I came here because I had a T-Mobile Tuesday deal for a free smoothie with the purchase of $5 or more. I never really thought to come here for my lunch break but I decided to try it since I had an offer. It was actually really good! The smoothie I ordered was the Bahama Mama which has strawberries, pineapples, and coconut. It was really yummy but I must warn you, it was a big size. I ended up ordering a Caribbean jerk chicken wrap. This was also really tasty and had a little kick to it. I overall enjoyed this experience. It was very quick to get my food. The workers were really nice and the restaurant was very clean and tidy. I would totally come back. read more

Popped in here after going to Perspire sauna to refuel. Service was quick and the smoothie was yum, so was the wrap. In the middle of eating my food i look over and to my left was a cockroach crawling on the walls. I immediately stopped eating and threw all my food away and left. I love tropical smoothie Cafe. There's plenty of options for smoothies and sandwiches, and this location is pretty big. This location has plenty of high top seating, along with low tops outside of the restaurant. This shop had friendly staff and even had some jokes with the cashier. I ordered the Cali chicken club flat bread since they had a combo of avocado and bacon. It came with a side of slaw or a bag of chips, and since I'm not a big fan of slaw, I got a bag of Sun Chips Harvest Cheddar (best flavor ever), and I washed it down with a blueberry bliss shake which was; blueberry, strawberry and banana. The shake was good, but the blueberry flavor took over everything else. You wouldn't think strawberry or banana was in it. I advise if anyone is a fan of Tropical smoothie food and smoothies, download the app and order your food in advance so you won't have to wait. read more

They made us wait almost 2 weeks to get a refund for our moldy meal. This week they are promoting free delivery and since I am in a wheelchair with a broken ankle I decided to give them another chance. We ordered 3 sandwiches and 4 smoothies. $42.00!!! It was the smoothies we were excited about. We opted for the contactless delivery. I have my daughter run out to meet the Door Dash Driver and receive the product but he left and sure enough there was NO smoothies. Call the restaurant and tell us WE have to pick them up. They said the SMOOTHIES were there. And it was the drivers fault because they have a contract with door dash and it's their responsibility. However we ordered this through the Tropical Smoothie Restaurant website. DoorDash has no record of it because we ordered it directly from the restaurant. Neither entity would take responsibility. Neither entity would deliver the smoothies. The restaurant basically said sorry. If you want to come and get them that's fine but TS was going to do anything else for us. Tropical smoothie was completely unapologetic. Completely unsympathetic and of no help at all. The cowardly manager on duty Ryan wouldn't even come to the phone. He sent all the messages through staff person Caryme. Ultimately they told us we have to file a complaint via email with the receipt. So they have our money and we only have a receipt with their name on it but no smoothies or service. Theft? Do with this what you may. I just think that after two negative experiences and such an unapologetic reaction that they deserved a little attention. Follow up: finally got the local manager to say he would submit a refund request. I have to follow up in five days with my credit card company. Check out the photo of his response. I'm kind of torn in this visit tonight because the food was tasty but the staff was not really friendly, the floors had puddles all over (it had been mopped but there were literal puddles all around) and the trash was overflowing. The place was empty when we walked in. The person working the food counter didn't greet us, didn't offer to help, just kind of stared at us after a while. Both of the people that delivered our food and smoothie did not say anything or even smile when we thanked them. We ordered a chicken caprese sandwich and a smoked grilled cheese sandwich. Both were tasty! I really liked the kale and apple slaw as well. My son's smoothie (Paradise Point) was also very good. Maybe we'll just take it to go next time. read more

I eat here at least once a week for lunch, its close by, convenient and the staff is super friendly and very quick to provide your order. I never had a mistake when I've ordered and It's always fresh tasting. The location is clean and well organized, even though it can tight when it's a little busy, i always manage to find a seat and enjoy. They offer tables outside allowing some fresh air on my lunch break. Best thing is Tropical smoothie has more than just smoothies. They offer sandwiches and flatbread wraps, the chicken pesto being my favorite along with their kale-apple slaw which i haven't found anywhere else. I love this smoothie place, I just wish they had one in Sanford! I'm extremely surprised I haven't written a review yet because I visit at least once a month! What I usually order is their Superfood Smoothie Health Nut (Blueberries, mango, banana, and almonds). You have a choice of protein and so I usually order Pea Protein because I no longer eat meat. Back in the day, when I ate chicken, I used to order from their food menu. Their sandwiches were really good but they offer now a hummus and veggie option. They even have a breakfast menu which is something I haven't tried yet. The reason for my 4 star rating is because they need to offer more vegetarian and at least one seafood option. I mean, this is Tropical Smoothie Cafe, right? I love the choices of proteins to add in shakes. It's time to maybe switch things up a bit by adding other vegan or pescatarian options. Yikes. If you want a healthy smoothie, don't go here. Look up the nutritional info for the Açaí Berry Blast. 102g of sugar. Every drink comes with at least 2 ounces of sugar. This translates to around 56 grams of sugar. Your sugar intake should be max 36 grams for men, and 24 for women. A smoothie company shouldn't be this unhealthy. Stay away. read more

I've done online ordering at a scheduled time two times now and both were ready for me when I got there! Staff has always been friendly, inside is clean, good variety of smoothies or you can add supplements/other items to smoothies already on their menu. I get the same thing pretty much every time, because I'm a calorie counter and their detox smoothie is the bommmmb. It's 180 calories and SO good. Has spinach, kale, mango, pineapple, banana, and ginger. They also have sandwiches and quesadillas, salads, wraps. This location is in a large shopping center near The Fresh Market, Ross, Sally's, etc. so they all share a very large parking lot. Tip: online order a smoothie on a Tuesday, pick it up and then walk in to Fresh Market next door and get their 2.99/lb Tuesday chicken breast special! read more

I have tried a few of the smoothie and one of the wraps and I'm very pleased with the taste and value of what's offered here. I tried the Jamaican jerk chicken wrap and wasn't expecting anything special from a smoothie place. To my surprise it was actually pretty good. I've been to this place 3 times now. Some of the other reviews express a subpar experience from the staff. I haven't experience that in my visits to this location. They are attentive and finish my orders in a reasonable time. I've been feeling under the weather so I decided to get a smoothie to cool down my sore throats and maybe some extra Vitamin C. The staff person recommended a sweeter (always my preference) Vitamin c heavy smoothie and suggested that I could also get an extra shot of Vitamin C . The smoothie was great. While there I also eyed the wraps and asked the staff person if the Thai peanut wrap was spicy. "Not really" she said, which I was going to follow up on until she said "it's more of a sweet peanut". Given that Thai peanut can go into either of these directions I felt reassured. Got my food relatively quickly, and headed back to the office. Let's just say that the wrap was definitely not the sweet version but more the spicy option. Which is fine if you like that, and it doesn't give you heart burn and you're not already sick given all these factors I only took the one bite and then called it quits. Which is pretty sad because I wasted about $8. Oh well ... I understand that individual differences in spice preference exist, but it would have been nice if they just said it does have a little bit of heat, which would have been enough for me to pick something else or maybe not buy food in the first place. read more

It pains me to give any review 1 star, but my experience here was pretty terrible. The guy in front of me in line was allowed to chat about non food/smoothie related topics for 5 minutes. Then the girl who was supposed to take the order was upset about something and left someone else to handle everything. One person was in charge of making all the food in one tiny oven. It took so long to receive my food that I almost had to ask for it to go to get back to work in time from my lunch break. Even with a coupon my smoothie and tiny little flatbread sandwich was $8. The chicken in the sandwich ws dried out and flavorless. For the terrible service and the poor quality of food AND the price, I will definitely not be returning to spend any more of my money there! read more

I frequent this location at least 3-4x a week because it is near my house. One of the managers Lexi is so professional and goes above and beyond every time I come into this location. She remembers my order and banana allergy and even double checks to make sure my smoothie is correct if someone else makes it. Overall I think this location does a great job. They can get pretty busy but the staff handles the line quickly, of course there may be an occasional order mix up or mistake but we're human, things happen. read more

I want to give Tropical Smoothie 5 stars as I have been coming here for several years. They have one of the best Chicken Salad sandwiches around. It is one of my guilty pleasures. So why only 2 stars? When I started going there, the staff they had was fantastic. Each and Every one of them. It did not matter who was there, the consistency and quality of the product delivered was there. I would go in and they knew my order before I got to the register. I guess a year or so ago, they had some sort of management change and all of these employees were gone. Not one or two, ALL of them. Disappointing, but not the end of the world, I mean we are just talking about a smoothie, right? Wrong! It became an absolute crap shoot whether my smoothie was any good or not. I get some of it. New employees, learning the ropes. I gave it a few months but it just got worse. I do not joke when I say that I had to have my smoothie remade at at least 50% of the time. So I stopped going. My kids had grown to love them as well and over the past 6-9 months I kept getting, "Dad, lets go to TSC!" and I would say NO. Well, this past weekend, the old cravings came back and we all went in for a lunch smoothie and chicken salad sandwich. The sandwich was just ok, same good salad but smaller portions and smaller bread (This could very well be a memory issue for me, so take it with a grain of salt). The prevailing method when the smoothies get clogged in the blender is to add more water. Well just like before I stopped going, I get a blueberry/banana smoothie that looks pale ( you can tell when its been watered down) and tastes like ice. So, I stared angrily at the staff, sulked, sucked on my bland smoothie and ate my sandwich. I am done again. I am a sucker for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th,... chances, so we shall see what the future holds. PS... My kids get chocolate smoothies and never complain, so it appears to be my issue. read more

Ordered a buffalo chicken wrap meal online for a curbside pickup yesterday. When I arrived, there was no signage on where to park so that they know you arrived. Parked in the parking lot and went inside to be told that my order is being prepared. The place started to get packed so I told the cashier that I'll be waiting outside as I wanted to keep social distance from so many people. After waiting 15min from the time my order was suppose to be ready, I go inside and ask about my order again. Was told it's being prepared as we speak, meanwhile other people that arrived after me were getting their meals and leaving. Ok....I'm waiting 10 more minutes and decided to tell her I need to cancel my order if it's not ready as I need to be at work in 10min. (Lunchtime down the drain) so she checks and it's ready. Gives me the order and I leave in a rush only to find out they gave me a buffalo chicken salad when I ordered a warp. At this point I have 5min to eat my meal before I have to clock in. I'm looking for silverware. None. So I didn't get a lunch because I had to go back to work. Never again. This location needs structure with its online orders, and directing people on where to stand with social distancing and how many people are allowed inside at a time. read more

Feb 23, 2018 was the first time I visited this place. I always wondered what the food and smoothies were like. I must say, I was not disappointed. The staff members were nice and helpful, as well as cute. The smoothie she made was quick, healthy, and delicious. It was a Heath Nut Smoothie with Whey protein. I absolutely loved the design of their cafe. It's bathroom was nice neat and clean. The floors were clean. The air was colorfully filled with the smell of fresh produce which was very soothing to the nose. It was clear of as to where to stand or wait in line. I was the only person there which made it that more pleasant. I felt as if I was treated like a celebrity. Every time our eyes met, a smile was shared. I call that expert customer service that tip-worthy and that is what I gave them. read more

Probably the worst experience I've ever had a Tropical Smoothie, though it still isn't as bad as the service at some other fast food restaurants. My car was being fixed at the Tires Plus around the corner, so I decided to walk over and get something to eat. The store was very crowded, but I ordered a Hawaiian Breeze smoothie, a Buffalo Chicken Wrap, and Baked Cheddar and Sour Cream chips. Immediately I was given Cheddar Harvest chips (honest mistake - they both have "cheddar" in the name) which I swapped back out for the chips I preferred. This is where it got bad. I waited about fifteen minutes before I got my wrap (all four girls were on the wrap station so I'm not sure why it took so long for everyone to get their food), which was pretty good - overall, I wish the chicken was warmer and less soggy.* Mind you, I got a Buffalo Chicken Wrap, which is spicy and I don't have a drink yet. While I was sitting and eating, I took in exactly how dirty the floors were and how much splatter was on the glass plate that separates the area where they prepare the smoothies and where guests eat. I didn't think anything of it since it was lunch time and the store was a little busy.* About twenty minutes after I finished my wrap I went back up to the counter to tell the girl that they forgot to make my smoothie (no one wears name tags at this TSC so I don't know what their names were). She put a blender next in line and told the girls making the smoothies (two of the girls finally realized that TSC also serves smoothies) that I had been waiting a long time to get my smoothie so they needed to make it next. There is clearly a lot of hostility between the employees at this TSC because they were all arguing the entire time, blaming each other for stupid things, and the two girls completely ignored the girl on the register.* Finally, another girl came out from the back and asked if I was waiting on something. I explained once again that it had been about thirty minutes since I ordered my meal and I still had not received my smoothie, so we went through the process again where the two girls at the smoothie station ignored the girls on the register.* At long last I received a smoothie, which I took a sip of and realized was not mine but the woman's who was standing next to me. The girl at the smoothie station tried to give it to the other woman who was also waiting but we both stopped her and asked her to make another one, which she had an attitude about.* About five minutes later I received yet another smoothie which I was asked to give back since it was ONCE AGAIN the wrong one. I ended up getting a refund and the right smoothie after about forty-five minutes of waiting with the spiciest of tastes in my mouth. The girls on the register apologized and they were kind to the guests. * My overall advice for this TSC is to hire a manager or a supervisor. None of these things would have been an issue if there was a decent manager or supervisor watching the employees to make sure everyone was where they needed to be and doing what they needed to be doing. Don't get me wrong, TSC smoothies are God's gift to the human race, but forty-five minutes for any smoothie is thirty minutes (at the most) too long! read more

This is my family's favorite place to get smoothies, and there are six of us. We think the smoothies have more flavor, less watered down, and are less sugary than S. King or Planet. However, they do add sugar, so if you don't want it in your smoothie you will have to ask them to make it without sugar. We also love their food. It is a great place to grab a quick bite. They have recently changed their menu, but you can still get everything they had on the old menu if you request it. Great alternative to all the typical fast food joints in the area. read more
