Omg!!! Yes this restaurant is amazing, it is so cute and very well put together. Everything is fresh its a scratch kitchen so things are made then and there. I got the lettuce burger with sweet potatoe fries, and this yummy kale salad thats a healthier version of a cesear salad and it was so tasty. The burger was really juicy and the kale salad tasted lemony and fresh. The sweet potatoes added a good kick to the meal. Overall, the lettuce burger meal was well put together. The drinks are really good. I got this citrus skinny margarita and it tasted so freshly squeezed. The food is really healthy and the service is great. True Food was a good experience overall. I tried the teriyaki bowl with shrimp which was SO good & my friend tried the squash flatbread. I tried a piece and it was fantastic. We both had a matcha horchata latte and loved how the matcha & horchata paired together. The food itself was wonderful. Unfortunately, our service was just ok. Our waiter was a bit absent and brought us our check before asking if we would like anything else or dessert. Terrible experience! I pre-ordered curbside pickup over 24 hours in advance ($200 order). Food was not ready at my requested time and I had to go into the restaurant TWICE, in 15 min...from curbside, to ultimately pick up my order. It was for a lunch meeting with an MD group. Once I got the food to my meeting, they had not included an item that I ordered and paid for. Worst of all, the apology was very condescending and not at all accountable - I was stared at with a grin, as though I had done something wrong. This particular location is located in the heart of the shops at Legacy West in Plano, TX. Parking should be plentiful and the Legacy West layout follows the trend of combining retail, dining, residential, office, and hotel spaces in one centralized location. During my recent trip to Plano, we decided to have a weekday lunch here. We chose to dine outside and they have slick setup with overhead fans and heat lamps to cover all of the seasons. On this particular sunny day in December, it was in the comfortable high 60's. I went with the Turkey Burger and a side kale salad. The Turkey Burger was made with smashed avocado, organic tomato, butter lettuce, smoked gouda, jalapeno remoulade, on a flaxseed bun. I thoroughly enjoyed this Turkey burger and I would happily re-order this dish here as it is now a go-to favorite for me. This is a great spot if you're looking for some fresh food options. They have many gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options that actually tastes great! They have a patio area which is nice to sit at and enjoy your meal. We started with the jackfruit lettuce wraps to start which is a Korean-style marinated jackfruit with shiitake, cilantro, bean sprouts, cucumber, and a side of fresh butter lettuce to wrap it all up in. The jackfruit was super meaty and flavorful and it was a delicious appetizer to start with. We also ordered the edamame guacamole which was very delicious. Can't go wrong with either option! For my main entree, I ordered the turkey burger with a side of the sweet potato hash and kale salad. The portions were very big and filling so if you're looking for a heartier meal, this is a great option. The burger was cooked well and the sides were delicious. For dessert, we ordered the seasonal squash pie, which is vegan. If you have a chance to order, do it. It was so good and had the perfect amount of sweetness and tasted very similar to pumpkin pie. They do switch their menu out by season so be sure to go quick if you want to try out their fall/winter menu. Overall, they have great and healthy options here. The restaurant is very modern with some places greenery giving it a more earthy look - fitting right in with their menu and style. 3. As I have never been to True Food and was invited for a birthday brunch, I scoured the menu beforehand. The brunch menu I certainly was more enticing to me than their normal menu. It's very vegetarian friendly. Organically sourced kind of thing. We had a reservation for 11am and was only able to be seated if at least 2 people from the party arrived (pretty standard). WHAT WE ORDERED: - crustless quiche: the BEST thing on the brunch menu. Topped with arugula and jalapeños it comes in a personal little tin and you don't miss the crust at all. Comes hot! 5/5 - apple cinnamon coffee cake: it was delicious considering it was maybe made without flour? It was very thin/flat - missing the fluffiness from a real coffee cake. 4/5 - breakfast sandwich: was more like a burger using burger buns instead of a sandwich. Missed opportunity of using focaccia or ciabatta bread. Lots of large tomato slices and somewhat bland. Came with a massive side of fingerling roasted potatoes (dry). 3/5 - side of 1 blueberry pancake: nice drop of blueberry compote on top of pancake the size of the plate! Definitely a great breakfast side. 5/5 - avocado toast: lots of greens served on the side and topped nicely. Definitely the most visually appealing dishes but the sourdough toast was slightly burnt to the point where it was hard to bite into. 3/5 - side of round turkey sausage: good flavor, not sure if it's the bang for your buck. 3/5 - lemon ricotta muffin: smaller sized muffin and felt like it was missing something (like blueberries! Missed opportunity). But, it had a good flavor profile. 4/5 - egg scramble: came with roasted Brussels sprouts and sweet potato. A very loaded dish but feels like it's missing a ham or bacon. This is definitely vegetarian friendly. 4/5 DRINKS: Grapefruit mimosa: tangy and not too sweet. Small glass flute. 4/5 kale aide: freshly done, strong ginger flavor, too much ice. 4/5 Coffee Latte: strong, not sweet AT ALL. I love that but if you're not, I'd pass on this. Not sure where to begin. My wife and I have been here before and love the place but something has happened. It started with a dirty wine glass. Even before they poured my wine, I had to send the waiter back for a clean glass. Smudges and lip prints? GROSS! Second, ordered a starter of charred cauliflower, came out cold and one of the two app plates they gave us had food stuck to it. Third, Wife ordered a salad with added protein of tofu. Salad showed up no tofu! Fourth, we decided to cut our loses and order another glass of wine. Wine is served in a mini carafe and poured in glass upon arrival. The carafe was dirty and it appeared there were dead fruit flies inside the carafe. I checked the first carafe and sure enough it had crap stuck to the inside as well. Each step along the way we notified our waiter who was very very apologetic. Manager came out and comped our meal which we didn't eat. Place needs a health inspector. I order the side of chicken and pizza to go. When I got my order, there was a fly trapped inside the chicken to go box, flying around. I actually am repulsed. My first time here was amazing. The minimalist atmosphere really did it for me. I was a little weary on the food but I left full and satisfied! I personally had the grass fed burger and it was top notch! It was my first time trying jackfruit and that was really good as well! It had the texture of mushrooms but tastes like some soft chicken. This restaurant is horrible. After my last visit many months ago that was terrible and I was promised a $25 gift card that never came, I decided to order delivery. Big mistake! Delicious! The decor was modern and clean. It was super spacious here and really cozy feeling. Tables not super close together for once. Our waitress was friendly and got the drinks and food out. I'm a fan of Andrew Weil and his anti-inflammatory cooking, I'm not sure how much influence he has today on True Food's menu but most of the options on their menu seems fairly healthy. I like that so many of their dishes has several different veggies and that they print on the menu how many calories that there is in each dish. We went for lunch in the middle of the week and I had never been. I was surprised that there was a 20 minute wait on a Tuesday for lunch but they gave us the option to eat at the bar which worked out great. There were so many options that sounded good. I really like the fact that they have great options both for meat eaters and for vegetarians. Usually the vegetarian and vegan options are terrible at most restaurants but not so here. We didn't have much time for lunch so I just went for the spicy panang curry bowl with chicken. There wasn't a long wait for the food to come out. It also came with some kind of rice with good seasoning. It was a very good dish! It was spicy enough without being overpowering. It had several different type of veggies. The chicken was also cooked perfectly. I probably didn't need to finish the whole meal but it was so good that I couldn't stop. This restaurant definitely seem to be 5 star worthy, I will have to try some other dishes and get the full table experience before I'm willing to give a solid 5. Service was sorely lacking. 20 min after we ordered food, our server came and told my friend" sorry we don't have the squash casserole anymore. Please pick another item". So my friend picked lasagna. 20 min later the food came and two servers came by. One put squash casserole down in front of my friend and said, " we still have the casserole so here you go but we will also give you lasagna and take it off your check". Guess what, 25 min later I asked our server, "where's the lasagna? We never got it". She replied, "that order was cancelled" I was like ???? I didn't ask her who cancelled it, but nobody in my party asked for cancellation. You told a customer that we would get free food and backed tracked ? She didn't even have courtesy to tell us?? Until we asked for it? We didn't want to talk anymore so we left. She came over twice during our meal and asked if everything's ok, we said ok. At the end of dinner I realized, hey everyone's water had never been refilled and she never offered to refill our water. During the meal, I asked her to refill my iced tea. The server never said anything. Until our meal was over, I realized she just ignored my request and never came by to refill my tea. If the refill wasn't free, she should have told me upfront it's not free. But noooooo she didn't say anything and just ignored my presence. They serve alchohol but they don't have sodas, they're main focal point is being healthy so they don't have sodas which i'm fine with, BUT they have alchohol which if you don't know is a lot worse than soda I wish this place to burn to the ground I want you to ask yourself is it okay that they don't have soda (yes it is completely normal) but is it normal for them to serve alchohol, when i ask why don't you guys have soda they say "cause it's unhealthy gang" but they have the alchohol makes no sense. read more
