Still recovering but the doctor Gloria Lin only spoke about the scars I'll have and did nothing to assure me they would try to minimize scarring. 1 week later I come to get stitches removed and the person that did it left a few in. I had to come back to the office and they told me to come earlier than 4pm if I can. Then the new person at the desk tells me my appointment is at 4:20." And there is nothing she can and she's not the one that told me to come early. This is a dermatology factory. In and out, poor bedside manner and no one takes responsibility for the service. Made an appointment here to discuss acne scaring and I was very clear what my appointment was for upon scheduling. After waiting in the reception for over 45mins after my appointment time and filling out no less than 10pages of documents for the office, I was told my appointment was considered cosmetic and would be fully out of pocket. Account # CB019MQ18-99203-20220202 Hi there, I received a letter from Wakefield & Associates (debt collection agency) regarding a fraudulent bill from Schweiger Dermatology. I would like to dispute the entire bill of $73.93. For context, while I booked an appointment at Schweiger Dermatology for February 02, 2022, their system never registered my appointment. When I showed up there was no doctor available to see me nor any slots available. I was asked to wait in an empty room for over an hour, after which an employee came in, handed me a generic pamphlet and subsequently discharged me within 1-2 minutes. He did not speak to me about any of my medical concerns and was also not the doctor whom I had specifically booked an appointment with. For all I know, he was likely not a licensed medical professional. On my way out, I reported this incident to Schweiger Dermatology, upon which they suggested they would be open to me being rescheduled with a competent medical professional at a future date i.e. the same original gentleman I had booked the appointment with . Considering they wasted my entire day, I declined their offer. Subsequently, I received a bill of $250.00, which I disputed in its entirety. Two years later, I received an adjusted bill from Schweiger for $73.93. I called their billing department for an explanation and was passed on to some offshore personnel (likely based in the Philippines or Mexico), who admitted that Schweiger messed up my original appointment and hence is presenting to me a revised lowered bill. I disputed the bill again as I didn't get any benefit from the appointment and in fact, it was a complete waste of my day and time for which I should be charging Schweiger. In addition Schweiger team also fraudulently billed my insurance company. The billing personnel claimed that (1) she understands the issue at hand but does not have the prerequisite training or authority to deal with this situation, (2) does not have access to a supervisor nor (3) is able to provide me with the contact for the lead person in charge of billing and customer service. Keeping in view the above, I would once again like to dispute this bill in its entirety. Yelp asks me to rate your team and minimally requires me to put 1 Star, although your team doesn't even deserve that. read more

In December 2021, my son saw Kendra Joseph to remove a wart or some kind of growth from his knee. She put a couple of thin bandages on it and by the time we got to Union Square - only about 4 blocks away - he was gushing blood. We ran into the CVS on 14th Street where he bled all over the aisles and I frantically ran around trying to find the most absorbent bandages I could. (Which cost a small fortune, btw.) A lovely clerk helped me stanch the bleeding and we left. PS it's now five months later and he has a nasty scar where Joseph removed the whatever-it-was. So basically he's scarred for life. We really should sue them but life's too short. Bottom line: Schweiger should not entrust these kinds of procedures to people who are underqualified. I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen an actual MD in various Schweiger offices. Thumbs down. We're not going back. read more

Awful communication at this office. I had an annual skin screening and the PA told me I could get 3 moles removed per visit covered by insurance so I did, then got slapped with a $1300 bill. I also filled out in my forms I was pregnant, told the assistant I was pregnant when she was getting me ready, then I just happen to confirm with the PA the numbing medication she was about to administer was pregnancy safe and she said no, and said she had no idea I was pregnant!! Truly a sinking feeling realizing the breakdown in critical medical communication on top of being misled with billing by her. She even told me to come back next month to remove the next 3 moles, I will never return and be finding a new more capable derm office. read more

Dr. Gloria Lin has been one of the few doctors overall across different specialties that I'm glad to have found. She set me up with a simple prescription and routine and in under a year my skin was looking better than it ever had before. Nothing was working for me. Everything over the years was burning me, drying me out, creating bigger problems, etc. I was very upset with my appearance and what felt like my inability to "fix" my skin. Everything has been so simple and easy since I started coming to Schweiger Dermatology and seeing Dr. Lin. The staff there are all so helpful, honest, real, and overall great to be around. I've only had a bit of a wait time a few visits, but always had my concerns met and answered clearly and concisely. Also, get your yearly skin exams! It's likely covered by insurance, quick and easy, and very important to catching something serious early on. I had really stubborn acne and hyperpigmentation. Now, I can go weeks without using a prescription and still maintain clear, healthy skin. It's very rare that I'll break out now. If I do, it's one to two small bumps and normally triggered by PMDD stress. Where it took weeks for blemishes to disappear, it's gone in under a week. In one to two days now if I dab on a bit of a prescribed retinol. Definitely try this doctor out! read more

I can't say enough great things about Dr. Haleh Stratton! She is incredibly kind and always a joy to visit. She takes the time to ensure my skin stays clear and glowing while thoroughly answering all of my questions. I always leave the office feeling well cared for. Receptionist was very friendly but that was about it. The provider Dr. Joseph was supposed to give me a full skin exam as this was my first time at a dermatologist. She asked me why I was there and I told her about one concern but aside from that she didn't perform the exam and I left feeling like it was a waste of a co-pay. I have to admit, I'm not the type to consider fancy skin products or procedures and I was pretty skeptical coming to such a swanky place... but I was desperate. I had an emergency with a full body rash that I'd never experienced before and I needed an appointment asap. I was nervous seeing the PA because I wasn't sure what that meant and if I would get the medical expertise I might need... I was in a lot of pain, I hadn't slept, it's a pandemic, I had to travel further from my home than anticipated... clearly a recipe for disaster. Imagine my surprise when I was met with exceptional customer service, a relaxing but covid safe environment, relatively easy access from the subway, and a place my insurance approves of! Most importantly, Nicolle and her assistant were AMAZING. Being delirious from pain and lack of sleep, I spent hours googling what could be wrong with me and had all sorts of questions. These women were nurturing, kind, sympathetic, and knowledgeable. Everyone I interacted with gave me a little extra time so I didn't feel rushed. And the medical plan has worked wonders. To be honest, I thought my rash was a food allergy but Nicolle gently pushed me to consider life style changes that might have given me a contact allergy. Once my body felt better from her medical treatment plan, I realized she was exactly right and have since discovered the culprit. Please consider this group for your medical needs, not just cosmetic. It may seem counterintuitive that a place with such high budget marketing can offer a small town, personal medical experience... but I assure you that is exactly the kind of care I needed and received. They are irresponsible and unprofessional, not calling with results that you have something contagious, putting people at risk. I would never recommend them. I still have not received a promised phone call from any doctors there. My own doctor (Dr. Jamal) never called with the results, despite many, many calls from me to follow up - I never received any return phone calls. And the office manager (who is not a doctor) tried to give medical advice. Do not use them. read more

I have been going to Schweiger Dermatology for about a year now, for recurring issues. I have always had top-notch experiences with staff and the doctors. Today I saw Kendra, one of the PAs. Kendra was on time, she took the time to discuss my problems, and we came up with a good care plan. I thought she was very personable and professional, and I felt that I received excellent care and attention. The front office has been rearranged a bit for social distancing, and all of the staff and patients were masked up and compliant. Everything is sanitized, which made me feel safe. I highly recommend this office and the doctors. I don't know why there are so many negative reviews here, because I don't see it. read more

Came in for an appt receptionist was rude and once I got their and the appt was already booked and confirmed they told me that I needed a referral from the doctor. Which there would be no way for me to get that over the phone without missing the appt. There is a representative that call you the day before the appt. My insurance information was already sent in and verified therefore the rep that confirmed the appt should have known there needed to be a referral on file since I booked the appt without any indication that one was needed nor did the list of next steps from the dr stated that one was needed. read more

Have been here twice for annual skin cancer screenings.  The doctors are thorough.  They and all the staff always make it an easy, comfortable process.  Appointments are on time and it's a very convenient storefront location.  No wandering through huge buildings looking for the right office. This year, I had to have a couple of biopsies.  the samples were taking quickly and painlessly.  I was given medicine to apply to help heal the areas.  I was told I'd get a call with results in 2 weeks.  And the call came exactly 2 weeks later.  That is really good when you have health concerns. read more

The worst run doctor's office in history. Impossible to get anyone on the phone - the telephone number routes you to a call center which cannot answer a single question and constantly tells you they are emailing the doctor's office so that they give you a call directly which (surprise) never happens. Totally impersonal experience, everyone is so disconnected from the patients and the only person you will ever have any contact with is the unhelpful call center. It's easy to get a same day appointment but the bad care and reputation is probably why. read more

Absolutely, at all costs, DO NOT use this practice. After a year of waiting, I finally received insurance and went in to have a dicey mole removed. The PA told me that it looked weird (indeed!) and that she would "biopsy" it. Before she said anything further, it was removed. The removal spot, within days, became infected. I called and received an antibiotic cream, which didn't matter anyway, because the mole was basal cell carcinoma and I had to have more skin removed. This was to be done by a Dr. Scott Hammerman, whom one should avoid at all costs. This "minor" procedure was, indeed, major surgery -- surgery that was not explained to me. It was done because of the likelihood of the cancer's return, according to the website of Memorial Sloan Kettering. Hammerman did not numb my back enough, performed the surgery in an unsterile environment in his office and left me with 12 stitches. No pain management. When I asked for something for the pain I knew would follow, I was treated like a drug seeker. I have had stitches before and have always received medication. When I returned to the clinic after days of itchy, burning pain, Hammerman and his awful assistant, Kendra, told me to go to the Emergency Room. The doctor at Mt. Sinai who treated me said this was a "refusal to treat" that should be brought to the NYS Board of Medicine. Two months later, the scar still had not healed. I booked another appointment with a different practitioner. Dr. Jodi Grossfeld came in and said the scar "looked great", but when I told her the problem, she said the "dissolvable" stitches sometimes don't dissolve. I told her that I think the aide, Kendra, did not remove all of the "non-dissolvable" stitches two weeks after surgery, and turns out, as expected, I had three embedded in my back. Dr. Grossfeld removed them and deferred the problem, saying she did not know Dr. Hammerman. Overall, the staff at Schweiger dismiss you, deny your concerns and defer the problem elsewhere. For all of this "care", my insurance was billed about $8,000: $2,000 for the removal, $6,000 for the surgery, and even $110 for the pain management visit. If people stop patronizing this practice, maybe it will wake up. So far, no luck. The NYS Board of Medicine is looking better every day. read more

Dr. Hammerman May have the worse manners I have ever experienced. I have been at this location to see Dr. Grossfield who is a pleasure to see and is always respectful and patient. Now back to Dr. Hammerman. I schedule my appt at 12 noon and arrived at 11:55am as it says on the door do not enter until 5 minute to your appointment. I waited until 12:45pm to be called into the room and had a woman walk-in be seen before me, mind you she didn't have insurance either they had to look up what she had to make sure first before being seen. I patiently waited and only ask at about 12:25 if I would be seen soon because after all I made a 12noon appt. When I get in the room I wait another 10 minutes which thought was strange, come to find out Doctor Hammerman is just sitting at a desk computer right in front of my room. So simply ask are you dr. Hammerman. He replied rudely yes, you have to wait or you can r/s. Like what so rude with attitude I didn't even question him was just curious who and where my doctor was if not him. Once let him know well I have been sitting here for another 10min I had 12 noon appt he just keep saying you can R/s. Told him like to be seen today. Now when he see me because we had little interaction he was very off putting and rude although i was on time and respectful whole time. He rushes through then says if you need to follow up dr. Grossfield available in mid July. Like implying I won't help you again and he didn't even know what to diagnosis me with, saying should take a biopsy then saying not necessary. Not sure he knows what he doing but even if he does his unprofessionalism is horrible, I saw the reviews before hat clearly call him out but figure give him a chance! But after today I recommend stay away. I should of known when he was the only Doctor not booked up until Mid July early August. All in all I go to another Doctor who shows they care and have knowledge! read more

I recently went to their Exton PA location to have them look at a couple of warts, which they proceeded to try to remove with a freeze spray (did not work well) that took a total of about 5 minutes. I subsequently received a patient due bill for $130! They billed my insurance $800 for "Destruct Premalg Lesion". Beware and always make sure you ask upfront what your out of pocket $ will cost before any medical procedure! I also gave them my medicare card as back up and they tried to bill them even more, but it was declined. I bought a can of the spray at CVS for a few $$ and finished the job myself! As one other poster said they are like a puppy mill! These types of procedures are ones you can handle on your own and are a huge money maker for Derm practices! Remember that regardless of whose paying, it always comes out of the patients pocket in the long run for over charging your insurance or the government! read more

I came to Dr. Kaydi with a godawful coffee burn. She had excellent bedside manner and was able to recommend a good scar gel for me. (BioCorneum, in case you're wondering!) I paid a $40 co-pay. She asked me to come back a couple months later, so that she could take a look at my burn. All she said was that it looked great. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Upon leaving, I asked the receptionist if he needed anything from me, and he said no. Now their billing department is calling about an unpaid balance -- but when I called the office about it, they said I didn't owe anything! I might as well have sent Kaydi a selfie and a thumbs up. I get laser done here. Dr. Jamal is great, bedside manner is amazing. The staff in the back are nice. But here are the issues I'm having. They have tried on multiple occasions to double charge me. Keep a copy of your receipt after you pay, they will bill you for the same services you already paid for. SNEAKY. Their wait time is insane, I shouldn't have to sit and wait 1:30-2hrs after my apt to be seen. There's no order of who gets seen. It's all dependent on the receptionist. So sad. read more

Kendra Joseph was incredibly rude during my visit. Her bedside manner was alarming, and made me feel stupid during my consultation. She kept asking me "do you understand" after she was explaining things to me in a condescending manner, and then rolled her eyes at me and showed visible frustration when I said I didn't and decided to get my medication sent to my local pharmacy (they have their own pharmacy set up) Outside of the recommendations, I came out of the derm's office feeling defeated and down due to a really rude experience. The appt was fine but I am appalled that I had a preventative office visit under my insurance plan and over a year later I have received a notice from a collection agency. Not sure why this place has somewhat poor ratings but whatever. I went today bc I had a skin emergency that I couldn't fix. I am an Esthetician and having a skin boo boo that I couldn't fix was super problematic. I found this place via Yelp. I was very nervous but gave it a go. The office is located in a very easy area to get to; Flatiron. I saw a nurse first (as routine) and she was a peach! After that I saw Brittany; her demeanor and everything was very professional but totally warm vibe! She made me feel super comfortable and wasn't one bit rude/condescending which is the usual "attitude" from Dermatologists (idk why lol). She didn't get one bit annoyed with my 100 questions either (lol.) I loved Brittany. She knew I was paying out of pocket so did me a solid and looked for a sample for my skin problem. Making an appointment was easy and I like how they automatically send you an invite for your appointment, along with the option of receiving text message notifications. I don't recommend this office for billing reasons (as others have mentioned). I was given a price for my appointment from the front desk woman after giving her my insurance information and then was charged 4x more. The response from the manager and billing staff was, "We never would have said that," as if I was lying. They were rude, took no ownership of their mistake and incompetent staff, and basically told me I was making things up. This practice is awful. I went in originally for a condition that was quite serious in my opinion. They didn't seem to care much when I went in and felt rushed all the times I went in after that as this was something that took a few treatments. I just kept with them because they knew my condition and it was the first place I went. Whatever. Then last night I had an appointment for 7:10 pm. I also had accidentally scheduled one for the following day as well. So I called to cancel yesterday and thought it was all fine but it turns out they cancelled the wrong one. So after walking 30 minutes in the pouring rain, I arrived for my appointment for them to tell me that it was cancelled by accident. Made it seem like they didn't care that it was completely their fault? This condition has been painful and annoying so the fact they didn't care really sucked. They said they would check if they could fit me in. Then after they asked I waited for 15 min for the front desk girl to check a bunch of people out before she called me up just to tell me that in fact they couldn't take me there were too many appointments. Figured they would try to move stuff around as I told them the one the following day wouldn't work anymore as I had to travel for work. As I go to leave I see one of the physicians leaving as well so apparently it was more important for someone to get out of work instead of helping me out with this painful issue. Definitely will be switching to a different dermatologist after this. I would avoid this place at all costs. The purpose of my visit was an urgent rash that has spread up my leg. Dr. Jamal didn't know what it was so took a biopsy then said she'd prescribe me a cream to start using immediately to help the rash. I went to my CVS and it was never called in, called twice more to have an urgent message put in to remind her to call in the prescription. I waited an hour in CVS hoping it would get called in! I finally left and now it's been 24hrs since my appointment and 5 calls later, and STILL no one has called in the prescription! What is the point of seeing the doctor if they won't call in the necessary prescription? How careless can you be? I could've been 2 doses in by now. Absolutely ridiculous. Don't go here if you need anything whatsoever after you pay them, like a PRESCRIPTION or customer service. After reading all the reviews in possible billing scams, I'm now worried that the biopsy may not have been necessary (I've never heard of needing one for a rash) and now I'll get charged an arm and a leg on my credit card on file... read more
