We came to True Food this weekend and everything was amazing. The tuna spring rolls came with a delicious sauce. The Korean glass bowl was my favorite. Lunch was a major disappointment today. I ordered the Brussels sprout as an app. They were undercooked and favor was lacking. For an entree I ordered the teriyaki quinoa bowl. I've eaten at the other True Food Locations which have been great. This was a disappointment. For a vegetarian sided restaurant, their menu should knock your socks off. There are so many choices these days and creative chefs who work hard to win business. The biggest disappointment in something so basic was the vegetarian burger my husband ordered last night. It was a burnt hockey puck stuck between two buns. It was tasteless with no visible signs of whole ingredients. It looked like a vege burger you could buy at the store but the cook forgot that it was on the grill which led to the burnt exterior. It should have never left the kitchen. The saving grace was the waiter said, he would not charge us for it and said he "really hated to comp us for it" but he even agreed that it didn't look appetizing. Also, the sweet potato was not a hash. It was potatoes pan fried with no seasoning. As a standard side option, I would have thought more effort could have been put into making it a little more than pan seared potatoes. I had the regular organic hamburger. Nothing super but then I didn't expect it to be either. We were eating at a vegetarian restaurant after all. A disappointment but we will have to use up our gift card. This will not be the location we finish off the balance. This location is definitely more convenient and I hope they get through the kinks of their opening this location. Much has to be improved to compete with the Mosaic location. read more

My partner and I were visiting family in town for the holidays and were looking for good vegan- and pescatarian-friendly food in a sea of steak and burger restaurants. I'm so glad we found True Food Kitchen. We actually ended up having lunch and dinner here on the same day! Highly recommend the Korean noodle bowl, panang curry, and edamame dumplings! Overall the food is quite good, however, the overall experience is significantly diminished due to their relationship with UBER eats. UBER eats is absolutely horrible. On average 8 out of 10 ten times UBER eats fails from timely ness resulting in cold food to forgetting food all together Then they wipe their hands clean. Not us and they both end up pointing fingers at the other I hope True Food will sever their relationship with UBER eats read more

I'm a regular True Food fan and it's a wonderful place. The pizza with butternut squash, sautéed onions, vegan mozzarella, kale and cranberries is mouthwatering and delicious beyond belief. Visited here on opening day. Service was friendly and True food has a nice sized patio for outdoor dining. The Server was new and as you might expect with new openings, he did not know the answers to my questions on the food to figure out what things meet my dietary restrictions and so he had to keep going in to check. The salmon bowl I really like at the Mosaic location is unfortunately unavailable on the Reston menu- there is another salmon plate but it's not the same. I ordered a Kale salad with shrimp. I ate it and picked around the tons of farro grains that aren't on my diet, which was not at all an enjoyable experience. I wondered why my kale salad had the wrong ingredients and no kale! Later realized I ended up with a different salad from what I ordered. I'm not big on wasting food or making a fuss so I didn't bother returning it. The salad left me hungry though, even with the shrimp add on. The shrimp were overly seasoned and very salty. Once I got home, I had to eat more for lunch. Also, for a lunch, most items were very pricey in my opinion. This place has a lot of hype though and I know lots of Restonians are thrilled to have this addition at RTC. Willing to give it another shot some other time once they get situated. read more

We just love this place. I had to get in to experience the new spring menu. So glad I did. We had Sam as our server.... great guy, great server, great food. I particularly love their vegan ice cream and since it's such a great occasional treat, I had to try it with their gorgeous chocolate chip cookies. Another so-so experience. The service is always up and down here and more puzzling tonight as the place was pretty empty, surprising for a Saturday night. Took forever for a waiter to acknowledge our existence but he was about a 2.5 out of 5 in the final analysis. Nice enough guy but not certainly a good waiter although I think he tried. Word up - the chicken Parm is not like anything you would expect to be served as chicken parm. It's basically a grilled chicken breast topped with cheese. Almost no sauce whatsoever. i basically ate a couple of chicken breasts. the edamame dumplings and cauliflower appetizers good, however. I'm not sure we are going to go back. just not enough upside to go to reston from Leesburg for so-so experience. read more

When I ate here in person the food was good and tasted fresh. I ordered the same dish Teriyaki Quinoa Bowl with Salmon for delivery with Uber Eats on a Saturday night at 8:30, and it was horrible. I live near the restaurant, and my order arrived super fast (about 15 minutes from time I placed order) so the quality issue was not due to the food sitting around. The whole dish was drowning in very strong sauce, the vegetables were soggy and not at all fresh looking or tasting. The only part that was even edible was the salmon, and that was bland. The dish was obviously not fresh. This was a kitchen staff taking short cuts instead of preparing meals fresh. If you are not willing to cook the food to order, then just refuse the order. This isn't so much a gripe with this restaurant as it is with true food as a whole - get ready. When you eat at true food, expect to have an overly expensive, decent quality meal that doesn't fill you up in the slightest. I understand that a lot of the appeal is that they use high quality ingredients, but they're not really where they should be for the price. There's a potbelly and a chipotle down the road, you can find a just as healthy, cheaper, and more delicious option there easily. As a side note, none of the staff wore masks. For some Birkenstocks hipster restaurant you would at least expect the concern to have servers wear masks but nah. Save yourself the time, go to potbelly or chipotle, or if you're looking for something more upscale go to one of the nicer restaurants around, you'll barely be paying more for a much nicer meal. read more
