This was our first time experiencing True Food and it didn't disappoint. Such a beautiful restaurant with a very cool vibe. The service was good but the food was even better. Everything we had was excellent, little and fresh. We had the butternut squash pizza for an app. And it was delicious light and not super filling. The combination of the fresh butternut squash with spring greens and ricotta cheese was an experience of flavors that didn't disappoint. The buffalo chicken sandwich was to die for. Light air fried chicken with fresh apple coleslaw. The only thing I would change is to try and get my sandwich quicker. They toasted the bread but the coleslaw soaked in and it wasn't as poppy as we wanted. Overall I would highly recommend True Food for your dinning experience. Food was good and initially the service was good as well. We had salads, pizza, meatloaf. So what was bad? Bar really isn't really a bar. I've had better selections on an airplane flight. The booth we were seated in needs to be closed until they recover the seating. It was in real bad shape. We didn't think we were closing the place down, until we realized our waiter was gone. Great location and lots of parking. Was originally a surprise party but was cancelled and just had a simple birthday gathering for two of our friends. I planned to get the grilled chicken wrap but when I placed my order, our server informed me that they were completely out of chicken (since last night) This wasn't mentioned before we looked over the menu, which would've been helpful to avoid the disappointment. Because of the lack of chicken, I had to get a burger, which not only wasn't my first choice but also added an extra $5 to the lunch deal. I asked if they could make any accommodations, but the server said there were no substitutions available. That was annoying being that y'all are literally out of chicken. I couldn't even order the Asian chicken salad. The food itself was just okay. The watermelon lemonade tasted as if the watermelon was old. Plano Tx location Plano West - I entered at approximately 2:35 and had to wave down the greeter after standing at the door. She waved me over to bar when I said I wanted to sit there. I had to get my own menu I sat at the bar @ 2:38 PM wasn't acknowledged by neither (Brooke, Blake or Cassidy). I waited as they talked amongst themselves. I asked about an item on the menu n was given the Trio menu and Cassidy said something incoherently still no acknowledgement. 3 other associates came behind the bar; nothing. I waited another 10 minutes while Cassidy poured hot water in a bottle to clean it, she did this twice; still nothing. I left @2:48 only to return to scan the QR code and ask for their names. This place has a decent selection of menu items (pizzas, burgers, bowls, salads, etc.) The flavor is generally good. Some bowls are a miss for me so I get a chicken sandwich usually. Husband loves bison pizza. I used to love this place and came to this area exclusively because of this place but lately, it's been a disappointing experience because of the service. As others have mentioned, service when dining in, is very slow. I've noticed this to be true for the last few months. I started doing pickup instead (they have an app). The pickup times are never correct. I always have to wait at least 20 mins after the estimated pickup time. Last weekend, there was a crowd of people all waiting to their pick up and wait was about 40 mins. So total about an hour after placing the order. The manager was very apologetic and kept telling us that the food "will be out any minute" to almost an hour. A free sandwich just didn't make it up to me unfortunately. Although, I appreciate the gesture. Their app also automatically adds a tip to your pickup order so you have to remove it. If I'm picking it up, what is the point of the tip? It's $20 a sandwich and with a tip, it gets even more expensive. I hate to write a negative review because I love their mission as a company but they need to make a few changes to their management at this location. read more

We've been to TFK multiple times in multiple locations, and we had the worst experience. Food took forever to come out, and our waitress mentioned they needed to remake our Chicken Parmigiana dish which is why it was taking so long. Our food came out and my dish was cold. The potatoes were not even warm and the burger was burnt. The Chicken Parmigiana was soggy and the breading of the chicken fell off. For $60+ we wouldn't come back and only finished half our food and didn't bring the rest home. read more

Not my first time eating True Food but pretty new to getting delivery from them (via Uber Eats). I got the Ancient Grains Bowl with tofu and the mango tart for a treat. The bowl was really flavorful and made my insides (that don't always get as many veggies as needed ) very happy. The mango tart was good but didn't taste much like mango. It was pretty much like coconut cream which I really didn't mind. Just wanted more mango flavor. Anytime I eat at True Food I feel like I'm doing something good for my body especially in some hectic weeks where I'm not eating the best. They have a good amount of vegan options which is much appreciated. Side note: they also have a Korean noodle dish that is goooood. The gluten free vegan chocolate chip cookies aren't too bad either. Not sure where to begin. My wife and I have been here before and love the place but something has happened. It started with a dirty wine glass. Even before they poured my wine, I had to send the waiter back for a clean glass. Smudges and lip prints? GROSS! Second, ordered a starter of charred cauliflower, came out cold and one of the two app plates they gave us had food stuck to it. Third, Wife ordered a salad with added protein of tofu. Salad showed up no tofu! Fourth, we decided to cut our loses and order another glass of wine. Wine is served in a mini carafe and poured in glass upon arrival. The carafe was dirty and it appeared there were dead fruit flies inside the carafe. I checked the first carafe and sure enough it had crap stuck to the inside as well. Each step along the way we notified our waiter who was very very apologetic. Manager came out and comped our meal which we didn't eat. Place needs a health inspector. Grilled Korean Steak is a plate that sounds good on paper, but the execution left much to be desired. Unfortunately, the steak was pretty fatty and chewy making it almost inedible. The sad part is that the tender pieces of steak actually had a really good flavor but it was vastly outweighed by the chewy parts. Forbidden rice was interesting and simple but good with the sauce from the meat. My highlight was probably the mushrooms that were mixed in the plate. Oh, and the portions are pretty small for $26. The miso glazed sweet potatoes were otherworldly and the pesto sauce on the side paired well with everything. Food was not ready at my requested time and I had to go into the restaurant TWICE, in 15 min...from curbside, to ultimately pick up my order. It was for a lunch meeting with an MD group. Once I got the food to my meeting, they had not included an item that I ordered and paid for. Worst of all, the apology was very condescending and not at all accountable - I was stared at with a grin, as though I had done something wrong. One word... Fantastic! We have been wanting to try this place out for some time. We booked our table online on a Wednesday night. When our table was ready, we received a text message notification. The hostess guided us to our table and told us to use our phones to scan the barcode on the table to view the menu. The menu has a great mix of food options for everyone. They have meat items, gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options to choose from. We had both a server and a trainee on this visit, both were very friendly and welcoming. After placing our order, the trainer-server repeated our order and asked my spouse if he wanted to add protein to his bowl. He was very knowledgeable about what items were in each dish and told us we both made a great selection from the menu. We both ordered the butternut squash soup for our starters. I also ordered the Ancient grains bowl for my entree, and my spouse ordered the Korean noodle bowl for his. As we waited for our starters, we enjoyed our surroundings. The restaurant was very clean and has a modern, casual, laid-back feel throughout. It's not an upscale restaurant, and you don't have to worry about pulling out your cocktail dresses and neck ties to eat here. The servers all wore T-shirts and slacks, and the back of the house staff wore collard long sleeve shirts and slacks. This is not the kind of place you show up wearing your yoga gear, however, some nice casual clothes will be just fine. Our butternut squash soup arrived piping hot. It was very delicious and the serving size was perfect. Next, our entrees came out. The presentation of our dishes was fantastic. Again, portion sizes were right on point. The ancient grains bowl was amazing. I cannot say enough about it. The sweet potatoes were to die for, and the pesto added the perfect pairing with the grains and grilled portobello mushrooms. My spouse said his Korean noodle bowl was delicious. He said his chicken was tender and he really enjoyed it. We were both pretty satisfied after our meals, so we opted to skip dessert this time. We will definitely try a dessert on our next visit. Service here is fantastic! Our server came to check up on us at the perfect times. At the end of our meal our server thanked us for coming and directed us to the barcode on our table. After scanning the barcode our check came up, we entered our payment info and we're able to leave a tip. This was very convenient. Omg!!! Yes this restaurant is amazing, it is so cute and very well put together. Everything is fresh its a scratch kitchen so things are made then and there. I got the lettuce burger with sweet potatoe fries, and this yummy kale salad thats a healthier version of a cesear salad and it was so tasty. The burger was really juicy and the kale salad tasted lemony and fresh. The sweet potatoes added a good kick to the meal. Overall, the lettuce burger meal was well put together. The drinks are really good. I got this citrus skinny margarita and it tasted so freshly squeezed. The food is really healthy and the service is great. True Food was a good experience overall. I tried the teriyaki bowl with shrimp which was SO good & my friend tried the squash flatbread. I tried a piece and it was fantastic. We both had a matcha horchata latte and loved how the matcha & horchata paired together. The food itself was wonderful. Unfortunately, our service was just ok. Our waiter was a bit absent and brought us our check before asking if we would like anything else or dessert.
