I've been eating in True Food Kitchen before and I never had a such a bad experience. They were out of the most common food in the kids menu, chicken tender and buttered noodles. I had a grass fed burger with umami potatoes, the potatoes were so chewy, it seems sitting in the kitchen for hours. My burger supposed to have mushrooms and didn't have any. If I gave the 2 star is just because of our nice waitress. I think the management or the chef need to be changed. read more

TFK is a chain, but a unique as if it was locally owned by a chef. Ah but it is owned by chefs. Had a customer dinner in the private dining room. A set minimum about for a private room. Eduardo and staff were amazing. They allowed us to hangout in the high top tables in the bar area until dinner. The dinner menu was prefixed with open bar. Good wine, good bourbon, good tequila. I love True Food Kitchen. First fell in love when I had it for the first time in Austin. Didn't know about this location until a friend suggested to have lunch here. I love their interior design. Half way open kitchen, bright and light with lots of natural light. Clean and modern furniture. Bench and chairs are comfortable enough to enjoy your email while carrying great conversation with friends. This location definitely also caters to employees who come here for their lunch break as they have many table seatings to accommodate small groups. I got their ancient grains bowl with salmon. And I loved every flavor of my dish. It's beautifully plated. The colors of quinoa, squash and avocado are bright and enticing. I enjoyed every bite of it. Came here with a couple friends on a Saturday for lunch. First thing I noticed is that the atmosphere is great here. I loved the warm wood, the green and white seating colors, the greenery and the lighting really made the space feel more open and also helps emphasize their farm to table concept. I had the arugula and roasted beet flatbread with a pesto base, the seasonal ingredient salad with chicken, and the "flourless" chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. I think the flatbread was one of my favorite things I have ever tried! The slight sweetness of the roasted beet paired with the peppery arugula and pesto sauce made for a great combination! While I enjoyed the flatbread, I didn't really like the seasonal ingredient salad much. I found the chicken a little over cooked, so it was quite dry and didn't impart much flavor. I think the salad could also benefit from a more acidic dressing. The last thing I tried, the "flourless" chocolate cake, was amazing!! I'm not sure how they made it, but would definitely recommend everyone trying it! Made dinner reservations here on a Monday night. For appetizers we got the herb hummus & pita. I have definitely tasted better hummus but the feta cheese was a nice touch and overall it was pretty good. For the main entree my cousin and I both ordered the Grass Fed Burger with sweet potato hash. The burger is made with caramelized onion, organic arugula and parmesan. It was a delicious burger! My husband convinced me to give it another try. Writing as we go; 1. They send us to their self service section (?) Meaning you order from your phone and you get no service. Umm... why do I want to go to a restaurants and get no service? The section was full of families with kids. Feel like I was fooled into going to the kids section. Plus, one of them was touching all the plates and stuff that is set up for us to pick up, like the salt, peppers and straws. One server 10 tables, great idea!! 2. Ordering was easy, like Panera but triple the cost. Only problem is I had questions about the menu and their is no one to ask. So I ended up ordering something I didn't have questions about. The server did a good job at trying to keep up with entire room. 3. Food was good. Again like a Panera, no service. 4. You pay on the app and leave. No one asks you if you want coffee or dessert or how was your meal. I didn't know if you need to open a new ticket to order dessert or coffee, so when someplace else for dessert. Pretty decent food but a little over-priced for my tastes for the food you get, in comparison to nearby places I've tried when visiting this area of Dallas before. I've grown so used to restaurants here with bigger portions and tastier foods that aren't loaded down with a lot of extra flavors needed, for me. The margarita and grass fed beef tacos were over the top in flavor and spice, I just wanted to really taste the beef, but it felt over shadowed by the seasonings and toppings. That left a few pieces of chicken hard-- or was that a knuckle? The edamame dumplings??? I wanted to like them so much, but I couldn't. As they were also cold, I had to heat them up as well. The food is always great and tasty! I had the spaghetti squash casserole on my most recent visit (this weekend) and added protein/ chicken. The food was not a problem at all; however, beware that some of the servers are newer and will make mistakes on your bill. I was with two other friends and we asked our server to split our bill. We really meant to split it up individually according to what we each ordered but she didn't understand and decided to split it up evenly amongst all three of us. So make sure if you want your bill split that you are very specific with them on how you want it split. Our table really had no problem with how it was split but just be mindful of this. We all received a bill for about $40 each. My friend however, noticed that her online account was showing an $80 charge and some change. When we questioned the server she told us that she wasn't sure why it did that but that it would fall off the account in 2-3 business days. So essentially my friend was charged $80 on lunch for herself instead of what it was supposed to be, $40. We are hoping that the extra charge falls off her account this week. We asked for the manager and he clarified that this was the server's misunderstanding in how to handle their system in splitting bills. Our server never told us that she had made a mistake but instead kept saying that it was weird and she didn't know why that happened. The staff should've been clear from the beginning in what actually happened and explained that this was human error. Things like this happen all the time and we would've preferred the truth instead of sitting there for a good 20 minutes trying to figure it out amongst ourselves. It was very unprofessional and they handled this situation very poorly. The manager did tell us that he would use this as a coaching moment for her but I hope she gets additional training on their system as opposed to just coaching. I am giving it 3 stars because of our experience with the staff. I hope they fix this situation and we can keep going back. read more

We tried the cauliflower as well as the Brussels sprouts for appetizers and they were a huge hit! The entire table (10 people) loved them- even the none veggie lovers. The sauce on the cauliflower is this amazing tahini sauce, super flavorful and delicious! The Brussels are a must as well! The sauce is similar to that of pf Chang's on their lettuce wraps and some of their dishes! So good! As for entries- I ordered the lasagna bolognese. Great atmosphere! Picked the place based off the menu alone, it just sounded light, fresh and healthy. That's what I'm looking for because it's too easy to find heavy food. We probably wouldn't have come to eat had we paid attention to the location, didn't want to deal with the busy sidewalks at legacy, but glad we did. We were sat next to the open kitchen, the wine selection was nice and the brewed black iced tea was delicious! We started with the ahi tuna tostada and it was wonderful. Served with sliced jalapeños, spicy mayo on lavash bread. She had the poke bowl, sauce was a bit more sweet than she was looking to have so a manager brought her some shoyu. I had the Korean steak, and while delicious (I loved the forbidden rice!), I missed that Korean style sweet and salty tang you'd find on Korean bbq on the islands. I'd definitely order it again.
