I ordered the hummus wrap and it was honestly whatever, but the customer service I received was absolutely impeccable! The owner attended us and he was so attentive and explained to me the entire menu, because I was indecisive on what I wanted to ordered. I ordered the Health Nut Smoothie, and I honestly believe that's there expertise. The Smoothie tasted so fresh, light and had a healthy green taste to it! So good! I'm vegetarian, and I was happy to know they have a chicken alternative (brand is Beyond Meat) but unfortunately the day I went, they ran out :( the owner said you can replace any of the items on the menu for with the alternative, so that's super awesome and extra points! We decided to try their food this time around, and overall, the Turkey Bacon Ranch sandwich and the Beachside BBQ Wrap were both very delicious and flavorful. When they served my wrap, I was pretty disappointed at how small it was, but it was surprisingly filling. The sandwich and the wrap both came with a side of either chips or a cookie (we chose the chips). I've been a few times. Sandwiches are great tasting and pricing is adequate. Today I had the avocado shake (recommended by owner) and I liked it. Shake had a neat blend of fruits and avocado, very refreshing. The owner is always polite and makes good recommendations. He is kind to my daughter, which is a nice extra touch. I really do appreciate owners who are hands on, I feel it makes a difference. The staff is made up mostly of young high school students (maybe early years college) and though they are young, I have always seen them keeping it professional. There is a bit of a wait, that's really the only thing 5-10 mins. If they could improve turn around time of shakes and food, that would be wonderful. This place isn't the best smoothie spot I've been to the smoothies come in one size but they are huge and i couldn't finish it all with the wrap that i ordered. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap, the proportion of chicken to buffalo sauce and ranch was poor. I ordered the strawberry and banana smoothie it was alright it tasted like a strawberry and banana smoothie. This place is not good for a quick stop my food took a while. My sister got the Baja chicken bowl and the amount of lettuce to everything else was too much she couldn't finish it because the amount of lettuce was just too much. Tropical Smoothie has always been a great place with great smoothies. Unfortunately this location is not so great. My friend & I were in the area so we placed a curbside order & passed by. The app isn't as developed as it could be but that's not any specific locations fault nor problem. You have to call when you're there, so we called when we arrived & they came out to bring our order. I have dietary restrictions as a vegetarian & just wanted something small, so I just ordered a cheese quesadilla. However I bit into the quesadilla & I realized right away there was chicken. I then got off to go ask for a new quesadilla & a lady outside the location, who I assume is the manager/owner, asked me what was wrong. And so I simply shared that I got a chicken quesadilla but I ordered cheese & I'm vegetarian. She advised I go inside & they'll help me with a new one. I didn't know how to feel but I wasn't upset because I understand mistakes can happen. While I'm waiting I can see the guy making it, he's almost done so he naturally grabbed a new container. But I then witness her tell the employee to place it in the box where the old one was in. I couldn't believe it & also had no energy to say anything. I come here all the time because it's one of the only smoothie places around the TMB airport. The owner is a bit creepy and tries to flirt with all the young women who go there. I have literally had to wait about ten minutes while he chatted them up about college and yoga. Make sure you check your smoothie- there have been times I have gone back because it was simply ice water with no fruit. Food is ok. Smoothies are for a good price. Staff Is ok. Mmmm! That's the word I use to summarize each visit I had to Tropical Smoothie Café! This may come as a surprise to you, but I only started coming to this place this past year. The only question I have is why I haven't started visiting Tropical Smoothie sooner. The restaurant is inviting the minute you enter: the nice interior includes subtle touches of tropical, as well as artwork on the wall. The restaurant also has an extensive range of smoothies and dishes to choose from. A majority of the smoothies are made to order with fresh fruit and vegetables and yogurt, just the way any healthy smoothie should be. The staff is very friendly, and willing to point out the better options on the menu. When I was craving a smoothie with peaches, I asked for a Peaches n' Silk (peaches, strawberries and bananas). However, the cashier recommended the Get Up and Goji (goji, peaches, bananas and frozen yogurt). I ended up getting the latter, and it exceeded my expectations of a peach smoothie that day! They also make a few smoothies with peanut butter and chocolate, but honestly, you will want the fresh fruit and veggie smoothies. Coming all the way to Tropical Smoothie Café for a peanut butter and chocolate smoothie is like going to a Chinese buffet for fries: why come at all if you are just going for something you can get in a lot of other places? The same idea applies to the food the Smoothie Café serves: they have cookies, but you are better off getting one of their scrumptious wraps, soft shell tacos or sandwiches. Wraps include Thai Chicken and Jamaican Jerk Chicken, while tacos include Jalapeño Chicken and Cilantro Lime Fish. It is refreshing to come back every once in a while because they will come up with some cool new limited-time smoothie or entree. When I visited last summer, the Café had limited-time Avocolada smoothies - smoothies with avocado, mint and watermelon - and limited-time Luau Sliders. That summer was actually the first time I ever went, and I have been pleased with the restaurant ever since. When my mom and I went, we bought two wraps, two sides and two smoothies for $15.99 plus tax. The food is reasonably priced, and we had absolutely no complaints when eating and drinking. So annoying when you've been coming here for years and they don't know how to make your favorite smoothie. You would think they'd have book with all old recipes in them. They've been making me the kiwi citrus green tea smoothie for years. Guess the staff turnover is so high they don't know the older--better recipes. And then the staff was rude when they said they don't know the recipe and cannot make it; total turn off that I didn't even order anything and walked out. Store needs better training including the actual recipes of the smoothies and for customer service. Some of the conversations of the staff in the back you can hear from the front and they are so unprofessional.
