Located in a strip mall, this little restaurant has a nice Spanish Italian vibe. We waited to be seated until our entire party arrived. While we waited we were offer a drink or to sit at the bar. The menu has many tapas to choose from, which allowed us to share several items. The food was good. My favorite was the paella and the stuffed dates. We also shared the sausages and lobster ravioli. You can see the chef cooking, as the kitchen is wide open and facing the restaurant. My server Debbie was super nice! Gave. This is a nice neighborhood restaurant. Rustic small venue with big flavored tapas and great service. As I arrived early and waited for my friend, Nina took care of me and was kind enough to adjust my drink, to my taste. We ordered truffle fries, Gary's stuffed mushrooms, and butternut squash ravioli, both were yummy. Cajun artichoke was a bit salty and ok. The best was the chocolate mousse bomb with raspberry sauce. We loved this place! Perfect for date night. We recently came back from Spain and needed our tapas and paella fix. Started with the grilled Spanish sausages which were a hit. The paella Valenciana was good and was packed with seafood. You definitely get your moneys worth for it. Ended with some cannolis. Our server was really great. Truffle Bistro is a small restaurant hidden in a strip mall. I booked a reservation online through Yelp. When I arrived, I noticed that only three tables were occupied. The host/server was a bit curt and seemed somewhat irritated that not all members of our group had arrived, which felt a bit out of place. The food was mediocre; the Frutta di Mare lacked both flavor and seafood variety, and it came with pasta that wasn't listed on the menu. Overall, it was just average. read more

Friendly staff, open kitchen , good wines .. Ambience can be improved a bit . Food- we ordered Cajun Artichokes, Ratatouille, Goat cheese , stuffed mushrooms and quail as tapas items .. I had never had these combinations before , so the flavors were a bit unique.. the sauce in Artichoke's was a bit too watery .. Taste of the sauce was amazing . Goat cheese came with marinara sauce which I think is store bought but fine .. Ratatouille was okay. Quail with pomegranate sauce was different but I loved it .. the desert , Pistachios and ricotta was amazing . I would go again to check out diff tapas .. Do not trust the high restaurant rating. I do not have any conflicts of interest. I paid full price for the meal I had. I do not know the owner of the restaurant. Here is my original review. This food is just sad. This restaurant is a hard pass. When we were in there, it was a Friday night at 7 pm, and no tables were filled in the entire restaurant. This should have been our sign to turn around and leave. The hostess even made a comment that this is a normal Friday night. We had 3 tapas, brussel sprouts, gnocchi with short rib and calamari and left most of the food on out plates and left. The brussel sprouts taste like they have been cut for a few days sitting in the fridge. They were incredibly dry. It seems like they just throw them in the deep frier, toss them in basalmic. The marinara sauce tastes like it is from a can. Very high sugar content, extremely sweet. As for the short rib, there was almost none in the dish and the 3 small pieces were very fatty. Lastly the calamari tasted very fishy, so it has probably been in the fridge too long. read more

I was born and raised in the City of Orange, and I can say with full confidence this is one of the best hidden gems in the city. We started coming here about two years ago and have been hooked ever since! My husband and I love to come here for date night, and we ALWAYS bring our out of town visitors here, and they are always impressed. I'll start with the food. There is no bad menu item; they are all outstanding! My personal favorites are the Gorgonzola gnocchi, butternut squash ravioli, salmon carpaccio, and the tuna tartar. My husband is a meat eater and loves the wings and meatballs! The staff is also so fantastic. They have a family owned vibe and everyone from the hostess to the servers to the owner are friendly and knowledgeable. And this dude (owner) can COOK! Watching him on the line is incredibly impressive, especially as it is generally just him jamming out all the food. The inside is quaint and intimate. Now Henry the manager is harassing me on social media because I wrote this post about my food tasting like plastic. Seriously GROW UP and buy safer to go containers, the END! Ordered 2 pastas to go. They use cheap plastic salad containers that are not safe for hot food. Food tasted like plastic. I called and left a message explaining our dinner was not edible but it's been 2 days and the manager has still not returned my calls. $55 in the trash. The pasta with chicken was very sweet too, did not like the dish. We will never order from here again. ---- Instead of calling me back like an adult, the Manager responded to my review by insulting me! Looking at all the other negative reviews his responses are extremely immature. The girl who took my order said she recommends a dish with chicken, tomato and white sauce. My husband and I ate there last Saturday. We walked into this cute, well decorated restaurant. It is small with about 10 tables. The staff is excellent! We were greeted with a warm welcome.it is a Spanish, Italian, Greek flair. We ordered small 4 plated. We had the meatballs that were so delicious, we had an eggplant on toasted baguette. So yummy, olives and a mushrooms dish that were so delicious. We also has home made Tiramisu that was soooo Delicious even their coffee was top notch. I can't say enough about this hidden secret! I've been trying to find my go-to Tapa spot in OC since I have a few in Vegas, and I think I've found it! My husband and I ordered a bunch of Tapas and out of all of them, we only thought one was a miss. Chicken Wings (recommended by our sever): A miss. Wasn't worth it. Rabo De Toro (house special): Very good. If you like oxtail soup, definitely a must try. It is pretty salty and fatty (not really my thing, but I get it - the flavorrrr), so you may want to ask for a couple more pieces of bread. Gary's Stuffed Mushrooms: Also really good! Bone Marrow: Decently sized bones! The pieces we got were definitely on the fattier size, so if that's your thing, it's a must try. Spanish Mussels: Yes. Try it. Queso Di Cabra: So simple, but SO SO good. The goat cheese really comes through. We wanted more. Short Rib Gnocchi: Yes. Get it. Fried Artichokes (special): Was a good alternative to calamari that we usually get. The highlight was definitely the sauce. read more

You have to try this place! It's a little small inside but we went in the evening on a Sunday and were immediately seated. We shared some tapas and everything was 10/10. We ate the octopus, lamb empanadas, gambas a ajillos, Brussel sprouts, duck breast, stuffed dates, and short rib gnocchi. Everything was cooked perfectly and the sauces for each of them were super tasty and complimented the dish well. If we lived around here, we would go all the time. Sadly, very sadly, we walked into Truffle Bistro this evening early for a 6pm reservation. Our noses were assaulted with an overwhelming smell of disinfectant. We turned around and walked out and canceled our reservation. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE dump this disinfectant and replace it with something neutral with no smell. Our favorite OC/neighborhood restaurant. We have been coming here the last few years for their quality and range of tapas, cocktails/mocktails, and wine. Having just had a newborn we came back and so happy they're baby accommodating! They have high chairs, but only space for a baby carrier in booth seating, and no strollers due to tighter table spacing. We have been coming here for a very long time and love absolutely everything on the menu. We have favorites, but it is pretty much the whole menu. Hard to choose what to have when Henry makes such out of this world, exotic dishes that you can't really find anywhere else. At least not of this caliber. There are so many things on the menu that are so hard to find, except maybe in Europe where I am lucky enough to frequent, but you would be hard-pressed to find half of these items on any single menu anywhere else in the world. Truly amazing and we are grateful to have this place so close by and easy to get to. As an added bonus, my lady and our friend took me there for a special birthday dinner. Everything was amazing from the wine, to the tapas...to the dessert! We started with the arugula Greek salad, which was fabulous. The calamari steak was wonderful, done in a unique way, no breading, but absolutely delicious! And the butternut squash ravioli was to die for amazing! We almost ordered another instead of dessert.,.but decided to finish up with one of their many fantastic desserts, the Limoncello Mascarpone cake, and we were not disappointed! The outside is very unassuming and the inside decor is sparse almost minimalistic. They have a full bar and an impressive wine offering. The Gin & Tonic drink with lemon is fantastic and deserves at least 2 orders. For starters we had the stuffed mushrooms and calamari. The calamari was cooked to perfection. Lightly battered and juicy on the inside. The selection of appetizers is amazing and could be a meal in itself. Must orders are Mia Bella Farfalle and Pollo Marsala. Both sauces were outstanding. The paella was very good - my only comment is that the shrimp was on the tough side and why no aoli? - the flavor was authentic and delicious. Make sure you order the truffle fries and for dessert, the tiramisu is one of the best we've had. Will be back definitely! read more
