First plate of fruit and protein.
    Cheryl M.

First, the resort is very nice! Tropicale is a restaurant available for breakfast. They have very friendly servers and welcoming staff. I chose to get the buffet for the array of options. The same items in the buffet are available for the a la carte choices. Buffet is $35/pp. I sampled small bites of the majority of the items to provide a good review. I live in the south so I enjoy a good bowl of grits. I would not recommend the grits. They're not made with love the way I'm accustomed to eating but the protein options are plentiful including smoked salmon which was delicious btw. There's an omelette bar where you fill out a slip and tell the cook how to prepare it with lots of add-ons like peppers, onions s, mushroom, cheese and protein. There's a large amount of fruit choices too. Practically anything you want. The carbs are on overload. Pancakes, waffles, toast, oatmeal, potatoes, yogurt, parfaits with all the toppings. There is also cereal for the kiddos. Beverages are water, milk, juice, coffee & various teas. There's soothing music playing so it's enjoyable and relaxing. I'm ready to get started after this somewhat healthy meal.

The Tropicale is situated within the Caribe Royale Orlando resort, which offers a variety of breakfast or full breakfast buffet option. The plus... Attentive staff and plenty of seating accommodations. The minus... It's abit on the pricy side; $20 for Adults and $10 for Kids. $15 for Adults maybe...but $20 seems pricy for average breakfast food. I've had better breakfast foods at other places I've stayed at...ala free Continental Breakfast.

The service was amazing, everyone was very attentive and helpful. The omelet bar is amazing and they have a wide selection of different breakfast options. The food itself is really good and filling. I thought the food and price justified the selection. Cannot recommend it enough.

It's inside of Caribe Royale and open at certain hours. I was there for breakfast. It has some decent buffet selections. Server was nice and helpful. There is also an omelette bar that a cook can prepare it for your liking. Price was on the high side but I was full. There are some nice fruit and breakfast items that you may enjoy. Also it looked very clean.

    Christmas Day Buffet

We went for the Christmas buffet during our stay at Caribe Royale. I have to say, for $50pp, I was not entirely impressed. Our waitress and the rest of the staff were fantastic, though the hostess and other people at the station were a bit rude, having a conversation instead of greeting us. I assumed it was simply because they were trying to figure out tables, even though we had a reservation. The cheese table was good. Nice selection of cheeses, cured meats, dried fruit, hot and cold smoked salmon, oysters, shrimp, fruit, etc....and an ice sculpture! There was an omelette station that we did not try. Salads were many and all were just okay, sushi was sub par...then we got to the mains. There were quite a few mains. 1 or 2 vegetarian, and then all different types of meat. I tried a bit of several, and none stood out to me as particularly flavorful or delicious. I would think that it would be better to do 3 mains very well than 8 mediocre ones, but I digress. There was also a carving station. I didn't bother trying it. The dessert table was the shining star of the buffet (though it still did not make it worth the overall cost). So many gorgeous desserts, done very well. Bravo to the pastry chef!

Good breakfast , with a great waitress Viviaana . Prompt, polite , never missed a beat. Stop down and give them a try . Prices very reasonable for a great hotel.

Bagel with Lox - very good. The hard boiled egg was a nice touch.

Great breakfast and buffet - never been a big fan of hotel food but this was well done. I ate here twice and recommend it.

BLT Sandwich barely made the picture lol

My BLT sandwich was the bomb! My fries as well! Another plus is that they give you warm bread and butter to start! Who doesnt like that?! Didn't expect this restaurant to be good but I had a good dinner and price was nothing too crazy Thank you

Terrible options an food combinations. My friend and I ordered a salad with salmon to start. Never have I had such an old piece of salmon on my plate. I guess since I did not even have the option for the salmon to be cooked medium rare I should have seen this coming. The fish almost tasted like a metallic cardboard. Thank goodness the vegetables were somewhat fresh since my friend and I did not get sick the next day. As for our entrees, we ordered their grouper with purple mash and hollandaise sauce. It seems like a restaurant trick to make us full and satisfied, but it did the complete opposite for me. The mash was so unnecessary as it did not add any substance to the fish. Luckily, unlike the salmon, the grouper was quite tasty by itself. The hollandaise sauce was an interesting choice of sauce. I would honestly skip the dessert here at The Tropicale. My friend and I shared the lava cake expecting to finally get satisfied after our dessert. Boy, did we think wrong. There was no lava chocolate cake as no filling oozed out. The vanilla ice cream was also cheap ice cream that taste like sugar ice water... Never again. I might as well fast when I'm in Orlando.

The carpet in the room majorly needs an upgrade, as do the bathrooms. Two bed rooms come with a queen and a full which is interesting - I wish it was just two queens. The queen feels more like full size and the full feels more like twin size. It's a tough share for two, even with littles. Rooms are also really small, like hard to find floor space for your suitcase small. All rooms are advertised to have balconies, and I think this is false advertising. It's a juliet balcony, just wide enough to step foot on. But otherwise, this was a solid hotel stay. If you opt not to do valet you can still park on hotel grounds and it's only a few minutes walk to the car. The pool area is very large with several different pools, a splash pad and a slide. There is also a lake to take boats out on. We didn't try this, but it's a fun amenity. You can also rent bikes, and there was a rock wall! The highlight of our stay was the hotel parrot, Merlot. My kids got a huge kick out of this on our way in and out each day. We didn't try and food or drink here, but they do have a few restaurants on the property. Overall, this hotel is nice enough. Especially if you are using Hyatt rewards. Oh, and most importantly it's only a few minutes drive from Disney, AND we saw the fireworks from our 'balcony'. Big win!

It is a short 2alj to the corner roads where there are also an abundance of restaurants and shops nearby. Disney springs is 1.5miles away by car or a 45min walk. The service is excellent and I enjoy the poolside foid and drink service. They have implemented a towel system to scan your room card and return when done using or if not returned there's a $25 fee per towel charged to your room. The cabanas are huge! There are 2 hot tubs, and 3 interconnected pools. The shallow pool towards the rock wall is quietest and warmest. The pools tend to be on the cooler side. Bid say for December they should be heated to at least 82. It felt like it was between 75-80. When the weather outside is around the same it gets chilly stepping out of the pool. We used the kayaking, golf and bike rentals. All which are included in your resort fee of $50per day. Such a fun place. I recommend to spend a few days to soley stay at the property to relax and enjoy all it offers. You never have to leave the resort.

Let's focus on the positives first: the atmosphere is incredibly fun and the live music Saturday night was a perfect touch at the bar. There were plenty of fun activities for the kids and there was an all-you-can-eat buffet for the kids with fried chicken and shrimp, macaroni and cheese, fries, and red velvet cupcakes. $25 is a deal if your child would chow down on shrimp, but it might not be a great deal if your child is usually full after four bites. Our server was absolutely fantastic, friendly and very attentive. We started off the dinner with some fantastic deviled eggs and a lemon cello cocktail. I ordered the shrimp and grits and was really disappointed with the tiny, overcooked shrimp and crawfish that accompanied the slightly bland grits. The shrimp on the kids buffet was at least four times larger than the sad little shrimp in my dish. I think the sausage was cut into smaller chunks just so it wouldn't be so obvious how small the shrimp was. My husband didn't love his heirloom tomato salad and said the Wagyu appetizer was disgusting. Dessert was mediocre. The macarons that accompanied my crème brûlée were stale and chewy. This is a fun spot for a drink and appetizer, but I would skip eating dinner at Highball & Harvest.

LetterPress is the Hilton Buena Vista's marquee restaurant, offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a family friendly setting with nice touches. We made a reservation well in advance just in case but the place seems large enough where walking in shouldn't be much of an issue. After sitting down we got right back up as we opted for the breakfast buffet, which at $30 is an absolute steal. Let's get into what we got: We started off with carbs: pancakes and waffles. Both of which were okay with there being. A decent wait on the waffle machine. Unless you're craving either we would say it's not the best bet to stack up on. For meat they have a lot of options from bacon to pork sausage to chicken sausage. The bacon was alright and the pork sausage was the standard small ones you find just about everywhere; the chicken sausage though was delicious, a nice sweet flavor to it and large. They also have eggs and breakfast potatoes alongside the meat, the eggs being meh and the potatoes being pretty good. The better egg option is the omelette bar which is fantastic. There are probably about 20 different ingredients you can toss into them and it is well worth the wait. Oatmeal is another carb offered and that's self-serve so you can make it how you like. Many different pastries are also available so you can get a fix on your sweet tooth (all were pretty good). Last, for drinks we got chocolate milk, coffee, and juices from their self-serve juice machine. For that we got mango and apple juices. Again, for the price of $30 this is just an unbelievable deal, especially for families looking to get growing kids fed in as quick and convenient a place as possible. The added convenience of it being close to the pool and just downstairs adds another layer to it. While we can only testify to their breakfast buffet this does also look like a great option to take up on their actual menu. An excellent option for a quick, filling meal before exploring all the Disney Springs area has to offer!

For a simple meal for two people, the service was unreasonably slow throughout the evening. Our server, Svet, was polite and personable, but friendliness alone could not make up for the delays. The hummus appetizer was excellent and was easily the highlight of the meal. It was flavorful and served with pita, cucumbers, carrots, and red peppers. The food presentation overall was attractive and showed promise. The most serious issue occurred when my son ordered a refill of his virgin mojito and was served a drink containing alcohol. He immediately noticed something was wrong after taking a sip and handed it to me. I tasted it as well and confirmed that it contained alcohol. Serving alcohol in a child's drink is a significant mistake and should never happen. We also ordered the steak frites based on a recommendation and were told it was exceptional. Unfortunately, the steak was extremely tough and chewy, making it difficult to eat and far from what was described. Management apologized and removed the steak from the bill, but the combination of excessive wait times, the alcohol mix-up involving a minor, and the disappointing entrée left a poor overall impression.
