My first visit I had the shrimp tapas this dish was so flavorful I wanted bread to soak up the sauce but didn't want to ruin my main course the lobster raviolis. If you like capers and lobster raviolis, I'd highly recommend this dish. Second visit we had the truffles fries and artichokes. Again the sauce the artichoke were in was SO flavorful and delicious. The truffle fries were great. Every dinner I've taken the cheese cake home to enjoy because I like a late night snack. Delicious food and excellent service. My young daughters and I had dinner here and enjoyed all the small plates we tried. We loved the pisto manchego best of all, although the short rib gnocchi was a close second. A beer and wine license isn't unusual, but I was surprised to see that they appear to host a full bar, as well. I'll have to try that out when I have another adult with me to do the driving. I took work wife to Truffle Bistro awhile back for her birthday celebration and it was pretty good. We sat at the bar by the open kitchen and talked to the chef/owner about his inspiration opening a restaurant. The restaurant was cozy and the menu was tapa heavy. It was perfect since work wife likes to "try new things" but get full easily. We ordered fried cauliflower, chicken wings, roasted brussel sprouts, lamb empanada, gambas al ajillo, and paella a la valenciana. My favorite was the gambas al ajillo, it was a Spanish shrimp tapa with garlic and Spanish brandy. It was tasty and the shrimp was perfectly cooked. My least favorite was the lamb empanada. It was a little dry and the dough was soaked in grease. Not something I would order again. Overall I enjoyed our dinner. The service started off good but we were forgotten during our meal so we were out of water and wine at some point. The service was fine after I flagged the server. Service was great! The server was very attentive and the food came out quickly. I ordered the lamb shanks and my husband ordered the sea bass. Sea bass was incredibly flavorful and juicy. There was a variety of cherry tomatoes that complimented the bass very well. The lamb fell off the bone and was prepared with a good mix of spices. I initially thought that they did not give me enough vegetables, but it was actually a well balanced amount that filled me up. Lastly we had their house dessert, the tiramisu and it was fantastic! Spanish Seafood Stew was good for the mussel and shrimp, but when it came down to the soup, it was super spicy. I told the waitress, and she was understand, but she said it is up to the chef. During the pandemic, they have a few tables on the sidewalk and also had a group indoors. Our waitress was excellent and had a mask on. They also have hand sanitizers by their entrance. We shared: *Pita with olive tapenade- on the house *Brussels Sprouts- very tasty with a nice vinaigrette *Oxtail- braised for hours, the meat fell off the bone. It was a bit too oily as expected but tasty *Chicken wings- seemed like double fried like the Korean type. Thin skin, sweet marinade *Fruti di Mare: this was the only entree we ordered and the one that lacked flavor, in my opinion. It had a good amount of mussels, shrimp, clams and scallops in a butter light sauce but missing salt Unfortunately, they were out of their homemade tiramisu and the Estrella beer which my husband liked so much on a Sun evening but still an enjoyable meal! read more

Didn't get a chance to eat because we went earlier than our reservation and even though several empty tables we couldn't be sat as well as the bar had 2 people at it but supposedly people had that on hold as well. One of the few places that serves tapas in my area. Most of the tapas are great: Truffle fries - delicious Lamb skewers - this was a miss for me. It was ground lamb and flavor was not to my liking Stuffed mushrooms - great Duck breast - tender and delicious Calamari - pretty typical but would order again Rabo de Toro - great but portion is small Brussel sprouts - tasty and I think there was chorizo bits that made it special We've also tried the Paella and Seafood stew entrees. They were ok, but value was not there compared to the tapas. Also, highly recommend the truffle bistro refresher cocktail. It's tasty, but some servers make it better than others. read more

My friend and I have frequented this restaurant for the past several months biweekly after work (we are also colleagues). Neither of us thought the food was the best, but it's a good location vis a vis where we each live. The service is generally good- I'll give them that. But, our experience tonight left a lot to be desired. My friend and I ordered the salmon and specified medium rare. We've had the salmon there before and thought it was overcooked. Unfortunately, there was only one salmon left. I got the lamb shank and my friend got the salmon. The salmon came overcooked. When we explained this to the waitress she said she'd speak with the chef-owner, which she did. There were couple back and forths here and my friend indicted he would be fine if they just removed it from the bill since there was no salmon with which to replace the overcooked dish. The waitress offered the sea bass at the same price as the salmon (the former is $15 more). When the check came, the bill was incorrect - we were charged the sea bass price and not the salmon price. We explained this to the waitress and the owner came to speak with us. Before we could get a word in he very aggressively explained the salmon isn't Atlantic salmon and doesn't come medium rare. Why didn't the waitress tell us this? Any case, I explained to him the exchange with the waitress and he absolutely didn't care. My friend and I explained that we frequent the restaurant and I added that we spoke to the him, the owner, a couple of weeks ago. He literally shrugged like he didn't give a ___. I was floored. It was incredibly rude and offensive. When my friend explained the situation further, the owner agreed to what was already discussed- sea bass at the salmon price. Long story short; the check came back wrong again- the waitress told us that the owner added $6 rice. WHAT!? We paid, gave a 20% tip, left, and vowed to never return. It's overpriced food. It tries to be fine dining but you can get better food at Denny's. And there are homeless people outside of the restaurant. Terrible location. This review is additional information regarding our dining experience at this restaurant. The owner here, Henry, seems to upset because he only had two tables dining in his restaurant the entire evening. The owner claimed we came into his restaurant with six bottles of wine. I'm not sure where he went to school, but we had four bottles to choose from, of which two would be opened. My friends bag only held four bottles. Nobody at our table was giving you a thumbs up after each plate you served either. You must of confused us with the other table that was dining in your restaurant. The wine list was subpar (imo) and the rest of our party concurred. The wine glasses were like drinking out of goblets that you would get at a roast chicken feast while watching Gladiators fight to the death. Best you revamp your wine list and get some proper stemware to go along with your $20 corkage policy. In addition, please have your facts in order before you try and fabricate an overzealous response to a previous review. read more

We had high hopes since we learned that the chef/owner had started one of our favorite restaurants, Capones, in Huntington Beach. We found the food to just be mediocre and nothing that we would come back for. A big disappointment was the bone marrow dish. When we received it there was almost no marrow in the two pieces we got.
