderly. The cost was $66, for the amount of food I received and the cheesecake was right off the truck GFS. My suggestion is if you want real Italian food pay another $5 and go to Momma Desalbo's in Kettering or The Mediterranean in Wilmington, you will taste the food. read more

A solid 4.0. The food resembles Troni's menu from their Dayton locations but the menu is very small. The main differences are no sandwiches on the menu (IE - no calzones or strombolis), fewer pasta options such as Troni's trio, and the one standard pizza size is 13". The shrimp scampi we got was decent with large sweet shrimp (20 per lb or so) and spaghetti instead of linguini noodles. A meat pizza was very good, crust very floppy at the point. Prices are expensive for what is very prosaic common food (IE, they use the shaker parmesan on everything, not parmagiana reggiano). A pizza, scampi, two side salads, two soft drinks, and no alcohol was $67. Service was pleasant but for a weekday night kind of slow, taking 10+ minutes to just put in a drink order. Lastly the vibe is boring and elderly - mostly seniors probably from Otterbein, and just a few tables of younger people. For me it felt stiff and formal where you feel like you have to talk in hushed tones just because. I'd rate it 5 if prices were lower and the vibe were more casual. read more

We had been to Tronis in Dayton so had to give this newly opened restaurant a try. We took family from out of town and they haven't stopped raving about how good the food was.
