Everything seemed fine--until the flood of disjointed communications began. First, I received an automated email (sent via PatientFusion.com, not Flatiron Dermatology) confirming the appointment. Then came an SMS from an unfamiliar sender labeled "Kathleen MDPC," which initially seemed like a scam. Over the next few days, I was bombarded with reminders about a $75 no-show fee and a 4% processing fee for non-cash payments almost double of Amex Visa Master charges venders, given that standard card processing fees are far lower about 1.4 to 2.4%. I confirmed my appointment via text, assuming that would suffice. But the clinic wasn't done. Another SMS arrived, followed by an email directing me to a poorly designed Uptox.com portal to input my medical history. The site looked unprofessional,  i am skeptical to submit my record there and the process was needlessly convoluted. Worse, when I received yet another email--this time demanding I "confirm" again via a no-reply address I realized their system was as disorganized as it was invasive. Frustrated, I attempted to provide constructive feedback, only to discover there was no direct way to contact the clinic. Every email I'd received was from an unmonitored bot, and their website offered no clear "Contact Us" option. After some digging, I managed to send my concerns--only to receive a dismissive reply explaining their processes (without apology) before abruptly canceling my appointment, suggesting I find a practice "more aligned with my expectations." The sheer lack of accountability was astounding. I wasn't asking for a "state-of-the-art" experience but at minimum just a coherent, patient-friendly process. Instead, I encountered layers of unnecessary communication mostly about panalty of no show and defensiveness when criticized. Medical expertise doesn't excuse administrative incompetence, and a little humility. Maybe somewhere on the line to show some care and ask for the purpose of my visit, after all i am just a patient looking for help but instead all the messages had taught me if I ghost them I will be paying and their detail of their payment system is 4%.

If you have bad acne I'd recommend pushing for topical or oral treatment before doing any chemical peels, lasers etc (very expensive and don't seem to treat the underlying acne long term but do your own research). The reception has been a poor experience most times I call, which is a real shame that makes the experience frustrating with this clinic often. I would recommend Garland though if dealing with acne!

My first visit I asked about a dermaplaning experience that I had done somewhere else that left me in pain and Dr. Gross's reaction increased my anxiety and basically increased how scared I was. On my second visit I was left waiting in the exam room 45 minutes after my appointment time and no one ever informed me what was going on at any point. I had to get home and told them that then. Eventually Dr. Gross came in. I got my Botox and fillers. The Botox went fine. The fillers were an experience I hadn't encountered before and this wasn't the first time I had them. I had questions but I don't think Dr. Gross wanted to help. For the next few weeks my face was burning. The office wanted me to come back so he could see what was wrong but there was and is no way I would go back. The LED face mask really did make a difference on some scars though.

Much more reassuring. If the medication is not covered by your health insurance, Sherry would try to work around it making it cost less. Next visit is in may. Have to schedule two weeks in advance. To summarize, Garland Lee, PA, has been treating my blemish over about a month and I can't say enough praise but to write here. The right treatment, superb communication, great office, staff, scheduling, billing, everything has worked out just right. Their honesty, clarity, being clear about billing, and overall thoughtful make this practice a high recommend. To be fair, minor downsides are waiting 10-20mins/visit (they're very busy, get there on time or, better, 15m ahead of time especially on the 1st visit to process the intake paperwork which recurs each time until insurance is successfully billed), not always getting the doctor, not just Dr. Sherry Shieh who's on long term medical leave her many fellow doctors make for confident treatment and knowledge. I know dermatology is either optional or deferrable, but not only did my situation show how preventive care not just emergency treatment can save pain, emotions, time, and money, but the professional standards of the doctors here have made me respect and follow their dermatological medical advice. This whole experience has been nothing but frustration, I wish I never would have been referred to this office. EDIT: Tattoo removal is not like other procedures as there is less of a guarantee that it will actually work. As I was already advised that the tattoo was at the "best it's going to look" by other professionals, why would I take the chance and gamble $335 that you may say the same thing? I was just trying to get a consultation, not a scam ($335 is exorbitant). He was able to remove all of these blemishes without any scarring. I also have some skin issues on my arms which he prescribes some creams for. I see some other people have concerns with billing, but I have not had any issues because my insurance covered all of my medical issues and lab work we have done. I suppose others should double check their insurance coverage / deductibles / max out of pocket for the year.
