I must say the customer service is spot on. That carried the weight of my 3 stars. I can't teal it complain about anything but I can't really compliment much. It was just a basic visit for me. The yuca I was most excited for but it was sad compared to what I make at home. The rice lacked flavor and the chicken was basic. The price was a little much I feel like. I've been here several times (lunch and dinner) since it's opened so obviously I like it. The food is always hot and the chicken is very delicious. LOVE the jalapeño sauce. The staff is always friendly and welcome you when you enter. There are a few large (6 to 8) tables available so this place is good for groups. I'll be back! read more

Excellent!! It was so good I came to eat here 3 days in a row for lunch. You get every dollar worth in this place because they serve that plate with love. I've loved the family meal deals from Tropical Grille long before takeout became most restaurants' serving method. It's a great option for serving a group but awesome to feed an individual or couple for multiple meals (the way the items are packaged separately produce a lot of packaging waste but offer convenience of building your own servings). The family meal for four is a large serving of chopped chicken and allows you to choose four sides, four sauces and a 2 liter soda. The chopped chicken is served fresh and flavorful, always really juicy and tender enough to be reheated the next day without worrying over it being tough or dry. You can choose white, brown or yellow rice. I love the black beans which definitely have a spicy Cuban flavor but pair perfectly with the chicken and rice. The veggies (cauliflower, broccoli and carrots) were cooked perfectly with steamed tenderness paired with a grilled crunch. The yuca fries are kind of like wedge potatoes, but almost more bland? Not in a bad way though - they're delicious just not strongly flavored! I highly recommend the baked sweet plantains whether you choose them as a side or add them on as a dessert. Picture attached to my review shows the small portion (perfect for 2-3 people) but they also offer a large serving. These plantains are similar to caramelized bananas and every bit is just melt in your mouth amazing! Last but not least, they have a lot of sauce options! Luckily you get to choose four with the meal deal so you can try a few out, but the sour cream sauce and guava bbq are my faves. Also got the salsa and sweet & sour this most recent visit. We used DoorDash to delivery food from the Tropical Grill on Woodruff Road, see attached. The Cuban Chop was mostly correct, although I was never certain that the protein was pork, I think it was but based on the flavor it could have been chicken. The Yuca Fries were cut too thick and had zero seasoning...ugh. The Classic Chop regular is the reason for One Star (otherwise it would have been Three Stars). We ordered the Chicken Chop with Cauliflower rice, mild salsa, beans, corn and no sauce. What was delivered was a big serving of yellow rice and some chopped chicken and that was it....not even close! Will not order from them again, that is for sure. read more

We've eaten dine-in at several Tropical Grille locations over the years, so I decided to have them cater my wife's 60th birthday party for 21 adults and 6 kids. The price was reasonable and everything was ready on time and well packaged for travel. Everything was delicious, the chicken was warm and juicy and all the guests LOVED the food and sauces. On top on everything else, the package included decent sized serving spoons and tongs, along with plates, cups, napkins and forks. This was my first visit to a Tropical Grille, which advertises themselves as a healthy fast food alternative. This location was new and clean. Overall the service was good and our order came quickly. When we paid with credit card, we were prompted to tip even though there isn't any sort of table service. This always mildly irritates me. My only other complaint was they appeared to only have one high chair. Another baby came while my child was using it, and they had to wait for us to finish up. The food itself was good for fast food, and I think worth the price. The pork in the Cuban roasted pork bowl was tender and flavorful, but otherwise nothing exciting. The south of the border bowl was also pretty good, though not particularly unique. However for a fast food experience, these did the job quite nicely. read more

They have some good and very healthy options on the menu. The only reason that I don't go more often is because it's about an hour drive from my house. Ordered online for me to pick up on Friday during my lunch break. Walked into the restaurant it's total chaos. There is no one monitoring "suicidal" social distance. I had to butt into line just to see where pickups get in line. From there I had to wait 5 mins to be told that my order online was not consistent with the website. I asked for a refund and He tried to offer me something else. First off I'm a customer who already paid for my food before entering your establishment. Second of all I don't settle for suggestions when I ordered what I preferred. Lastly, I had to leave without being satisfied and getting rude. I will NEVER eat with this establishment ever again, as I have eaten here and the other locations in the upstate sc region. Look guys, Holy Molli is right across the street just beyond the fresh market. They are convenient and efficient. This experience has ruined every visit to tropical grille.
