The band, Mike Freiley and Lava Bomb, were simply amazing!! Fantastic guitar player. But the service was abysmal. Waited almost an hour to be noticed. Other tables left unserved. We were visiting Dallas and figured Troy's since it is Troy Airman's place would be good. Completely wrong. It took 20 minutes to seat us with clearly open tables available. Our drinks were pitiful and the bartenders need some training. Then our meals they got 1 out of 4 correct. None of them were cooked correctly and all meals were cold. Literally, the worst service I have ever had at a restaurant in my life. Management should be embarrassed by the lack of organization and preparedness that should be a basic concept for a restaurant of that size. Took over 30 minutes to get drinks, never received water in 2 hours, had to ask 6 times for silverware, took 45+ minutes for food. Understaffed. Unprepared. I don't even blame our wait staff. They were put in a losing situation. The sad part is the atmosphere is really great and the food was pretty good once we received it. It was my first time eating brunch at Troy's . It's a nice place looking restaurant. Everybody was very happy and friendly . The manger also was making sure everything was good. I had the chicken & bliss it's presentation was beautiful. The chicken is crispy, sweet and spicy tasted yummy. The thing I did not like was the waffle it tasted like it was old and rubber texture. It was not freshly made . I dId not say anything because everybody was so nice. I just hope they keep an eye on the waffle maker . This review isn't going to be about the food because we never made it to the food. We went in after visiting the Christmas Market. There were 6 of us total 4 adults and two kids. The hostess asked us if a high top table would be okay because there were no short tables available. The place was almost empty?! They were obviously to lazy to push two tables together. They also had plenty of open booths which we were seated at. (Why that wasn't an option upfront I cannot say). We sat there for about 5-7 min and not one person acknowledged us. So we left. Horrible.....arrived for lunch with a large party of 10. Everyone's food came out with the exception of mine. My incorrect order was finally plopped in front of me with not even so much as an apology. Even though I had to wait so long for my order the fries were cold. Almost everyone at the table was finished eating. The turkey burger was mediocre to say the least, total lack of flavor. Will never go back or recommend. Ehh...no big! Really wanted to love this place because Troy Aikman is my favorite Cowboy. Nice bar atmosphere but the music was so loud it was impossible to have any conversation without yelling. Service was super slow. We waited at least 20 mins maybe more just to get our drinks. Our waitress was apologetic and we could tell she was overwhelmed. We had to ask for our appetizer twice. We ordered the buffalo cauliflower which was good. We also had some buffalo wings which were meaty but came out somewhat cold. Not gonna lie probably the most dysfunctional restaurant from an operational standpoint I've seen, I actually only yelp to give positive 5 star reviews but this was rough. We waited about 15 minutes for beers with barely anyone at the restaurant, waiters and waitresses were running food and drinks to the wrong tables. Once we received the food it was just awful, my gf got the fish sandwich and it was cold and there was no taste. Once you bit in the sandwich water just went all over the plate. It's been 20 minutes since we got our food and we are still waiting for silverware and napkins. I'm writing this review solely based on the bee sting wings. THEY ARE THE BOMB!!! I've never had a more robustly flavorful wing in my life. The wings themselves have a generous amount of meat on them, so much so I had 5 and was stuffed. The atmosphere was very laidback. They had a live band playing in between the restaurant and the outdoor patio. We came Friday night and it wasn't very busy, which I think is due to Texas Live still being fairly new. I love me some Troy Aikman, but I should've listened to Yelp. We came in at about 8:30PM on a Saturday night, but it wasn't busy since the Ranger's game hadn't let out yet. Our waitress took our order quickly (you'll probably need to order a burger since there's not much else), and returned with 2 decent blackberry ginger margaritas. Once we got our burgers, there were no napkins or silverware. Our waitress explained they were out of napkins. My husband ordered a 2nd blackberry ginger margarita, and he got something completely different (and nasty)! He politely told the waitress he thought he received the wrong drink, but she said, "Oh the first one had Sprite. Do you want something different?" He said he just wants the same one we ordered the first round, but she came back with the SAME wrong cocktail but this time in a different glass with more ice. She said, "I'm sorry you didn't like it" but never acknowledged it was a completely different drink! Burgers we mediocre. The icing on the cake was that we never got a refill on our waters, and we had to wait about 20 more minutes after our meal to find the waitress to ask her for the check. I couldn't finish it due to how awful it was. They got my order wrong twice. Friends burger had no heat to it. Neither one of us had more than three bites. We expressed our feelings politely about the food and all that was given was "I'm sorry." In the case where we couldn't eat it, something should have been comped. The bartender did make a good vodka martini which is the only reason I'm giving this two stars. Oh! Expect to pay ballpark prices for drinks. Quite possibly some of the best wings I have ever had in my life. But at the same time honestly one of the worst manhattans I've had. Don't come to Texas for Whsikey drinks for cocktails, period. Service was exceptional. Band was very Bradley Banning was great with a mix of covers and original tunes. Unique atmosphere bc it's close to other bars and the stadium. If I could give zero stars, I would. The food was not memorable to warrant any, and the staff was obnoxious enough that I won't return. One of their hostesses seated my family and me on a busy evening, without menus. It's possible that she skipped others the waiting list, and the appearance of no menus led to two other waitresses suggesting that we had seated ourselves and asking us to leave. The servers are laid back. Awesome, except too laid back. In 15 minutes, I visited 2 bars before settling on the one on the patio. The water had a very bad taste. I live 2 miles north. My water tastes great! Something was off. Yes! I notified the bartender. I ordered the Korean BBQ burger. The bun was cold. Not enough kimchi and very little spice to it at all. Basically cole slaw. I ordered medium rare so the beef was still tasty. French fries are basically french fries. Sea salt saves the day of course. The aesthetics is really what wins. As an Arlingtonite, I will save my visits here to come with a group. Otherwise, I will stick with the Grease Burger or Tipsy Oak! Way better food, prices, and service. read more

Well, if u can't already tell, all hopes were dashed. 1st this is not a real restaurant but a bar, which offers food. The place was clean & surrounded by Texas Live excitement. But, the menu online & the menu n house R 2 total different dimensions. The menus had exactly 11 items; that included the appetizers & sides. Thus, the entree section had only 4 choices...N none of what is displayed online. However, if u R looking to have a few drinks the menu is loaded, but the execution of said beverages is poor to say the less. NO BAR TENDER ON SITE, the wait staff tries to but together ur order, n the outcome is horrific to say the most!!! I wouldn't recommend Troy's; but Texas Live is all the way Live!! read more

Ok....I am not here to bash this place and there were some positive things I liked. Unfortunately there just a few more negatives that will probably cause me to not go back. Went for a few hours before this last Sunday night Cowboy's game and you almost must have a reservation, which we did, if you want to be seated quickly. Things did not start out well as soon as we were seated you could tell it was going to stay quite warm in there. We were seated by the doors to the outside, which they stated were required to stay open. Felt the A/C come on a few times but never long enough to make it comfortable. The doors being open also allowed for a lot of bugs to come in, which unfortunately was the case. The food was great however the selections were not quite up to what I expected. Too many odd type dishes for my liking but that is to each ones choice. Would strongly recommend some type of "Game Day" menu to include more traditional foods fans generally like on game day. The server was great and she tried to accommodate us the best she could under the circumstances. Food and beverages were a little pricey, not too mention the 1% adder on the bill. There were 4 of us and we were there for about 3 hours. Food, alcohol, taxes and fee's were about $420...with tip, the entire bill was right at $500. My only other comment is with regards to the number and placement of TV's. There were not near enough of them and they were not positioned to where everyone could see multiple ones while seated in the booth we were in. If they are going to cater to patrons going to football games, they really need to correct this issue. I am an avid Cowboys and Troy A. fan and I hate to have to post this but I am a firm believer in being open and honest. I can only hope that reviews like this will help management in making some changes. read more

I thought the food was good, the price was to be expected for the type of establishment, and the service was friendly, but understaffed. All these things are ok. Was excited to find out troys had some vegetarian options. The buffalo cauliflower wings were great but the vegetarian burger was horrible. I usually can tolerate most foods but I couldn't even eat this at all. The service was very slow also and from what my companions say even the desert wasn't good.
