This was our first time experiencing True Food and it didn't disappoint. Such a beautiful restaurant with a very cool vibe. The service was good but the food was even better. Everything we had was excellent, little and fresh. We had the butternut squash pizza for an app. And it was delicious light and not super filling. The combination of the fresh butternut squash with spring greens and ricotta cheese was an experience of flavors that didn't disappoint. The buffalo chicken sandwich was to die for. Light air fried chicken with fresh apple coleslaw. The only thing I would change is to try and get my sandwich quicker. They toasted the bread but the coleslaw soaked in and it wasn't as poppy as we wanted. Overall I would highly recommend True Food for your dinning experience. The food was fine but the party next to us was carrying on a conversation on speaker phone during our meal. Servers took their order and then served food and still talking! Apparently common courtesy isn't common anymore. It definitely put a damper on our enjoyment of the meal. Then someone came into the restaurant with a dog off leash, it went to several tables smelling customers legs and purses. I love dogs but to let one loose in a restaurant at dinner!? I called to thank the manager, Ross, for his servers Alanna & Isahai being extra kind while I was having a rough day. I had plans to dine with a friend at True Food for the first time and was embarrassed I ended up crying in public at our table. Alanna discretely dropped off extra napkins and said to let her know if I needed anything. At the end of the meal, Isahai brought a little dessert over and said they hoped I felt better. Plano Tx location Plano West - I entered at approximately 2:35 and had to wave down the greeter after standing at the door. She waved me over to bar when I said I wanted to sit there. I had to get my own menu I sat at the bar @ 2:38 PM wasn't acknowledged by neither (Brooke, Blake or Cassidy). I waited as they talked amongst themselves. I asked about an item on the menu n was given the Trio menu and Cassidy said something incoherently still no acknowledgement. 3 other associates came behind the bar; nothing. I waited another 10 minutes while Cassidy poured hot water in a bottle to clean it, she did this twice; still nothing. I left @2:48 only to return to scan the QR code and ask for their names. This place has a decent selection of menu items (pizzas, burgers, bowls, salads, etc.) The flavor is generally good. Some bowls are a miss for me so I get a chicken sandwich usually. Husband loves bison pizza. I used to love this place and came to this area exclusively because of this place but lately, it's been a disappointing experience because of the service. As others have mentioned, service when dining in, is very slow. I've noticed this to be true for the last few months. I started doing pickup instead (they have an app). The pickup times are never correct. I always have to wait at least 20 mins after the estimated pickup time. Last weekend, there was a crowd of people all waiting to their pick up and wait was about 40 mins. So total about an hour after placing the order. The manager was very apologetic and kept telling us that the food "will be out any minute" to almost an hour. A free sandwich just didn't make it up to me unfortunately. Although, I appreciate the gesture. Their app also automatically adds a tip to your pickup order so you have to remove it. If I'm picking it up, what is the point of the tip? It's $20 a sandwich and with a tip, it gets even more expensive. Not my first time eating True Food but pretty new to getting delivery from them (via Uber Eats). I got the Ancient Grains Bowl with tofu and the mango tart for a treat. The bowl was really flavorful and made my insides (that don't always get as many veggies as needed ) very happy. The mango tart was good but didn't taste much like mango. It was pretty much like coconut cream which I really didn't mind. Just wanted more mango flavor. Anytime I eat at True Food I feel like I'm doing something good for my body especially in some hectic weeks where I'm not eating the best. They have a good amount of vegan options which is much appreciated. Side note: they also have a Korean noodle dish that is goooood. The gluten free vegan chocolate chip cookies aren't too bad either. Grilled Korean Steak is a plate that sounds good on paper, but the execution left much to be desired. Unfortunately, the steak was pretty fatty and chewy making it almost inedible. The sad part is that the tender pieces of steak actually had a really good flavor but it was vastly outweighed by the chewy parts. Forbidden rice was interesting and simple but good with the sauce from the meat. My highlight was probably the mushrooms that were mixed in the plate. Oh, and the portions are pretty small for $26. The hostess guided us to our table and told us to use our phones to scan the barcode on the table to view the menu. The menu has a great mix of food options for everyone. They have meat items, gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options to choose from. We had both a server and a trainee on this visit, both were very friendly and welcoming. After placing our order, the trainer-server repeated our order and asked my spouse if he wanted to add protein to his bowl. He was very knowledgeable about what items were in each dish and told us we both made a great selection from the menu. We both ordered the butternut squash soup for our starters. I also ordered the Ancient grains bowl for my entree, and my spouse ordered the Korean noodle bowl for his. As we waited for our starters, we enjoyed our surroundings. The restaurant was very clean and has a modern, casual, laid-back feel throughout. It's not an upscale restaurant, and you don't have to worry about pulling out your cocktail dresses and neck ties to eat here. The servers all wore T-shirts and slacks, and the back of the house staff wore collard long sleeve shirts and slacks. This is not the kind of place you show up wearing your yoga gear, however, some nice casual clothes will be just fine. Our butternut squash soup arrived piping hot. At the end of our meal our server thanked us for coming and directed us to the barcode on our table. I got the lettuce burger with sweet potatoe fries, and this yummy kale salad thats a healthier version of a cesear salad and it was so tasty. The burger was really juicy and the kale salad tasted lemony and fresh. The sweet potatoes added a good kick to the meal. Overall, the lettuce burger meal was well put together. The drinks are really good. I got this citrus skinny margarita and it tasted so freshly squeezed. The food is really healthy and the service is great.
