All I can say is that these folks are suspension magicians. I had taken my 2004 BMW 330 ZHP to another shop for an alignment after having the Rear Trail Arm Bushings replaced. That shop shall remain nameless, but it rhymes with "shmirestone." The other shop told me that my vehicle could not be aligned properly and that all adjustments were maxed out. They suggested that I either needed a complete suspension refresh or should investigate whether my vehicle had a bent frame. I'm not a mechanic or any kind of expert, but I knew that simply was not correct. After looking at some recommendations on enthusiast forums, I came across Tru-Line. They are very busy and I did have to schedule 2-3 weeks out, but now I understand why. Within an hour of dropping it off, they had called to let me know that everything was looking great and it would be ready within a couple hours. At pickup, they went over the invoice to review what they did - an alignment, small suspension adjustment, and re-calibrating my steering angle sensor. This past Wednesday was almost a nightmare for me. I live in Covington but drive to downtown Seattle everyday for work. This particular day, I had to drop my wife off at nearby Swedish hospital for her doctor appointment. Mind you, it's 8am in the morning and traffic is almost at a stand still. As I was dropping my wife off, my car gauge was letting me know that my right rear tire was going flat! I was now driving with no air in one tire. I somehow managed to pull over and look up Tru-line. I called and they said I could take my car in. It was only a few blocks and was greeted by one of the mechanics there. Within 10 minutes, he told me that it wasn't repairable and should get two as well. They ordered the tire and was able to put it in that day. I love their demeanor. Excellent work they have done im extremely happy with results, story I had dealer install coilovers when it was done, wheels looked matching but the top of the struts were in different positions drastically on the camber plates, and the alignment sheet was all in red areas with everything being off from eachother, took it to truline issue was fixed top of struts now match, wheels are set right, alignment all in green area, couldnt be more happy dealer wont be doing the alignment anymore, only truline for now on read more

OMG...When did car services give you good honest and decent service at a very fair price? Uhm...this place. I brought my car in after some random kid (and I do mean kid) hit my tire. and totally threw off the alignment. Aaron helped me get all set up with my car. He called about 1 day later and sent an estimate via email to have me look over on my own and initially I knew it was going to be pricey (I drive a german Luxury SUV) but they put everything into the estimate so you can get a clear view of what needs to be in my cars instance replaced due to the accident and they tell you what can wait but may be needed to be replaced in the future (more like a heads up). Aaron went over with me on the phone what needed to be replaced (due to the accident) and what could wait...and my estimate went seriously down. I never felt pressured to get anything that may have been cosmetic or could go for a bit longer replaced right away. He was honest and clear and concise. He told me the timeline from how long the parts would take to order to when the car would actually be done. My car was finished early!!! In a timely fashion and drives perfectly like the accident never ever happened. When I went to go pick up my car the price for the repairs even went down further :) $400.00 cheaper because they were able to use a part that was not damaged. These guys are honest and do great work and even when I harassed them every few days they were still kind and polite and nothing was an issue. This place is awesome. I was having trouble with a flat tire without any inciting incident and they really hooked me up. I was fully expecting service to take forever, and they responded to me in office right away. Not only thought, but I was completely shocked when they didn't charge me at all. I was looking for a good place to do the brakes on my 2005 Mini Cooper S, and decided to rely on Yelp for a good recommendation. Tru-Line was very highly rated so I thought, why not? How nice to see that the opinions were 100% correct! The guys at Tru-Line are phenomenal! I brought in my car, they gave me an estimate within about 15 minutes and it was certainly lower than the Mini dealers. I asked when I should bring it back and they said we can do it right now - should take 90 minutes. Well an hour later, it's done and I'm outta there! This place almost had me do $900 of unnecessary work. I was referred to this place by an oil change mechanic and was really reassured by the Yelp reviews. The good things about this place are that they can get you in quickly, are very polite, and will answer your questions. Maybe it is the hammer-nail problem where the alignment shop finds alignment problems, but they came back after the initial eval with a list of about nine things that needed fixed that would cost nearly a grand. Goggling at the price, I went for a second opinion with another mechanic that I trust. Three of the things in that list from Tru-Line this independent mechanic could not find any evidence of. I can't say what was at work here, whether it was over-conscientious workmanship, incompetence, or an attempt at outright fraud, but I narrowly avoided a huge bill to fix a few things that were not essential and a few things that weren't there at all. The one thing I did choose to get done at Tru-line, they fixed quickly and I haven't had any issues with since. But I really lost my trust in them so it was hard to be happy with the work. A last thing, when I got my receipt back from Tru-Line, it said they had checked my tire pressure and that all my pressures were fine. Turns out that part of the problem I went to them in the first place for was due to under-inflated tires; in other words, my tire pressure was not fine, what was on the receipt was completely incorrect, and they didn't think to check it when they were evaluating my car. Bottom line: this may be a great shop for a tune up of a performance car, but be wary with average maintenance. read more

Fat City told me I had to pay them for parts and labor totaling $550 (he literally said "because we are here for profit"). Glad I did. They performed all services (mount, balance, etc.) on-time and on-budget, and they straightened a bent rim, too. (Plus, they applied a first-time client discount to my invoice!) As I was unable to drop off my car during work hours, I left it there late at night for an appointment the next day--they're busy, so make an appointment in advance--and they worked on it without meeting me. When the work was done, and recognizing that it would be hard for me to pick it up during their normal business hours, an employee offered to come in extra early so that I could pick up my vehicle. This place is the best! I've brought 3 performance oriented cars there, and each time they've asked about my weight, passengers, driving style, and intended use (track, auto-x, high performance street, or just driving around), and given me the best settings for that. Every time the car was transformed better than before. This past time I brought in a car I had put lowering springs on, and they did all the necessary adjustments to get my whacked out suspension in check, even adjusting the rear solid axle I had been told couldn't be adjusted -- they have the proper equipment apparently. I liked the way the car handled before, and absolutely love it now! As Byron told me -- it sure helps to have all the wheels pointing the same direction. Sure does! Also -- I'm not sure what the $225 charge was that was listed below -- my 4 wheel alignment was not even close to that much, and only a little more than the neighborhood shop was -- well worth it I think to deal with people who really know what they are doing and care about it too. Ive been to a lot of shops in Seattle for a car restoration project (Mercedes ML55), and I've thus far never had a bad experience with any of them. But, Tru Line stands out as one of the best. They fitted new shocks on my vehicle and were tasked with diagnosing a weird noise, which they did but did not fix the issue. I called back and they had me in the next day, found the issues and fixed it without charge because that was their original task. Very deserving of their first place ranking on Yelp. A few months back I had a flat; I walked in and back out about 20 minutes later with a patched tire at a very reasonable price. Just a few days ago, my tire pressure light came on. I filled my tire and took it back to them because of the great service. I've been a customer several times at the Bellevue location and decided to give the Seattle location a try. My car has a very modified suspension and I expect the ride to be stiff and bumpy. After hearing several unusual types of knocks, clanks, and squeaks, I had several places check it out when I had general maintenance done. Their answer was always the same- "your car is lowered so it's going to make noises. There is nothing wrong with your suspension." Dissatisfied with the response from other shops I decided to have Truline inspect my car. They told me exactly what was wrong and provided me with a quote for the necessary parts and labor. They even told me that I could probably find the parts online for a cheaper price. Overall, I found Truline provided excellent service, professional staff, and fair price for excellent work. These guys are top notch. It is well worth the drive in traffic from West Seattle. I've only had an alignment from them so far but I can tell they are honest people and they do awesome work. Their prices are probably higher than many shops, but many shops also aren't honest or do the job at all. You get what you pay for at Tru Line that's for sure. I knowingly had seized camber bolts and took to a local shop in west Seattle, and they told me they did an alignment no problem for 90 bucks. Although this is cheaper than what I paid at Tru Line, they didn't even do the full job. Tru Line actually told me the problem and how much it would be to fix it. I'd rather pay more and get the full service than pay less, but still quite a bit of money just to get screwed. I have found my new shop that's for sure. Thank you Tru-Line. read more

I had a great experience with Tru-Line. I had a slug in my tire driving from Bainbridge. I called up and they took me the moment I drove in 15 minutes later. The car was fixed in 25 minutes and I was out. No fuss no muss. My only concern is that none of the workmen are wearing masks. I don't think this is a risk to customers, but it's absolutely a risk to them and the policy - indeed the law -should be complied with at the station. read more
