Our toilet got clogged. Nothing Do-It-Yourself Worked. And the toilet was backing up -- meaning filling back up where had to literally scoop out the crappy water into a bucket to pour out onto the street every other hour or so. Yuck. Need a professional. Called my goto-plumber guys at the locally-owned TRUE VALUE PLUMBING with Cody, Sam, Chris, etc. These guys from TRUE VALUE PLUMBING are highly trained and experienced where Cody has put his people through their plumbing education and apprenticeship to ensure his company has trustworthy professional plumbers who are confident in providing their service to fix your plumbing issues. I like these guys -- previously had really good experience with them when they worked on a toilet leak & replacement as well as replacing the water pressure regulator at our other house -- BUT ANYWAYS this time, we have this badly clogged crappy toilet at my mom's house. UGH! HELP! Called at like around 9:30am and spoke to Cody -- they were available that same day, a Sunday, between 12noon-2pm. Yay! Sam showed up at 12noon. Sam was their guy working on that Sunday. Fully prepared for anything. Sam advised me as to the possible solutions to remedy the problem. Would first try a toilet auger snake tool which would extend a spinning coiled metal snake down into toilet going like six to ten feet to break up whatever was causing the blockage down into the toilet drainage pipe. If that did not work, he would try a longer snake. And if that did not work, then would use a hydro jet to blast the drainage. But they hope they can fix things much more easily to save the customer some money. Sam advised that all sorts of yuck could accumulate down there caking up the drainage pipe to eventually block it all up. Anyways Sam goes to work using that toilet auger snake which sounded like it was drilling through all the stuck crap etc down there. Then the toilet started to look like it was going to drain but with a bunch of the broken brown crappy water floating back up. It looked like it would flush! Yeah me was watching the apparent progress as the toilet auger snake was breaking through whatever stuck crap was down there. And so the toilet was able to begin flushing. Sam ran the toilet auger snake through a few more times to get the toilet to flush faster and more clearly until it looked like it was flushing normal to me. Sam also ran that toilet auger snake through the other toilet there at my mom's house which was filling to the brim and slowly flushing down. Apparently also had some blockage to be cleared up by running the toilet auger snake tool to clear that up also. And so now have two nicely unclogged toilets that flush quickly whether you are doing your #1 or your #2. Yay! Very Happy! Sam and Cody, who stopped by later to assist, advised me to have them use their camera system -- which is like a long camera cable on a reel cart that they would snake into an outside-the-house cleanout drain opening to inspect the drainage pipes going under the house going out to the sewer. Well it looked to me like the drainage pipe, with grease and gunk accumulated down in there, should be cleaned up also. Okay let me pause and say I would understand anyone else not wanting to have this extra pricey expense. BUT I was thinking about preventing possible eventual worse clog blockage problems for my mom's old house. So yeah let's blast clear the drainage under house with the hydro jet. They advise this hydro cleaning maintenance like every few years. They had their hydro jet rig towed behind their plumbing truck for just in case they had to deal with an actual bad blockage clog further down the drain -- BUT we're just doing the hydro jet cleaning maintenance down there which is like a quarter less in cost -- meaning would be more expensive if had actual bad blockage clog further down the drainage BUT for our situation would be less expensive to do hydro jetting maintenance to clean out accumulated gunk down there. Happy to have that done. So toilets fixed and drainage cleaned. Yes pricey but these are professional plumbers looking to do the best for you. Highly recommended these guys at TRUE VALUE PLUMBING to handle clogged toilets, water pipe leaks, toilet leaks & replacement, replacing your water pressure regulator, water heater replacement, whatever your plumbing needs, etc -- as well as hydro jetting maintenance of the drainage under your house (if you want to pay more for that). I've turned to these guys twice so far for our plumbing needs -- and yes they are not cheap if you want MORE done -- but you will be paying professionals who are highly trained and experienced to give you the expert plumbing service that you need. I am sorry to say that True Value Plumbing's service was completely unsatisfactory. I was given a quote for replacing a faucet, and when the plumbers arrived, the price was significantly higher than what I had initially been told. This type of behavior is unacceptable and unprofessional. I was taken advantage of, and I feel like I was misled. I will not use this service again and would not recommend it to anyone else. The lack of transparency and integrity is unacceptable in any business, and this plumbing service failed in both aspects. When I had a slowly draining kitchen sink, I checked Yelp reviews and decided to give True Value a call. Even though I called after hours, they returned my call right away and scheduled me for a visit the next day. Cody came out with an assistant and after thorough review of the issue, explained what was happening. Turns out a section of old cast iron piping was the cause of the problem. Cody detailed all of the options and did not go in for the hard sell. I truly appreciated that. He showed my husband and I photos to explain the situation and we felt very informed. After debating the options, we decided to go for new pipe installation. Cody and his assistant did a spectacular job and we were so pleased with the results. I had true plumbing come out to fix toilet issue for my business and they were amazing! 1) they were able to send someone out under 12 hrs, which is super important when running a coffee shop with only 2 restrooms 2) They were super honest, even thought they quoted for a higher amount based on initial assessment, they ended up only charging us for the work that was needed. Saving us $300, even thought they could have easily charged us based on initial assessment. and 3) they were super respectful, and explained to us in detail everything that was done, and also fixed a few other issues for free. We had a toilet clogged after a dinner party on Saturday night (March 8, 2025) that included several kids. True Value customer service was available on a Sunday morning when the emergency struck-- water backing up from the toilet and overflowing into the bathroom and corridor beyond. Samuel from True Value was here within half an hour of our call. He was extremely courteous and knowledgeable. He snaked the mainline and the clog was fixed in about 30 minutes of his arrival.
