We walked into the Shops at Legacy Cava at 12:30 on a Saturday and were surprised it was so empty. We got in line behind three guys who looked impatient and quickly left looking defeated. We noticed that no one was behind the counter - not a soul. The grill was sizzling unattended and we stood there wondering if someone had passed out in the back or something. Just when I was considering launching a search and rescue effort, a gal emerged from the back. Her vacant and emotionless eyes were unapologetic for her absence. In fact, she said zero words and just stared at us. We began to order a kids meal for my son, but I've never had a kids meal at Cava so I asked what it came with. With no words, she slowly handed me a card that had some kind of equation of ingredients on it. I was looking for a basic "one meat, two sides and a drink" response but instead I got the awkward stare. My husband looked at me as I tried to decipher this card. He said, let's just leave. We said nevermind and walked over to True Food where our waiter was a very pleasant 20yo (so there is hope for this generation!). Downright awful experience, the place is dirty and servers are rude. Don't even think about coming in to pick up your take out order if you are carrying a small dog in your hands whose feet never touch the floor. You will be rudely told to leave and to pay attention to the signs on the door that says no dogs allowed. Be prepared to be yelled at as you're leaving as if yelling in your face wasn't enough. It's set up like many line serving restaurants but they offer "healthier" options. I got one of their select bowls that included a lot of delicious add ins. This is our 2nd issue with this place in the last two months. The first time we ordered it was $58 for my wife and my two bowls and they only delivered one bowl & wouldn't give us a refund just simply said I could come in and get a bowl. Tonight we decided to give it another try, my bowl was $28 I ordered double steak. When I tell you I've got 7 pieces of steak and the tiniest bowl you could imagine. This is utterly ridiculous. I wasn't super happy about having to wait an additional 20 minutes after arriving before my food was ready, but when I got home to eat my food, it was so good, I couldn't even be mad. I came with my family and we each built our own bowls, and the staff were super friendly and patient with us and looked up what dressings/toppings were vegan. There are so many options for healthy greens, grains, protein, veggies, and sauces, and you can always customize things half and half! Only tip would be if you're looking for more volume, I would NOT get the falafels or meatballs because they are small, and they only give you 4 (or a measly 2 if you do half the serving) for the entire bowl. I've given this place plenty of chances and it's time we part ways. A few things: - unorganized and slow even with me being the only person in line - food portions are inconsistent and very stingy lately - the bowl is half full (1 table spoon of rice?) - salad is moldy - check before you move to the next station if the leaves are brown.. - dirty inside and half the machines are broken - tables don't get cleaned often - staff looks lazy and doesn't want to be there (if they're holding you against your will, please tell us!!) - almost forgot: DO NOT order online for pick up, they will most certainly mess it up. Every. Single. Time. This seems to be an issue at every single cava location I've been to so don't bother hoping for a better experience elsewhere. They will definitely let you down.
