He immediately took our drink order and came back within 10 minutes to take our food order. We ordered a regular burger with everything with a side of sweet potato fires and they were BOMB! We grabbed dinner tonight at Tru Burger on a bit of a whim. We didn't want to drive too far from the house, especially during rush hour. What a treat! (And neither of us had a burger...although their menu offered a WIDE variety of burger choices.) I had the Chop Chop Chicken Salad and it was outstanding...and huge! My wife had the grilled cheese and onion rings. We topped it all off with a large chocolate chip cookie baked in a pan and served with ice cream on top. Dessert was great, even though we probably should have stopped after completing our meal. The service was terrific with plenty of waitstaff and hosts on hand. This place was recommended to us by my mother in law, and it's so good. The food is absolutely delicious and I recommend the garlic Parmesan fries, because they're fresh everything, fresh cut garlic, fresh parsley, etc. The burger, don't even get me started, I got bacon on mine and it was the best burger/bacon I ever had. I wish my stomach was bigger because the burger is huge! Also I recommend sharing the fries because there's a lot. My husband and I had lunch today at Tru Burger. We were there early and there were not many patrons. When our food came, our burgers were lukewarm. My husband patty melt was all dishelveled and the burger was not placed in the middle of the marble rye, so when it was cut in half he had a 3/4 of the burger on one half and 1/4 on the other. My burger was overcooked with crispy edges and not much flavor. I ordered it med-well. The best part of our meal was the zucchini fries which were hot! Our server did not come back until we were almost done eating to ask how it was. I told him about the heat of the food and he asked if we wanted anything else, which we declined. I'm so excited to try this place! The inside of the restaurant is really nice, clean, and well decorated. Everyone including the staff is super happy! Came for lunch , only because Legends had a wait . Will definitely will not go back or recommend it , we sat at the bar . The bartender was less than friendly , we did choose to eat the bar , what an unpleasant experience ! Our food was mediocre , I made my own burger , and was charged for toppings I ordered and were not on my burger . Next time , if Legends is too busy , I will definitely just wait or go home. I understand it was Spring break , but when a restaurant has no wait and is basically empty , there is a reason for it. Save your money , This was definitely a 60$ lunch let down. Living in Anthem there's really not much going on and we typically go to Phoenix or Scottsdale for drinks. We've been to Tru Burger as a stopover during long walks. This last time we went, early Aug 2018, I ordered an Anthem Sour. Really enjoyed it. I was excited to see the happy hour menu mention "all day Sunday" - wish I took a picture of it and whether it says food only, because I came the following Sunday with my entire family and there was no indication whatsoever of an all day happy hour. In fact I had to ask for a drink menu (or does the fact that I was carrying a baby not make me eligible for drinks???) Anyway, we ordered fried pickles and that seemed to be discounted per "happy hour". I ordered an Anthem Sour and it was regular price. I saw a picture on yelp of a different happy hour schedule. Oh well maybe the happy hour times have changed over a few days :( By the way a few weeks ago (before these last two visits) we had a craving for fried pickles and we typically go to Freddy's but it must be a seasonal item because it's no longer available. I called Tru Burger to place a to-go order, and I swear I thought they were out of business as the phone just kept ringing after trying like 15 times. We stopped by this place for lunch on our way to Sedona on 10/12/22. The food was decent enough but the experience was completely ruined when the bartender closed the window to the outdoor bar counter and sprayed bug killer all around the floor of the bar area. We weren't sure that's what was happening until the fumes reached our table in less than a minute. Fortunately we had already finished our meals and the only thing left to do was to settle the bill. I started to throw up from the poisonous gas and had to run outside and leave my friends to pay the bill, which they did as quickly as possible. Several other tables of guests cleared out within minutes too. All of us were completely shocked at the lack of common sense on the part of the bartender. I have eaten here a few time and have always been impressed. The food is great and the drinks are good. The prices are fair and the place is clean. What really stands out at Truburger in Anthem is the staff. For example, "Amy" today was spectacular. Not only did she fill in for the hostess and the food runner, she was the bartender and waited tables. She did it all and did not miss a beat! Truly. Tru Burger is in a great location but my experience and the food was below average. Went out on a Wednesday evening, ordered salads, burgers, and some appetizers. Salads were average and they granted some special requests which was greatly appreciated. However, it took some time for them to arrive. For me, this doesn't matter because I enjoyed the evening but for others who expect speedy service, you'll be disappointed. Each burger was ordered well done but came out pink. Not red, but pink. Again, to me not a big deal but to others this might be a deal breaker. Overall our server was very nice and attentive but timing was slow. Why you ask? First, service used to be great. Now service is awful. Second, they are always out of something I want to order. Third, stagnant menu. The menu has been the same for 5 years. They do not ever try anything new. I suspect they do not employ a creative, imaginative head chef. And fourth, and most importantly, they cannot cook food properly. Undercooked and raw chicken? If people get upset if the service is slow on a particular night, it's because it is such a popular place. We just stopped in for some quick appetizers for lunch. The zucchini fries are so good, they're my favorite thing to get here. Whenever I come here for dinner I always get the portobello mushroom burger because I'm vegetarian and it's delicious. You can pretty much order any burger and just switch out a meat patty for the portobello mushroom cap. My favorite burger to order with the portobello mushroom is the barbecue burger. The only thing I would critique about this place is the fact that they bring you your fountain drink with a straw already in it. I wish the waiters/waitresses would ask whether you want a straw or not because most of the time I forget to say no straw. I don't get out to anthem much but was in the area last week and was craving a veggie burger so my BF and I decided to check Tru Burger out. The restaurant it pretty cute, small, but I liked it he atmosphere there, I was unsure of what to expect. We were pretty pumped to see fried pickles as an appetizer, I feel like those can be hard to come by sometimes, especially really good ones! They were so tasty, perfect batter to pickle ratio and the house made ranch was the perfect dipping sauce. I was excited to see a build your own veggie burger option. You do have to order fries separately but we didn't try those this time. I got a veggie burger with a whole wheat bun, mixed greens, tomato, onion, avocado, and fresh mozzarella. I also got 3 sauces on the side, honey mustard, jalapeño aioli, and I think red pepper mayo. I thought it was cool to get to try three sauces and not have to pay extra! I was a tad disappointed to see it was just a small morning star burger, kinda wish they would've said so on the menu. I could barely taste the patty with all that bread and veggie but it was still yummy. I especially liked the fresh mozzarella. My BF got a grass fed burger and he absolutely loved it. Disgusting. First we were seated and nobody came to even get our drink order for 20+ minutes. Ordered my burger medium, it came out raw. Not kind of raw, very raw. My ranch had a hair in it too. This place is terrible. Especially for the money. They took my burger back (because it was raw) and they cooked the outside just a little more, just enough to brown it. However, the food took a long time, and when it did arrive, it was not really cooked properly as ordered. My wife ordered a steak medium-well/well, it came medium on the edges and medium rare on the inside. I ordered a burger medium well, came out almost well done on one half and almost rare on the other. We both ordered regular fries; hers were great but mine were almost soggy they were so full of oil and grease, lukewarm too. The vegetables that came with her steak were undercooked and had a slightly funny taste. Our server was friendly and professional, but each time we would see her, she would then disappear for like 15-20 minutes. Not just she wasn't serving us, but we didn't see her anywhere in the restaurant. I didn't ask for a discount or refund or anything, but I also probably wouldn't go back.
