I don't normally take the time to write reviews, but I've gone back and forth about posting this…read morebecause I genuinely like Paradise Records. It's a great little shop with a solid selection, and up until recently I would have recommended it without hesitation. But something I witnessed this past December has been bothering me ever since, and I can't really ignore it anymore. While I was in the store, I overheard the owner, Dana, refer to another employee--who appeared to be special needs--in a way that was honestly shocking. The exact words were: "look, that's my r****d. I make him do whatever I want." The customer they were speaking to looked visibly uncomfortable, and I was too. I've tried to let it go, especially because I've otherwise had positive experiences here, but it's been sitting with me for months. Not only is that kind of language deeply offensive, but I also have a family member who is special needs, and hearing something like that felt like a slap in the face. I'm not posting this lightly. I still think the shop itself has a lot going for it, which makes this even more disappointing. But respect matters, and I hope this is something that gets seriously reflected on.

Owner Jim is very friendly , I have called and inquired about the event. He replied and left me a very detailed voice message in regard to the details of the event. I was impressed. During the listening party, we had a little chat. He has been in record store business in Napa for 5 plus years, he was in wine making industry previously. This record store is his passion. This current location is inside a newish building, very clean and trendy, with modern bathrooms inside the building. Parking is rather easy, there is public parking lot on the opposite side of the street. The store is kinda hidden but it is very nice. There is a little fountain, a bench on the street that is facing the building, from there you will see a standing sign leading you to the store, when I drive by the first time I couldn't catch it. It's totally cool! am pleasantly surprised when I walk in today. I can imagine during record store day, if there is long line, one can still wait comfortably inside the building. I was waiting for more than 90 mins under the sun for another record store during record store day. Right on Napa will instantly make the waiting experience so much better. Will definitely come back for more in the future. Today, I found "American life" mix show mix EP, a record store day release. I also pre order all the editions that Jim will carry for Confessions II. Will come back next week to pick up. They are all reasonably priced! Jim told me he had hosted multiple listening parties before from Harry Styles to Bruno Mars and many more, as a vetted record store, he has access to these listening parties when record companies are doing promotions. Definitely check this one out. This is in downtown Napa, very chic area with walking distance to all the nice restaurants and hotels. Add this to your itinerary when you visit Napa Valley !

Came for a listening event but left soon after due to basically being ignored. There was trivia taking place so we walked up to ask for a sheet but she just handed us a poster for the event and shooed us away. We sat down to wait thinking there was going to be another activity afterwards but there was not and in the end, they passed out tote bags to participants. I was very excited for these as they were advertised online with purchase but when I asked how I can buy one, she stated "only trivia participants can get a tote." Poor advertising since online it stated tote bag gifted with purchase and they did not follow through. I even asked if there could be any exception since we weren't offered a trivia sheet but nothing. Didn't realize that you couldn't participate in a "listening event" if you didn't show up exactly on time. Even more upsetting is that before we left, we saw her bring the almost full box of tote bags to the back so there were definitely extras.. In addition, as we sat down, we could also see another employee checking in with every other table except us. We were not even offered or given the chance to look at their drinks or food. As a person of color in a very white space, it felt a lot like we were being excluded on purpose. It was not a nice feeling. The space felt very unwelcoming and I hope they don't treat other customers this way. I even browsed in their vinyl section because I didn't want to feel like my trip was an absolute waste, only to find that they had limited music at an upcharged price. Very disappointing.

This time we visit Retroactive because I was in search for some games for my Nintendo DS lite. I found 2 games and I was so happy. The price was reasonable and i love it. We also speak with the owner and he was so nice and helpful. We were talking about games and we notice that he really loves what he is doting his store. We really recommend this store. I am so glad that we have this store near to our home. You can also find vintage vinyl records, PlayStations games, Xbox games and more. We enjoy our time and our kids were so happy.

From vintage gaming to records across all genres, this place has it all and is quickly becoming a Suisun City favorite and Bay Area day trip destination. Retroactive also hosts shows in their space which are a ton of fun and bring the community together. We left with an Xbox storage component to increase the memory of the console. It was a great value at half the cost of what we found at online merchants and we were happy to support a local business. We also couldn't resist the store merch and got a sweatshirt and t-shirt!

The owner, David, is a terrific guy will gladly help you with all of your music needs. He is really knowledgeable. He even sells rock memorabilia, including original 3 day admission tickets to the Woodstock festival in 1969. Check this place out. You won't be disappointed. Easy parking, great neighborhood, and an incredible selection of music.

The shop features vintage vinyl, vintage concert and movie posters and original autographs of everyone from Elvis Presley to jazz greats. This is a completely different popup location to the original store. The original shop closed in the early 2000s, but the original owner of Village Music, John Goddard, is back at it, manning this small pop-up down the alley from Kitchen Sunnyside in Mill Valley. Open weekends only or by appointment only when the owner is away, the shop is dusty, with very narrow, tall aisles packed full of a remarkable collection of vintage vinyl from the 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond.
