Shrimp with garlic potatoes and sausage
    Monica L W.

This was our third shot at trying to find a good crab place. The first two were closed. When we got to this place, it was steady ordering and pick up service. It's only take out. No crab. We ordered the shrimp with garlic potatoes and sausage and house fried rice. The former was delicious; the latter only so so. However, if you put the broth from the shrimp onto the rice-totally different story. It was good, but I'm sure there's better. I'll keep looking.

Wanted some wings in the area and saw this place. Two words to describe this place would be "hood spot". Small little place with to go only through the window. Who I assumed was the owner was nice. I ordered 8 garlic wings with shrimp fried rice. Both items were tasty with the fried rice better than many of the other Chinese to go places around. I would return.

I use to live in the area so I pretty much grew up eating from this spot. The garlic wings are just so good and reasonably priced. I would suggest everyone check this place out! The owner is an older Asian fellow who is very kind and cares about his customers. I doubt you'll leave disappointed after tasting the food here! Just a tip of advice there is no seating/ dining area here. It is a grab and go kinda spot.

Yummy garlic wings! Wish there were seating, but it was 100 degrees out so would still have done takeout.

You order at the food truck, grab a picnic table under the trees, and wait while everything is cooked fresh. The sign says, "Be patient. Be kind." Trust me, it's worth both. The smoked wahoo dip disappeared embarrassingly fast. Creamy, smoky, and packed with flavor. The blackened grouper sandwich was the star of the show. Perfectly seasoned, flaky, moist, and piled high on toasted bread with fresh toppings. The soft shell crab sandwich was crispy, sweet, and one of those meals that requires extra napkins and zero shame. Even the roasted broccoli was charred just right. Come for the seafood. Stay for the quirky atmosphere. Leave wondering why you've waited so long to eat here.

There's plenty of umbrellaed tables and picnic tables. They have a full menu of apps, seafood, and burgers. Their whole fried snapper is one of our favorite fish, and Hookin' serves a generous serving, perfectly tender and sweet, in a light crispy layer of coating, on a regular soft bun, with lettuce, tomato, and red onion. Their Fried Wahoo is also well-prepared. We got fried, and it was tender and fresh. Both fish came with a heaping serving of hot crispy fries. You could also get either fish blackened, and you could add various veggies as sides. We ordered our food and also picked it up ourselves at the bar. Hookin' can get crowded, especially when they have a live musician, and parking can get pretty tight. It's just off I-275 at 22nd St, in St. Pete Fl east of Gulfport. They keep their social media pretty up-to-date, but we didn't track down a "regular" webpage.

It was delicious and so was the mustard it came with. My partner usually doesn't like mustard but he said this one complimented the sausage well. We sat inside by the kitchen so we had the pleasure of seeing all the food look and smelling delicious as it left the kitchen. Outside seating is also available. Everything we ordered was amazing. Only regret was not coming in my actual birthday for the free meal.

We started with the crispy pork belly, which looked a little on the drier side when it arrived but don't let that fool you, the brown sugar bourbon glaze it was dressed in was delicious. Really enjoyed it as a starter. The tavern burger came highly recommended as one of their best dishes, and while it was a good burger, it didn't quite blow us away. Surprisingly mild on flavor despite the toppings, and it's a BIG boy... which I know some people love, but I tend to prefer a smash burger so I'll take partial responsibility for that note! The fries, however, were excellent... textured, crispy, exactly how fries should be. The real standout of the visit was the chilaquiles (the chef's brunch special). It ran a little dry, but the flavors more than made up for it. The combination of crunchy tortilla chips, smoky sauce, pickled onions, egg, avocado, and cilantro all together was just so good... my boyfriend was equally obsessed. Would absolutely order again. Service was great and overall had a really enjoyable visit... Stillwaters continues to deliver a solid experience and I'll keep coming back!

Trophy Fish, located in the Art District of St. Pete, did not disappoint! Nautical-inspired ambiance gives off island vibes from the fresh seafood and friendly service. Fun seafood apps and an intentional mains menu make this a great spot for a light dinner or apps and drinks! I had the daily catch, which was amberjack, citrus rub, with slaw and taters. It was a lovely meal with flaky fish, tangy slaw, and decadent potatoes! Good value for the cost! Had the Gone Fishing to drink, which came served in a themed bobber glass. Rum-forward without being too boozy, balanced with sweetness and nuance from the tea. Surprisingly elevated for a beach bar vibe! Would absolutely recommend! EXPERIENCE: I love…read morethis restaurant downnnnn!!!! The food is always amazing and service is soo sweet and attentive. Took my parents here and they thoroughly enjoyed it -- especially being able to walk the pier afterwards. A little tip -- It's a bustling environment, lively, and very busy. Please be patient with the workers! With that being said, I strongly recommend making a reservation. I was surprised at how busy it was for a Monday night. FOOD: Calamari 10/10 -- I always and will continue to order this appetizer every time I come here. It's delicious, no notes! Shrimp Ceviche 10/10 -- A good tangy sour taste and they give you more than enough chips to dip. Mussels 8/10 -- Hurts my heart to rate anything here below a 10 but the portion size was too small. Maybe it's due to the fact that most of the mussles were empty. The sauce was rich though! I loved dipping it with the bread that was provided. Roasted Half Chicken 8/10 -- I didn't try this, it was my dad's entree. He said it was good but he's never been a huge chicken fan. Just wanted to try something new. It is a huge portion despite being only half. Maine Lobster Roll 10/10 -- This was my mom's entree but I am huge lobster fan so I stole some. I loved it. It's creamy goodness. Original Panko Crusted Sandwich -- I always get this as my entree and it never fails to satisfy me. It's definitely the remoulade that keeps me ordering this every time. It's sooo good. Especially with ketchup (sorry lol!). Penne with Shrimp 9/10 -- My sisters entree. She is a huge pasta fan and she loved how cheesy it was. Even my dad enjoyed a few bites from her dish.
