The minute we walked in our server, Yesenia, welcomed us like we were family. Her smile radiates love and that love makes the meal a celebratory event! We have been coming to this place for the last 6 years. We like it a lot and love that they offer organic food at an affordable price. We came here again over the weekend and was very surprised that the food has changed. My husband had the chef's special (chicken noodle soup) while I had the Thai curry shrimp and our daughter had the tuna poke. My husband liked the soup. I did not like the Thai curry. It was very bland and lacked flavor. The curry was very watery. My daughter's poke bowl was basically a bowl of rice with tuna and cilantro on top. Not your typical poke bowl. We had the crispy chicken nuggets for appetizer and it looked like it was something you get from the frozen food aisle in the grocery store. How do you serve this and say it's an appetizer?! It was great to be back. We took a couple year break after our last experience, but it was time. We were the only people in the restaurant from about 6pm to 7pm on a Saturday when we left. That in itself was pretty crazy. Our server was very friendly and attentive, as it was just us. Food was delicious and had hints of the old days. I think the ownership has changed. The shabu soup bases are flavorless and the vegetable portions are sub-par. Literally two pieces of kale stems, two pieces of broccoli, few pieces of thinly sliced zucchini and carrots, sliver of cabbage. They give you a sufficient amount of rice noodles and a bowl of rice to fill you up instead. Meat portions were good. Sauces were meh. There are many items on the menu that they no longer serve too. Only thing preventing me from giving them a lower rating is the good service. I can see they are trying hard. I ate this over the course of 3 days, that's how much there was! One note of caution: easy with the sauce! Came in yesterday with my friend and was not sure what to expect. We had a botox appointment and We were craving hot pot so we found this spot in the same shopping center. I'm used to the "all you can eat" hot pot spots but this place blew my mind. We didn't get our servers name but she was a Hispanic lady with curly hair that gave us the best service ever. She always checked in on us and made sure we were content the whole time. She told us how the restaurant works and what they offer. She made our experience special and over the top!!!!! You can tell she cares about the restaurant and takes care of it! Food: Everything was FRESH. From the veggies to the meat. they gave you great portions for the price and the broth was on point!! The inside of the restaurant was super cozy and the ambiance was super peaceful and quiet which i LOVED. I gotta say this place surprised me. I knew coming into a place serving poke, pho, ramen and hot pot is probably not the most authentic. I don't know if it was because I had really low expectations but it actually exceeded my expectations and wasn't too far off from being authentic. In fact, it is better than another pho place couple plazas away. The noodle was blanched correctly as it did not leave any "noodle residue taste" and the broth was pure. The chicken broth was rich and comforting. It's the perfect bowl of soup broth you'd want when you're feeling sick or cold. This bowl of chicken pho is actually pretty good. Hubby got the beef one and enjoyed the soup as well. You can definitely tell it's a healthier and cleaner version for broths. It's at a higher price point for pho but completely worth the price tag imo. They also give you chicken that seems like it's directly off the bone from the broth which is outstanding. It's been really cold to sit outside for meals lately. We started with bottled Sapporo and organic sake. I had a Thai milk tea with boba and another Sapporo later on. For food we had cold tofu as app, prime ribeye and 2 protein combo for shabu. Their soup base came out as two scoops of miso paste which was interesting. The soups were very flavorful. I had to get another medium chicken order cause the chicken and shrimp medium order was too little food for me. Everything was very fresh and tasty but the portions were definitely on the small side and prices were high. I liked it that they had pho instead of udon noodles. Okay, so, organic does not mean bland. We came on a Friday night and ordered the Asian tacos, dumplings, vegan pho, chicken ramen, and grilled chicken bowl... All the food was under seasoned. The tacos came with no onion and just whole stems of cilantro. We asked for pickled onions and got regular diced, she didn't understand what pickled meant. We finished the tacos by the time they came back to tell us they didn't have any dumplings. My grilled chicken barely had salt and pepper on it. Veggies are bok choy, cabbage, green onion, white onion, whole cilantro, and zucchini. No carrots, no mushrooms, no fun veggies. We had to ask repeatedly for water. This is the only place nearby that I have found that accommodates people who are gluten free and vegan. The menu was clear with everything labeled and the place was really cute and cozy. We came to this restaurant for lunch recently, and the service was excellent. It was a pretty slow day for them as there were only five people eating in the restaurant. So, the server was very attentive and awesome. I guess we are lucky it was slow because we didn't experience what the other people were saying about the service. The ambiance was okay. To be honest, it was a little dark inside and sad looking. They need to improve the look and feel of the restaurant. It's not too inviting. Food-wise, it was good. We had the shabu shabu. I thought the different Ramen, Pho soups were just different hot pots with different noodles. The menu was so confusing.. Anyway, we had miscommunication of it all. I finally got my hot pot, with spicy miso broth. The server couldn't explain the menu to me very well, but insisted the bone broth that was 15 dollars more. The spicy miso broth was tasty, but nothing that really wowed me, the meat was a little questionable, it had some darker spots like it wasn't fresh. Also the sesame sauce tasted weird and dark grey-ish in color.. My beau got the ramen mushroom flavor. He also was confused about the hotpot because for ramen, 21dollars a bowl for chicken ramen?! (This is the hotpot / ramen bowl confusion came from) He rolled with it.. I tasted his soup and it was so much better than the spicy miso.. For the amount of food, and price this is a bit on the expensive side for mediocre food.. (I usually never complain about price of any restaurant or service on any of my yelp reviews). The service was okay, even after the miscommunication. They had us pay for our meal first and I tipped 18percent believing it was going to be great. They checked on us once outside just to see if we turned off the burner.. The ambiance was off, like they really didn't care. I work in the industry too. Delicious halal shabu! My favorite spot House of Shabu shabu stopped serving halal meat so I was thrilled to find this spot does! All of their broths and meats (except for ribeye) are halal! They said they could make their pho broths halal too if necessary. Now on to the experience. The waitress was really helpful after we told her it was our first time there. She guided us through how to order and which broths were the best. My husband and I opted for the spicy miso (which wasn't too spicy, perfectly flavorful!). She mixed the broth right in front of us. We chose chuck beef and grass-fed beef which were both great choices. The meal came with 4 dipping sauces, rice, noodles, and a plate of bokchoy, carrots, bean sprouts, and cabbage. Wasn't crowded when we arrived, and the waitress was friendly and attentive. My partner enjoyed his veggie pho, and my sister said the beef pho and shrimp tempura was good. Unfortunately , I didn't take more than one bite of my veggie pho. It is pricey for the items we selected: three pho bowls (two veggies & one beef) + one regular edamame and one spicy + one order of shrimp tempura + an order of veggie rolls = $107. My wife and I have been here a few times. The hot pot is just meh for the price you pay. Service has also not really been amazing to the point where it'd continue bringing me back. The ambiance is somewhat nice. We've had several versions of their hot pot. The broth has some good flavor but, is not anything above what you can get at cheaper places in Irvine. What really irritates me is that this restaurant also provides a kitchen for a virtual restaurant but, that also doesn't accept orders. They advertise and take orders as well as process payments but, then cancel the orders and never process them. Something shady is going on or their management is just neglectful. Very underwhelming for Shabu Shabu. Came here for lunch because the weather was gloomy so it called for something soupy and warm. Was intrigued by the organic factor so decided to try True Seasons. Upon walking in, the restaurant was very dim with only bar seating and small high top tables lining the side of the restaurant. We got seated at the lower bar since we had a 2 year old. This Shabu experience was very different from all the other places I've been to. They have a number of soup bases to choose from: mushroom, kombu, miso, spicy miso and spicy Thai lemongrass. We tried the spicy miso and spicy Thai lemongrass, all of which started with a water base then they mixed the flavor you selected rather than it already pre-made which made the flavor of the soup very watery (which none of us were a fan of). If that wasn't bad enough, the veggie bowl that each pot came with was very minimal (cabbage,carrots, bak choy, and pho noodles). Lastly their dipping sauces were disappointing. They had 4 flavors: teriyaki, pomegranate, ponzu and sesame. I tried the pomegranate, ponzu and sesame. The ponzu was the only okay sauce IMO. The highlight of the meal was the meat. I got the choice ribeye, which had little to no fat. For 6oz, you get quite a lot but it is a little pricey. Taking everything into consideration, I wouldn't come back. There are plenty of other places in Orange County to get my Shabu fix. One thing to note, they do offer a lot of other foods here like pho and poke bowls, if you are into it. read more

They give you your broth then dump a generous amount of veggies in front of you plus your meat or seafood choice.
