stopped by to pump $30 dollars in my gf's car heading back to town but the pump wasn't working for some reason and didn't get any gas AT ALL. I told the guy to see if he can switch me to different pump and maybe use the same $30 dollars i put in but I had to pay another $30 which didn't make sense. He said the money will go back into my account in 2-3 business days and yet haven't received a penny. Can't even call the place cause their phone is out of service. read more

The station is fine, the gas is fine the price is a major rip off. I have been going to Tahoe for over 20-years. The price differential between the peninsula and Tahoe was always around $0.60-0.80 per gallon more, even at this station. Now is $2.00/gal more!!! read more

No pay at the pump. You have to go inside. They charge your card for the exact amount you want to put in. Hoses aren't long enough to fill from either side of your car so you have to turn your car around which resets the pump. No way for the station to give back the money they pre charged. You have to start over and pay another $18. Here's how you can improve. Put signs up that say one way only, hoses are not long enough to reach either side of the car. Most importantly, if you do make a mistake by pulling up to the pump on the wrong side which necessitates turning your car around, the gas pump resets itself and you no longer get gas you pre paid for from that pump. This should have been told to us when we were forced to pay inside. Truckee is a quaint little town in the middle of the Sierra Nevada mountains full of tourists, with only 2 gas stations. Probably why they can charge $6.00+ per gallon and not refund your money when you can't pump the gas. What a racket. Letting our credit card company fight it out. Hope people read this before getting ripped off. read more

Nicest gas station I've encountered in years. Gas is pricey but everything is super clean. The bathrooms look like they belong in a nice restaurant instead of being inside the gas station! They also maintain the bug wiping solution fresh, blue and clean. read more

They helped my son pick cable chains for his car. They were the wrong size. So my son goes back to return the chains. The station refuses to give a refund or store credit. The chains were brand new. Also, the lady at the register was extremely rude to him. Worst customer service. Intentionally taking advantage of young people going to the snow for the first time. TLDR station chooses and sells to my son snow chains too large for his car and refuses to take them back and refund his money. read more

I like this gas station. I always come in the morning for my coffee and in the evenings for my beer. Coffee is always fresh and ready to go. Maria has a great personality. The evening girls I deal with are such a crack up. It's great to come in to a place and feel welcomed. The manage is also very friendly. She was stocking the beer and I told her if she could get in modelo watermelon. She said she would put in on order for me. I told her if she didn't she would owe me a beer. She laughed and said you got a deal. I told her I was kidding. It's always so clean also. Don't get me started on the bathrooms. Best I've encountered. Always smells fresh. I'm leaving back to Sacramento for the summer and I wanted to say thank you for having such a great crew and store. I'll be back in a few month and hope to see everyone again. read more

Close off the freeway, large overhead roof, good sized convenience store, more parking by the dirt or snow depending on the weather closer to McDonald's side, not a small dinky gas station. If you walk past the dirt and weeds and dry bushes you'll see a river that you can walk up to the water. Might not want to go alone in case someone's hiding in the bushes. We've been here when there's snow and let our dog walk around and been here when the snow melted and it was dirt. Easy to get back on the freeway. read more

I wanna start off by saying I'm very disappointed in the executive decisions made at this location. I've always gotten my gas here for years but frankly I don't think I will anymore. As of writing this review we are dealing with the COVID-19 virus and while they have made good steps to keep things clean, one has been outright ignored. Germ shield last help significantly in transferring this virus. Today I asked the Cashier how come they don't have any (when many other locations do) she said the main office doesn't want to put them in. I find this extremely irresponsible for an essential location such as a gas station. Hopefully thing change soon. For their sake. Edit: I heard recently they have installed germ shields now, (a whole month since my review) while I'm glad to see upper management now understanding how important these things are, I just hope they will continue to understand we can't be so careless in the future. I'll add 2 stars for two germ shields installed. Stay safe everyone! read more

I have always come to this Shell because I could earn my rewards when I buy gas and snacks. But I realized something today when the girl rang up my purchase that she forced the computer to move on with out accepting my fuel rewards card. I then looked back at a weeks worth of receipts to find all the clerks this week and last did this to me . So I did not get my fuel points on over $300 in purchase and I have been coming here for over three years now and spend over $1200 a month in gas. I am so mad I will not spend money here again! Beware to those stopping to buy here they lie and say you can earn your rewards here but they cancel or abort the request before you slide your arm so you won't get credit. This place is robbing their customers by making them think they are earning points read more

When it's 7 am and you have a four hour drive ahead of you to SF and you're thinking you might need gas, you probably do. I have been guilty of stopping here first to throw in $20 into the tank to get me through to Sacto (where it is often much cheaper), then heading over to the oh so convenient but oh so bad McDonald's next door. The big overhang helps to keep you from getting snowed on and like others, there's a bit of land I can take my dog too for a break if he needs it. I have never had any interactions with any humans here, so I can't comment on that. read more

Cheaper than the Donner Pass Shell since it's not right off the freeway but that's not saying much. Don't hit this up unless you're running on fumes. Otherwise hit up the one in Kingvale a few miles west of town before heading in/on your way out. read more

I liked this Shell. Seemed pretty new and it was clean. Didn't hit up the toilets so don't know that status. They didn't have my favorite Energy drink but they had a decent selection. Perfect place to hit up if you have the munchies or a 5 hour drive ahead of you. read more

Oh their toilets happen to be "broken." But they have some lovely porta-potties. Gas is a solid $1/ gallon more than down the hill.

Good expensive Tahoe gas with a nice overhang to keep you out of the snow while you are pumping gas. The bathrooms are marginally clean and the selection in the store is above average for after riding snacks. read more

Stopped in to fill up on the way to Reno, store was very clean and organized, went to buy a small fountain drink and when I got to the counter the guy said " is that it, just the drink?" I said yes and he told me it was on the house. I know it was a small thing but it made my day, I know this place will now be my official fuel stop on my next trip to Reno. read more

Very poor customer service, and by poor I should say nonexistent. I just wanted to check the pressure in my tire. I went to the cashier who was nice at first and gave me a gauge to check the pressure. I went back to her to ask her to turn on the air machine, there were 5 or 6 customers in line. I just had one question which was to turn on the machine. She mumbled something, I asked her nicely to repeat. She was rude and told me she was talking to another customer. Actually she was not as the customer in question was just punching her code for her debit card in the machine with her head down. I look at other customers who were astonished at such a poor reaction. I work in customer service too, it happens quite frequently that two customers ask me a question at the same time. Do I sent one to hell while I take care of the other one? No I tell one of them that I will be with them very shortly. I will make sure I do not stop to this gas station anymore in the future. read more
