The restaurant itself is not bad. Beautiful decor, and nicely set tables give it a good vibe. The food is good - besides the espresso. It tasted weird and was almost cold. We ordered Carpaccio, and bolognese spaghetti, tiramisu for dessert. No complaints there. The food was good. But the service... they young waitresses was very unpolished and all over the place. She filled up the small water glasses, one half full the other one too full. She kept awkwardly checking on us a few times: seriously: awkward. She just came up to the table half way almost like she didn't want to talk to us. When I ordered an espresso after dinner she looked at me oddly. She then said a what? Yes we have an espresso machine. Espresso came - in a cappuccino cup. No spoon - no sugar. I also found it odd that when we made a reservation on Open table that the restaurant stated to be booked out but in reality it was very! empty. I think they were trying to create a sense of urgency. However it doesn't look good when I reality it doesn't have hardly any guests.

My husband and I recently went to Primo for Cincinnati restaurant week. The place is gorgeous. We got the filet and a New York strip. Service was fast and very helpful for suggestions. Run as fast as you can to try this place out!!!

We went for restaurant week and the food was amazing and a great deal for everything you get. I had been one other time but this time they had the lights down with purple lighting which provided a great ambiance. Service was also very good and the food was quick for a higher end restaurant. I had a spicy margarita which I wish had a bit more flavor besides the jalapeño, but overall was very good.

Date night in Middletown?! Yes. We regret nothing. The Hubbs started with his usual Cesar while I tried the Burrata. The flavors wove themselves deliciously together. This is legit in my top 2 most amazing and unique salads. Ever. And I love a good salad. Between courses we received a champagne and sorbet palate cleanser. Trés chic. I haven't been served a palate cleanser since the late 80s. This is a posh trend that needs to make a comeback. For the main entree, the Hubbs got a steak. He enjoyed the salt rub. I ordered the Tagliatelle Alla Bolognese. Delish! The pasta was perfectly prepared and the bolognese was meaty and flavorful. We plan on coming back when the stained glass place next door is open and do a little antiquing. Definitely fine dining. Fantastic service.

we went on a friday night for restaurant week as a group of six. the vibe is very cool, my pictures of the food don't do it justice. i had heard a rumor that they have a secret speakeasy. even though its for members the manager took his time to take us on a tour and let my husband buy his favorite bourbon. that's great service!!

New restaurant in old downtown Middletown. I gather they have another location in Cincinnati and i hope they have good luck here. We were looking for reservations here and had best luck on open table app. They did not seat me until my husband was with me even though i said he was parking. We had been here when it was another restaurant. I like the building and stained glass. Seating was comfortable and bigger parties had a couch with table. They are very newly opened so I understand to grade on a curve. The staff were very nice and asked us many times if we needed anything and if we enjoyed it. Frankly, it was very pricey and didnt measure up to similar price point. 50-275 for steak. 12 for cocktails. Water glasses are very odd and tiny. We asked for ice and kept the small hlass the ice came in. Literally the water glass was closer to a shot glass size. We started with the beef carpaccio which was the thinnest id ever had. It had some greens and onion and capers on it. I would recommend it. We both got pasta entrees. I got carbonara. I liked the flavor and small portion but the pasta was disappointing. I was hoping at this price for an Aldinte texture. My husband got something with more meat a sauce. He gets something similar to mamma desalvos. Which would have been twice the amount for less price. We both were underwhelmed by the pasta. We ended the meal split with Chocolate chip cannoli. I liked it was 4 small cannolis but there was alot of lemon zest that frankly was off-putting. They offer valet for 7$ but we found free parking right in front. There arent any fine dining locations in Middletown so i hope this fills a void. They are definitely trying and i hope they do well. Personally I don't know if we will return... the cost was high .. portions were small and some aspects were lacking. Even if some improved i think for this price we would go to Jeff Ruby or Flemings. I found the water glass situation annoying.

    Inside the Primo

Little do you know in the sleepy town of Middletown there is a hidden gem with all the ambiance and quality of downtown Cincinnati. The staff is superb; friendly and welcoming and quick to suggest a tasty option or refill your glass. For the people in Mason and West Chester, a short drive to downtown Middletown gets you a upscale, fine-dining experience. This is an Italian Steakhouse, so pasta and steak, so delicious. There is outdoor seating, lounge seating for a drink. Go see a show at the renovated Sorg Opera House and have a meal here, you won't be sorry.

We tried a variety of items, starting with the spinach and artichoke dip, then shared a wedge salad. For entrees we had the lasagna and chicken parmesan. Everything was so incredibly fresh, delicious, and perfectly constructed! What was even more special was our incredibly sweet and thoughtful waitress, Randa. She took special care with explaining the menu, the restaurant, and the village to give us an idea of our new community... checking on us throughout the dining experience to make sure we were satisfied. The only words I found that I was repeating were, "A Complete Home Run!" Love, love, love this place and have already booked a reservation for Valentines Day. Ambience and wine list are spectacular also! If you want to enjoy authentic Italian cuisine in a cozy, friendly, and welcoming place, this should be your "go-to"spot!

But that was then and this is now, and the current hands-on owners give us a truly Italo-centric experience! It feels very European in here. All brick walls and an archway between the bar room and the dining room. Big wine rack in the dining room. The bar is also quite attractive and looks comfortable. I don't recall hearing any music but we were there at lunchtime on Sunday. Fire grilled artichokes grabbed me so we got this for an app. I admit I didn't read the description completely. The dish had seven little artichoke quarters drowning in Alfredo sauce. The artichoke was sweet and tender but all that sauce really overwhelmed it and this app is overpriced for the quantity. Later I realized we could have had them served with EVOO and parmesan which I would have much preferred. It was disappointing that the waitress didn't ask which preparation we wanted, and that the kitchen apparently did not ask her, either. Our two pasta dishes were delectable and the amount of protein was quite generous. We both loved our sauces, and the spicy Italian sausage (house made!) was out of this world. They sliced it nice and thin and there was so much, I was really in Heaven. The fettuccine and the capellini were done to perfect al dente. Our waitress did a great job and checked on us often. She was handling several tables and was constantly on the move but kept up well with all her guests. I was thrilled to see Limoncello cake on the dessert menu but a bit shocked at the high price. Of course it is possible you get a huge slice and I will definitely research this further next time! I plan on coming back, and soon.

Still Going Strong I…read morehad not been to an Olive Garden in over thirty years. I was in the Middletown area for business and looking for a place to eat. This Olive Garden was just down the road from my hotel and after a long day of driving, I just wanted something quick and simple. The restaurant was starting to fill up right around four-thirty as I guess many people from the surrounding hotels were looking for a place to eat. I was sat fairly quickly and ordered some of my old favourites mostly to see if they were still as good as they used to be. For my starters, I got a bowl of Pasta e Fagioli -which is made from white and red beans, ground beef, fresh tomatoes and tubetti pasta in a savoury broth. I liked that soup so much that I tried another one as my main had the option of soup or salad. My 'secondi' was the Zuppa Toscana -made with spicy Italian sausage, fresh kale and russet potatoes in a creamy broth. This was a great soup and I enjoyed it very much. My main course was another old Olive Garden favourite, the Shrimp Scampi which Olive Garden makes with Shrimp sautéed in a garlic sauce and tossed with asparagus, tomatoes and angel hair. The shrimp were plump juicy and plentiful. Overall a great meal and not much has changed over the years which means I just make another return to the Olive Garden.

Personally I'd given up on them but just go there with my mom. But this week was surprisingly good. we did the soup and salad which is our most likely choice ... but it was best experience we had at any olive garden in years. I usually ask they bring the soup out hot otherwise it's barely warm. I forgot to mention that and was very pleasantly surprised that the soup was nice and hot and had a great flavor like the old days the garlic sticks breadsticks came out hot and fresh and the salad wasn't swimming and dressing. This location for years put the soup bowls on the same chilled plates that the salad comes out on which obviously makes the lukewarm soup unacceptably cold. We had been told in the past that that's what the manager expected them to do which I thought was ridiculous. I don't know if they got a new manager but the plates that the soup came out on we're not chilled yay. I will say that both the soup and a salad the portions were very small but if you ask they bring you more. I'm not butt hurt about that since I hate wasting food and I'm not too shy to ask lol. We even shared a piece of pie and it was delish I don't know if it was called bow tie pie but it was really good. Service was good. I didn't take any pictures of the food but everything was great. I guess they don't give out the little chocolates at the end of the meal like they used to unless you ask.
