    French onion soup
    Paul Francis M.

So. We (my grandparents and my aunt) are here for the Warrensburg Town Wide Tag Sale. This is the third year staying here at the Holiday Inn and we've always gone to Mario's for dinner on Saturday night. My aunt and I came down to the bar to watch the Yankees smack around the Twins since the game cannot be shown in our room, my grandparents came down shortly after. Long story short after playing six rounds of trivia we decided to eat in. Three of us started with French Onion Soup. It wasn't terribly hot like it should be but it was nice to dig right in rather than spending five minutes trying to get your first bite in. Broth was tasty and was filling enough where I am happy I didn't order a dinner portion to my meal. Everyone had chicken sandwiches which they enjoyed very much. I had carrot cake which was a mouthwatering bite. Only thing that could make it better would be caramel drizzled on it. Good place for a stay in and grab a bite to eat if you do not want to venture out and deal with parking along with getting overly dressed up.

I enjoyed my large breakfast until I was shamed for taking this much. Mind you it was 11:11 they were going to shut down shop

I haven't had one bad meal here. The servers are fantastic. My family and I don't once a year retreat to the holiday inn, in. Lake George . Rooms immaculate pool, hot tub , sauna perfect. You don't have to leave. Breakfast buffet 12.95 they have it all even a chef on the line who makes you anything you'd like. His omelettes are astounding. He had a great attitude the first day. The second morning I was greeted with indirect jabs that caused a small scene and I became embarrassed (not offended) very loudly saying _ we need to raise the price of the buffet" " You gotta watch out some people will sit here for hours and think it's an all you can eat" Most of the breakfast crowd stared on. I am a big boy I can eat a lot. The day before I left a gracious tip on the table. Besides the unneeded remarks it's a wonderful experience. Maybe he owns the place I don't know. Thank you for letting me share. I will continue go back every year. Home away from homem

I stayed at the Holiday Inn and was able to get Room Service for TR Restaurant. I was so happy and it was really easy to order. It wasn't contact less because you have to sign off of the check for the room, but the delivery person wore a mask and kept her distance. The fries were good and they gave great portions. My boyfriend had the Buffalo chicken wrap. The chicken is breaded like we like. I got to taste some of it , I feel like they would have really good chicken fingers. I got the wings , the Frank's Hot. I only got the wings because it was mentioned on the menu that they were award winning. They taste like regular okay wings. I was expecting something fantastic. They weren't nasty, I think I was just expecting very amazing wings. Besides that , we got a good amount of sauce on and for everything. We will probably order again for room service since it was quick and easy.

This restaurant is located in the hotel. Has nice outdoor indoor seating. Staff is very nice and friendly but food is not that great. I ordered avocado toast and was very disappointed. I am use to have smashed avocado with tomatoes and some other ingredients but it was just cutter avocado and tomato with really tiny two pice of bread. And when I took a bite of avocado it was bad. Home fries served with toast were good but we was party of 7 and non of us was amazed with breakfast food there.

    Soup of the day

The soup of the day taste good except is a little salty. I forgot the name, it has chicken and sausage inside. The salmon taste good too.

Disappointing to say the least. Pictures off trip advisor are very deceiving. Taste freezer burn on the breakfast. Waiter seemed like he was having a bad day .. No introduction or good vibes. Not very attenative .. overlooked brining my drink..which didn't help the first impression. Far from impressed.. don't plan on ever going back

We stayed in a room with 2 queen beds, it was very spacious and clean. There was only two draws to put our clothes so we each only got one. The shower was big, but the water pressure wasn't great. Overall, it was a nice experience and I would recommend staying here. Also there is a roof top which is very nice and has a view of the lack and mountais. You definitely need to check it out.

The room had two king beds, a small miracle for a man accustomed to one, and the soundproofing was a triumph of human engineering. Even with Oktoberfest raging below, once the balcony door was closed the silence was so complete that I could almost hear my own thoughts apologizing for existing. The hotel sits right on Canada Street, which is the main artery of Lake George's little heart. Shepard Park is practically across the street, full of families, music, and the particular chaos of people on vacation trying to have a perfect time. The staff managed to stay cheerful through it all, smiling with the kind of sincerity that must come from good training or good souls. Parking was a game of Tetris, but I was grateful for the garage. Once my car was wedged in, I had no reason to drive again. Everything that mattered was within walking distance. The rooftop terrace deserves a poem, though I am too lazy to write one. The lake spread out below, blue and calm, and for a few minutes I believed in peace on earth. There is no hot tub, which feels like a crime against nature. The patio outside the pool almost begs for one. Imagine sitting there in January, snow falling into the water, steam rising like forgiveness. The restaurant did not thrill me, and the prices made my wallet flinch. Still, it was a fine stay, the kind that makes you feel momentarily better about the human race before the bill arrives to remind you of reality. Four stars. A lovely place, too expensive for what it is, but worth remembering all the same.

We paid our bill without seeing a total nor receipt right on the handheld after seeing our server a total of 3 times in an hour. (Don't worry-- still tipped 25% ;-]) The food was alright. It arrived lukewarm & after food was delivered, our server disappeared for another 30 minutes. Honestly, not the end of the world, just something to consider. The shrimp on my salad was seasoned & cooked wonderfully. The chicken tenders were chicken tenders & the kid's burger was mediocre. The prices reflect the location for sure.

With the Americade motorcycle rally underway in town, it was tough to find seating but the staff made it work for me and the tour group that I was traveling with. It's a nice, rustic-looking restaurant. The manager made the rounds to say Hello to us and he made sure that we were doing okay. In the interest of speed, I ordered a salad bar and the soup of the day which was Goulash. It was very good. The salad bar had everything I could possibly want in a salad and it was replenished regularly. The tuna Mac salad there was awesome. The salad bar is $15 if you don't get an entree or appetizer. Perhaps a little steep but I think it might be all-you-can-eat. As a petite person, I probably don't eat enough. From the window, I had a great view of the outlet stores that Lake George is also famous for. I had to fight to the urge to go shopping. Perhaps another day! We had a slight mix-up with the check for our table but the staff took care of the issue quickly and it wasn't a surprise because the place was really packed. Nevertheless, I thought service was really good. Thanks, The Log Jam. You had a log jam of customers but somehow you made it work. We'll be back.

The location is convenient and feels like part of our ritual now. The staff are almost uniformly kind and welcoming to our kids and us. They remember us, greet us cheerfully and make this feel like a home base. The outdoor hot tub was a particularly welcome amenity on this past brutally cold weekend and it helped us warm up a chill that seemed to go straight to our bones after time outside on the lake. It really is one of those few places that feels like a welcome retreat no matter the weather. If there weren't any flaws, this would be a much easier review to write. But there are flaws, and they are things that should have been tended to long ago. The rooms have definitely seen better days. Many of our dresser drawers barely opened. The refrigerator was hardly cool. Furniture had visible damage and some of the electrical outlets were non-functional or battered to the points that plugs fell right out f them. These are not deal breaking in isolation but taken together they left us feeling that the room was tired and poorly maintained. A little thoughtful maintenance or investment here could go a long way and make the rooms feel a lot more comfortable. Another disappointment this year was the breakfast buffet at TRs Restaurant. In years past it was a highlight and something our kids looked forward to to prepare for a cold morning out. This visit, the quality seemed to have declined and the selection felt smaller. The restaurant itself still has a lovely lake view and a cozy fireplace, and the service was still friendly and attentive, but the breakfast spread did not live up to our memories. So I find myself landing on a three star rating. If you take this place for what it can still be, it is a wonderful family resort with great staff and some truly nice amenities. But right now the condition of the rooms and some of the public areas combined with the breakfast experience hold it back from being the much stronger destination I know it can be. Here is hoping that ownership puts some money back into the property so it can recapture its full potential.

They offered several juices, and an omelet station. Hotel buffets are hit or miss and TR's was a hit. Overall a pleasant stay. I even saw Santa Claus!

The food is solidly average pub fare, not bad and perfectly serviceable, but it shouldn't be your primary objective if you're a foodie hunter like me. But on a main drag littered mostly with mediocre bar-restaurants charging tourist prices for tourist indifference, I'll take "just fine" as a win. I'm not much of a drinker but my husband liked his can of Copper Legend lager so much that he ordered another one to go.
