If you're looking for quality skincare based on this review, you won't find it here--because my appointment was canceled before I even had the chance to experience their care. Here's why: Last Tuesday, I called Flatiron Dermatology and spoke to a courteous representative who scheduled me for an appointment the following Thursday. Everything seemed fine--until the flood of disjointed communications began. First, I received an automated email (sent via PatientFusion.com, not Flatiron Dermatology) confirming the appointment. Then came an SMS from an unfamiliar sender labeled "Kathleen MDPC," which initially seemed like a scam. Over the next few days, I was bombarded with reminders about a $75 no-show fee and a 4% processing fee for non-cash payments almost double of Amex Visa Master charges venders, given that standard card processing fees are far lower about 1.4 to 2.4%. I confirmed my appointment via text, assuming that would suffice. But the clinic wasn't done. Another SMS arrived, followed by an email directing me to a poorly designed Uptox.com portal to input my medical history. The site looked unprofessional,  i am skeptical to submit my record there and the process was needlessly convoluted. Worse, when I received yet another email--this time demanding I "confirm" again via a no-reply address I realized their system was as disorganized as it was invasive. Frustrated, I attempted to provide constructive feedback, only to discover there was no direct way to contact the clinic. Every email I'd received was from an unmonitored bot, and their website offered no clear "Contact Us" option. After some digging, I managed to send my concerns--only to receive a dismissive reply explaining their processes (without apology) before abruptly canceling my appointment, suggesting I find a practice "more aligned with my expectations." The sheer lack of accountability was astounding. I wasn't asking for a "state-of-the-art" experience but at minimum just a coherent, patient-friendly process. Instead, I encountered layers of unnecessary communication mostly about panalty of no show and defensiveness when criticized. Medical expertise doesn't excuse administrative incompetence, and a little humility. Maybe somewhere on the line to show some care and ask for the purpose of my visit, after all i am just a patient looking for help but instead all the messages had taught me if I ghost them I will be paying and their detail of their payment system is 4%. read more

Garland Lee is good and really helped me with my acne. However the services are expensive and every question/ refill requires a check up (full price) so make sure you cover all bases in the initial appointment so you know what you're in for. If you have bad acne I'd recommend pushing for topical or oral treatment before doing any chemical peels, lasers etc (very expensive and don't seem to treat the underlying acne long term but do your own research). The reception has been a poor experience most times I call, which is a real shame that makes the experience frustrating with this clinic often. I would recommend Garland though if dealing with acne! read more

Now charging 4% surcharge to copay if paying with credit card. I am changing dermatologists. I've never found them to be that great anyway. Just convenient location. Salty front desk staff too. They appear to always wake up on the wrong side of the bed. read more

I've been a patient here for more than 6 years and cannot recommend them enough. Nick Solarino, the PA, is the best dermatology I've ever had and a true master in the field. The front desk tends to place you on hold frequently, but don't let that hold you back. They're busy because of how great the care is. read more

I found Nicholas Solarino at a very low point. I was having a very painful medical issue and had seen 5 other doctors in 2 months. Nick is the only one who not only helped me, he helped me right away in the first appointment because he knew how much pain I was in. Since this initial introduction, he has helped me with basic skincare, laser hair removal, skin checks for moles, and I'm sure the list will continue. He is polite, friendly, prompt, thorough, a good listener, and dedicated. Every interaction I've had with the front-staff has been very pleasant! I like that you get an email reminder the day before your appointment. I would recommend this office to anyone! read more

Convenient, quality care. Pleasant service providers including clerical staff, physicians, & technicians that have assisted in my individual treatment plan. Easy access to care via online FaceTime visits with well known physicians in NYC. Both hybrid & in-office visits available. Only complaint would be access to their system's patient portal. Not very efficient in connecting with provider &/or accessing information. However, they do utilize a partner pharmacy that delivers my prescriptions for free right to my door. read more

I've seen many dermatologists in my lifetime and I'm sure many can relate -- I get into the habit of going and then once I'm "cured", I stop going. I found Dr. Nick on a whim for an annual skin screening. This was my first actual screening in which I had to have 2 moles removed. On top of this small procedure, I have always struggled with sensitive skin/acne. Every time I go for a check-up he gives me free samples to try from an apothecary delivery company in the city. Since my first visit, my skin is clearer than ever. Office is clean, and staff is friendly as well. Super simple to get a prescription here, as the apothecary provider delivers to your home! Had a keloid from a nose piercing and saw Cody about 4/5 times trying to get rid of it with steroid injections. He was so pleasant every time especially for it being 9am. He made sure I was comfortable and answered any questions I had and had a great sense of humor. He was very honest up front of the possibility of having to remove the piercing if the keloid did not go away, but the keloid went away! He was also very helpful when it came to getting prescriptions that were very pricey and not covered by my insurance. Even though I went specifically for the keloid removal, he still answered questions I had about other skin care needs like sunscreen and dark spots. The rest of the staff are also very friendly and the office is very clean. There was little to no waiting time. read more

I love this place. For the first time in forever, I felt like a dermatologist took my complaints seriously. The bedside manner was great and I love the staff. I recommend them! I am a doctor of chiropractic and I often see skin conditions that need to be addressed. I am extremely selective about who I refer my patients to. Many of my patients have been to Flatiron Dermatology and they have all received excellent care. I have been personally treated by Nicholas Solarino. He is extremely knowledgeable and has excellent bedside manner. I trust him implicitly. It is without hesitation that I recommend the care at Flatiron Dermatology. Finally found a thorough dermatologist in NYC! I saw one of the PAs on staff, Dr. Nick, and he was pretty thorough with his examination of a chronic skin infection I've had for about 8 years. He provided me with new medication I've never been given by any other doctor before. The office aesthetic is fresh, modern, and clean. Plus they have tons of free samples of top quality products on site so take what you need. The only downside is the wait time but there are only three doctors who work in this office so I get it. Overall pleased with my visit. Would definitely recommend this spot. read more

I've been going to this office (previously their office was on 12th Street) for over two years. I had an on-going issue that required a series of appointments prior to the actual procedure. At the first appointment in late July, I scheduled all of the upcoming appointments, including the procedure (scheduled for August 17, 2016). I did this as I was told the doctor was going on vacation and this would be the last day to have the procedure scheduled in August. On the afternoon of Tuesday, August 16, 2016, I received a reminder call about my appointment on Wednesday (the next day). I confirmed it. At approximately 12:30 pm on Wednesday, August 17, 2016, I received a call from the office informing me that 1) the doctor had surgery that ran longer than expected in the morning, 2) that she was tired, and 3) that my afternoon appointment would be cancelled. I indicated how unprofessional this was and my displeasure in being reminded the day before and then the doctor cancelling my appointment without the decency to even call me personally... especially when I've been previously told that she was going on vacation. They finally said that the other doctor could do the procedure, even though I had been told time and time again that she was the only doctor who could do the procedure (I asked about the other doctor doing it as I would have rather had my doctor do all the appointments). I was told by the reception desk that one of the doctors would call me and this never happened. When I requested to have my records transferred, I asked that I be notified when it was completed - this also never happened. I had to follow-up twice to ensure that the records were transferred. Dr. Vine is really great and I really appreciated all of her bedside manner and professionalism. Dr. Anne Dacko is the doctor that cancelled the appointment. Routine waits of over 30 minutes were common. In one case, I waited over 1 hour for my appointment. read more

I had a cyst excused from my scalp by Dr. Ciocon about a month ago. The process was quick, and although it's in an area where it's hidden by hair, I feel like he did a pretty neat job with the stitches, etc. It's healed nice and flat. I had a second one done just now, and again, very quick with little fuss. I would recommend him highly. The only downside is the young doctor who assisted him on both occasions. I'm not sure whether she is innocently clueless or just blatantly inconsiderate, but I hope the former. The first surgery she applied an adhesive-backed paper sheet firmly to the back of my head, which needed to be ripped off after the procedure, tearing off a bunch of my long hair along with it. On the second occasion there was more blood than the first, and she "cleaned" my scalp by not just dabbing, but dumping, about half a bottle of hydrogen peroxide in my hair without asking, then told me I can shower in 24 hours. A woman in particular could be reasonably expected to understand that peroxide bleaches hair and that it's kind of insensitive to pour it on someone's head. Anyway, end rant. I continue to really like Nick Solarino, the PA, who is awesome for routine derm stuff. read more

I brought my teenage son to see Dr. Garland Lee here. She was the only dermatologist who actually solved his acne. She also properly diagnosed other issues that other doctors had failed to notice. She is sweet and kind and works so well with teenagers- I'm sure all kids. I am thankful that she was so diligent and helpful. She was a true joy to work with. I called MULTIPLE times and either no one picked up, or I was repeatedly left on hold for extended periods until I lost hope and hung up. I don't feel like working this hard to spend money at someone's business--if this is how badly they treat prospective patients, I wonder how badly they treat you once you've given them your credit card. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Kathleen Vine and Nicholas Solarino, M.S., RPA-C for over 2 years and could not be happier. Most of the time, my appointment is with Nick, and he is just the best ever in my opinion. I have many "beauty marks" as my mother calls them, and Nick monitored them in order to determine which should be removed for biopsy, and which could stay. The process was pain free and minimally invasive (hooray to NOT feeling like a slice of Swiss cheese after the procedure). Nick will not only keep your skin healthy but will further help to preserve your beauty in so many ways. Oh, and he's a ninja with a cortisone shot, and always enters with a smile.
