We decided to meet up with coworkers present and past here to catch up and I'm so glad we did. The service was fantastic! He was very helpful and nice. We ordered babagnoush and shawarma fries for apps and both were 10 out of 10. Then we got bowls and plates and more fries for our entrees and all of them were 10 out of 10. The only disappointing thing was the baklava. It was more like a tart but still the taste was good so 7 out of 10. The coffee was 10 out of 10. We will definitely make the trip out again to eat here.

Olive Roots offers generous portions and the food was packaged really well for delivery. Everything arrived neat and intact, which I appreciate when ordering through DoorDash. The rice was really nice, and the hummus and baba ganoush were both tasty. The steak and chicken were a little dry, and overall the dishes could have used a bit more salt and seasoning. It felt like the food just needed a little extra flair to really shine. I accidentally ordered the kebab plate, which included lamb, and I personally don't prefer lamb, so that part was on me. The young guy working there was also very nice, which I appreciated. There are some good deals on DoorDash, and with the portion sizes it can be a good value if you're looking for a quick Mediterranean-style meal. The lentil soup was nice but again needed some more depth of flavor. The falafel was good but I like falafel that is a bit rounder and flatter.

I stopped by here while in Dallas and just wanted a light meal and this hit the spot. They are very clean and minimalist inside with cool little lamps on the tables if you want more light, which I did, so it was perfect. The falafel was hot and delicious, made fresh! The minute I cut it open all the steam came out! Hot, crispy, and perfectly seasoned. The lentil soup was amazing. The server told us it was seasonal so get it while you can! The hummus was the only thing that didn't wow; I would give it a 3/5, the hummus lacked flavor and the beef was kind of dry. The hot tea was just Lipton with some mint but it did the job, I just wanted something warm to drink. The main entree was perfect. The chicken was flavorful and moist, the rice was really good, and the cucumber yogurt was so good I put it on everything. And for all that I only spent $38!!! Great food, great prices, great service.

Really cute place with nice vibe. Kind of a mix of sit down dining and fast casual. Atmosphere is like a restaurant but menu is more casual. Service is fast and they seem to have a lot of take out orders. Our table ordered various plates. I ordered the lamb plate. I was a disappointed, lamb was a little tough and gamey. My friends ordered the beef and very happy with it. The plates come with meat, rice, 2 sides, sauce, and pita bread. The Arabic salad was recommended and was a nice fresh accompaniment to the meat and rice. I also ordered the hummus and my sauce choice was the garlic sauce. It was good but be warned, the garlic is strong! Not for first dates! Pita was soft and chewy.

Kefta plate, 3 kebab plate with shrimp, lamb, kefta

Simple. Affordable. Tasty! Went to olive roots and was pleasantly surprised at how much food they gave for the price! I had the kefta with rice, baba ganoush, and tabouleh. The sides were fantastic, absolutely handsome down the best baba ganoush I have ever had. Solid tabouleh too, I used to make it all the time when I was younger and this rivaled mine. the kefta was gamey tasting from the ground lamb mixed in it and I didnt particularly like it. We had falafel as an appetizer and my husband got the kefta , shrimp, and lamb kebab plate with rice, spicy hummus, and an Arabic salad which was basically tomatoes and cucumber. He loved it all. The falafel was really good, nice and crispy on the outside but tender and soft inside. Dipped in Tahiti or hummus and it was truly perfect. I am not in the colony often but if I am in the area I will absolutely stop by!

The ambiance is casual. We went in a large group and service was excellent. We all were really impressed with the food. Quantity is good and quality is excellent. Everything we tried, from sides and appetizers to kababs was super tasty. Only thing I wish for is they would allow adding more toppings to the bowls, it is kind of dry with just the rice and tiny bit of sauce that it comes with. We will surely be back to try more variety.

The food was amazing! Probably the best Mediterranean food I have had in the DFW area! Service was quick and the server was super nice. The ambience is so cute and unexpected for a strip mall. Will definitely be back!

First time here, very pleasant dining room, nice and clean. I would turn down the sconces on the walls as they were too bright for me. I had the three kebab plate and the meat and lamb kebab were good. The chicken was fabulous and the rice was amazing. No sticks to deal with either. Cucumber yogurt side was OK. Service was good and attentive.

Nice ambience

When I initially pulled up I was skeptical but this place is nice and delicious. Everything is well seasoned. I got the beef with spicy hummus. Would recommend the fries as well

We were craving Mediterranean food and this place was close to where we were at in The Colony. Place is in a strip mall. Very blue with nice seating. The menu is the perfect size, not too much but enough to choose from. We ordered the pickled turnips, the beef shawarma hummus and a 2 mix and 3 mix plate. With an extra chicken kabob and side of rice for our kids. We had so much food for our family of four we made a second meal for dinner. Portion sizes are hefty and we could've easily split a 3 mix plate between my husband and I. The rice is super delicious, the chicken kabobs we super juicy with great flavor. The beef kefta was good per my husband and the lamb and beef kababs were good as well. The pickled turnips were fabulous. Loved the hummus and the garlic sauce. The cucumber yogurt was tasty but I would've liked more salt and lemon. Definitely a nice find.

The dining room is nice with comfortable seating. We did not feel rushed. Jerieus ( most likely misspelled) was a welcoming and the service was exceptional. Speaking of exceptional, the food was great! Flavorful, plentiful and presented beautifully. Truly enjoyable

Given it was 12:30pm we were happy to see this place was quite full but still had a table for the 2 of us inside. There is a terrace which might be an option for our next visit. Yea you read that right, we will definitely be back. For lunch we ordered the octopus appetizer which was nice a tender, perfectly grilled and simply served with the most perfect vinaigrette. Nothing more than a little squeeze of lemon over it and you could have brought me a dozen more. But we had to save room for our mains. I chose the gyros salad and my wife the baked haddock with Greek potatoes and string beans. Both dishes were perfect. Not too fancy and just what the doctor ordered. Overheard several tables around us that they were repeat customers so we must have stumbled on to something good. So if you are thinking Greek, check this place out. You won't be disappointed

The main dish just wasn't my favorite, but it wasn't because it wasn't well made, it was more of a texture preference for me. The potatoes were a little overcooked for my liking, although a friend at our table said his were great. I did, however, love the gigantes! Our table also shared the Trio of Dips (tirokafteri, hummus, and skordalia), the moussaka, the Brazilian steak, and the Aegean stuffed pepper. The tirokafteri and hummus were both delicious. The skordalia wasn't for me, but that's simply because it's essentially a chilled potato dip, not a reflection of the restaurant. The Brazilian steak was fantastic, great flavor and cooked perfectly. The stuffed pepper and moussaka also got a thumbs-up from our group. I believe our server's name was Uli, and he was good. He took the time to explain several dishes. Greek food probably isn't at the top of my personal favorites list, but this one was ok.

I was craving something fresh, and grilled and delicious of course- I love all the hummus and veggies and cauliflower and I got more than that- I got magic for lunch. The gentleman that greeted me was very kind and patient and told me a little bit about the restaurants beginnings. I wanted to dibble dabble and try all the popular items: -The hummus really is the most amazing hummus on planet earth- also, the most beautiful- see pictures -the falafel was unmatched to any I've tried, it was soft and fresh and now my favorite of all time- so good. He was kind enough to let me try it on the side. -the cauliflower was almost the star of the show, it's gorgeous and I could truly face plant into the whole thing- flavor bomb city! The crispy edges were super tasty, seasoned well with some hints of salt. -the candy meat in a pita! Gah, that toum sauce was bomb, veggies fresh- and the meat.....THE STAR OF THE SHOW- smoky, fatty, seasoned to perfection- the gentleman made the recommendation and I'm so glad I tried it- ten out of ten! -I received a grilled pepper, my mouth was watering when I watched him bag it up. -two large pitas were also uncooked- fresh and hot. From the moment you step up to the counter, you're welcomed by the warm energy that defines Miznon's global reputation, and the Plano location absolutely delivers. The open-air setup at The Shacks makes it perfect for hanging out with friends, family, or even your dog I am so impressed. Go check them out. It was really divine! Don't MIZ out! I walked in thinking I'd have a "light lunch" and walked out needing a nap and a structural engineer to check if my belt was still up to code. The Food: The hummus is so smooth I'm pretty sure it could solve international conflicts if we just gave everyone a pita bread peace treaty. I ordered the Kabob, and let me tell you, the meat was so tender it basically gave up and melted the second it saw my fork. The rice is fluffy enough to be used as a premium hotel pillow, though I wouldn't recommend sleeping on it--you'll want to eat every grain. The Experience: The staff is great, but be warned: they have a "dangerously hospitable" vibe. You'll be sitting there, minding your own business, and suddenly there's more food on your table. I didn't know if I was at a restaurant or if I'd been adopted by a Iranian family who thinks I haven't eaten since 2022. The Verdict: If you're in Frisco. TX and you want to eat until you can no longer comfortably sit behind a steering wheel, this is your spot. Come for the garlic sauce, stay because you're physically too heavy to leave. Pro Tip: Wear your "stretchy" pants. You've been warned.

We arrived as a party of five on a medium-busy Sunday evening. The tables were a reasonable distance apart, and the noise level was also fair. The food was delicious. Having not experienced authentic Turkish food before, the mention of authenticity made my group eager to give Cafe Istanbul a try. Ordering was painless and easy. There are entrees for individual meals and easy options for groups to share family-style, which we opted for. We ordered an appetizer platter with beef meatball, baba ganoush, hummus, and phyllo borek (ground beef with spices and onions inside a deep-fried phyllo wrapper). It was a bit odd that there were different amounts of each (2 meatball, 4 phyllo borek, and dollops of baba ganoush and hummus were only enough to get a small taste each) but it was balanced out by the portion size of the entree. For the entree, we opted for the mixed grill plate to share. It had chicken shish kebab, lamb kebab, adana kebab (ground lamb, pepper, and spices), grilled chicken wings, and chicken beyti (ground chicken and spices, grilled). This was served with rice and red cabbage on the side. Individually, each amount seemed small, but given that this plate was meant for two, we were still pleasantly full after polishing this off. Everything was well seasoned. The meat was juicy and perfectly cooked. I'd especially recommend the chicken beyti. The here service was swift and outstanding. We were quickly offered menus, waters, and utensils. Our waters were refilled quickly, and the kitchen took our request to plate the lamb separately in stride. The moment after my fork fell to the ground, a member of their serving staff swooped to fetch it (it was behind my chair) while another brought me a new one. It was a very well-rehearsed dance. Worth mentioning is also the fact that there were two separate groups dining that evening (a large family, and a group of friends) to celebrate a birthday. This is a restaurant worthy of birthday celebrations :) Overall, the portions are decent and filling, the food is delicious, and the service is exceptional. Consider visiting this restaurant next time you're in the area; you'll be glad that you did!
