I enjoyed my time at True Food Kitchen with my family. We got hummus and the garden scramble to start and it was both very delicious and fresh. I also had their jasmine green tea which was very potent in flavor and smell. For entrees we got salmon, the panini, Korean noodle bowl and one of their burgers. Personally, I did not find the panini or salmon to be the most flavorful of dishes- however, the other ones were quite tasty. We finished off our meal with the cookies and ice cream as well as a spiked mango lassi. Overall, we really liked True Kitchen. There was friendly service- it is quite pricey however, given the quality of the food, it is understandable. Would come again. read more

The food was quite good, however the manager did not listen to me regarding my allergies. I cannot eat shiitake mushrooms. I asked the waiter if he could talk to the chefs and tell me what type of mushroom was in the tuna dish since the menu did not specify. He said that it had portobello mushroom so I went ahead and ordered it, however, when I received my food, it had shiitake mushrooms. I did took a bite to check, and I knew immediately it was shiitake and I spit it out. I told the waiter(who was very kind and helpful), and he brought the manager over. The manager told me that the recipe used portobello mushrooms, and didn't listen when I told him that the kitchen might have accidentally put shiitake mushrooms in my dish instead. This was further confirmed when I had a bad allergic reaction accompanied by severe diarrhea that lasted for 35 minutes shortly after leaving the restaurant. Everybody makes mistakes, I just wish the manager would have accepted the possibility and moved on from there instead of responding so rudely :(. read more

Went there the other day for Lunch. Our food selections were very good, however our drinks were less then optimal.. Ordered Apple Lemonade and wanted a refill. refill came and it was 1/2 the size (quantity) as the original glass. Checked my bill and realized not only did they charge for the second Apple Lemonade , they charged me the same price as first drink and gave me 50% less on the second one. Horrible ... I would never go to this place again. I ordered a kale salad with chicken on it. It costed me more than $20 and no exaggeration there wasn't even 8 ounces of kale in the container. I don't know if my review could do this place justice but I will try my best! I cannot begin to explain what an amazing experience we had at True Food Kitchen in Edison! It was our first time there but will certainly NOT be our last! From the moment we were greeted until we walked out the door the service was absolutely incredible! Our server was so kind, patient and informative about the menu since there was so much that was new for us to try. Throughout our dinner countless team members came by to check on us, see how our experience was, drop off our food, etc. Everyone was so welcoming and truly cared about how you were experiencing the restaurant. Even as we were leaving and walking past the bar area the server in the back took a moment to wish us a good evening! It is a level of service I have yet to come by and it has me wanting to go back immediately. Now for the food because that's what you're probably here to know more about lol! Well let me tell you it was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! The options were so intricate and different and every single dish was delicious! They were considerate of the food allergies at our table and happy to answer questions on any menu items we were unsure of! I highly recommend the Burrata and Hummus if you visit! They should offer different seltzer flavors for soda drinkers. The Brussel Sprouts in all forms are delicious. The flour less chocolate cake is amazing. Nice, new, clean restaurant. I had a Korean Noodle Bowl for lunch and my wife had a salad. The taste of the sauce on my noodles was far too strong and overwhelming, while the size of the entree was small for the price. The sauce certainly needed to be diluted down (or had more noodles for the same quantity of sauce). My wife liked her salad, but remarked that the lettuce on her chopped salad wasn't chopped while the other ingredients were; strange. The price was somewhat high for what we ordered. The service was attentive and excellent. Overall, not bad, but no reason for us to plan a return visit. read more

Nice place with decent food - however work is needed. Arrived with a reservation and was offered smallest table in center of emptyish room. Had to ask for a booth. Multiple items we ordered arrived cold - muffins taste better when warm - were icy and had to send them back. Latte was 1/2 hour on the table cold. Sent it back. All entries were lukewarm but tasted good. Side with the tacos was tasteless - hot sauce didn't help. Also little things like succulents on table were almost dead since no one was watering them. Waiters were really nice but untrained - had to ask for plates for muffins, sugar for coffee and asked for small bills with change but didn't get any so we could divide bill. I've never sent anything back in years so was very disappointed so many things were not acceptable. read more

I had the two egg's breakfast which I liked, but I wasn't too crazy with the chicken sausage. Personally, I didn't like the season, but I do recommend to try it at least. I did order a latte which I didn't like at all. It was bitter, I tasted only a shot of espresso as opposed of having a balance. So I exchanged it for chamomile tea and honey which was good. Our waitress was sweet and helpful! We both liked her and how attentive she was. My friend and I shared the Quinoa strawberry pancakes; which was our absolute favorite thing!! I hope it remains on the menu. I just wish they had more options for brunch. Overall the place is nice, a lot of space and they have an outdoor setting space. We didn't feel rushed, our waitress allowed us to enjoy our food and catch up with each other. Overall I would return, I would try their lunch or dinner menu. read more
