Came here on a date night and we were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is that of a modern space just opened, with a very polished aesthetic. It's a smaller place, could probably seat 15 parties comfortably. But everything felt very new and clean. Bf and I each got a plate. Mine was lamb chops with grape leaves and Arabic salad with garlic sauce. I found everything I received very very good, including for value, and especially the lamb chops themselves. Easily plenty of food for ~$20 and all the sides were bright and flavorful, the pita was soft and warm, the garlic sauce was good if not a bit strong, and the chops were well seasoned and cooked. I'd say they were definitely a bit understaffed, but we didn't wait too incredibly long for any service. I'll also note that we definitely noticed a lot of families while there and they were very accommodating to young children. We will be back! read more

Olive Roots offers generous portions and the food was packaged really well for delivery. Everything arrived neat and intact, which I appreciate when ordering through DoorDash. The rice was really nice, and the hummus and baba ganoush were both tasty. The steak and chicken were a little dry, and overall the dishes could have used a bit more salt and seasoning. It felt like the food just needed a little extra flair to really shine. I accidentally ordered the kebab plate, which included lamb, and I personally don't prefer lamb, so that part was on me. The young guy working there was also very nice, which I appreciated. There are some good deals on DoorDash, and with the portion sizes it can be a good value if you're looking for a quick Mediterranean-style meal. I stopped by here while in Dallas and just wanted a light meal and this hit the spot. They are very clean and minimalist inside with cool little lamps on the tables if you want more light, which I did, so it was perfect. The falafel was hot and delicious, made fresh! The minute I cut it open all the steam came out! Hot, crispy, and perfectly seasoned. The lentil soup was amazing. The server told us it was seasonal so get it while you can! The hummus was the only thing that didn't wow; I would give it a 3/5, the hummus lacked flavor and the beef was kind of dry. The hot tea was just Lipton with some mint but it did the job, I just wanted something warm to drink. The main entree was perfect. The chicken was flavorful and moist, the rice was really good, and the cucumber yogurt was so good I put it on everything. And for all that I only spent $38!!! Really cute place with nice vibe. Kind of a mix of sit down dining and fast casual. Atmosphere is like a restaurant but menu is more casual. Service is fast and they seem to have a lot of take out orders. Our table ordered various plates. I ordered the lamb plate. I was a disappointed, lamb was a little tough and gamey. My friends ordered the beef and very happy with it. The plates come with meat, rice, 2 sides, sauce, and pita bread. The Arabic salad was recommended and was a nice fresh accompaniment to the meat and rice. I also ordered the hummus and my sauce choice was the garlic sauce. Simple. Affordable. Tasty! Went to olive roots and was pleasantly surprised at how much food they gave for the price! I had the kefta with rice, baba ganoush, and tabouleh. The sides were fantastic, absolutely handsome down the best baba ganoush I have ever had. Solid tabouleh too, I used to make it all the time when I was younger and this rivaled mine. the kefta was gamey tasting from the ground lamb mixed in it and I didnt particularly like it. We had falafel as an appetizer and my husband got the kefta , shrimp, and lamb kebab plate with rice, spicy hummus, and an Arabic salad which was basically tomatoes and cucumber. He loved it all. The falafel was really good, nice and crispy on the outside but tender and soft inside. Dipped in Tahiti or hummus and it was truly perfect. The ambiance is casual. We went in a large group and service was excellent. We all were really impressed with the food. Quantity is good and quality is excellent. Everything we tried, from sides and appetizers to kababs was super tasty. Only thing I wish for is they would allow adding more toppings to the bowls, it is kind of dry with just the rice and tiny bit of sauce that it comes with. The inside is gorgeous, and the service is straightforward. The food took a bit of time, but just enough to tell it was made fresh. We were craving Mediterranean food and this place was close to where we were at in The Colony. Place is in a strip mall. Very blue with nice seating. The menu is the perfect size, not too much but enough to choose from. We ordered the pickled turnips, the beef shawarma hummus and a 2 mix and 3 mix plate. With an extra chicken kabob and side of rice for our kids. We had so much food for our family of four we made a second meal for dinner. Portion sizes are hefty and we could've easily split a 3 mix plate between my husband and I. The rice is super delicious, the chicken kabobs we super juicy with great flavor. The beef kefta was good per my husband and the lamb and beef kababs were good as well. The pickled turnips were fabulous. Loved the hummus and the garlic sauce. The cucumber yogurt was tasty but I would've liked more salt and lemon. Definitely a nice find. read more

Just an overall bad experience. We came in and no staff came out for about 5 minutes...just as we were walking out, a guy pops out saying he was helping out in the back. Cool we sit down and order our food. It took almost a half an hour for our food to come out. We ordered a couple chicken kebab bowls, plates, and a chicken schwarma wrap. We were so hungry that we fought through the fact that ALL the chicken was overcooked and charred so much that none of the pieces were juicy. What makes it worst, we were the only customers there (Friday around 5pm) so no excuses or reasons why our food was over cooked other than disrespect! read more

The food is Lebanese/Jordan and it's one of the best Mediterranean places we've been to in the DFW area. Got the 3 mix kebab platter, the steak kebab was tender and juicy. The chicken was welllllll seasoned and grilled to perfection. The last one was a ground beef/lamb one was good but not amazing. Heard the table next to us gush about the lamb chops, that's what I'll probably get next time. Wife got the felafel, she loved it says it's some of the best she's had. This unassuming little restaurant in a strip shopping center is seriously one of the best Mediterranean restaurants I have ever found, and that includes Israel, Cyprus, Lebanon and the rest of the world. Over the top? Try it and see! We had the beef kabob plate with red cabbage salad, the Arabic salad, cauliflower and hummus. The beef was perfect, on the level of a steakhouse. In fact, every single dish was some of the best I've ever had, and the prices are very reasonable. It's probably about 50 miles from where we live, but I'm already planning a return trip! read more

All of them were amazing....fresh garlic in the Babaganosh, chunky cucumbers in the yoghurt dip, tangy NOT soggy tabbouleh and crunchy, well seasoned falafel balls. 100% satisfied. Just got home from enjoying my first meal at Olive Root and I'll definitely be going back (regularly). Food: I had the falafel plate with a side of cucumber yogurt and spicy hummus. The serving is enough for 2-3 meals! Everything tasted wonderful. My friend tried the mixed shawarama plate and enjoyed her combo as well. I was surprised when I didn't see tzatziki on the menu but the cucumber yogurt was similar in flavor just prepared differently. Because it's served as a side, you get a much more generous serving. The pita was fresh and the rice was fantastic! I can't wait to try more of the menu. Service: Staff was kind and attentive without being intrusive. Atmosphere: The interior is chic but comfortable. It's not a huge dining area but they also offer delivery. We learned the restaurant could be rented out for private parties and they also do catering. Tonight was my first time here and it exceeded my expectations. I had the 2 mixed kabobs with chicken and lamb. I picked the Arabic salad and the red cabbage salad for my sides. It was all so good!
