Decent family run grocery store. Meats and deli are excellent. Produce seems to be hit or miss and on the high end. Good specials and some prepared foods. read more

Fantastic market in the area. All you'll need and amazingly inexpensive prices. It's a meat fest deal on prices, so cheap you have to buy double. My day was made when I found THE GRONK energy drink. I spiked my pineapple that was on sale when I saw it. This grocery store is really a quality store. read more

The staff at this Trucchi's are all well trained, friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. Especially Nancy who works in the mornings. She makes my day! There is a huge difference from the other Trucchi's in Taunton. The staff there make you feel like you're being a pest. They are rude. I would never shop at Trucchi's even if it were the last market on earth. My dear friend that is alone and living in Taunton had a hip replacement this past winter and was unable to accomplish the simplest of tasks, one being, shopping for her groceries. I wanted to a bundle of groceries delivered to her, but due to the restrictions during COVID I contacted the local market where my friend does her grocery shopping. I assumed the reasonable thing to do was to order on line and have delivered. I went to Trucchi's web site to order the groceries and have them delivered, the website was not user friendly, in fact Impossible. I reached out the the main office to speak with management. I called Ann Trucchi to find out why I was unable to use the website to order groceries. I called 5 times because I was told she was out of office or on phone, and that she or someone would return call. I repeated left my contact information. Neither Ann or anyone on the staff could bother to return the call, or to simply say yay Or nay to order the groceries. I was terribly disgusted with the entire process. I used to visit this store often, but since I don't spend as much time in the Taunton area anymore, my visits are far and few between. But this afternoon I was at the Galleria Mall and needed a few groceries so decided to stop at Trucchi's on my way home since I love their meat selection and bakery items. I wasn't disappointed in the meats, I found some great deals, same with the deli and prepared foods to go, take and bake pizza's looked awesome and one of them found its way into my cart. What was supposed to be milk and something to prepare for dinner tomorrow night turned into half a weeks groceries, but that's cool cause the prices are good and they have some great items, unique items you'll only find here like the popcorn. Can't pass that up. and their bakery has a great selection, I can never choose just one item. The employees are friendly as well, the man bringing in carriages is a great asset to this business, he goes out of his way to be friendly to the customers and that made a huge difference because when I left the store I was pretty upset over an incident at the checkout (more on that in a bit) So, as always I found some great deals, lower prices on some items I buy regularly and stocked up on those as well and finally made my way to the register and that's where my shopping experience lost 2 stars. (originally I was only going to give just one, but this store is great otherwise..) the cashier's name was Brendan and he was a complete and total idiot. I doubt it was his first day but there was definitely something wrong there, he rang up my items, bagged some, the bagger bagged some and I ended up grabbing a few items and bagged them myself because the idiot bagger decided it was fine to put shampoo in with a bakery item and then the other bakery item ended up with the meats. I don't think so, I moved to the next register and re-bagged the items the way their supposed to be. A little more training for baggers is in order. Also, a little more training for the cashiers, because when this kid handed me my change, he dropped the coins and handed me the $15 in bills folded together, and since I was still dealing with the bagging fiasco I didn't notice for a minute and then I just saw a $5 and was about to ask for the rest of the change when I saw it on the floor. Proper returning of change would be counting it back into the customers hand, not dropping the coins all over the place and handing the customer some folded bills. Who does that? I was very tempted to go to the service desk and ask to speak with the manager in charge, but it was getting late, I didn't want to have to deal with anyone else in that store and I was way too mad to deal with them. Hopefully this will be read and I will contact them this week. So I'll say shop here, because of the prices and quality.. but unless they install self checkouts, I may consider doing my shopping elsewhere.. oh and the cake from the bakery was so stale, I needed a steak knife to cut it. This is my supermarket of choice. I said my first word in here so this place is special to me. Because the store is on the small side, the selection is limited to the store brand (don't worry it tastes good) and 1-4 name brands for each item. If Trucchi's does not have it, Market Basket will (most of the time). The Bakery and Meat Department is tiny but, they still have the good stuff. To clarify: Trucchi's is big by Suffolk County standards but small by Bristol County standards. If you hate the crowds and long lines (the main drawback to Market Basket), this is the store for you. And you would be supporting local business! I do not understand why the they needed to renovate the store again. The circa 2000 renovation was was beautiful. That said it is still the best looking supermarket in the area, other than the other Trucchi's. The changes from the old version of the store are: 1. You don't need to wait at the Deli for hot food anymore. They have a great Mac and Cheese. 2. The beer and wine section (this store is old enough to be grandfathered in when the Massachusetts law stating the supermarkets can't sell booze went into effect) has increased. Way more wine then beer. There is an unaffiliated liquor store across the street but, that store seems to be closed more often then it is open. I am a teetotaler so this does not effect me in any way. 3. They make there own rice cakes and popcorn in the store and you can see them make it if you shop early enough. 4. They have a "café." That means a bunch of tables and chairs. A misstep in my opinion. However the stone masonry is a nice touch. 5. The Dairy Department is now twice the size. 6. The rest rooms are now between the checkout area and the beer and wine section in the front of the store. In the past you had to go into the "Employees Only" area. 7. The Produce Department is now on the other side of the store, in front of the Main Entrance. 8. The Bakery is no longer in the front corner of the store. It is next to the Deli. It now half the size it once was. Another misstep in my opinion. 9. There is a new Olive Bar. 10. The Hot Soup Section is now bigger. 11. Frozen Food, which was in the middle of the store, is now in the front of the store, where the bakery and produce was. 12. Items in the Grocery Department have been moved about. Grab, and keep, the store directory. 13. No notable changes to the Meat Department, Seafood Department, and Deli. 14. The Cheese department is gone. 15. The store itself is the same size. Prices are reasonable and are between Shop and Shop and Market Basket. The loss of a star comes from the employees in the parking lot. Yes I understand that you are to help me out but if I say that I am all set and I will put the cart back in its proper place, I mean it. The guy just stood there while I put stuff in my car. While he was standing there there was a little old lady who could barely walk on the other side of the parking lot. She would most definitely take your help. Prioritize who you help people! I never had a problem with the employees inside the store. read more

this place is a dump it smells awful, its expensive and the produce looks like they play baseball with it in the back.
